Tree - how apropos - I feel like I just fell out of one.
Busy weekend - very warm on Sat, but enjoyed Willy and Mom visiting the watch site. BNSF was admirable once again. They seem to know when company is coming and they put on quite a show. Willy was even about an hour late, so they waited for him to arrive. Such nice people - on both sides!
Went trackside yesterday and went from 80 degrees to 60 during a good gust of wind. Then rained all night and quit just before departure time this morning. All headed east, so enjoy.
Had to call several nice young men in Fort Worth this morning. We spotted a badly bent track on one of the south tracks in and out of the yard. It is just past a switch point and really makes the loaded coal cars rock and roll. It is only a few feet from where the 4 loaded coal cars derailed a few months ago. They just finally got that mess cleaned up a month or so ago - and don't want another mess. I imagine when we go by there tonite, they will have someone pushing a few rocks around. Bet the around 1 inch of rain overnite didn't help it either!
Congrats Willy!!! I am so proud!
Off to find coffee....

An anniversary! Cool. Keep up the good work.
Three days in a row (so far) on the railroad. Over 500 "leaf peepers" each day - with the attendant chaos.
Back down there tomorrow.

wooohooo it's birthday got any cake back there?
Now I can go to the hobby shop
Big90mack, I'm guessing you mean your birthday?! and welcome. I'll get you a piece of cake, and we'll go out on the Patio for the celebration. We can't light candles on cakes in here;
because the Fire Supression system is so sensitive that a single candle will set off the sprinkler system. (we need to get the bimetallic strips changed so they don't melt at
such a low temp, just set off the smoke detectors.)
Hope you have a good trip to the Hobby Shop, find something for one of our layouts here in the Coffee Shop.(Z, N, HO, S, O (both 2 & 3 rail) G scales) (and if you can find a wayward something, 1 to 1 scale!!)

Good Afternoon!
My visit with Mookie Saturday was excellent. BNSF put on an amazing show with 15 trains (including two light engine moves and a Loram Rail Grinder) in 2.5 hours. At one point there were three trains moving and a fourth waiting to get a green signal at once. Not too bad of a day.
That's all my news for today. I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
Willy
Walt you were correct. The order of appearance was like some of my coworkers productivity: totally random chance!
Caught a pair of UP SD70s last night in Neenah on a CN manifest SB. Nice break from black and red!

CNW 6000 wrote:Lots of lawn work today plus a run to the dump and cleaning the house. What happened to my day off? No trains for me, I'm afraid. I'll pop back in for the Pizza Fest.
Dan, Shouldn't that be clean the house and then make a run to the dump?!
Usually, that's what happens here.
(although, it must be the same everywhere, get rid of some things and then go buy other stuff to fill the empty places.)
I was able to get out of the house today, for a change, actually made it to the LHS for a few odds and ends. Saw a train or two, but didn't take camera this time.
Joe and Stacey, A VERY HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!
CW, thank you much for making the pizzas for tonight! I think I will grab a few slices of the Canadian Bacon while I am in here.
To Joe and his bride: HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! I hope that you will have many more happy years together, and may God richly bless your marriage.

Joe and Stacy, Happy Anniversary and many returns. God bless both of you and your family.
It's warm up here...whew! Next year I wait until November to take the A/C out of the house!
Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a nice day today. Even though it's very hot around here. Like Willy said, it sure doesn't fee like autumn anywhere around here!
I'm sitting at the work station in the kitchen, making up the pizzas for tonight. Work on a couple of pizzas, then get up and walk a little bit, then come back, sit down, and work on two more. The pizzas will be ready at the normal time, 6:30 p.m. EDT. On tonight's menu:
Canadian bacon, cheese, goetta, Hawaiian, pepperoni/sausage/mushroom, and supreme. Three of each, same as always.
Hope you all enjoy the pizzas, and have a great evening.
Joe and Stacey, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

Y6bs evergreen in my mind
Afternoon everyone...
Just got to my parents place from downtown Chicago this morning, managed to find my way around the low bridges and not hit anything with the trailer, though I did have my load shift after a rock box pulled out in front of me yesterday. Luckily, everything stayed on the pallets, and we didn't break any beer bottles.
Will take some fish fry, if that's what we are having for dinner....

Good afternoon!
Hot, humid, and windy here today. Not at all like October is supposed to be. Looks the same tomorrow and then tons of rain on Sunday.
And speaking of tomorrow, I will be visiting Mookie in Lincoln tomorrow morning to do some train watching. Hopefully BNSF will be nice to us!
Have a great weekend, everyone!
When sneaking into a drive in movie, you can get three people in the trunk of a Nash, but only if the first person in doesn't breath....

....Good morning everyone.....and yes, J: The little car you speak of was a Nash...but produced in England and imported here. I'm not sure of exact era...but I believe it was roughly 1960....I stand corrected, if necessary.
Correction: '52 to about '61.
Quentin
juice coffee and some lemonade are ready to go today.glad to see mookie back.Modelcar would like to go for a pair of pants and get a deal for a car.time to get matt on the bus.today is picture day at school.
^~^ OK - If y'all can I can too!
Sometimes I just need a few days to ponder why some people just thrive on being nasty. Then, being an optimist, I realize that most people are very nice.
So I will have a cup of coffee and a big piece of chocolate cake and make a suggestion....instead of a full menu, maybe just make this a coffee house. Little coffee and lots of general conversation. And as Quentin does - it doesn't have to be just about trains.
And speaking of Quentin, do you remember the metropolitan? Black and white? Wasn't that a Nash? Is that the absolute smallest car ever made?
CW & friends, I guess when the track siding is full , you just go to the next switch ahead and throw the switch ( if ya' have the key ) lol .Being a trucker Iam used to huntin' an address . Fortunately, this time I didnt' lose my name / rank and serial number. Also this old hide is not thin skinned , so not offended easily ~~~~ hoo haw ! Thanks to all you fine folks who took care of the Diner before the train wreck happened last week . CW, glad to see ya' back . Will have a cup of coffee & a slice of the house cake ( chocolate of course) . ~~~ With all due respect to all you folks
Cannonball
.....I'll tell you a strange part of how I got that car....Jean {girl friend at that time}, and I headed to Johnstown to do a bit of shopping that day...I really was looking for a pair of pants.....and stopped at the Edsel dealer {recently changed from a GM Dealer}, and the manager had to sell his Corvette as it didn't fit in with the new "Edsel Dealership"....! So, after finding out about this....I stopped and looked and it was a beauty....Both tops, and all black. Red interior. 6,000 miles on it.....Don't remember if we ever did get me a pair of pants that day, but I drove that Corvette home. Traded a very nice '55 red / creme Bel Aire hardtop with power pac 180 horse engine on it....It was quite a day of shopping.
Matt had fun with his cousins today at the village.going to be a nice weekend for vacation.here is some popcorn for the late night snackers.
