Chamomile tea, please.

Hope everyone is doing well. Finally have a couple progress pics on the future layout additions. Have two tables and 8 legs made so far. It's a start.

Cheers! Rob

Yes Ken she really is Cuban. Born in Cuba on her families plantation which Castro stole when the commies took over ( that jerk has the audacity to say America owes him money ! Grrrrrr! What about every thing the commies stole from its citzens and Americans ) She was very little when they came here with just the shirts on their backs and lucky to have that. They worked in garment sweat shops in NY and eventually she grew up and put herself through school and has done well for herself and family - very proud of her - Ken I will shoot you an email later.

Uncle Bob - what year was Agnes ? Dont remember. Was it mid 60s ?

Garry - The test are all done. Tomorrow I go in for the results. I assume it is not to severe or they would have called me in right away. I do know they found some "issues" just not sure of teh results.

Lion - glad you made it back

Galaxy - be very careful about choices of house. If you have any questions send me an email and I will help you out.

All the rest Hello !!!!!!!!!!

Been laid up since last Thursday. had a fight with the tractor - it won - beat me up pretty badly fortunatly the doctors said no broken bones...just severe brucing and strains. Eating a lot of IBP daily so I can still move. Jeez like someone said growing old isnt for the faint of heart. My daughters dislocated arm is healing well. Positive report from the doctors on Friday for her. Other than that life is GREAT.

G"d Morning Gang,

Chloe, when you get a moment, could I please have a Double Denver with Home Fries and a large chocolate milk. Thanks...

Our Buddy Flip was asking a little about the LM&E and I tried to send him a picture by e-mail, but I couldn't get it to go through.  So I though I would put it here and let you all have a look see.

I had to fix my glasses yesterday for almost a full day but I couldn't fix them. Somehow the screw was loose and tried screwing back in. That didn't work so I took it apart and found that it was placed in diagonally sideways and forced to fit. So I went to the frame fixer to fix them and he managed to fix it.

well, we went up $500, the seller went down $500 is all the movement today, and seller wants US to install the radon mitigation system. EPA says it must be installed. We won't do it, it was on the sellers inspection they tried to hide {actually HAVE hidden from us} We WILL do our own, but they insisted.

MAY not happen as if it gets too late in the year we won't buy and wait till springt o look again.

We did look at another house down the road, paint would help, but: the basement is sturated with animal urine! [and probably fecal too} They had a whirlpool tub inthe walkout basement, and plugged it into a 110 out let, it fried the outlet too! no wonder it was empty...It was listed at $2k above our current listing...but worth only half ourr lsiting...

Boy I will be glad when I am done with this fence project! As soon as I think I have a plan I find something on the internet that says it a bad idea! Bang Head Guess that is no surprise. In the body shop business there is a old saying. Ask 10 driffrent body repair people how to fix a dent, you will get 10 driffrent answers.

YGW Glad to see you here in the dinner.

Good Mornin', Feller's,

Well, the seller came down a bit more, so we are now just $3500 apart, we really cannot go much more than our offer without seller concessions, and they don't want to pay sellers concessions, so if that is the case, we cannot go higher as we pay all $6500 cosing costs. Plus we have 10% down and then have to retire a Credit Union loan of $5k at closing.

FIL WAS going to help with it, then turncoated on us and really has been trying to get us to move in with him since before MIL died. WE DON'T Want his hous {multi level-5 levels}, and MOH will sell it when FIL is gone. So why would we move in when 1} MOH and FIL do NOT get along, 2} we DON'T want the house why move in, and 3}we'd be at FIL's beck and call! I would be the "house slave' and he'd expect gormet dinners all day long, and me to wait on him hand and foot, and We'd have NO privacy if you know what i mean. {not quite that, but ,...}, he is always {when he can},IN OUR business, and would be every day if we lived with him!! He has no life of his own, and we'd be his direct target....then.

So that is wherethe house hunt goes. We DID look at a house priced hte same, with an extra half bath, and 500 more sf, but the finished basement had had animals urine and *** in  the rug and the walls were damaged. walk out finished basement woud have to be totally gutted, redesinged and treated for the animal gunk. Not our idea of fun. Th colors of the house were garish and needing a total paint job as well as new windows too, and updated electric.
We aslo looked ONLY at a house in the 100 and 500 flood zones, so we only LOOKED for comparison.New carpet, new wood vinyl in kit, COMPLETE NEW KIT. Liked the kitchen nice job on it. but not in a flood zone, We will look at another house above the flood zone alter on this week. But it also had cheap windows, all seals cracked.

Ah well, we will see whats what.

have a great day.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have the #2 special, over easy on the eggs, bacon, homefries, and a double order of sour dough toast to go along with a large pot of Seneca Lake Blend Dark Raost Coffee this morning.

