Ulrich, are you any relation to the ULRICH model train corporation? I was going through some stuff at the model railroad club and notices we had a collection of ULRICH HO items; vehicles, locomotives, and some passenger cars.

I'm getting ready to play hooky from work, got 2 tickets to the 12:05 Indians baseball game today against Kansas City Royals.

Good morning. It's 74 and mostly cloudy. The high is expected to be 89 and there's a 20% chance of rain.

The visit to my primary physician went well yesterday. Got back home and went down and mowed the parent's yard. I then had a sugar crash that left me pretty well wiped out the rest of the day, so naturally I didn't feel like doing much. The scrap yard hasn't been able to find a gas tank that will fit under my van so now I'm looking for one that's a squarish/rectangular shape with a flat bottom that can be mounted inside the rear of the vehicle. It doesn't matter if it's made to take an internal pump or not so that should be relatively easy for them to find. If I have to I'll go and find it myself. As for a steering column I've been giving thought to getting one from a newer model Ram van that I can adapt to mine. Though the end of the shaft would be different there's no reason the end of the old shaft can't be cut off and welded onto the newer one at the required distance. It wouldn't be the first time I've made a shotgun marriage of auto parts. A Pontiac Sunbird I had was refitted with a Mazda tranny and cut and welded drive axle and it worked just fine. Got some strange looks from a few mechanics but as I said, it worked, and that's all that counted. It'll be the same in this case. I'll be doing a scrap yard rebuild but if it works it doesn't much matter what it looks like.

Todd, if I used my card as a debit I get charged $2.50 each swipe as a ATM fee,   if I swipe and sign like a credit card it’s free.

CN, the debit cards are Visa or Master Card debit, they can act as an ATM card, debit card, or credit card.  No matter what it pulls funds from your checking account.  No money in the account and they are declined. I think the regular credit card companies here in the lower 48 are scoundrels and I won’t have another full credit card ever again.  Besides it keeps me balanced when I walk into the LHS, LOL!

Mornin' everyone......

Zoe, just a bowl of raisin bran to go with a large pot of dark roast coffee this morning.  I'll go sit in the front booth with Barry and talk about hot days.

Yep going up into the 80's today under sunny skies here in the Finger Lakes today.  What an evening last night!

Mid May is always the Martin Luther King Scholarship Dinner here in Geneva.  I do several things related to "pulling this off" every year including creating and printing the programs, tickets, reserved table signs, the flier for the event, sending out news releases and photos of the recipients to the local newspaper, etc, etc. etc......

The people attending is a "who's who" of Geneva including, the Mayor and several councilmen,  HWS College President, Dr. Mark Gearon and his wife, the Superintendent of Schools, the Asst. Superintendent of Schools, the Business Manager of the Schools, several faculty members, college professors, Ministers, highly respected members of Black community here in Geneva, former recipients, and many other members of the community at large.

We had a "sold out" crowd this year, in part because our keynote speaker was Arun Gandhi, the Grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, and the founder of the Gandhi Institute of Nonviolence and the Gandhi Worldwide Education Institute.  He is also the author of "The Legacy of Love", and "The Forgotten Woman".  The crowd was not disappointed!!!

Yep I was there! I'm the goofy looking guy on the right.....

I want to introduce you to Alluana, she plans to attend William Smith College on a full scholarship to major in performing arts. Allauna is an Honor Roll Student, Vice President of the Senior Class, member of the student council, member of the Varsity Singers, a performer in several school musicals, and a three sport athlete. Alluana is the CEO of a jeans dying business and has participated in several community service activities including Cruisin' Night, Whale Watch, and high way clean up campaigns. Her mom, Alice was a quiet, sweet, young lady in my music class at the Middle School a long time ago.  She had little going for her except her smile and a good work ethic.  She was one of the few Black kids in chorus back then.  She stayed in chorus throughout High School and I remember her coming back to my room after school one day to proudly show me her NYSMA Solo score!  She found she could be successful at something.  Alice ended up working for head start for several years.  She had a daughter whom I met when she was just a couple months old at a MLK Service.  Allauna ended up being a real charmer and was one of my favorite little 2nd graders my next to the last year of teaching.   Here is the presentation of her award last night:

Normal.dotm 0 0 1 87 500 Howard's Music Services 4 1 614 12.0 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false

She broke down in tears when she was given an immediate standing ovation from the group attending.  Left to right in the photo is the VP of the committee, Allauna, Rev. Golden Pres. of the committee, and Allauna's mom, one of my all time favorite Middle school Students.

