Hello all! Just about noon here in cloudy Alberta but no rain forcast. Haven't had rain for weeks which has made for a great harvest time for the farmers. How's the coffee Flo, need something to warm the chilly body after all that outside Honey Do List stuff!

Thought I'd drop in to show you folks a picture I took back a few years of the Canadian National RR's Hump Yard in Winnipeg MB. I was totally amazed as I sat on a road overpass ad watched the operations going on.

Have a look at this.

Hello Canadians! Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Todd..... Micro Mark sells corrugated plastic sheets, and that might work. Perhaps, it can be made to look ugly with cutting and bending. Warm it up somewhat to bend it. The back side would need a frame of lumber pieces.

Jim CG ... Thanks for the comment. I received no eamils or messages.

Ulrich .... Sorry you had the ER visit, and hope you are okay now. I hope you don't have another major set back. However, you may wish to consider telling Petra to contact us if you will be out of action for a few days. We care about you and Petra as well.

Galxy ... Please let us know how you are.

HAs anybody seen Flip lately? Actually, there is a long list of MIA's.

Cheers

Hi, All!

50 and lite rain. Lotsa wind, too!

Did some work on the RR this weekend. Ballasted some yard trackage( thanks for the push, RayWink) Repaired a couple of track issues, built pine trees, made the last 5 coal loads for the unit coal train and ran trains!! Also received the UT1 I got off the Digitrax Yahoo group, that gives me 5 UT's and the DT400. Almost time for an Ops session!

PFC Son and the rest of the familiy were here last weekend before he heads to the sandbox. We all had a great time bonfiring and pontooning.

Some neat pics here lately, keep then coming!

Good luck on the new job prospect, Ken!

Anyone know what's up with Rob?

Prayers for those that need'm!

 Afternoon Folks

 Flo, Beer Pleases!

Today was a like a box of Road Apples! No matter which one you picked, it was still a Road Apple! Well that pretty much cover's the Work Front. Hum, wonder how many here don't know what a Road Apple is? Whistling

Far as the possible new job, did not here from them but not worried. I was never told they would let me know Monday. I all so know they are working out a new Fleet Deal that has 362 vehicles from Lambert Airport in St Louis. One of the main reason they are looking to hire me. If I have not heard from Bill Wednesday I might give him a call.

Boy I am tired, moving Road Apples is hard work!

Hey guys. YIPE!  Who threw that?

Jeff- Congrats on the job.

Well, this is interesting, I just found out a guy I know from grade school and high school broke up with his girlfriend and wants to die. Sorry but he's lucky I'm not near him because I'd slap him upside the head. Maybe it's just my four wheel cowboy logic, but no relationship's worth loosing a life over.

I'll be in the corner booth for a bit.

Evening guys

ANother busy day, but I did pick up some stuff for MRRing. Some styrene, some athearn mini-bulbs, and some weights. Gonna use the weights on the 6 cars I'm assembling, styrene is for some other way to do the F-unit fuel tanks, and the mini-bulbs are for beacons now that I found a resistor combo that works for them.

Tomorrow I'm gonna put the stuff back in my car, go to another appointment, then the trainclub. maybe I'll squeeze in some MR time. I've been thinking of pulling the sound decoder out of one of my stewart F chassis (i bought 2 with sound/dcc) and stick it in my P2K SD7. Might be a good idea for a temporary set-up. I just have to rig up some pilot pieces for them.

TSF, definately get him a reality check. The last GF that broke up with me, I just told her it's her loss.

Jeff and Barry, congrats on the jobs.

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

I am very much saddened by the news about Stein´s sudden death. He was a great guy, always helpful, yet demanding. His death means a big loss to the community. My condolences go out to his family.

Where is Galaxy? His absence makes me worry!

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and a Denver omelet please. Thanks.

Garry- I’ll keep that in mind. What I recall is at my FLHS they had some, what appeared or as I recalled, metal corrugated sheet. I mean actual metal. Shiny and all. Looked awful thin and real but could have been plastic.

HOLY MOLY! This place is turnin into a Moderator hang out. Kinda like a cop bar. Just kiddin, just kiddin. Congrats Barry and thanks.

Actually thanks to all the folks who give their time to moderate these forums.

