JB stop leak nothing....No doesn't work. Like a putting a Band-Aid on something, it's not going to last.

Always have to get to the root of the problem to repair something. There are no quick easy fixes.

Such a shame Steven. My brother-in-law is coming from Wisconsin tomorrow night to spend the weekend with me.  He is the Builder of my Mustang Mach 1 engine.

If you were my neighbor. You would be troubleshooted by a Master Ford Senior Tech. For free,  just because you are my friend.

I hope the best for you with this. I wish I could help.

I will talk to my brother-in-law when he's here about your AC problem just in case you don't have it resolved yet. I will follow up with you if information is still neededWink

Evening all.

Steven does your A/C stop blowing cold or stop blowing altogether. Ask Google and you will get your answer.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/640736-a-c-cuts-on-and-off-with-acceleration.html

My F-350 has been a money pit except for the engine 7.3ltr diesel. I find I can fix most things once I look online.

Great vid ED.

Daughter had the first day back to school today and all the teachers and students just wanted to ask about her brother being in Deadpool. He is also being pestered a lot about it back at University. All this attention over a few seconds here and there of screen time. Seems a little over the top to me. I had a small surgery today and the first thing the Doc said was, that he saw the kid in DP.Laugh I must have got the Dad of a movie star rate on the surgery as it didn't cost me a cent.LaughWhistling Our kids went to the same school for 13 years.

I had a chunk cut out of my face as it looked nasty as in precancerous. That's what working outside for 38 years will do to you. The Doc said it will leave a dent where he cut it out and he will fix it if I want. ( he is a well known plastic surgeon) I told him I am old and already married so I don't need to worry about the vanity side of it. We will see how it looks when it heals.

I was supposed to only be in for a consult but because I was his last patient of the day he said we can do it right now if you want, I said let's go!

He froze my face up including my nose and that made me have a major sneezing fit. He laughed and said that it happens all the time. Watching him put bits of me into the lab specimen bottle was interesting. He then cauterized the wound with his magic wand at which time I asked him when he stopped using gunpowder. He said last week but I think we still have some around if you would prefer.Laugh

Lots of smoke rolled in from South of the border tonight, you guys should really give up that habit.Laugh The wife already washed all the drapes thinking we were done with it, they did smell pretty smokey.

Well, I am feeling sorry for myself, think I'll go eat some ice cream, even the dogs have a look of concern on their faces, I'm lookin that ugly.Laugh

I'll go check the kids casting pages for gory horror movies. Maybe I can get some work, no makeup required.Laugh

Night all.

Hey Brent:

Sorry that you had to have a few chunks removed but not doing so would have a much worse outcome! I had a chunk of my left arm cut out in 2010 for the same reason. More recently I went to a dermatologist to have a small crusty spot on my ear looked at. He said that the spot on my ear was the least of my worries and proceeded to have his assistant apply liquid nitrogen to a whole bunch of pre- cancerous blemishes on my arms and neck. I have to go back in a month to see if they got everything. I suspect that there will be more freezing treatments. The spot on my ear has not cleared up and I have so many imperfections in my skin that I'm sure they will want to take some more out.

Recovering from the nitrogen freezing was ugly! I had large patches of skin that were red and swollen, and then they started to dry out and peel off. I looked like a Yak in spring! Ucch!

That's what I get for driving a convertible in my youth. Parents - remind your kids to protect themselves from the sun!

Sorry for the graphic descriptions!

Twilight Diners

I am bored on a technically Friday Morning. I am taking a four-day weekend as my brother-in-law is coming to visit me.

I just thought this was funny.  I was scolded earlier tonight.

When is the last time any of you have been scolded?

I came home after a hard day's work, eased into my recliner chair and I was scolded by my Dear Sweet Judy.

I just wanted to relax for a little while after work......  Then are you kidding me!  Judy wanted me to go grocery shopping. I got scolded cuz I didn't want to go for a while.

What is this!  Please do tell me! Do you guys still get scolded?

Well I went grocery shopping. I don't think I needed to be scolded because I still went.

I am like Timex, I can take a licking and keep on ticking  I could probably agree I deserved scolding 20 years ago,  Now now so much.

????? Thoughts ThanksTongue Tied

When is the last time any of you have been scolded?

Well, not scolded but I was a bit embarassed, and maybe could (should) have been scolded.

While I'm w**king on the layout I take care of laundry chores. Afterall, it's an automatic washer, what can go wrongDunce.

Well, I gathered up a few odds & ends from arounfd the house including a small comforter that the cats had been lying on and got all full of cat hair.

The next day when I brought everything up from the laundry room was when I found out one of the comforters was hand crocheted from 100% wool (no wonder the cats liked it so much) and I shrank it to about 60% of its original size. Embarrassed Crying

Mrs. Pullman took it in stride (maybe she's planning on washing one of my brass engines this weekend Pirate) but I felt bad, still. Of course, I did the honorable thing... and blamed the cats!

Glad you folks liked that 765 video. She's coming to Cleveland next week, maybe I'll get back down to see her again.

Dave, If I went to the doctor to get something crusty removed all that would be left is a pair of shoes!

Track fiddler
I could be right I could be wrong.... I've had my share of problems with switch relays with my Fords

A fellow I worked with burned his house down, well his Crown Vic did anyway. Bad cruise control switch in (near?) the master cylinder caught fire, car was in the garage, garage was under the house. I guess on a Ford, the switch was hot all the time.

