Moo.

Hi, dropped by to share some HO WIP pics.

I had a pic of the Athearn MRR Boxcar I wanted to share. But the pic screwed up. The above car is a Ringling coach. Ready to be decalled with customs I made.

Prototype:  (First car)

Happy Birthday!

Coffee and lemon pie please, Cloe.

It took me a while to get through several days of posts.  You guys are windy.

Love the photos, Jim.

Bob,  Glad you are back sharing again.  We are getting closer to part of our wye, so it is great to see yours.

Mark,  Sounds like you did well at Puyallup.  My favorite layout was the Mount Ranier group.  I took so many pictures last year that I didn't even take my camera.

Evening, Chloe - anyone heard back from Jeff (or young David)? He left around 9:30 (our time) this morning and I haven't seen a post by him since. Hoping that maybe the doctor's only keeping him for treatment and observation. Confused [%-)] Jeffrey, where are ye, man?

Guess I'll have a hot cocoa in the meantime while I/we wait. Thanks, Chloe.

Der, good to hear that it didn't take much to get things running for you. Yeah!! [yeah] I can almost  see the smile on your face as you were posting...Glad it was a simple fix for it. Nice feed, too!

Happy B-Day [bday], Jerry! Can I have some of that cake and ice cream? Thank you! So did you celebrate by doing anything special? Make a run to the LHS? Work on the layout? Wink [;)]

Flashwave, looks like some nice passenger cars. Uh, but I didn't see any Daylight Orange on them, though... Whistling [:-^]  Whistling [:-^] Whistling [:-^]

Sue, those were actually Garry's photos of the RSD-15/Alligators. I just found them very interesting. Better watch it or I'll have a longer list than I should for Santa...

I'll be working on my cake & ice cream at the corner booth if anyone needs me, Chloe.

Blessings,

Good Evening All,

Happy Birthday Jerry - hope it was a good one. I'd love some cake and ice cream if there's a bit left.

Stayed home from the museum tonight as #2 son got in from college. He's so active that I barely got to see him last time home but he was here a solid two hours before a friend called and dragged him off. He'll be around for Thanksgiving and right up until the CFO and I leave for Ca next week.

Jeff - hope things work out ok. Way too many issues for you lately.

Got a couple of hours in cleaning and putting in streets on the layout plus finished for now the Model Power stuff. Put the last roof on using Northeast Scale shingles which really look the bomb. Next scratch build I try will use them for siding. Cutting them is tricky though as they are just spotted together so you need to soak them through from the back side so they don't fall to bits.

Been a long day so I'll turn in. Hope the rest of you are well and PC i am keeping you and the missus in my prayers.   CUL, J.R.

Evening folks-just coffee for me since I'm still working off dinner Dawn made earlier.

Hmm-since Jeff isn't back yet I would guess (& hope) he's getting some beneficial treatment that may require an overnight stay. Hard to tell. I'm sure we'll get some word soon. I'm familiar with the bad side effects of diabetes as it's affected several friends & family members (including my Mom & her side of the family.)

Jim & Rob, I started to type that I didn't know who made that MOW equipment but it seemed very familiar to me. Then it hit me-AHM put them out in the late 70's early 80's. I remember the ads in MR. They were $12-15 back then I think. (notice it has horn-hooks too.) Not sure on that bumper though.

I was going through my pics of last weekend again, & realized some more weren't -too- terrible. I'll probably post those this weekend on WPF.

Der-Since I'm full right now, can I get a rain check for dinner the tomorrow nite or the next? gotta love that hi-speed!

K, gonna hit it folks-everyone have a good nite!

Great news: Barbara was reading through side effects for the drug they had her dad on (for seizures) and made the Doctors put him on a different drug today. He has since regained his faculties and is already walking again with a quadcane. In a couple days he should be returning to the assisted living facility and not a nursing home. Obviously Barbara is happy about this. She gets another GOLD STAR for her medical detective skills.

Evening Gang:

Rob I sent you a PM about Brad's trains let me know if you get it. Those JD folks seem to know how to stick it to you even if they can't figure out how much anti-freeze to use. If it were me I'd take that leaking tire to them and make them fix it and then tell them they have seen the last of me. Is your tractor a JD? Barbara is really a gem. It's nice to have a med pro in the familly.

Jeff: Take care. let us know what is happening or have David drop us a line.

Jerry: A very Happy BirthdayHappy B-Day [bday]. I'd have some of that cake a n ice cream but I also have sugar issues.

Mary Ann and I worked on fences most of the day. We are having to replace a corner set up and the ground is dry and hard. I couldn't get the post hole digger to dig into the clay below the sandy top soil. I filled the holes with water and am letting them set over night. It's supposed to get cold tomorrow and stay that way for the rest of the week. At least we won't be sweeting in the heat.

Well gang I'll say Good Night and head for bed.

Hello everyone...

Some hot cider, please.

Now, I'm really concerned about our favorite KCS fan. Anybody have any direct contacts with Jeff? Is David out there? Continued prayers.

Jim CG, check the original post of the ATSF RSD15's.  You'll see I'm not the one who posted it. I've seen some of those models and must say I like them a lot.

Rob .... Thumbs Up [tup] for Barbara, the medical sleuth. It's good news about your FIL.

