Unless there's something special about it (ie, 2 cycle) or it's just really old (gas does eventually lose some punch), the gas should still work - check with a neighbor?

Otherwise check with your FD or local waste disposal folks for how to handle it.  Some places do have a household hazmat disposal program.

Gasoline does get "old"....It might be usable if still in the container but one should use an agent like "Stabl"...{not sure of spelling}, to prevent gumming in the carb. on small engines like Lawn tractors, etc.....Recommended to be added to fuel in the machines gas tank before shut down for the Winter season.

Years ago I remember I had trouble starting my Wheel Horse tractor and ever since I simply add the above mentioned product before I shut down for the winter and the unit {I have now}, will start right up in the Spring.

I wonder if my coach key will open the closet door.

Thank you, Larry for the effort.  Unfortunately, the key didn't work, and we still had to wait for the locksmith to open it up this morning.  Sheesh!!  What a 24 hours.  Glad it's over with!!!!Maybe next time, we need a sign put up that says, "BEWARE OF LOCKED DOORS!"

Guess instead of 'breakfast', we'll have brunch instead.  On the warmer bar:

bacon, sausage, eggs, country fried pork chops,  fried taters, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, cantaloupe, sliced tomatoes, bagels, bear claws, and whatever else you want.

You all have a good morning, and a great afternoon.  We're supposed to get up into the mid 70s.  Currently have 51 degrees showing on our thermometer.

In my neck of the woods Green Bay (1 hour north) is the closest fuel (gas/diesel) recycling and reprocessing center.  Otherwise it's Madison or Milwaukee.  IIRC the fee for the service is a bit steep but can't recall what it is.

70 is our projected high for today and tomorrow...absolutely disgusting!  Especially for November.  Anyone want these 70's?  You can have 'em!

Thanks for breakfast CW.  I caught two long trains yesterday near North Fond du Lac.  B768 (potash train) and Q198 (intermodal/stack) seemed to average around 10-12k' long!

Shy  giggle - CW - a 2nd honeymoon with Mutt in the closet?  How romantic!  Amongst the cleaning supplies, brooms, mops and toilet paper!  Sigh!

I have a puter and a phone book - so will do some checking on how to get rid of the gasoline.  It is about 2 years old, so don't want to risk it on the snowblower.  And I am dangerous with a telephone - who knows - I may end up being able to get rid of our hazardous material and the barking dog next door all at the same time.  Will tell them he is "hazardous" - to my ears!

To add to our "yard pets" - we have a hawk of some kind that is hanging around our back yard.  He managed to "get" a pigeon one day and almost got a squirrel yesterday.  He didn't see the driver standing about 15 feet from the squirrel, so swooped in and scared the goobers out of both of them.

I rather like having a hawk in the neighborhood - means we have a healthy environment in our area.  He will keep down the meeses as well as the "pet population".  Come to think of it - I didn't hear the dog last nite or this morning - Big Smile

Never fear - hawk isn't that big and dog sounds quite large.  Maybe my yelling at him to be quiet reached his owner's ears?  Naw - he and his mouf will be back too soon!

End of blog.  Time to snack!

Had to miss breakfast this morning anyway. Seems that with all the talk from my South Carolina connection (Thanks Grandpaw) I have to get the annual physical. That means nothing to eat for 12 hours and nothing to drink for 8. Three hours of being hungry and dry to go before the occasion.

In short, guys get the annual check up, I am told we live longer when we (us guys) go through the procedure.

I hope that lunch is a great one, I really look forward to it today,

Take care,

Quentin,

It's Stabil, IIRC. Way back when, when I worked on generators, it was almost a sure thing that I'd get a few small ones every summer that had gummed up carbs because they'd been sitting for awhile with no Stabil in them. It wasn't too bad to clean them up -- it just took awhile. Needless to say, they always bought some Stabil on their way out the door. It was a lot cheaper than having to pay for two hours of labor!

4.  Brats

5.  Hot dogs

Side dishes to go with the meats:  pork n beans, cole slaw, macaroni & cheese, steak fries

Good Tuesday morning, folks.  Well, I've gotten everything cleaned up from last night, and have things under way for breakfast.

Coffee's just about finished brewing, fresh juices ready, along with hot chocolate, hot water for tea, and hot apple cider.

On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning:  hot cinnamon rolls, bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, pork sausage links & patties, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, and you choice of hash browns or tater tots.

Temps supposed to get up between 78 and 80 today.  Should be a very good day.

You all enjoy your breakfast, and have a good day!

Good morning!

CW, thanks much for serving breakfast. I think I'll pour myself a cup of coffee and grab a bear claw while I am here.

We have 40 degrees right now here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and it is supposed to warm up here to about 74 later this afternoon. But our weather here is supposed to change dramatically in the next several hours, with thunderstorms by tomorrow morning and a good possibilty of snow on Friday. I reckon I'd better enjoy our nice weather while I still can.

Was Tom in at all yesterday? I kind of wonder how he's doing.

Nice day so far here - already 50 at 9AM.

As Carl points out at the lounge and CW mentioned above, get out and vote.  I was #17 at my polling place this morning.

Then we can find out what the winners are really made of....

Bearclaw and tea.  I'll be in the corner looking over EO26 again.