Then an angel sang!

And I broke down in tears (I don't do THAT often!)  I still have the smile on my face!  Oh, and I brought in a couple rib bones for THAT B-day party for the critters! Wink   I'll read all the posts I have missed when I get a chance.

Hope you all have a great day!

Extra stong Italian roast coffee in a  UNION PACIFIC  mug, please.

Thank you all for the kind words regarding Sandy. Wife & I both had a rough day yesterday. Sat on the back porch on rocking chairs, talked and cried about Sandy's life. Today is a little better. We both miss seeing her blaze face and hearing her call up to us. It is also a relief to have that deed behind me. The brunt of my farm chores revolved around caring for her. Last night was the first full night of sleep I've had in months. Time heals.

***Lee, the cow is still hanging around the barn. I suspect it will wonder off again over the weekend.

***Ray, nice story. BTW, you have a contagious smile. Do you ever frown, I mean ever?

A quiet day here. Wife is in town running errands for her folks and will pick up a new spark plug and fuel filter for the Polaris Ranger. If it doesn't start after that, I'll work through the check list y'all gave me.

Cheers! Cowboy Rob

 Just a quick stop.

Here's a update on my KFC.  Its pretty much done.  I added some lights on the inside,  and some people.  Maybe add a bit of dust or so to the building.  It will look better once I get it "blended" into the scenery.

Thanks Rob!  I spent several years of my life without a smile......  Took that long to have a personal "resurrection" after my wife died.  I decided that I could be much happier seeing the good in life and in diverse people.  One of the defining moments in my life came when My pastor asked me to join the MLK Committee.  I gradually became aware at how truly "well blessed" I am with so many good and caring friends.  Decided that the Lord still had some use for me in this world and I should live in gratitude.  (Sorry, didn't mean to write a book about it!)

Besides the Rector of an Episcopal Church here in town once said, "We spend our lives making a face for ourselves in our old age."   Ever notice how little kids seem to go to some older folks and shy away from others...???  They are very likely reading the wrinkles on the faces and know which ones they should go to....Wink

The only sadness last night was the announcement of the passing of a fairly well known Black artist and civil rights activist in our community.  Clyde Mathis passed away yesterday at the age of 95.  He was an amazing, helpful, caring, and committed person who gave much to this community in many, many ways.  I was privileged to call him friend!  He will be missed!  BTW when Clyde was 92 I had to gentle him out of carrying heavy tables when we were setting up for the dinner after the MLK Service....  At the age of 94 he was still out mowing his lawn and planting flowers around his house.  When I say amazing, I mean just THAT!

Kieth, I think it was you who was asking about how I make scenery???  My thoughts on the subject is there is no one best way.  So much depends on where and what you are modeling.  I have tried to become an observer of both nature and "man made" scenery.  For instance the only things you generally find in a straight line, were created by humans.  Whether it is a city street or a farm furrow.  Nature in the Northeast tends to fill up every available space with life.  Woods are never just a bunch of trees, there is always a dense undergrowth most prominent at the edge of the woods.  Animal trails by nature tend to follow the easiest route.  They therefore wind around the side of a hill rather than going straight up the hills.  THAT said, they will also use the shortest path when possible.  Many highways in the Northeast started out as Indian trails which started out as deer trails through the dense forest.  Probably not much of anything to help here, but those are some thoughts on the matter.  I just try to create what I have seen.

TOOOOOOOT!!!! LUUUUNCH! Cheeseburger with onion rings and a DR Pepper please. Thank you.

Lee- Whoa! So far with mine it only charges the ATM fee if I use an ATM. But, if they do it like yours somewhere it won't take long till it makes it here. I'll keep my eyes open. Usually though when they ask debit or credit, I say credit.

Robby- KFC looks good. Sounds good too. Maybe I'' swing by and garb some chicken. After you get the parking lot farther along of course.

Well, had to run pay the water bill for the church due todayOops, so I haven't been in the basement yet except to do these.....

