Quentin; This is not a rumor . If one can trust the national news , the talking head said 3 mi. N/E of muncie Lobt or Logt oil co. has a green donky pump working to the tune of 3bbl. a day complete with storage tank.  The guy has his own drilling rig and is lookin' for investers.  All this was stated at 0730hrs. MST.  Mayhaps you go see for your self.  Does Selma still have one road going by or thru town ??

Ole'!

OK, now that supper's out of the way.

Big drill at work today.  Practice for the airshow at the end of June.  I was there to make sure that everyone knew how to use their two-way radio.  It's not as easy as it sounds.

We learned lots of lessons.

After work I was supposed to go to a planning meeting for a SADD (Students Against Driving Drunk) drill, very common at prom time.  Due to the two youngsters having exhibited the very qualities (and end result) we want the prom-goers to avoid early Sunday morning, the drill has been cancelled.  The principal thought long and hard on it, but some mental health experts advised against it.  Such drills generally include a "fatality."

This is the third or fourth time we've cancelled the once-every-two-years drill/demonstration (we get to show off how we handle such incidents, too), since each time one would have been held, a student died in a traffic accident in the months prior.

They just don't learn.

Got some tickets to print.

Nice dinner CW!

Chris - thank you so much for the flower.  I have the nicest friends here on the forum!

There are some grape iris across the street and I told the driver I could almost smell them! (they smell like -  grape juice!)

CW - Broccoli Slaw - yes it is very good.  You need to like broccoli, but it is very good.

Been a very busy day - had two things to do - some paper work and clip nails.  Nails didn't make it yet....still hope for this evening...  Thumbs Up [tup]

Q - I was going to buy a new puter and printer with Uncle G's refund - but now must hang on to the $ just in case.  Would love to work from home, but not sure just where to start looking for something like that.

Do have something in the wings, but have no clue where it will go, so will have to wait another week and see what happens with that.  Just like Congress, hurry up and wait.

Well, we went and did our duty, now we'll see who wins the different catagories tonight.

Also, I'm just about finished replenishing everything on the warmer bar, for our Tuesday Night Mexican Fiesta.

We did get something at Produce today, that is new to me:  broccoli cole slaw.  I do not recall ever seeing  that in the store before, and today is the first time I've ever heard of it.  Have any of you ever heard of it, and/or ate it?

I need to get my ears lowered too. I looked in the mirror and saw something between a punk rocker and mad scientist. Oy

Hey Mook,

Thought you could use a flower to brighten your day a little bit. This my favorite from a series I just did yesterday:

Hope things work out for you!

....Jen....I'd imagine there is an abundance of the "data work" being done at home now with the equipment and state of the art communication processes at our fingertips....and you sound like you would be a natural for that.  I'll bet  you can find someone or some place that needs that service.  And at so much nicer working hours.  Not the 3 oclock in the morning as a start time stuff.....Go for it.

We sure hope you are successful if you do try something like that.

Tom - being housebound is no fun.  I am just getting a little taste of it and I don't like it.

CW - I would love to do some data entry work here at home.  It is what I really enjoy.  That's why I liked my job so much - it was my hobby and home was my work.

Maybe dig out my crocheting and work along side the Driver while he knits.  Oh Goody!

CW, since you asked..... I am on the improve, but have a long way to go before this is over. I have 2 quack visits tomorrow and another Thursday, and I am sure I will be all quacked out when those are finished, It will be nice when I can get out and maybe go somewhere. Ah well, we all have our tribulations. Thanks for asking

Mookie, what are some of your interests, besides the obvious, of train watching.  What other line of work would you be interested in?

Tom, how are you doing, healthwise?  Hope you're improving daily.

Think we'll make it Mexican Fiesta Day today.  Got tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, beef & bean burritos, beef burritos enchilada style, Spanish rice, quacamole, refried beans, etc., out on the warmer bar.  And there are tortilla chips with all the sauces & dips on the tables.

Good morning Jen. I know what you mean. Finding something to do to keep busy can be a frustrating experience. At least you can go watch trains. At present, I am not allowed to drive until the quack turns me loose, and then it has to be the Amtrak station. The ROWs around here are so grown up that the trains are barely visible through the trees. Some day....... Take care

Anyone like raspberries?  A friend called this morning to tell me that I could have all of the bushes from their yard that I wanted-seems they got out of hand!  As that's one of my favorite fruits...I'm more than happy to oblige!  I think I've got a line on strawberry plants too...hehe.

