Good Sunday morning, everyone.  It looks like it's going to be another beautiful, gorgeous day around here today.  Think I slept like a baby last night (one that has left the newborn stage):  went to sleep about 9:20, 9:30, and slept until 6:30 this morning.  Guess I was really tired, after working out in the yard for awhile yesterday afternoon.  Do I have any requests for Sunday Dinner?  If so, please let me know.

Have a great morning, everyone!

Currently 57 degrees in Carolina with thunderstorms predicted today and tonight. Not a good day to be on the wireless! I shall have my usual fare this morning, with my thanks. Everybody stay safe. The cinnamon rolls here smell good, and thanks for making the coffee, Joe. We have a temp of 50 degrees here in Sioux Falls, and there is no wind right now, so it promises to be a very nice day here, with a high of 67. I was out on our bike trails with my Ross 12 speed last night and while I had the wind at my back for where I was headed, I had to fight it coming back all the way home. Hopefully there will be no wind when I hit the trail this afternoon. I'll take my camera with me and if I am lucky maybe I can catch a BNSF local along Southeastern Drive.

I hope the rest of you out there all have a good day!

Good evening everyone. Thanks for the calzone! Dinner [dinner]

Alas, the weather has been ridiculously hot today. Dead [xx(] It peaked at a frightening 103 degrees F. I hope the cold beverage machine at the Cafe is running properly serving your choice of Coca-Cola Company products. Smile [:)]

Sorry I missed the pizza (although I might warm some up for a bedtime snack).  Fire Department banquet tonight - prime rib.

Got a certificate for being in FD for 30 years, but it was not a surprise, as I printed all of the certificates....  The Firefighter of the Year and "Sanford Award" winners were surprised, though, and that was important.  The "Sanford Award" is named after our first apparatus (built by Sanford in Syracuse) and recognizes anyone who has contributed significantly to the business side of the fire department.

All in all it was a good party.

Time for bed.

Joe - I'm still looking at the possibility of a visit in August!

Well, it's almost 6:30, guess it's time I get supper out on the warmer bar.  Yes, we are having our Saturday Night Pizza Fest.  Here's the menu for tonight:

1.  Anchovie
2.  Cheese
3.  Goetta
4.  Hawaiian
5.  Pepperoni/mushroom
6.  Supreme
7.  Calzones

Desserts tonight:  chocolate cake, and the following dessert pizzas:  apple, cherry, peach and blueberry

Now, to go put the final touches on our supper here at home.  We're having country pork backbones (without all the bones), w/sliced white onions, and diced tomatoes, Italian, and corn on the cob.

I don't think I have ever talked to someone from NH - did know a nice young man from Jersey.  We used a lot of sign language for our conversations.  And my ex sister-in-law from Germany who learned her English in Boston.....

Jesse, you're certainly welcome Sign - Welcome [#welcome] at any time, just like the rest of us...as long as you "bring along" a yummy food donation for the rest of us diner regulars once in a while to share.

Welcome aboard, Jesse. You will find some nice folk here. Currently 62 and clear in Carolina this morning.I think I will have a double helping of pancakes and sausage and grape juice and a slice of that blueberry pie as a chaser. As you can tell, I's hungry this morning.

....Joe, understand you are to see Carl and Pat today....if you will, send a hello along from us here....I know they were to visit right in our home area of Pennsylvania on their trip and we wish them an enjoyable time.  Of course, maybe they are on their way back...but if not...

Lord willing we're headed that way next Saturday.

...Jess...I'd say all the diner folks will gladly welcome you to visit.  In my opinion, railroad interest is the most qualifying issue.

Our across street neighbors visit New Hamphire each summer.....and are about to head that way.  They go to Center Harbor and from there out on Winnepasaukee Lake to the island where they have a residence.

Good Saturday morning, everyone!  Mookie, I didn't wake up quite as early as you, but did hear the phone ringing at 4 a.m.!  Quit just as I was about to pick up the receiver.  Finally went back to sleep about ten minutes later.

Joe, thanks for getting breakfast ready this morning.  Everything looks real good.Dinner [dinner]

Jesse, Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the Flat Wheel Cafe.  We're always glad to have new people.  We don't have many rules around here.  Here's the list:

1.  Don't miff the cat or the cook

2.  No foul language

3.  No alcohol

4.  We talk about anything and everything around here, especially trains.

I don't know much about trains myself, but, like you, really like them, and still learning about them.  That is an education that will be going on until the day I'm no longer on this earth.

Here's your coffee, and blueberry pie.  Hope to see you in often.

Since this is my first visit to the diner I'd like to introduce myself, I'm Jesse Red Horse of the Blackfeet Nation and my rail road is HO size, I hope I can still get a cup of cybor Coffee while I'm here.

I didn't see any signs on the door so I don't know if you serve key board rail roaders or not, I'm sorry too say that I've been on very few trains in my life but I love them just the same.

Now how about some blueberry pie to go with this coffee?

Happy Rails, Jess.

I just discovered a business in Utah named  Mookie Motel. No relation I suppose.
Say - now there is a business possibility.  Motels have cleaning services - some vending machines - all the necessary things for a nap and maybe a coffee house close by.  I could do that - and for a small stipend, I could read their papers and test all the amenities!

Wonder if I will ever get used to not going to bed at 8:30pm and getting up at 3:30 am.....Well at least it is quiet - except on the police scanner - they are doing a brisk business.....

Got everything refreshed on the warmer bar, for our Friday Fish Fry.  Cole slaw and desserts are in the cooler.  Even made a couple more pies for supper (chocolate and blueberry).

Hope everyone has a good evening, and I'll try to be back in later on.
