Evenin' folks!
Flo I'll have the roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, and some baked winter squash as well. A cup of decaf should finish it off nicely I think.
Been kind of a nondescript day here. Stopped down at church to deliver a CD with all my files accumulated during the past 5 years I have been Moderator of deacons. Been trying to get the files to one of the ladies who is taking on the position as a co-moderator for a couple weeks. She finally asked me to drop it off at church and she will pick it up there. Had to take a few other things over to the Committee chair of the pack, then stand in line for a while at the post office. Actually did get to go down cellar, turn on the lights and turn up the heat in the train room a while ago, haven't been back down there since......
AmanaMedic Only saw one vehicle in the ditch. Wouldn't you just know it was an all-wheel-drive SUV/station wagon-ish kinda thing. One of Cedar County's deputies was having a roadside chat with the driver. He, she, or "it" had buried the thing. Didn't look like they spun, but rather just plowed it in straight. It was even on a straight section of road too, not on the deadly "S" curve or any of the other "fun" hills and curves.

"But officer, I had to take that phone call from my daughter, she needed to tell me her boyfriend had called and besides this is 4 wheel drive so I should be able to drive twice as fast as anybody else and I had no idea the road was this icy and... Hold on, it's my husband calling......................."
Tonight I shall spend an hour or two hiding in the train room! may even get a few things accomplished.... One never knows!

Hu-rowwww! Pretty good visit with the doctor today. He was pleased. Keep your fingers crossed she makes it a month until the next follow up visit. Oh, sorry, talking about Mom.
Jeffrey- Reeediculous. But I know what you mean. Williamsville had an old Post Office until oh, 4 or 5 years ago. Maybe a bit more, maybe a bit less. Hard to remember. But it was an old storefront building and had one step up. still too much for a wheelchair and very narrow also. The folks who worked there were members of the community so they bent the rules on many things making it easier for most elderly. (as long as it wasn't lunch time) The thing leaked like a sieve and they had to be careful when storing packages so they didn't get as wet as if they were left outside. We now have a brand new shiny P.O. with all the handycap accessibleness you could need. Ground level so no steps, no ramps (except the one through the curb) Got it all including the automatic opening door. Just hope you don't have to pee. No public restroom.

Ulrich.....I got to working on the layout, well laying some track. Its coming along pretty good. I need a few more pieces of track, and some turnouts. Then some more foam board, road bed......The list goes on............
Galaxy......Good to hear the doc say you don't have step. Any kind of sore throat is a pain!!! I'm with you on the track. Its like the y give you enough to get started and thats it !!!!
Sawyer...........I was hoping the Pats lost last night, but no. So far the Steelers are still a #2, and they have a pretty easy schedule left. I will say that game tonight will be fun to watch!!!!!!
Jeff............Is this post office a small post office and maybe that's why they don't have a good access? The USPS keeps saying they want to close down some offices and stop Saturday....So that means, forget about upgrading certain buildings. The post office I used has half of the lights burned out inside. It feels like your at a "romantic dinner".

Rant follows!
Went to the post office in Leesville this morning to mail out some boxes. Those steps in front of the building (at least a dozen of them) make getting into the building very difficult for me (me and steps don't get along well) and the place has NO HANDICAP ACCESS! Since when can a government building NOT have handicap access? What a disabled person has to go through there is a JOKE! Anyone who can't get up the steps for whatever reason must go to the back of the building (loading/unloading area), climb a steep ramp that someone in a wheelchair would not be able to get up without help and go to the back door IF the path is not blocked by mail carts. There they have to ring a bell for service. Entry through this door is forbidden so the mail/packages the person wants to send must be given to the postal clerk that comes to the door along with whatever method of payment is being used. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS THE PERSON GRANTED ACCESS! They must wait at the back door while the clerk weighs the mail/packages and applies the postage on them and uses the provided method of payment (cash/credit-debit card/etc) to pay for it then brings the receipt and change or card back to the person still waiting out on the loading/unloading dock. If the person has a P.O. box or drawer there they must have an able bodied person (or at least one that can climb the steps) go in and get their mail for them. From now on I'm going the extra couple of miles to New Llano to use the post office there. It has proper handicap access.
End rant.