Sorry about the quality, super especially the blurry one, but photographer I'm not, and with that little screen on the camera I can't see the quality of the picture well until I come up and load it on the computerBlindfold. Then it would be a days worth of trips up and down to get one that's good and I'm too lazy for that. Far from done and, like Robby said, needs to be blended in more, but I wanted to let you see what I've been doing off and on. I've decided to build a wooden wall to keep the hill above the rockface from sliding like I saw in MR this month. That will solve the problem of scenicking such a steep drop somewhat realistically. Besides, I like the looks of it.Big Smile

I'll get some work done on the bridge and it's area in the coming days and show an update on that next. Or maybe the grain elevator area, or maybe Gold Creek or maybe the Post Office/Bar and dance hall area. Depends on what takes some shape first. With me, who knows.

SUCCESS!! I found a gas tank today for $30. It's an 18 to 20 gallon boxlike affair that came off of what my father likes to call an 'I Sues You' (Isuzu) utility truck. It was made for diesel but after a flushing out with kerosene and final washout with 90% alcohol it should work just great with gasoline. I'll need to make a top plate to cover the hole where the fuel pump was but that's a minor detail. A cap covered over with marine epoxy should be good enough. Before that however I'll have to attach a tube inside that will go all the way to the bottom to serve as a suction line for the vans engine mounted fuel pump. I can use one of the two breather lines on the tank as the fuel return line and the other breather line will be used for what it was made for, a breather line. The design of this tank will require that I move the filler nozzle on the van to a higher position, so that will require making a hole for it and filling the old hole in. No great trick to that, just some more metal work. The fun will be constructing the cradle that will hold the tank in place between the rear bench seat and the back doors. The hunt for the steering column goes on.

Hi guys!

Tried to post this AM, but it wouldn't let me, darn it.

Went to have the cather out. Nice to be out but painful still. That should quiet down in a few days. Of course she pumped my bladder full of sterile water and wanted me to pee...that took me about 12 minutes to accomplish, and ooooh  so tender and painful. I have Cipro antibiotic to help guard against any infections and to sterilize the bladder again. She said to double the dose I was taking of FLomax {supposed to do just what it's name sounds like} to see if that helps. I go back in 2 weeks to see how things are going and whether or not I need to be cathed again.

4 Dr.s in 3 days! 22 different medications. oy. but I need them to function "normally"

Jeffrey sounds like you are having way too much fun wiht that van of yours! You may be good at fixing vehicles but not I. I have to take the caravan in next week to the dealer to see about the new computer and what it costs to get to determine if I junk it or what. Right now it stalls out oftena nd when it wants to. It's a godsend we got the Kia when we did-in the nick of time to have a good reliable vehicle. It kinda leaves us to one vehicle though, and we really could use two.

Cute KFC Robby . looks jus like ones I remember. In fact there is one not far from here that has a different restaurant in it now, but the old KFC striped building is there.

Gotta go next weeek and spend some more money on glasses. just got to I can;t really read the computer screen anymore and have to lift my glasses to even see what number I'm dialing on hte phone anymore. I am greatful to be nearsighted as I can read small print without my glasses!

Well, guys got to go for now., I think a nap is in order. I'm tired.

have a great evening!

Sounds like you may have one of the following causing your problem or maybe even a combination of 2 of more of them. #1 - A flaky ignition module, #2 - A bad MAF (mass air flow) sensor, #3 - A bad TPS (throttle position sensor), #4 - a faulty fuel pump relay that's cutting out intermittently. Any one of the four could cause the problem you described. If you're on a limited income like I am all these items can be found at a wrecking yard.

Jim, that's one heck of a story lol. Hey, no one told you that before, their fault, not yours. Garry, no sir that was several years ago. we have a spot that I call the pet cemetery in our back yard where we bury all our dead pets. If I'm remembering right, there's 3 dogs, 2 hamsters, and a guinea pig, then another dog as well buried in the backyard (danged vet gave her too much sleeping meds when she was getting surgery a LONG time ago). der, I'm the man at what? I don't follow lol Jeff, glad to hear you found a gas tank! dern, had gym for two hours today. played basketball against kids older than me and at least three times better than me. tried my hardest but I was no match lol. EDIT: Robby, your town is looking, definitely got the small railroad town feel to it!

 Afternoon.....

GALAXY: Glad to hear they de-snaked the drain... had THAT done once (after the fire engine rollover in '96). I was unconscious when it went in...fully conscious when it came out. The nurse said "take a deep breath, this might be a little uncomfortable." IF they didn't hear me from end to end, and the basement to the top floor...I would be surprised!!! And yes, quite "tender" for a few days...  Not something I'd wish on anybody...well, then again, I DO have my list...Mischief  For what it's worth, we're in a slightly similar debate right now on my truck: fix or replace...with almost zero bucks to do either.

