Good morning. I see we moved, and its much warmer.
I still don't feel good from yesterday, so I will probably take the day easy. Its suppose to snow flurry all day, so I will just stay in.
Maybe later see what I can do in the basement, and work on a few cars.
Hope everybody has a good morning.
"Rust, whats not to love?"
Good Morning,
31F today with a steady drop in temperature, the rain subsided to snow flurries last night but no accumulation.
Love the various layout plans keep them coming,,,,

Good Morning Folks!
Cup of coffee please!
We are having are first snow today, well just a few flakes, yesterday it was in the mid 50's today in the 30's - with wind chill dipping into the teens.
Have a great day all!
Steven
Good Morning Folks,
the new location has been found by some, not all, of us - good to know. I left a trace of bread crumbs leading from the old place to here, but I guess they have been eaten by the snowbirds by now.
Janie, a big mug of plain coffee, please!
As Petra is gone to do some more teaching (earns her $ 22.50/hr.), I took the time to finish the track plan. I don´t like having semi-finished files on my `puter...
Just for those, who keep track of my track plan doings, here it is:
Now if I were a rich man ...
Have a good day!
Edit: I sent the plan to my Swiss friend and now he wants me to adapt this concept to his layout. His room is much smaller than Ken´s, but I think that it can be done - lotsa work ahead of me, I should start to charge some money for my own layout for it
Good Morning ! from Tipton IN.

Coffee. Please. Black. No cream, no sugar, no nothing. Just coffee. That’s the way I like it. I can’t feel my finger tips. Must find someplace warm for them. Ah, my nose. Currently we are experiencing sn*w flurries. Well, Guess we didn’t have any trouble with the mountains with THAT bad boy doing the tugging!

Jeff- Do they still serve that Chickory coffee? That’ll open your eyes.
Charlie- I’m sorry to hear about your Mom. Doctor told my Mom yesterday she could no longer live alone. She will be moving in with us. She’s not Nursing ome, aka Stalag, material yet. I know how much you can cram into a small apartment. Mine has maxed it out. Happy late Birthday too!
Well best drink my coffee and head to bed. Mom gets out of the horse piddle tomorrow and I have to bring her here.
(sip) What’s this? SOY coffee! Is this the way it’s gonna be all month?

Garry, the first half that I have started will remain the same. I'm happy with that plan with a tiny alteration I will make. It’s the second half that I may change. If you recall, I found a plan in an issue of MR that I am using. The second half, actually a second room in the original, was not exactly what I wanted and I already had some changes in mind, but with all this talk and drawings, listening to Ulrich, I’m beginning to think a bit less trackage would be the way to go. Just found the Jan issue on the kitchen table tonight. I shall run right now and check. Great! That’s fantastic! I'm not sure I've seen that section before. Maybe just not as tight of shot. Reeeeally good job photographing too

Good Evening from Winterpeg!
Say it sure is nice here in California, far nicer than home where it is going down to 2F tonight and up to 9F tomorrow with an nice strong north wind, Oh joy.
I've been adsent as our computer died nearly a month ago and it has taken a fair while to get it fixed. It is a 3 year old laptop so we decided it was worth it to replace the hard drive which took 2 weeks to arrive at the shop. In the end we spent $280 on it once the operating system was reloaded.
Lots of birthdays this past month so belated best wishes to Johnboy, Jerry and Ray. Oh and myself too as mine is the same day as Johnboy.
Not much happening on the RR front as have been busy getting Mum settled in a care facility. After 3 months in the hospital they said they couldn't do anything more for her so out the door she went last week as soon as they heard we had found a place for her. Along with my sister we are slowly getting her apartment cleaned out. Amazing how much stuff she managed to get in there but we have to get a move on as all must be cleaned out by the end of December.
Hopefully I can get back to the Woodland Scenics Creamery I'm building. I've got the walls and roof painted but that is about it. I hope to run a few trains too.
Ken, good luck with the job hunt. Sounds like you had a great interview.
Ulrich, I like that track plan you've done for Ken but if it were mine I'd do a link to the other line just before it goes down to staging so a train could go around the circuit without having to go through staging.
Say as we're in California, close to wine country, I bet we could persuade Chloe stock a few nice vintages. I could sure go for a large glass of Merlot right now with a large chunk of french bread.
I'm absolutely tired out again today so it is time to say goodnight.

Evenin' people....
New location..... Ya know if they had to move it this far West, they could have at least found someplace warmer than NYS right now.... Here in the Finger Lakes it is 54°F... Here in this, ah, where is it again? Oh. SecretMemo, it is currently 48°F.... And no snow anywhere! Sure hope they still serve coffee here.
Flo can I possibly get a plain old cup of decaf coffee? No, no Hazelnut supreme, and No I don't want an expresso latte domino.... just a decaf.... Oh you can. Wonderful my evening is looking up. I'll be in the back by the woodstove. What? We can't light it this month because it causes cancer in Clownafornia? So how are we going to keep warm? Using Kerosine... Oh that sounds much safer........ (Shakes head...)
Galaxy... Drilling 3 wells tonight? Just lost in thought I guess. Hey! I grew up driving 4 ton axle trucks THAT my Dad had taken the doors off so we could in and out easier.... No seatbelts in those 1934 jalopies either. ..............
Oh, here is my coffee. Flo did they have to put the warning about drinking non-cafinated coffee right on top of the FGLK Logo? Oh UP requires THAT anywhere in their service area...... I guess they don't like competition, huh?
Got a bit more done, well actually a good amount done, on the quarry tonight. The added rock walls have all been painted to look like...... yep! Rock! I shaped some foam to look like piles of crushed stone for under the ends of the conveyors THAT are supposed to look like they convey the crushed stone and dump it in big piles....... Then I painted them to look like..... Stone! Probably likes a bit like rock as well.
Hmmm. Wonder If I dare drink that liquid in the cup THAT used to say FGLK on it...
Guess I should get back home to the Finger Lakes so I can get warm (and away from the kerosine smell....) 48°???
Later!

