Still need to pull up the link, and check that out.  Haven't really had the time to do so yet.

Well, we got out Trains Magazine today, and Ed's story is fabulous!  I could just imagine Rabbit seeing that little snake in Ed's pocket, and going beserk!!

I've just replenished the warmer bar with the chicken noodles and roast, taters, etc., so you all just mosey on over, grab a plate, and fill up.  I'm going to go watch Trains & Locomotives now.

.....And the sky wasn't quite dark yet at their 10 pm....and one could hear the thunder.  Just saw a 2 unit passenger train pass by towards the west...{Away from the camera}.  I heard birds chirping loudy this morning {our time}, as I watched and listened a while.

Hi everyone!  Dr. visit went well.  He was just wanting to make sure I wasn't having any chest pains, dizziness, and no numbness anywhere.  Don't have to go back to him, anytime soon, so that's good.

Have taken the chicken, noodles & veggies and the roast, taters, etc., out of the Crock Pots, and they're now on the warmer bar for everyone's lunch.    And have more of the same in both Crock Pots, cooking for supper tonight.

Tom,  hope your Dr. appointment goes well Wednesday!

Joe, you're very correct:  mugginess is creeping back up.  What little bit of breeze is blowing outside, you can't feel it.

Think I'm gonna go and try to take a nap.

Good Monday morning, everyone.  Looks like it's going to be a very warm day today.  Already at 70, 71 degrees, and I didn't hear what we're to make it up to today, probably upper 80s, low 90s.  But don't hold me to that.

Larry, I don't know how large our fire museum is, but, like the one you were telling about, it's by appointment only (except for this past weekend).

Coffee and fresh juices are ready.  On the breakfast bar:  turkey bacon, pork sausage patties, hash browns, BLTs, buttermilk pancakes w/syrup (maple & blueberry), bagels and bear claws.

Forgot about a doctor's appointment this morning, until right before I went to bed last night, when I remembered that today is the second.  Appointment is at 9:30 EDT, so guess I'll leave the house about 9, 9:10, and slowly walk over two blocks.  Sure is nice, having your primary care doctor's office only two blocks away from your home.

In case I'm not back by lunchtime (you never know how long you're going to have to sit in the waiting room, let alone once they call you back to an exam room), I've got a couple of Crock Pots going.  One has chicken, noodles & veggies in it, and the other has roast, taters, carrots & onion in it.

You all have a good morning, and I'll see ya later.

....A friend of mine close by to my home lived on a small farm at the edge of town and his dad used to back the hay wagon into the barn and drop the hay fork down into the loaded wagon and then hook a horse to the rope to pull the fork up and when it hit the top, it tripped a latch and the fork moved over to the haymow on a track and then was tripped to unload the load of hay, etc.....I was quite young then and thought that was pretty neat.

The DC fire museum, in station 3, is in the former hay loft (the pully for pulling the hay up is still there) and is by appointment only.  In fact, there is a notice posted that not more than 5 people can be in the museum at once.  It's a small, but nice, collection.

One of the stations we visited is first due at the White House.  Pretty cool.  Got a t-shirt and a patch.

Larry, the Louisville Fire Dept. had a big celebration this weekend, celebrating the 150th birthday of the Louisville Fire Dept.  Said it is the third oldest paid department in the country.  Walt saw a couple of our area's crew members up at Kroger yesterday.  Walt asked him if they would be serving any food on the tour, and the firefighter said, NO!"

Unfortunately, we weren't able to get to any of them yesterday or today, to make the tours.  We thought about it, but heard that the city had had such a positive response, the tours were all filled up.  Maybe they'll have another one, one of these days, and we'll be able to make it.  They were even giving tours at the fire museum here, but it was booked up also.

.....J:  I've been on the Dutch cam at a time I watched the sky lighten signaling that their night was ending.  And the speed of some of their passenger trains is brisk.