Good afternoon guys,
saw the Dr. NO i don't have strep, just a sore throat. The Dr. will sign off on a Handicapped license plate for me to have on my vehicle and a hangy tag for when I am in other vehicles. He will fill out the form today, then tomorrow I take it to county clerk, then back to DMV to get teh plates etc. Between my back issues and my breathing issues, It will be thankful to have one. THough I know that just because I got one, doesn't guarantee a place up close. Lots of others have them too.
I ranted a thread about Atlas not having enough track in a package to make a full circle! I HATE when that happens. AND the package says "Full CUrve" on it I take that to mean full half circle. Its a curve alright, jsut not half a circle. EERRRGGGHHHH!

Hey fellas, just been relaxing for the past few days.
DANG now that was a FOOTBALL GAME last night! I can't believe how well Matt Flynn played! He outplayed Brady for most of the game, except for right at the end. It might be a loss, but that is a statement game for the Pack. I think we're gonna make the playoffs :D
as for tonight's game I can't wait. and I actually have a reason to pull for the Vikings; if Chicago looses, We're gonna be one game back of the Bears. If we can go into the final week tied (i.e. we beat the Giants and Chicago looses) we can win our division outright with a win over the Bears at Lambeau. If we beat the Bears and tie them at the top, I dunno who owns the tie-break

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooood Mornin', plate of cheeseburgers, and save some for Ms. TIFFANY in honor of her sweet sixteen! Put TIFF's burgers on RERUN's tab, if you would.
ULRICH: Schnaps 'eh?? I get the red, squiggly line under it when I type it like THAT...seems schnapps is what the 'pooter likes??? Either way, I'll enjoy a glass with you in the hopes the muckety-mucks like your proposal/business plan. If not...I've got some suggestions for "other things" you could put "under their tree." RERUN could help you with THAT... I'm OK with a train more or less "running back and forth," it's trying to whittle down what WILL fit vs. everything I think I want THAT has me banging my head on the drawing table. I've got most of the basic framework up. Whatever the final design, the frame most likely wouldn't be affected. IF I get some radical idea, what little is up can come back down pretty easily. I'm now adapting a layout from the Great Model Railroads 2005 to fit my space. Since the guy actually built the thing (at least two other plans I've tried to adapt were, I think, concepts only), I figure it gives me a more-or-less mostly accurate "template" for just exactly how much track will fit into a given space without having to buy templates or fight with 'pooter programs.
Glad to see I'm not the only one battling s**w on the roads and idiot drivers today. I had to take the truck to Mt. Vernon this morning for some maintenance w**k. While there, the s**w began to fall. By the time I was ready to leave, the s**w had reduced US Hwy. 30 to a real mess. But, I was able to do a safe 30-35 for the trip home. Only saw one vehicle in the ditch. Wouldn't you just know it was an all-wheel-drive SUV/station wagon-ish kinda thing. One of Cedar County's deputies was having a roadside chat with the driver. He, she, or "it" had buried the thing. Janie, coffee in a D&RGW mug and a slice of that cherry crumble pie for me, please.
I spent the better part of the day re-writing and re-calculating the business plan for that TV thingy, but I cannot complete it today, due to lacking information. I will meet the guy on Wednesday to clarify the pending issues - should be able to put it under the tree for them. Hopefully it´ll work this time!
Ken - to Tiff, 16 is quite an age. I hope she stays with you for some more time! That track plan is a killer - go for it. It is much closer to what you were looking for than my idea, which maybe more interesting in terms of scenery. That´s one of my issues - I put looks before operation
Barry - yes, it has been some interesting year, not only at your end. I hope you will be doing much better, now that you have the IDC keeping you within rhythm & blues!
Robby - keep us posted on the development of your new layout. I know it´s going to be fun - guess why?
I am having second thought about my layout idea . I know that this is about all I can do, but still running a train back and forth is not my glass of Schnaps (sorry, Chris)- that´s the correct German spelling). I´d like to have at least a few feet more track and even maybe continuous running. These second thoughts keep me from actually starting construction - does that sound a little familiar to you, Chris?
Idle hands - create nice images (just because I love to do changes):
Well, I´ll be out for the moment - CUL, folks!
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have French Toast (use raisin bread) and a side order of bacon to go along with my dark roast coffee this morning. I'll go sit at the Rivet counter for a while.
Ken, Happy Birthday to Tiffany! Give a nice pat on the old head for me. That is a very old dog, and she has been very blessed to have a good home!
Barry, 10lbs. eh? IIRC THAT is 10 lbs. more than what was allowed last week. Sounds like the implant is working out well for you. You are still in my prayers!
J. R. I am always amazed at how some people will drive on icy roads....... Best thing to do is stay off them! I would much rather drive in snow than try sliding around on Black Ice.... (Slip Slidin' Away....) BTW, Just bought a bumper sticker last week that says: Hang Up and Drive!
Gray morning here in the Finger Lakes. A few little white things falling every now and then, but nothing to make any problems. Currently 26°F outside with a few snow showers on schedule for today.
I will try to get a few odds and ends done and spend time in the train room.
Good Morning All,
25F and lots of slippery driving this am. No problem for me but may others seemed to be having issues. I'll just have a regular to go and scoot out the door to the shop. Hope the rest of you have a goodun'. CUL, J.R.
Sir Madog Finally, i was able to buy an office chair. I have been looking for a long time to find a chair which suits my size as well as the size of my wallet. I can now spent more time at my computer without my back starting to hurt.

