He was last mugged awhile back - so he is overdue.  He didn't take my rent check on Tuesday, so I owe him, big time.

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  Not too bad outside around the Louisville area this morning:  temp's hovering at 35 here in the city, and outlying areas are just a couple of degrees cooler, according to the weather report this morning.  We just had a little bit of rain overnight, haven't seen any snowflakes yet.  Temps tonight are to be in the teens, so maybe we won't see much snow yet.

Coffee has finished brewing, fresh juices are made and chilling in the fridge, water is hot for tea, and there's also hot chocolate and hot cider this morning. Mookie, have your coffee mug sitting on the counter for you, ready to pour your coffee.

On the warmer bar this morning:  oatmeal, toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, bagels and bear claws.

You all have a good, morning, keep yourselves safe, and take care.

CW, I wish it were that warm here in Sioux Falls. I've been up for a little better than an hour and the temp here is currently sitting at 14 degrees, to say nothing of what the wind chill factor might be. The temp here has dropped 2 degrees since I got out of bed.

I was supposed to have the day off today, but one of my co-workers got selected for jury duty, so I will be going in to cover for him, and while I'm pleased that I am able to pick up an extra 6 hours today, I'm not exactly thrilled with having to walk 1 mile in the cold. But it's only a 20 minute walk for me and hopefully the Wendy's manager will already be there so I will not have to stand out in the cold waiting for her.

Now before I leave, I think I'll pour myself a cup of hot chocolate and grab a bearclaw while I am in here. CW, thanks much for breakfast!

Y'all are more that welcome to come up to the balmy north woods and warm up a bit - it's 44 here right now...

The weatherguesser is forecasting some snow flurries for the weekend - that'll help set the mood for our Polar Express trains!

My Dal has minor surgery scheduled for the 11th for a nodule on his leg.  That's no big deal, but his recuperation will be right in the middle of the holidays, and that's going to put all sorts of complications in my plans.  And you know how dogs are about things like stitches...

I walked over two blocks to the little grocery for a paper (and found out they've quit selling them inside the store); took my gloves off coming home, because it felt pretty good outside, with the sun shining, and no breeze.

Today is going to be leftover day:  there's a little bit of turkey left, and leftovers from our Mexican Fiesta last night.  And I believe there's some chili left:  both mild and medium.  I'll be sure and put hot sauce and hot picante and hot salsa on the tables, if you want to make your chili hotter.

I think, if I can, I'll go out this afternoon, and buy Christmas cards and Christmas stamps, and start working on getting them ready to mail to family and friends.  Need to get that done, so people will get them before Christmas.

You all have a good afternoon, and take care.

Brian - never met a bright lemon, let alone a really bright one.  Think we may be on to something here. I have a list of some (ahem) supposedly bright people that we could replace with them.......

Dan - to make you feel better - I have never eaten yellow snow and I don't like lemonade.  And I admit to such great hand-eye coordination that if I threw a lemon at Brian, I would hit Mutt right in the head.

Joe - mugged the mailman today - threw him right to the ground and pawed through the mail to pick out what I wanted.  Left "bill" with him and told him to help him up.  Mischief

Everyone knows I got a new puter, but figured out today that it is haunted.  It is upstairs in the 2nd bedroom/office.  I go down stairs every day around lunchtime to get mail and ......have lunch!  Normally I will put the puter to "sleep", but after about 45-60 min, the fan runs very fast which is very audible downstairs.  (it is very quiet when I am up here working)  I always cut short my time downstairs to get back up here and start working again so the fan won't run so hard.

Today I had an Xmas CD in - so I stopped it, opened up the CD door, lowered all windows and went downstairs.  Pretty soon I could hear Xmas music.  I came up to find that the puter had shut the CD door and started the CD playing.  Guess it gets lonesome when I am not up here.  Blush

Going to start sleeping with one eye half open...

Good grief, Monkie, you have one of those renegade computers that ran wild in some movie I watched a while back. Just wait till it jumps off the desk and takes off down the street after a cat.... We shall have to get up a special detail of computer catchers to help ye out. Please unplug it before that happens.

Quentin, I see that Erik Estrada is playing policeman in your fair city. Better watch out in case he's up to something that could land in a movie!

Yall take care

.....Hmmm....News of all kinds sure gets around.  You are correct Tom.  Erik is back in town to be recertified as a reserve officer.  Seems he comes back each year for recertifying.  And he will be riding with an officer on the night shift for a couple of days

In fact, he was at our Meijer's store today in conjunction with Police  and Christmas...toys, etc....He sure seems to take the police stuff seriously.

Temp right now:  24 degrees.  No snow.  This will be the coldest overnight of this season so far and our electric co. called to inform of power shutoff tomorrow morning at 9 am for about an hour and a half.  Of course we have a total electric home.   But...that's no problem.  We'll head out to Bob Evans and have a hour and a half breakfast....Ha.

Much excitement at present. Blue lights everywhere with spotlights probing every nook and cranny in sight. My dogs were having fits before the cops showed up... Somebody stole a motorcycle and the cops chased him here, and apparently, the whole shebang came through my yard and/or field, where they are poking around now. Details and film at 11.

Good Friday morning, everyone.  Nice and coold here in Louisville, KY:  21, with a wind chill in the upper single digits to low teens this morning.  Going to be a very cold day around here, with a high in the low 30s, might see 32 degrees for a high today.

Tom, sounds like you had a very interesting night around your house.  I hope they do find that person.

On the breakfast bar this morning:  cake doughnuts, yeast doughnuts, chocolate covered, cream filled doughnuts, chocolate covered, custard filled doughnuts, chocolate covered, cream filled long johns, and the following danishes:  apple, cherry, raspberry, strawberry and peach.  There are also blueberry muffins and chocolate chip muffins.

Please, everyone, stay warm today and keep safe and sound!

Morning everybody. It's 50 degrees at sunrise in Carolina, and that's supposed to be the high for the day, along with rain all day and most of this evening. After last nights excitement, I stayed up to see what turns up on the wireless. I have missed some good stuff the past few mornings, and of course, this morning, not the first blessed thing turned up..... Tomorrow, I will probably sleep in and the whole world will come a knockin'. Paula, thanks for breakfast, and yall have a great day

Morning all.  Current temp is 4, with wind feels like -2, and we might hit a high of 19 today.  Yup...that time of year!

I'll grab a plate of whatever is warm.

There was already a rescue/recovery of 3 kids stuck out on thin ice.  Two passed on and one survived.  The two that passed were older/younger brother and the only children in their family.  Be careful out there folks...