I recall my old 1963 Cadillac had a "throttle kickdown switch" that would cut-out the AC compressor when you jumped on the accelerator (and the other two barrels opened up) I'm sure that's not Steven's problem but I remember all those little things that could cause some head-scratching when you're trying to diagnose something.

Happy Friday, Everyone Cool

Regards, Ed

Morning!

TF, Brent, the other day it did the "Flop" where it stopped blowing out of the regular vents but still was running. Then yesterday bout every time I accelerated from a stop it would still blow but it would be uncooled air as if the "Vent" setting was on instead of "Max AC".

My truck is giving me trouble, when I'm accelerating to highway speed the AC stops blowing cold. I turn it off and on again and it starts blowing cold.

That isn't one of those deals where the vehicles computer shuts off non-essential things at times to allow more power, is it?  Nowadays they call that the "economy mode".

Ford A/C will cycle normally, however its sounds like a low pressure situation.

and if the air flow is shifting to the floor or windshield when you accelerate you have a vacuum leak.

Afternoon folks!

They finally appeared to have the heat off today over at the fieldhouse.......  It is 74°F here in Geneva at the moment and that is the high for the day.  My walk was very pleasent I might add.

Yesterday I tried to mow the lawn after we had some rain.  Lawn was very tall so the cuttings came out a bit soggy, but I got about 3/4 of it done.  Would have finished, but I also found a very large nest of of the ground dwelling Yellowjackets right next to my Air Conditioner fan assembly...  I did see the activity right after I hit the opening with my EGO Lawnmower.  Actually without the noise from a gas engine, the wasps didn't seem too concerned.  I did decide to wait until they were mostly in the nest for the night to continue and hit it with about a can and a half of wasp spray....  I did that over two periods.  The first was too early and the nest got very active when I hit with the remains of the first can.  I did get stung once, on my finger, by one that found its way to where I was (around 20' away).  I decided to wait a bit longer and went back in to have dinner.  One wasp somehow (probably was on my hat) got in the house.  She was dispatched without a problem useing a flyswatter....  Went back out when it was getting dark and hit the nest again.  There were still a lot of them coming back to the nest at that time, but I soaked the opening good.  This morning I only saw one flying around near the nest.  I'll check later this evening to see if they are all gone...

Need to finish the lawn in a bit, and then get back to work for the NMRA Division...  We have a lot going on right at the moment and I need to be proactive in having the calendar done yesterday, so to speak.

Ouch! Sadly, wouldn't be the first time that's happened. I saw a few weeks ago that a toddler in Colorado had crawled into a front-load washer and one of the other kids had started it! On the new ones, the door locks when it is running, too! Fortunately a parent got the kid out in time...

The parents just got the machine and had not read the "Child Safety Feature" chapter in the manual. Whistling

Good afternoon .

Kevin ... You mentiomd in another thread, you may be traveling in TN, KY, IN, and OH ...... If you care to include western KY, feel free to plan a layout tour here. ... If you are driving to Indianapolis via Nashville, compare routes. The distance from Nashville to Indianapolis via Louisville is about the same as the distance via Hopkinsville and Evansville. I am west of Hopkinsville on US 68 at Lake Barkley.

NWP Steven:

Couple of comments about your A/C. First, if your A/C unit is leaking, as buddy said, it is difficult at best to determine. (Shops put dye in the gas to determine the source of the leak. It is not discernible by the naked eye as it is an invisible gas.) What your buddy saw was water dripping off of the unit. The compressor gets cold, water vapor condenses on the unit, water drips off of the unit.

Second, the cut-off of the unit when you accelerate hard is by design. When there is a significant load on the engine from acceleration, climbing a steep grade, etc., the compressor shuts off to relieve some of the demand on the engine. The fan continues to blow, but the compressor is no longer cooling the air. If the engine is not running well, the cut-off will happen more frequently.

 Afternoon Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer and Ulrich, Rick and Steven what they like.

Did a lot of running today. Even with only working 3 days a week I spend most of my 4 days off running around?

Ed Enjoyed the video as well! If I counted right the Berk was pulling 18 Passangers cars.

Steven was the A/C working right before you started hacking on the air cleaner? With the age of the truck a vacuume line may have cracked where you cannot see it. Could all so a bad Blend Door unit, it controls the vents. If you roll down the widows can you still hear the A/C compresser running?

  Later, Ken

Afternoon folks,

I'll post a picture of the modification I made to the air cleaner "snorkel".

It actually worked really well today only cut out twice but came right back on.

I think it's 1 the load thing, weird it's just now happening. And 2 the charge is low, reasoning is the compressor cycles on and off frequently, like it's on then cuts off and right back on again.

It could be vacuum related, but the weird thing is it still blows full blast just it's not cold air.

Hopefully my check will clear tomorrow and I can go get the O2 sensor.

I'm hoping to make the run to PullAPart to get a set of GT40 heads and intake for my truck, the intake will be soon heads farther down the road.

And I hope I can convince my parents to let me buy (with my money of course) some Walthers cornerstone kits.

Sorry for the graphic descriptions!

That's the topic of today, Friday's Dilbert comic.

I had a lesion shaved last week, myself.  I had an aunt and uncle with skin cancer.  They lived in Southern California.  It killed my uncle.  I have another friend who had a Mohs procedure.  That is where the excise the tissue, examine it and excise more.  They eventurally got down to his skull.   It took another 6 procedures to get skin coverage for the wound.

I also had a quack for a dermatologist.  If they biopsy two things at the same setting, the second is reimbursed at 1/2 price or less.  She outright refused to biopsy two things at once and wanted me to come back every 3 months.