Fitting me was no problem. Fitting my wallet was a bit of a trick, but still easy. FITTING THE DOOR TO THE COMPUTER ROOM was a whole 'nother ball of wax. See, we live in a 1983 trailer home, and as such, the bedroom doors are only 28" wide. SO the computer chair, AND the computer desk HAD to be put together INSIDE the room , and when we buy a model raailroad space witha a house covering it, they will have to be taken apart to get them OUT of the room!
HOO Ray! HOO RAY! Tiffany! may mommy and daddy get you some and lots of and you have a fun time!
Well, going to the Dr. to Determine if I have Strep Throat. An idiot at MOH's work worked while having Strep{"I didn't know I had to be off work sick for that"} and exposed MOH {and others} to it, and while MOH didn't come down with it, could have carried it to me, infecting me.I'm succeptable {sp?} to a lot of things. If we are lucky, I am just getting a cold with a sore throat. I dread the throat swab test though!
Pain relief center gave me a script for Lidoderm, a Lidocaine patch to appy to my back to help provide relief, but doesn't seem to be working. I don't quite know how numbing my back can help, when it seems more musclulature in nature. In Jan soon I see the surgeon again about having the other tumor removed from my back, maybe that will help.
well, i'd better run, I have to shower.

Good morning. It's 47° with clouds and brief appearances of some bright disk. The high will be 67° and it will be mostly cloudy.I have to go into town later today. I need to go to the pharmacy and drop off the list for my meds then to the post office to mail some boxes, one of which will be going to Missouri while the other two will go to their destinations north of the Mason/Dixon line. I still have some HO stuff to get rid of and I'm working with several prospective customers at this time. I know I'm going to have some items left over. Guess I'll have to take them to the flea market in Pickering and be happy with whatever I can get for them. Still have some layout work that needs to be done also. There are some places where the wall joint compound cracked while it was drying. I'll have to fill those in with a skim coat of plaster before those areas can be painted over. I still have to get the wiring for the structure lighting done.
I have to stop moaning about how cold it is here. Only 39 now. in sunny mid Fla. Then I read what the temps. are where you Yankees and Canuks are. If I could afford it, I'd move south to be with Ed.
I am looking to add more Cookie box cars to the 8 I now Have. Numbers are- 60004,60010,60026,60028,60052,60058,66099 and 66172. If anyone has a different road number and would care to swap, I have a EJ&E,60186, P&LE 43245 and 168549, Soo 177878, and SP&S 7415 and 32010 to swap.
I took today off as I have to drive Deb to dr. for a procedure. No, nothing serious, but will be sedated.
TGIF [Today GOD Is First.] Prayers and Blessings. for all.