Bang Head Bang Head Bang Head Sigh Brenda gave me two options on the floor of the shower yesterday morning.I should have known better, but I go to town to get the material. I came home, laid it out as she described, she came home for lunch and said….”why are you doing it that way? I don’t like that” I said because you said either way would be fine. She said well, now that she sees it, she wants it the other way. OH! Then she comes up with two other ways it could be and it would be alright. I said NO! I’ve gone this route countless times on this remodel, you saying either way whatever I want or like is fine and it’s up to me, and then after trip to town to get the stuff you say you don’t like and it’s back to town and return and re buy (deep inhale) and… I think you’re doing this on purpose. So I'm done. Through. Done. Tell me the way you want it, I’ll tell you why it won’t work until we come up with a way you like that will work. No more decisions on my part. I’m sorry, not really, but (and get this guys. This coming from a woman who just haaaad to have this tile shower even after I reminded her of why she didn’t like the fiberglass shower with the no slip floor, and the grout cleaning nightmare ceramic tile showers are) there is no way I can make the walls meet the floor without a grout line or seam. That’s not the way tile works. I told you that right from the git go. Yes folks that’s her whole thing. She doesn’t want to have to clean a grout line. All this to eliminate a grout line in a floor that is roughly 36”X36” comprised of 1” tile squares that she picked out and now is driving me crazy sending me back and forth into town with a pickup truck full of pieces “to try” and now return, JUST to eliminate one out of a gazillion grout lines because….and I quote….”I know what you’re gonna say but, I really am thinking of having to clean that grout line and I don’t want to if I don’t have to.”

Oh honey. You may know what I’m gonna say, but you have absolutely NOOOOO idea what I’m a wantin to say.  Super Angry

Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

Sir Madog

I get that a lot.  For me, it's post-nasal-drip, not a lung thing at all.  You need something to dry up your nose.  Here, I take Benadryl or Delsym - not sure what's available to you.  A weird alternative is to sleep on your stomach, with a pillow under your chest and another under your forehead, with your face suspended between the two so you can breathe.  The mucous doesn't drip on the back of your throat that way, so you don't cough.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Good morning. It's 47° with 99% humidity. It'll be partly cloudy with a high of 78°.

Cool outside this morning but still no heater required inside. Nothing special on the agenda today except to stay out of the cool air as much as possible.

Brrrr...  A little, no make that very, chilly this morning here in the Burgh. Temperature was in the low thirties with some areas below freezing. I am not ready for this and I haven't even come close to getting all the things on my "Summer List" done.

We went railfanning this past Sunday, but had to sit in the car. It was just too cold to break out the camp chairs and sit outside, which we both really enjoy. But we did see 7 trains in under 2 hours. Four of them were mixed freight which are more enjoyable than intermodals, etc. But don't get me wrong, I'll enjoy anything moving on the rails.

This past week I have been looking around the internet about Budd RDC cars. I was surprised to see that many ran in and about Pittsburgh on a regular schedule starting with the B&O and even including our local transit authority. It was a part of railroading history here that I was completely oblivious to. I will have to look for one at the train show in Timonium at the end of the month to add to my collection. I look forward to this show every year and have had my motel reservations since the beginning of October. I hope nothing comes up to prevent us going this year. That has happened a lot over the years. Last year, the wife fell down 3 steps and blew her leg and ankle apart and we had to cancel. I told her the other day that if she does something like that again this year, she will just have to lay there until I get home. Wink

Hope everybody has a good week and stays safe and healthy.  Tom

 Flo, Coffee Pleases.

I was sadden to hear about Steinjr's passing. He sure like to help with layout planning. He will be missed.

Went to bed early last night, guess around 8:00 PM. I was up today at 6:10 AM, way to early if you ask me. Have a little bit of a headache, think it is sines problems. Normally comes on when the weather changes.

Far as sleeping sitting up right Ulrich, I do that a lot. Far as Wolfhound Barking, I know that sound well.Laugh

Toe Front It looked pretty darn good yesterday. Wound is heal complete together. Will find out more this coming Thursday when I get to see the Good Surgeon.

Hello, everybody!

Ken .... I'm glad you are getting the medical attention you require. Praying you can heel soon.

Todd .... I should have thought of the corrugated stuff you mentioned because I have used it myself. Not recently.  Here is a link to Walthers catalog for it.

http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/200-801

PA Tom .... Funny you should mention the B&O RDC. I just received a group of HO trains, and it included an Athearn B&O RDC (rubber band drive). I'm not sure what to do with it because it does not fit in with my layout.

Jeff ... The rusty bridge photo should inspire somebody to weather a bridge on the layout.

Curt ... Say "Hi" to FLip and let him know we would like seeing him here.

There are several other MIA's, too.

Galaxy .... I'm having trouble getting started in the morning without your posts.

TSF ..... I think know is when your friend needs kindness and understanding. Sometimes a broken relationship can be very depressing. If I were you, I would let him know you care about him, and tell him to let you know what you can do.

Terry in the Badger State..... Good to see you. I like the BN photo. I think you said your son was being deployed or something like that last. If so, I hope he is doing fine.

Dennis .... I hope things go okay for you at you job. I would encourage you to stay with the railroad assuming you are getting credits for Railroad Retirement. It pays more than Social Security, and so far, Congress has not raided its trust fund as they did to SS.

Ulrich ... I hope you will be okay now.

Happy Model Railroading.