Yup, wrench-turners called...the engine, after nearly 209,000 miles of faithful service, has been deemed beyond hope. It has been on a general decline over the past year or so. They want to stick a "good used" engine in...for a transplant. One has been found with 67,000 miles on it, and a whopping one year warranty. Gee, I feel SOOOOOOOOOOO good about THAT... (not). Loving Wife thinks we should do a little truck shopping...see if we can't find a replacement for my beloved Tori. Either way, we have to talk to the CU about a loan... She was going to take a week off starting next Friday, THAT will likely be moved up a week, starting tomorrow. At least I'll still be able to get to my assignments for THAT. I hate the thought of scrapping Tori...I got her brand new thanks largely to workman's comp money from the aforementioned rollover. You could say, THAT truck was paid for with my blood...and you would be correct. Odds are very good, she'll be the only "new" vehicle in my lifetime. She replaced an '84 Chevy Celebrity I bought from my Dad...and then practically drove the wheels off of it. It was a sight the day we limped it across the scale at the junk yard.

But, we could go with the engine and perhaps add some years to my faithful four-wheeled companion. Then again, the tranny could go out next month, and we'd be back where we started. As it is, we just had the back end rebuilt with new shocks and shackle brackets not too long ago. It still needs tie rod ends and wheel bearings, the AC has been out since last spring; and it has some other "someday we'll fix THAT" issues as well.

Any advice guys?

Times like this make me look back on the past  23 years (since high school graduation), at jobs/careers I've had, opportunities I passed on, or left, or whatever. IF I'd done this...or hadn't done THAT... a whole lot of "what-if's" THAT could've put me in a much better financial condition than where I'm at today.

Just what I don't need while trying to crank-out good content for THAT...

TODD: THAT scene is looking good...some really rugged country. Thumbs Up Rerun will just have to send his regards to Missy... He's already found something else to be ticked about: he wants to know where HIS truck is...and when it'll be back!

RAY: Another neat story. You do meet some good people.  And, meeting Ghandi's grandson? How cool is THAT?! Cool

ROBBY P: I've been wondering how the KFC kit looks all knocked-together...not bad! Thumbs Up Of course, I expected a rusted roof, peeling paint, general overall fade...Smile,Wink, & Grin Is there any kind of interior with it? With all those huge windows, I would presume they'd have to put something in there...Confused

Gotta keep moving...these articles aren't writing themselves...and Rerun is on protest strike!

According to the computer codes it was 1st} the exhaust sensor {replaced with complete new exhaust anyway} and 2nd} the cam shaft locator sensor {replaced recently} and now 3rdly} the computer has coded on itself. All three times the first coding was for the computermodule itself, then coded as secondly as described. The new computer module will have to be remanufactured or from a scrap yard as new ones are no longer available. The double problem is that this van has the CA emmission controls on it, so it makes it doubly hard to find a replacement and it most likely will have to be shipped from CA. My father did pass on some money to me for whatever I may need, and my other half has ben getting finally a few more hours at work, so if I choose to fix it, depending on how much it costs and if it's worth it, the credit card will pay for immediate repairs and the CC will have to be paid off over about 3-4 months. The ONLY thing I put on the CC that I can't always pay off when the bill comes is repairs for the vehicle{s}. The only payment I owe right now is the payment on the Kia, which I have been sending a payment in every three weeks so I will be paying at least a year and a half's worth of payments every year and will use extra monies to pay it off even quicker than the terms of the loan. A 5 year loan wil easily be paid off in 3 years at the least. I HATES payments.

Well, have a great nite guys.

Jeff...I am not sure about the laws in your state. But I know for a fact from being a previous auto technician and licensed state vehicle inspector that here in N.Y modifications to the fuel system like that would be an automatic inspection failure. Our vehicles our inspected annually mechanically and for emissions on the newer years. So check engine lights can cost people thousands to get a sticker. Does LS have anything like that where you have to get your car inspected?..I know N.Y just does it to **** off everyone..bad enough they raised the rates on everything from licenses to plates and registration.

A true friend will not bail you out of jail...he will be sitting next to you saying "that was friggin awesome dude!" Tim...Modeling the NYC...is there any other?