....56 degrees right now in Indiana and bright sunshine with a cloudless sky.  Been blessed with beautiful weather for weeks.

Voting, for us is complete....Did so, 2 weeks ago.  Even was a small line then with 4 machines operating in our City-County building.

Afternoon everybody.  Tom, glad to know you're doing better!!!! And, what's this discount you're talking about?Haven't you noticed that we do not have a cash register in here?  Everything is free in here, anyway. SmileCoolThumbs Up

And, speaking of free, lunch is now on the warmer bar:  our regular Tuesday Mexican Fiesta is now under way with all the different burritos, tacos, Spanish rice, fajitas, chimichangas, etc., along with tortilla chips and dips.

Sarah just called, she's on her way home.  Then, the three of us will go cast our votes on the election waters.

Produce truck showed up at 9:10 this morning, five minutes after the ladies came to open the door.  Today, we had:  cabbage, cole slaw mix, greens, spinach, apples, sliced carrots, and apples.  I was back home at 10:00.  When I left and came home, we had had 46 people.  Quite a bit down below the normal numbers.  Imagine all the others had decided to go to the polls first.

You all enjoy your meal, and see you all later.

Hello there Big Smile glad to see many people got out and cast their votes today. I was also very happy to see so many voters my age out there!!! (The youngin's) lol

It was a nice day here in Louisville, KY today it got up to about 75 degrees, it definitly was a nice day to be outside. I was ouside most of this morning into early afternoon at work. I got to work the hump RCO the first time today. Actually, I guess you can say I was in training on the hump. CSX last week put me in an RCO class. I really do enjoy the class and I also like runing the RCO box (It's like running a model railroad only in 1 to 1 scale) lol, but what I don't like about it is the "politics" behind it, espually...since some of the most dangerous jobs in the yard are now one man RCO jobs, and I'm still a "rookie" employee. Actually, I'm the youngest employee on the whole Louisville Division. Isn't that something???? ShockTongue

Mornin' all...time for a big breakfast!

Steak/eggs are ready to go so grab a plate!  If that's too much for ya I've got a few omlettes, a tub of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, and some fruit ready too.

I'm wondering when November will arrive (weather-wise) up here.  Got some more yardwork done but I fear this may be the 'calm before the storm' so to speak.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  Looks like another great day on tap, weather-wise.  Going back up to about 78 degrees today, and most temps are currently in the mid to upper 40s, if I heard the temps correctly.

Coffee, juices, and other beverages are ready.

On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning:  turkey bacon, sausage, tater tots, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, and, of course, bagels and bear claws.

Mookie, got your coffee mug down, cleaned it, and it's waiting for you to come in, and I'll make sure it's filled for you!!

Everyone, have a great morning.

Yep - Forecast for Saturday is rain and 40-ish.  At least there's not a lot of outside work to do on the "Murder Mystery" trains.

The heck with the bearclaw this morning.  I'm diggin' in!  Thanks, Dan!

Now that the campaign is over, we can sit back and see if the folks who got elected (all the way from dog catcher right up to the top) remember all their campaign promises.

Thanx CW/Dan - I am hungry this morning.  Celebrating the end of political ads!  Don't think I could have taken one more day of them.

While it is always sunny here in the diner, it is cloudy here in the TMW.  Prediction of snow flurries tomorrow in the north will end our wonderful November weather.

But one more day today with the south window open and very moderate temps.

Think I hurt myself getting the paper off the porch this morning - most news we have had in months!  Off to hammock....

Contrasting weather predictions.....Today, we have clear blue skies as we've been having....and tomorrow it is to be to 77 degrees here in our part of the mid west...central In.

The weekend will be cooler.

Should have enough of the breakfast menus for our West Coast friends who come in; for the rest of us, here's what's on tap for the rest of the day:

I have turkey club sandwiches w/your choice of fries or chips; bologna & cheese sandwiches; grilled cheese sandwiches; tomato soup, cream of broccoli soup.

Still trying to figure out something for our supper menu tonight.  Does anyone have any suggestions for me?!?!?!  My brain is still on the foggy side this morning (and we had not fog here this morning, outside), so would appreciate any and all suggestions!!

As others have said this morning, take advantage of this nice, beautiful fall weather.  Looks like Indian Summer is just about over for us all.  I don't recall if we are to start getting rain chances later on tonight, or if it will wait until tomorrow to come a knockin' at the door!!

We barely have 64 degrees here in Sioux Falls, and we have a 60% chance of a thunderstorm for later this afternoon and into tonight. I have looked at the web site of the Weather Underground and our chances of of rain tomorrow are greater, at 70% with a 60% chance of snow on Friday.

I did my patriotic duty last night and made the trek up to 1st United Methodist Church (roughly about a mile and a half from my house) to cast my ballot in the elections. In walking home though, I got somewhat disoriented and ended up walking an extra mile before I was finally home. The polls here closed about 2 minutes after I got home.

I kind of feel that my votes did not count, but at least I no longer have to listen to any political radio ads.

CW, for dinner tonight I might suggest beef stew and chili. I am going to make a big pot of chili, it's something I know how to do very well being that I have worked for the Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburger chain for almost two years. I have the day off and I will also provide a few loaves of homemade bread to go with our beef stew and chili. Chef