We'll get there sooner or later!
I've found some more items. An Athearn 34' hopper, 2 Bachmann EZ-Command control stations with power supplies, A couple of handfuls of small trees, several small bags of utility poles, some more cars and trucks, another Bachmann trainset power supply and an Athearn power pack still wrapped in it's bubble wrap, never used. There's still a big plastic container and some smaller boxes to go through. I know already what's in 2 of the boxes. Lead rooftop vent pipes. I got them to cut up for use as weight for train cars and never got around to it. I also found 3 boxes of plaster, a box of talus, a latex rock mold and a big box of craft sticks.

WELL WELL WELL!
The diner got moved a bit early! Ulrich beat me to it, and everyone thought I was early moving it last month at 9 pm! I'll bet he stayed up just to beat me to it...but I see he didn't polish it up like I did!
*sniff* But,,, but,,,,I ,,,thought we were going someplace for a . ... white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know... - I know, already, stop badgering me, I can't sing! ANd I'm not Bing Crosby either, I know!
and RAY wanted to go skiing too!
Oh, well the Mountains of this here Californy place are not far I guess, we can go up there for snow and skiing... I know, I know, I saw all the votes for Californy.
I haven't been in in a couple of days, anybody miss me? Probably not.
Cuda Ken said previously: "...Down side is base is only $10.00 a hour..." I dunno, Ken around these parts $10.00 is pretty darn good and you get to earn commision on top to boot! Here, many people would not complain about getting $10.00/hour and $12.00-$14.00 is golden here! MOH {My Other Half} would love to make even $8.00/ hour right now...especially working in the bakery now...
Ray said previously: "...as long as they don't serve only THAT woosey Cafe Lattedum chocolate creme Vanilla crisp coffee substitute stuff! Gotta have REAL Coffee ya know!..." I agree,,, and that funky slimy vegetarian "food" as they call it...gotta have real food here in the diner!! A real man's meal!!
Jeffrey said previously:"...While digging through the boxes of stuff under the layout I came across ...There's still more stuff to go through..." Isn't it amazing what we can pack away and forget about? I have one closet I neatly packed full in those plastic storage bins all kinds of shtuff {not trains} when I came here 10 years ago to be with MOH {My Other Half} and I haven't a clue what is in them anymore. I'll bet I would be surprised at what I find. Maybe this summer I get around to the yard sale if my back holds out and I could probably sell 98% of whatever is in there. There is one bin of old Medical and other documents I could go through, condense and shred the rest.... ANything else I have even seen in 8 years,,, so why bohter keeping any of it? I can use the space for storing trains!
WELL, finally found out what is wrong with the Kia Sedona minivan bucking on us....It's the engine motor mount bushings are deteriorating and failing!!! So it bucks when the engine changes gears and torques differently. The 92 Taurus had one motor mount right up front top center that did the same thing periodically. The Kia will be fixed under warrantee of course...but not looking forward to replacing motor mounts every 50K miles or less in the future....
They also did a "service advisory repair"...not that is a "service advisory repair", NOT a "recall"! on the latches on the two rear sliding doors. Seems they have a habit of realeasing and the doors opening while you are driving down the road! And that doesn't warrant a "recall"??? A "service advisory repair" is something they will do for free only IF you bring the vehicle in for repair- a recall entails mailing out letters advising of a recall and replacing ALL of the failing doorlatches on ALL of the Sedonas....makes me wonder! DOes it make you wonder? I mean if the doors come unlatched going down the road!!! I think that should result in a recall. The service advisor said he has had hysterical mothers coming in screaming the doors opened and there's her kids looking down at the road as they travel down the hiway. TG for seatbelts! Hysterical? I should say so!
WEll, it's getting late now. I have bored anyone reading this to tears by now...
{galaxy sulks over to rivet counter to start polishing it... out of the way vinnie....please vinnie....i said puleeze...}

Hey, we moved.
North Eastern- I'm hopefully getting a CB from a friend of mine, it's just the CB. No mike and no whips. I'll let you know how that goes. Those things aren't cheap.
Well, I found out one of my off-roading buddies rolled his daily driver blazer. Thing was sweet. 4 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift. The engine was a worn chevy 305, but still moved pretty good. He was ok and the cops stayed home. His stepdad helped right it.

When in doubt. grab a hammer.
If it moves and isn't supposed to, get a hammer
If it doesn't move and is supposed to, get a hammer
If it's broken, get a hammer
If it can't be fixed with a hammer... DUCK TAPE!
Hey, I found it.
First, I have to apologize for going MIA last month. School got (and still is) super hectic, and my homework load had knocked out any possibility of me responding (untill now...) but I've sort have been in and out of here, keeping an eye open on what's going on (sort of)
From last month....
Ken- Congradulations on the good interview, and I whish you luck for getting the job.
Ernie C.- If it's 3 below in Arizona, I got a feeling it's going to be a repeat of last year's winter.
[I remember that winter. It got to something around 10 below where I am here in North Florida, and it snowed in Miami ]
What's been goin on for me, over the last month...- Besides homework, not a whole lot. Just some whishful dreaming of getting my CB radio into my pick-up truck eventually, and continuing on my family's tradition of decorating the Christmas tree (First live tree in years) and puting lights up in the yard.
Tomorrow, I'm taking my driving test to get a lerner's permit.
Whish me luck.