That's rare that the computer would code itself. It usually indicates something else or doesn't work at all. I know the computer on my car is flaky. Test it ten times and it'll indicate a different problem almost every time. But I only need it to run for a couple more months, then I'm selling the whole thing for scrap.

Good evenig Folks: I'll have my dark chocolate and coffeee again please Chloe.

CapeJim:

DerJohn - is it legal to take a shot at those coyotes there, or is it forbidden 'in-town'? Guess I wasn't sure how big Sober Island's population is.  If I lived there, I'd be concerned about the coyotes getting used to humans and going after a child. I've heard of something like that happening in some more rural areas of the U.S.
Not legal, but certainly done! This isn't "Town" except at a technical administrative level. Sober Island's population?  Estimates vary, but probably about 90. As part of the Halifax Regional Municipality, the population would show up as 372,858, which is the 2006 census figure for the HRM!Laugh  On a totally non-laughing matter with these coyotes, there was a 19 year old hiker killed by one in a park in Cape Bretton last Fall. Yes, it is a bit of a worry, hence the local ignoring of the no-fire policy.

Any advice guys?
I know nothing about  this technically, but the thought came, and so I'll pass it on. Would a "Fresh" 65K engine have just too much life and general oomph to be compatible with the 206K parts - tranny and all the rest? IOW, would it rip Tori apart?

 Todd:

DerJohn- We'll see if Mike confirms, but if what you are referring to is what I think you are, the round barrel looking thing is one of them old travel trailers. The old little sorta round ones that people like me and Jim can't stand up in well.
I wondered abouthat looking at it last night, but couldn't see wheels, windows or a hitchBlindfold
but photographer I'm not, and with that little screen on the camera I can't see the quality of the picture well until I come up and load it on the computer .

Lee: Thanks for the casting advice. I've got the Micro-Mark site bookmarked, so can source the rubber, but where do you get the casting resin, and what's it called?

No matter what it pulls funds from your checking account.
which is why neither our Visa or Mastercards are with financial institutions where we have bank accounts. I've heard of folks finding their accounts "raided" by the card company to settle arrears - and we all know that those don't have to be "real" for the action to take place.Disapprove

Ray: Thanks for the inspiring story - that was quite the evening for you. Sorry about the loss of your friend Clyde.

Many highways in the Northeast started out as Indian trails which started out as deer trails through the dense forest.
...same is true of Calgary, less the dense forest of course. Try Google Maps, and go to the airport in Galgary, bounded by the Deerfoot Trail to the west, and the Barlow Trail to the east. (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=51.04449,-114.057&z=14&t=h&hl=en  if it translates in your browser)

Dang! Hoped you wouldn't notice me passing the buck! Mischief  The discussion had started with JR trying to deal with Normal Scale wiring on something or other
Museum last night where I was back on the N gage cleaning and brought all of the nonrunning locos to the shop to see what I can find. Is there a tutorial somewhere on troubleshooting iNvisible scale stuff? I think I might need a scanning electron microscope to do any good. Now where did the optivisor go? For that matter, where did the desk disappear to? J.R.
Todd  helpfully pointed him in the right direction for that
Yes J.R. there is. In fact it contains everything there is to know about N Scale. Problem is it's only in printed form. Three volumes with about 600 pages, not counting the ones with just photos, each. It's around here somewhere..... let's see, where could that be....? Last time I saw it it was right........ lift your spoon.
on which JR commented
Now that you've found the 3 book tome, where do i source the modified nanites to actually carry out the diagnostics and repairs? And where do I source a particle beam accelerator to solder those little tiny wires back together? This iNvisible stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be I'll tell ya. J.R.
and Todd replied
JR.- ........And I's sorry, but you're on your own trying to read the darn manuals. I was lucky to even see the books. Maybe Der can whip something up.
....thinking I could get out of THAT, I passed the responsibility over to yourgoodself. (aka Da Man!) You really should pay attention in class!Tongue

Early start tomorrow for a run to Town (and maybe the LHS in the City, not that there's any budget left for that this month Thumbs Down)  So I'll say goodnight now, and as you know, prayers are continuing. Angel

 Good evening.

Thanks for all of the comments on my KFC.

Chris.....It has a decent interior.  I tried to get some shots but the plastic made them look blurry.