Happy birthday Tiffany!
Good "flurry" morning. Maybe some snow tomorrow, and later this week. The temps, well in the 20's - 30's for highs.
I have some running around to do this morning. Then come home and do some things also (dishes, etc...). Maybe this week I can start on the layout Ulrich made up for me, which I love!!
Other than those few things, thats pretty much my day.
I will pop back in later, and have a good morning.
Thanks Todd for the Happy Birthday for Tiff.
I am not sure how this is going to work, but here is the new plan. (I had to scan the print out and turn into a JPG) Main thing added is the reversing loop on the right and the wye in the center. On the left side, the holding yard is on a 2% grade and goes up to around 7 inches. The branch line (3rd main) goes under the 2 left hand mains as they make ther climb.

Good Morning,
Dorothy and I decided to open Christmas presents last night since both of us are working all week and things will be hectic over the 25th and 26th. I cleaned house this year on tools and stuff from Micro-Mark. Nothing fancy, several small tools that I wouldn’t have bought for myself. On the layout I installed the WS roofers on the movie theater and continued to work on the Dairy and fire station back lot details.
Jeff, those Kaydee couplers are the best, however on my budget I couldn’t afford to switch over completely to Kaydee. I haven’t had any problems with the Bachmann or Mc Henry brand couplers. I did notice the tuning fork style hand uncoupling tool works great with Kaydee and not so great with the others. As far as weight I’ve pulled 68 40 foot boxcars without any of the couplers failing (mix lot of non-Kaydee).
Garry, thanks I think I have enough of those Accumates, LOL. I’m using them as pallet loads by the RIP track.
Howmus, I “opted out” with the big three credit reporting agencies a few years ago. Now (unless I already have an account with you) you must have my signature to run a credit report on me. I haven’t received any unsolicited mail for loans or credit cards in about 5 years.
Der, those silos came out really good!
Team Steam, have you ever seen a walrus trying to get back to the top of a beach? That’s how I dance, so don’t be too hard on yourself…..
The ICE is melting; you can see a little green poking through the snow in some of the yards again, and most of the driveway is clear. Flurries and light snow for the rest of the week with the temps remaining below freezing. Just wintery enough to stay indoors and work on the layout but not too bad to run to the LHS…

Good Morning! Coffee please.
Tiffany!!!
Not much going on today, bookwork for the Church, call the realtor and put the house back on the market, take Mom to the doctors office for a follow up. Who knows what else. Hopefully not much else. Seems every time I get thinking I'll have some time to get to the trainroom something comes up to squorsh the idea. (That's "squash" for you non midwesterners.) Oh well.
Y’all have a Great Day now ya hear?!!!
Good Morning...
Tiffany!!
It is a kind of chilly 17F going to a high of 26F today. In the lightly falling snow....
Welp, it has been an 'interesting' year for me. Heart attack with attending Cardiac Arrest then a new ICD placed in me...then my exercising which lead me to lose about 50lbs--then my work got reshuffled around--I now have a corner office---yay!!
Today, i get to go and complete the so called Xmas shopping list---provided I do not lift anything over 10lbs with my left arm--as that is where my ICD is placed--left side... Then I clean out the closet in my trainroom and get ready t put MORE STUFF in it...
Flo, I'll have a coffee and a toast with jam please. I'll be at the RC for a bit here...uh, excuse me Flo? Uh...did someone forget their Whoopie Cushion?

Morning Folks
Flo, a big Diet Dew if you would.
Really have nothing to say for the last few days. Work is going OK and our weather is getting back to normal for this time of year.
Now that I have a track plan, kind of getting bored. Glad I am working for the fact it gives me something to do.
Have been running the new layout using the 3rd Plan It program and it is a keeper. 3rd main has a lot of alternate routes that I can run.
Today is Tiffany s 16th Birthday. Yep she is sweet 16 today. I have never had a dog live this long and she seems to be doing pretty dog gone good on her new dog food.
She you all later.
Good Day All!
Cup of coffee please.
Hope everyone has a Great Day!

Good Morning Diners,
again, an icy cold day at 22 F, with some more snow to come. As I am probably the one among us to be the closest to the North Pole, so it be! I am glad I don´t have to be on the road like in the past years.
I am happy that my little layout idea received some liking here in the community. There are still lots of industries to be named, like The Bama Shoe Co. (that´s actually a real name), Boyd´s Beauty Products and many more. Suggestions are highly welcomed!
Finally, i was able to buy an office chair. I have been looking for a long time to find a chair which suits my size as well as the size of my wallet. I can now spent more time at my computer without my back starting to hurt. Will there be more track plans to come? Maybe, but I am right now trying to revive that TV project and there are some nasty deadlines to meet.
Zoe, just a coffee, please.
Have a good day!
Good evening Diners. A black tea and a small plate of the bite-size sausage rolls please Chloe.