I'm surprised how long one can hear the trains coming before they actually pass the cam at the crossing.  And the many bicycles that one sees in the wee hours of night....It is certainly a different perspective in life style to what I believe is the norm here.

And Tom...I see you are in the very wide spectrum of bands of your wireless communication hobby.  Sounds great and good pass time for you I imagine.  I'm not a Ham, but have listened to our local fellows on 2 meter with my hand held scanner and have a good friend who's been in it for years and his father before him as well.

I use my scanner mainly to check railroad stuff but over the years {several scanners ago}, I listened to the local fellows.  Even while still working I'd be in early drinking my coffee and reading the paper and listening to the local fellows on the "wet net" each morning reporting their rainfall for overnight and then it's turned in to the Indy weather people, etc....

Red Horse - No problem with the pizza, I'm always glad to share!

Met the kids (and grandkid) in Balto for dinner yesterday, then returned to son's dark house in the aftermath of a pretty strong storm that took the power out.  Lights came on at about 11 that night.

Spent the better part of today touring the DC fire museum and several DC fire houses.  Pretty neat!

Right now I'm watching the grandaughter entertain herself...   Big Smile [:D]

Quentin, I do from 160 meters through 2 meter SSB, CW, and digital , and 10 meters through 440 on FM repeaters. The best mouser we have ever had was a poodle that we had for 15 years. She kept the place cleared out until she went blind. Good Girl..... Currently 90 degrees and a severe thunderstorm warning at present, but it looks like the heavy weather will pass south of us. So far, it has been a good day. Everybody stay safe

The Dutch railcam is the best I've seen. I enjoy getting on at about 11:00 PM our time (5:00 AM their time). At about that time, the chickens come out and wander around in the street for a bit. It's kind of become my tradition to watch the chickens before going to bed in the evening. It's too bad there aren't more railcams like it.

CW - that sounds so much better than the leftovers we have around the cat house!

Q/Tom - if you get a chance to go on the Dutch cam during the wee hours of the morning (their morning not ours) it is so peaceful.  I got in the other morning and it was raining - a nice quiet gentle rain.  It was very relaxing.

Mookie, here I am!  With a couple of mugs of coffee, and a couple slices of chocolate cake for us, and a cinnamon roll for each of us.  Man, this rocker feels mighty good this morning.  For some reason, I feel as if I've been in a Walk-a-thon this morning, and can hardly move.

Joe, welcome back, and glad that good news is still coming in from Virginia!!  And, thanks so much for getting breakfast this morning!

Jess, you better catch that mouse, and please be quick about it, all right?!?  I do not like mice, especially in my kitchen!!  I'll have to sanitize everything in the kitchen, before I can start working on our Sunday Dinner for today.

Speaking of which, I think we'll grill out on the patio today.  Some steaks, burgers, pork chops, brats, hot dogs, corn on the cob, "baked" potatoes on the grill, and have some baked beans, green beans, cole slaw, potato salad, and some macaroni salad, and slice some tomatoes.  How does that sound to all of you?!?!  I'll fire up the grill about 12:30, and start everything, so we should be able to eat right around 1:30.

Joe, Very glad everything seems to be going well in Virginia; hope that continues.

Jess, our cat really could care less about mice, she just looks at them; and then they

go to seperate corners; the dog will catch one every once in awhile (Husky/Shepherd

mix) as for me, I've named every mouse I've seen and been able to catch, and they

all have the same name: **********(Censored)

Mook, I think CW will be in shortly, something about getting coffee and chatting in

the garden.Confused [%-)]

....Isn't that Dutch rail cam a winner....Haven't looked at it since we returned from the east a few days ago, but will do so sometime today.  They really have the trains going by....rather fast too.

Much shorter trains.  Of the one's I've counted, about 35 to 40 cars in the consist seems to be the avg.  And the way one can hear people even on bikes passing by...