So I'll finally have some money! I hear they get pretty good pay too, even though they do close to nothing... Well, I can't stay, so I'll catch you guys whenever... *sigh*

 Evenin' folks!

Flo just a decafe if you please... I'll go sit in the back booth for a bit and unwind.

Spent part of the day watching my granddaughters.  Their Grandmother was at the hospital having her kidney checked to see what is going on (some may remember the problem she had a month ago).  She had to have the drainage tubes removed and then a biopsy to see what the mass is.  Great news, tghere is no mass anymore and they can't find anything wrong now.  She is completely healed and should be back home now.

After I got back home from THAT, I put on my R&GV Shirt and headed to Rochester for the RR Hysterical Society May Meeting.   Tonight was elections and Member Slide Show night.  The best slide was one of an old RS2 ALCO sitting on a siding with a nice big plume of smoke spewing forth from the stack with a fire engine sitting right near it on the highway.  The goes that someone saw the smoke and called the Fire Dept.  The truck had been going up and down the road for a half hour trying to find the fire.........Laugh

I am completely exhausted as I only slept for about 3 hours last night.  Think I will turn in a bit early.

BTW, thank you to those of you who mentioned the story and photos from last night.  We always seem to hear so much about those who are not turning out so well (and I think we have always had them amongst us....), I enjoy showing some of the many who do turn out well and particularly those who exceed all expectations.

Peace and Joy to all of you, and prayers for all in need!

I hope not!!! Actually, Loving Wife used to have a high-mileage, 80-something Bronco 2. When it quit running, a friend of ours opened up the engine and found, of all things...a bird's nest in it. ConfusedShock Needless to say, it was shot and then some (the engine, the bird wasn't home). We had him put in a "crate" engine. She never had any trouble with it working and playing nicely with the other parts. Fact is, she'd still be driving it if she hadn't destroyed it in a most spectacular display back in 20 O and 4...

I think the engine is about our only hope. We can (hopefully) get a "small" amount tacked onto an existing loan. I rather doubt they'd float us much for a veeee-hicle. Besides, I discovered something while perusing online dealer listings. Yeah, I found some potential replacements I think I'd like...but it boiled down to being like seeing a cute lady somewhere. Sure, I'd like to "hop in and take a drive," but...my love is at home. Looking for a new truck felt like...looking for a new Loving Wife!

I think I need a pychoatreeist! Either THAT or I've had the truck so long it's become a part of me...

ROBBY P: THAT's the cleanest interior of a KFC THAT I've ever seen! Shock Dead I still vividly remember the incredibly scuzzy KFC THAT used to be in Clinton, Iowa. I think the CNW car shops down the street from it were probably cleaner inside. Livers and Gizzards on special, every Tuesday...Dead

Welp, I've got three articles done and ready to turn over to THAT, with a fourth coming yet tonight. I was asked to do a "short" piece on the Solon Lady Spartans varsity soccer team. The coach sent me a freakin' book!!!!!!!

I'd best get at it... keeping busy with w**k stuff helps take my mind off truck/money stuff...

Chris, I had a long reply to your Tori question when the phone rang and I had a long chat with a fellow about the up-coming NMRA convention here and of course my reply went phoof as the computer decided it had waited long enough and locked up. In any event my advice from a strictly financial point of view, was to add up the cost of all the repairs required and then see if you could get a better vehicle for that amount. Assuming Tori's body ( oops, can I say that?) is in good shape and interior is good, I'm willing to bet the numbers would say "repair".

Well it is late now and Pippa is telling me it is time for bed, so good night all.

Decaf Columbian coffee, please.

***Der, I see room for more on that train. Wonder if they ever reach capacity?WhistlingLaugh

***Robby, nice KFC.

***Ray, get some sleep!

After replacing spark plug, fuel filter & air filter (all of which needed replacement), turned the key a couple times and noticed no fuel entering the new filter. Got the tester and checked, plenty of current running into the fuel pump, but no pumping action. Think I found the problem, unless it has additional problems as yet undiscovered. Will order a new pump tomorrow.

Thunder boomers heading our way. Have a good night all.