Had a busy day yesterday....  I know, so what else is new!  Seems like every time I finish up one job needing to get done around here it leads to 3 more that need to get done.  Finished the lawn mowing, set up my step ladder where I could remove the small air vent that goes to the "attic" in the shed.  Had a long question and answer meeting about the Health Insurance goings on for us retired teachers from the local district in the evening.  Got home, waited untill after dark and emptied a large can of wasp spray into the attic, then waited outside and finished off a few as they tried to escape out the openings they had been using.  Haven't been out to check yet, but hoping I finally have gotten rid of the nest.

I got a call back last night from the painter.  Says he will stop over and give a look see on the painting I want done.  Also told me not to expect it to get done right away as he is (as always) over booked for jobs to get done.  Now I just need to hear from the plumber....

So Galaxy, just keep playing the waiting game....  Hope it turns out good for you folks.  You are absolutely right about not moving in with FIL!  That would not be good at all...

Hope you all have a great day!  I need to get out and use the string trimmer around the property.  Catch you all later!

Morning everyone,

I did yardwork this morning in the cloud with no sun but that didn't stop the sweat flowing down my face.

I did some research on my NYC boxcars for my layout. One was converted into a feed car in 1961. The other one surprised me, I have a early bird xm that was made in 1957 and the website that mostly all of them were converted in 1957 to carry auto parts. (doors, engines, etc).

Am I digging to deep for information that suppose to be a small switching layout?

Howdy, Folks!

Just dropping by to say hello and enjoy a good cup o´ coffee in here. Nothing to report from my side - life is rather dull and boring these days. I have not yet touched the kit my son gave me for my birthday - I still don´t dare to take up the challenge.

Today´s mail also has a surprise gift for me from my Swiss friend:

... and this one:

The loco and the railcar make up a considerable value, but in the accompanying card he wrote it´s a thank you for the many times I helped him with his layout. I feel ashamed Embarrassed

I will have to get some 12 mm gauge track to get them running!

Galaxy - when you are about to buy a house, patience is a virtue that literally pays off. Remember, it´s still a buyer´s market! Be prepared to walk off if the seller does not accept your bid - he´ll be coming back soon. If not - there are plenty of opportunities in the Binghamton area!

Just take your time!

Hello all

Lion - ROAR to you too : )

Ulrich - I think it is long past time that you start building some track. Time to get back in the game my friend !!

Galaxy - I am with Ulrich on the waiting. Dont push it "Lord willing and the creek dont rise" there will be a home just right for you two. And maybe some MRR space !!!!

Angel - The word "yardwork" just saying it makes me sweat !!

Ken - Thanks glad to be back.

Uncle bob - I think you are right. I was about 11 years old then. I was absolutely amazed at the storm and damage. I have never seen flooding like that since.

Johnboy - Nice photo. Some questions what type of track did you use ? How did you get the water to "drain" and stay in place at the weep hole in the retaining wall. Very impressive.

To all who are lurking or just checking in or havent had time to post - Hello hope to see you here.

Galaxy - I will check out teh PM. Shoor me an email next time you will get a faster response.

(knock, knock, knock....)  Hello?  Hmmmmm.  Door is open, lights are on,  Oh!  Hi Janie!  Where is everyone?  (Janie srugs....)

Well, I will have a large slice of the Carrot Cake and a cuop of decaf to tide me over for a while.

Uncle Bob and YGW, yep Agnes hit the Southern Tier of NYS and the Northern Tier of PA the last week of June, 1972.  My oldest son was all of 5 years old and his little brother was 2.  I was driving a 1971 Super Beatle and my wife had a beat up old 1961 Beatle.   When we decided to take a shopping trip to Elmira late that summer we had to take old NY rte. 17 and some back roads as the new Rte. 17 had some bridges that were unsafe and had to be redone.  They were brand new, only a couple years old at the time.  We didn't attempt to drive to Corning until the year after that.  I'll have to get out our old photo albums and see if we took any photos of the "Valley"  (Waverly, Sayre, and Athens) during that time.  If I can find anything I will post them.

I've been doing more repotting of plants for the house.  Marked off a spot for the last of the raised beds (the second one I was going to build last April....), cleaned out a lot of junk from the steel storage shed (that will be going bye, bye...) and found some stuff my son wants.  I have a "Super Duper Pooper Scooper"  hand made by my FIL many, many years ago.  It was given too me to help clean up after Chuckie the dog back 30 years ago +.  Since I don't have a dog, and the one given to my son has totally worn out, he was excited to get the one I have.  I also will give him my splitting axe and wedges for splitting firewood, and a few other things.  All that is already loaded into the PiP to take over to his house on Thursday when I go to watch the girls while he takes his wife out for dinner and a movie to celebrate their 10th. anniversary!