......Cannonball:

Now that's a new one on me....Oil in Selma....!!  Any news of that must have been on Muncie's web page of the StarPress....Didn't see any word of it in the actual paper.  Nor on any of the Indy TV stations.

Don't see why it wouldn't pay with the retail of gasoline being where it is now...{Our high so far last week...$3.96}, and I'm sure looking for them to slide it up to the good 'ole 4 dollar mark before the Holiday.  And of course oil being $127 a  bbl. now.

We plan to hit the road Saturday to head east to the home land...Perhaps with all your time on the road you even know where our hotel is...Hampton Inn, Somerset, Pa., at the Pennsy Turnpike exit.  Always stay there visiting "home".

I'll put my ears up on the mentioned "oil deal" and see what's happening.  We'll let you know of any local news about it....

And our start in the diner:  Our start here this morning is 50.2 degrees and nice and bright in the eastern sky so looks like a sunshine start {at least}, for the day.

Hope it stays dry at least part of the day as today must be mowing day.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  Cannonball, good to see you dropped by last night.  It's always good to see you.  How're you and Shirl doing?  Hope all is well for you all.

Coffee, juices and hot water for cider and tea are ready.  On the breakfast bar:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, pancakes w/syrup, beagles & bear claws, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, and fresh sliced pineapple.

Since today is primary election day here, wonder how busy I'll be at Tuesday Produce this morning.  We'll be going to do our duty sometime after I get through with Produce.

I got my stool, and getting  Mookie's coffee mug down (actually, I have to get the stool to get all the mugs down), so I'm ready to pour coffee, as soon as she gets in.  Let's see, guess I'd better watch, and see how many coffee cups I need to get down off the shelf.

I'll take that for dinner! Dinner [dinner]

By the way, I resolved a major problem with my house's central air conditioning last weekend. It had a habit of NOT shutting down when the house cooled down to the right temperature with the furnace running but not blowing air. I fixed the problem by turning off the electrostatic air filter system, which probably was interfering with the digital thermostat we're using. The A/C repairman ordered a new thermostat that will work correctly with the electrostatic air filter, but it won't arrive until next week. Sad [:(]

Reminds me of an accident here some years ago.  It involved a fresh fruit distributor's truck which crashed in the median of the Interstate.  Unlike urban Interstates, we have places where you can't even see the other lanes, so there's plenty of room for something like that in the median without disrupting the opposite lanes.

Anyhow, a lot of fruit was spilled, but DOT figured it was organic and wouldn't hurt anything if they just left it to return to nature on its own.

They forgot about the critters.

So many car-animal collisions occured as the result of said animals crossing the Interstate to get to all that yummy fruit that DOT was forced to go back and clean it all up.

It will be a long time before I ever seriously think about biking my way from Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Louisville, Kentucky, and I mean a very LONG time! The thought of participating in a cross-country trip of perhaps only a couple hundred miles with other bikers does appeal to me, and there are cycle clubs that do this sort of thing. Even if I were to bike my way to Louisville, it would involve a lot of very careful planning and research in mapping out the route that I would follow. I am not into camping of any sort, although I could do it, but I wonder how long I can go without some of the basic necessities of life. In other words, I don't think I could go very long without having a good, hot shower. Dead [xx(]

In the Black Hills of South Dakota we have what we call the George S. Mickelson Trail, and it follows the old Burlington Route's grade from Edgemont, in the southern end of the Black Hills to Deadwood, which is in the northern Black Hills. Between these two points you would cover a total of 109 miles. Now I think THAT would be a fun trek.

....Always thought Doves were more on the gentle side.  In fact, I've wondered when they feed as they are most always seen sitting on the utility wires doing not much of anything.  I tried to mock them with their co...co....co....warbling with a whistle I can do with folding my hands and blowing, etc.....They pay no attention whatsoever.  Thought maybe I could speek Dove to them but my accent must be off.

On a more serious note...the birds around my house like chocolate.  Misty (fiancee) left a tray of brownies on the patio table to cool and came out to see several birds eating them.  She decided to leave the tray for them and within 2 days it was cleaned.  Ever eat a chocolate bird Mook?