Thanks CN Charlie, yup...so far, THATs how the numbers are coming out. Her body is in fantastic shape...Shock The interior could use a major cleaning...but THAT's just from all the hours I've spent in there. The steering wheel used to have a texture to it...it's smooth now, if THAT gives you any idea how much "wheel time" I get. There's a little rusting on the bottom of the passenger door and the bottom of the tailgate, but no major grasshopper attacks. No small feat living in Iowa with all the salt and liquid salt brine they dump on the roads every winter. Most of the rest of what she needs is more in the "nuiscence" catagory. With some planning and frugality, the tie rod end and wheel bearings can be managed fairly easily.

I gotta figure out this Lady Spartan story... "Spartan Girls Really Know How to Kick Balls..."

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Might need to work on THAT a bit more...

 back on page 28.

What is that between the two picnic tables?  Maybe it's covering the "missing" fire pit Clown. I think Keith may be onto something about the lines-of-sight, and Barry was talking about the "rounded trees" (the two on the river bank,) that I think are hard to see through. I agree the tent is spot on for the era.Thumbs Up

And TODD wins the prize. It is an early to mid 50's camper, which I pickup at train show some time ago. It looks kinda like ours, a 1960 Shultz [think that spelled right] only ours has the wings on the back.

Thanks for all the suggestions most which I should have seen. Guess I just looked at it to long, anyway. I used the round top trees [lifelike] because that's what I had on hand, so they will be changed. JOHN, the 2 along the branch do need to be different. The picnic tables will also be changed. They just look too big to me anyway. Think I need to cut down some trees that would help with the line of sight. After all the 2 more tents hidden and a MOW truck in there. Still need to make fire pits for the camper and the tent site, the others have them already.

Thanks again for the ideas, but I best get round for now anyway. I'll try caught up more laters, maybe when Earls taking one of his naps. Thoughts for all those in need n hope ya'll has a gooden

Good morning all,

Jeff, you could keep both fuel tanks, mark one as sand and one as fuel.

John, you can get it from the same site, or you can buy a kit.

After Inch’s pictures I think we have a new acronym: UMRO, Unidentified Model Railroad Object.

When viewed from the right it looked like a UMRO, but Inch calmly dismissed it as a 1950’s camper trailer. There is a small group of UMRO enthusiasts that claim it’s a model government cover-up of a much larger military conspiracy. Not many people in town are giving it much thought since a majority of the UMRO community were former members of the “the Earth is flat and made of plywood” movement popular back in the 1960’s.

Good morning all. Scramble eggs, bacon, hash browns and a biscuit with Rhubarb jam please. Yup coffee too thank you.

Lee- sssssssshhhhh! Don't talk about the Government and UMRO's. They'll tell your family and friends you're crazy and haul you off. Then they put you in a room in a facility underground somewhere in Nevada. No, not there, but close by, until they brainwash you into believing that UMRO's are only models and that GERN Industries doesn't really exist except in the model world and makes Flux( yeah, more like a cover for facilities to investigate and house FLying Unidentified Xtraterrestrials). The lucky ones come out happy as a Lark with no concerns about Government conspiracies, but usually as a side effect are prone to getting the Gout. It's the poor unfortunate weaker minded ones that have suffered, they will never be able to actively contribute to society again. The brain damage is too severe. The result is a mental defect that makes them feel they are government and are the only ones who need pay raises. Sadly, this also affects their decision making process turning them in to what many refer to as a "Bonehead". Unable to make an intelligent decision regarding anything more complicated than placing two toothpicks side by side, and don't expect them to be even. Oddly, they can concoct very complicated plans if there is some benefit to themselves, so I guess the damage is limited and not broad. The government tries to hide theses mistakes and has discovered that the easiest way to hide something is in plain view. They have a Keyword when referring to them.....Congress.

Have a Great Day!!!!

Yeah here in NY, apparently only a dealer can only install/program/reprogram a new computer system. It may not make sense and be more expensive than say someone else. It's still a PITA.

We shall see next week when I take it into the dealer what he says. If it gets fixed, we were planning on running it into the ground anyway so keeping it another 6 years might make it worthwhile. Of course it also needs shocks and more inportantly struts. Many other new parts have gone into it in the last 2 years, but i was replacing 10-11-12 y/o original equipment, not bad for original equipment.

I see the neurosurgeon the 17th of next month to see what he says about the chronic back pain I experience daily. I have a copy of the MRI results to give him to be sure he has them at time of examination, I'm not sure I'm keen on them inserting needles in my spinal column or messing with my my back, but I guess I don't have a choice.

Well i have some household chores to attend to as long as my back holds out.

HAve a great day!