John, So you used multiple strands? I have a large roll of 0.5mm and have tried that, with one strand and using testor's clear parts cement. wasn't impressed looking through the amber beacon on my Atlas U30Cs and my Athearn SW10. I managed to get a microbulb in the U-boat, but I'm thinking an SMD would work best.
Well, the end of another Sunday, and the last of the steady sunshine for a while as another nasty Nor' Easter is headed our way tomorrow into Tuesday. Rain and wind - it will take all the Christmastime-look from our island, and leave us mud and unasserted debris. Did get some mrr time today, and the second silo is ready to be fixed with its smaller cousin on a "concrete" pad, and the discharge mechanisms and piping made and fitted. The it's the paint shop to get a universal dull zinc-grey on everything. Here's a quick shot - not good lighting, the roofs are hard to tone down, they reflect too much.

Flo, large bowl of caramel popcorn and a root beer for me. Just sitting at home watching the Packers game. Against the Patriots with a back-up rookie QB is gonna be a tough one but they are up 17-14. (in the time I posted this it went from 10-7 to 17-17)

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
I'm finally back....
TGIF- The Ground Is FREEZING! It has stayed in the 40's in my neck of the woods in Florida, and the temprature has been dropping ever since.
Well, now that I got that out of my system, I'll have a gallon of hot choclate, and a cookie.
Not a whole lot going on right now. I finally bit the bullet, and have started buying after-market detail parts for my locomotives (first for me) First up is that un-finnished Con-Cor SW/1500-to-MP-15DC project that I got at a train show about a year ago.
I did figure out a name and logo for my fictional railroad today. The Florida Interstate (est. 2010) will begin operations on CSX trackage, switching the local industries and working for a local industrial park, with a seccond-hand MP-15DC, being re-built and re-painted on a siding in the Reynolds Industrial Park in North Florida, which will also home base for the Florida Interstate.
Here's the logo, which will be used on MP-15 FLI 001
Let's see if it comes up.
After I make sure the logo immage comes up, I'll be returning to work on the re-build.
EDIT: Yes, It's up. Now, back to work on the locomotive, and a possible paint scheme.
Evening all. Just doing some catching up.
DerJohn, I'm not sure if Century Gothic is MLA or not. Either way, that point is moot because we don't need a hard copy. We had to submit it to Turn It In to check for plagarism, but she didn't require us to print it out.
Chris, being a product of 11.5 years of Catholic school myself (a total of 13 after senior year), Theology papers are pretty easy for me.For this, we had to pick a charity of our choice and write about how it shows "Love in Action." I picked Toys For Tots, and I was going to go to the train last weekend, donate, and maybe ask a few questions. But then my dad's friend, who was involved in the train, asked if we were interested in going on and helping out (the train is not open for the public to ride). So we went, I got some railfanning in, and interviewed the coordinator for my paper.Although the photos have nothing to do with the paper, they're on my Flickr (link in my signature) if you wanna check them out.We have a nun teaching my Theology class, and according to some people, they don't do well because "they have different views on morality (the topic of the class this year) than she does."
I'll be at the RC for a while while I look over the rest of the forums.

Evening all. Just stopping in for the night. I've got the girls to watch as Amy is out with some girlfriends having some "girl time". Past couple of nights have been busy, as Friday night was our church Christmas party, and then last night we went out on a date. Saw the newest Narnia movie, pretty good, but not worth the cost for what little 3D footage was in it. Still slowly working on my locomotive painting. Kinda figured out that the yellow that I have isn't the "right" shade of yellow for the current CSX locomotive paint scheme, but I'll make due with it for now and get the "right" shade at another time. Besides, i can always repaint them when the time comes.
Guess I'll get out of here, I've got my girls to keep an eye on until Amy gets back home.
Later taters!
Well the Steelers lost, but what a nail bitter!!!!