66 degrees here in sunny Indiana this morning.  Calm and looks like it will be a rather nice day.  Believe we do have a chance of some rain in the PM.  The storms night before last really did rip in to many locations here in our midwestern town's and especially massive Indy.  Haven't heard of any fatilities though....a good thing.

Next is get ready for church and then lunch....where....?  Then must check {at least part of the Dover race}.....That should be a wild one today.  Nasty track to race on.  It reaches out and bites drivers rather quick when least expected.

Everyone have a good Sunday.

PS:  Tom...do you do 2 meter Ham too...

Good morning Americans, it's Sunday. Currently 73 degrees and looking for thunderstorms in Carolina this afternoon and tomorrow. Not a good day to play with the wireless at all... I ate breakfast here this morning, so will pass on the goodies. Jimmy Dean stopped by and left some sausage croissants. I couldn't help meself and pigged out. I think I will spend some time on the Dutch railcam today. I grow fonder of it as each day passes. Everybody stay safe

Good bright, sunny Sunday morning to all.

Tom - you must have been very alert cuz I slept like a person with no worries!

Joe - sounds like good news from your area!  Plus you get to go to work!  Can't beat that with a stick!

Jesse - sure-fired mouse catching technique - had a mouse that I could not catch, even tho I had two cats in the house.  Enter 1 slight-built girlfriend, one JFK type rocker with canvas seat straps and two cups of coffee.

Mouse got under seat cushion and was gnawing on the canvas, girlfriend sat down on chair not knowing about said mouse and after she left a few hours later - bingo - dead mouse in perfect condition, under chair.  We even made the Omaha paper on that one. (entertainment column)

So try suffocation - it works really well.  Girlfriend still available - not sure about travel.

CW - coffee in garden?  I will go start the rockers in motion.

Good Morning all.

Boy is Larry going to be mad when he finds out I ate a slice of his Hawian pizza, I couldn't help myself...Lol!

I've been here all night trying to catch this darn mouse before breakfast, the thing is a crafty as they come, I set a spring loaded trap and could hear him laughing as the thing snapped my fingers, I don't use poision because it is crule.

I brought my Jack Russell Terrorist in thinking that she would get rid of him and when I came back out into the dinning area from the walk in freezer I caught the mouse and my JRT playing cards, I can't seem to win this one.

Oh well, I give up, the mouse wins and on the drive home my Jack Russell Terrorist informed me that the mouses name is Carlton.....great, just great!

Have a good day everyone and if you turn your back and find a small bite mark in your sandwhich you'll know that Carlton is alive and well.

PS. Don't tell the health code inspector about Carlton or my dog said he was moving in with us!

Yikes.

Willy - a perfect day in the true midwest!  In low 80s, south breeze, few clouds.  Very nice day!  Got to see a few trains, sit in the park and Driver got to do a little fishing.  You did good!

CW - will have a slice of pizza - just can't make up my mind which one.  I just barely tasted most of them, but can't decide...

Oh well, kinda full right now....

Welcome home Joe!

Hi Elofan Jim!  Glad you were able to pay us a visit, here in the Flat Wheel Cafe!  You know you're welcome in here all the time!!

I am doing much better; thank you for asking.  Beginning to have more problems with the left knee, but guess that's par for the course, with having to put more 'pressure' on it, to help the right knee continue healing.

Did you, by chance, go back a few pages, and see the pictures that were taken last Saturday, of the RJ Corman steam special that went through our area?

Now, it's time for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest.  On tonight's menu:

1.  Anchovie

2.  Cheese

3.  Goetta

4.  Hawaiian

5.  Pepperoni/mushroom

6.  Italian sausage

7.  Supreme

8.  Calzones

And the following dessert pizzas:  apple, cherry, peach and strawberry.

Also have plenty of iced tea (sweetened & unsweetened) and  soft drinks.

Enjoy your pizzas, and everyone have a great evening!!  (Larry, I saved a few slices of the Hawaiian pizza for you.  It's in the fridge, with your name on the container.