Catch you all later...

  Evening Dinners

Flo, Beer's please and keep them coming.

What a day today! Some good, some bad. Day started off wiht my wife telling me she head a thumping sound when she dove the car. So I took it for a test drive and all I heard was tire sounds. Car needs tires badly, left rear is bald. So I planed on calling Bob (loacl shop) and order some tires.

Got to work and all heck broke lose! It was a great day with $4300.00 in sales, I stayed busy all day. That was the good part sort of. I did not have time to call Bob so there are no tires waiting for the car Wednesday to have them installed. Need to call the VA, my CPAP mask fell apart last night and I hardly had time to eat much less call the VA!

Got home and was ready to relax and plan Wednesday. That plan got shoot to heck as soon as I walked in! Sue said when she started the car it made a squealing sound and the idle went up and down, up and down. I can think of about 10 things that can cause that. While I did not start it my self tonight I would guess a bad A/C Clutch, Bad A/C compressure, bad sep belt or the belt tensinor. Repair cost any where from say $200.00 to $500.00 plus the tires. Great!

 I now need to.

1 Go to the bank, cash my check.

2 Get Sues car to Bob's and pick some tires and get her car reparied.

3 Get Sparkie The Rock Dog's meds

4 Goes to Lowes, and pick up lumber

 5 Cut back grass

6 If I had time, cut out a tree stump, shovel more gravel and maybe start the retaning wall!

Gary I sure wish the fence was done, not even close! Dpending on what Sues car repair cost, well who knows when! Whistling

Rob Bench work looks real good so far.

Ulrich Just saw your PM / E-mail and could not find what you asked me about this morning. Was it took care off all ready?

YGW I have not seen your E-Mail yet. I hope you are getting around better after your Tractor Fight. By the way, who won, you or the tractor? Smile, Wink & Grin

 Later, Ken

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a bowl of Vanilla Almond Organic Granola cereal and a pot of Seneca Lake Blend Dark Roast Coffee to start the day....

Well.....  The day has started off not so well.  I started my computer and opened up my mail to find a note from my DIL that was titled "Bad News"...  Her uncle (who ows the pharmacy I patronize, had a heart attack early this morning.  All we know at this time is that he was airlifted to Strong Hospital in Rochester....  That is both good news and bad news.  Good in that it is thee best place to be with any heart problems, and bad news that is is evidently bad enough to warrant him being air-lifted there.  I do pray that he will be alright.  He just became a Grandfather a few weeks ago.  Also a very fine gentleman and is all of 57 years old.  Those of you that are the praying typs, please do say a prayer for his complete recovery!

I have a Boy Scout District Committee meeting tonight.  Will be continuing to clean out the sheds and dispose of uneeded stuff.  Hope to fire up my old rototiller (borrowed it back from my son) and prepare the area where the last of raised bed gardens will go.  The yellowjackets appear to be immune to the pyrethrin wasp killer.  Just as busy out there as before....  First frost will take care of them.  In the meantime, they are keeping the bugs down in the garden!  So I will just be very carefull not to annoy them. WhistlingSigh

Currently 64°F outside with a high of 69°F predicted for this afternoon with some showers added in.  May get to spend some time in the train room after all....

Have a good day out there!

Afternoon, Folks!

Again a rather dull day. Nothing to report. I have way too much time for gloomy thoughts ...

Ray - Angel for your DIL´s uncle! I had my first heart attack at the age of 34.

Running a high level of frustration today. We urgently need to find a new place to live, both Petra and I are sick and tired of the noise and the dirt around us. But without money we are stuck here - makes me ill!

Hello all

WOW lot of medical issues in here today. Here is a prayer and an Angel for everyone in need. Ulrich and the dust health issues, Galaxies father, Rays DIL Uncle.

I have a special prayer request for one of my best friends, Yesterday he attempted to commit suicide. Pills, alchol and a gun if the first two didnt work. We contacted the police and they were able to find him and now he is a hospital being cared for. He is going through a really bad spot. He lost his leg, then lost his job, then lost his home and now his family. His wife is divorcing him. He needs a LOT of prayer.

Lion - yea that first step is something else !

Ken - Geez that is a LONG list ! Good luck with that. Will send you an email once things have settled down with my friend.

Garry - It was a small tractor its only an L2350 Kubato. Its not like those giant dual wheel mid west tractors ! But I tell you it is a scrappy fighter ! I go back to the cardo doctors on the first. Thanks for asking : )

Gott run my friend TTYL