Jerry: Happy B-Day [bday]

I workd on the layout today. I have completed the basic bench work for my 24' extension. No photos of that part of layout will be available anytime soon. Lots of work ahead.

Good Morning Zoe, how about some scrambled eggs and bacon, with a biscuit, some blackberry jam, and a JR regular, please?

Thank you, ma'am. I hope you've ordered enough pumpkin (and maybe other) pies in for PC's Thanksgiving. That fella does like those pies! Wink [;)]

Garry, I was just letting Sue know that those Alligator pics weren't originally posted by me. Guess she'll need to hunt down the original post to find out. If we don't have her totally confused with our Diner version of "Who's on first?" Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Rob, great that Barbara found what was was behind your FIL's seizures. Hey, I was praying for the medical staff helping him - just hadn't realized that might include Barbara! Wink [;)] Good that they have your FIL feeling better and back in the home, safe 'n' sound. Indeed a feather in her cap. Thumbs Up [tup]

Back to w**k this morning, but at least I have most of my voice back. And it's payday!

Then after work, pick up some more groceries - small turkey 'roll' (the forum won't let me call the white meat portion by its name Confused [%-)]), cranberry sauce, etc. You know, the fixin's! Dinner [dinner]

So, how many of you are having the Thanksgiving dinner at your place (vs. at another family member's or elsewhere)? And what time should I show up? Laugh [(-D] (Just foolin' with you...)

I got word the other day that some MRR items I'd ordered came in - couple of CMW delivery vans, a Walthers single track truss bridge, and a couple of the Heritage Furniture kits for a background industry yet-to-be-kitbashed. But my MRR club member and LHS owner will be gone until Monday visiting one of his kids, so I'll have to wait until Monday night to get those. Ah, well.

Better get working on my eggs before they cool off. Prayers for a great Thanksgiving for all you Diners (and our virtual servers and cook).

Blessings,

Mornin all!

Jeff, where are you?  Hope you're OK!  Prayin' for ya!

Rob, give Barbara a pat on the back from me!  Good job!  I was a bit concerned for a while, but that's some detective you got there!  Saved the day!

Jerry, Happy Belated!  I wasn't able to make it in yesterday due to some crazyness, but maybe this Bday wish will still be OK.

Good Morning All,

That looks good Zoe, I'll have the same as Jim. Haven't had blackberry jam for a while and that sounds too good to pass up. Overcast but dry and warmer this morning. Good to hear Robs' FIL is getting better and ditto on the benefits of having a professional on staff.. at home. Still worrying about - Jeff those infections can be bad. I've been lurking since early, but I've been out back in the shop shifting cars around as one of ours is going back to Chicago and its' former owner this morning. The transport companies alweays call at the last minute and then promise an early pickup then show long after you were to have gone home.

Waiting not too patiently to hear about the New Haven I-5 hybrid and hoping it's the same sounds and accuracy as the brass version that was released earlier this year. It'll look the bomb hauling my passenger consist around the upper level of the layout. Well gotta go and get some w..k done.  CUL, J.R.

Good morning folks!

Chloe...set me up with a couple eggs sunny side up, grits, hash browns, wheat toast with grape jelly, and some of Ed's fresh squeezed too!

Went to the doc yesterday morning with a sore throat and ear aches, now on antibiotics and starting to feel a bit better now

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!

I started the preparations for the big meal last night. Got the stuffing done, and BTW Dick, I made it with fresh pork sausage! If you want the recipe let me know and I'll post it for you all here in the Diner! Then I'm going to stuff the bird with it tomorrow just before roasting time.

Thanksgiving Dinner also includes my Bourbon Sweet Potatoes Casserole, Baked Acorn Squash, Peas and Rice, and Giblet Gravy too. Oh, and some pumpkin pie and bourbon chocolate pecan pie all with fresh whipped cream on top.

We are going to one of Monique's ole high school friends for Thanksgiving and I'm preparing the meal, our way of giving thanks!

Sue - $5.00 at the train show must have been restraining to keep into that tight a budget! Heck, the last train show here a few weeks ago charged $5.00 a head just to walk in the front door...

Good thing it's not the breaking kind...... Big Smile [:D]

Garry - Budget....what budget? Whistling [:-^] Sometimes the RR has a need to spend on some capital, got to build up the RR business assets and equity!

Jerry - Glad that Sallie is better now! And Happy 60th Birthday! Happy B-Day [bday]

Corey - Your frugal sense makes perfect cents!

Bob K. - How's it going? Nice photos, thanks for sharing again!

Rob - Thoughts and prayers are with you and the family, and glad to here dad is getting better. And speaking of hay, I here the price has gone way up here in NC due to the drought conditions.

J.R. - Your neighborhood houses are going up just as fast as the new subdivisions are going up around here! Great job!

Jim - Nice surf and turf dinner you got there, any left for lunch today?  Dinner [dinner]

Good morning diners?

Where am I having T-day dinner?  After reading Ryan's menu, I'm headed there! Make room for my family, Ryan!!!

Seriously, Shelley and I will be with some of her family in Nashville, TN tomorrow and the next day we will be in Birmingham, AL with some of my family. Menu?  I think it's turkey.

Jeff's problem sounded really bad.  It's good he went to the doctor, and I beleive he's in good care. Prayers for him.

Have a nice day before Thanksgiving.

Good morning folks. Sorry, I don't know you all by name. I just wanted to wish everyone  a Happy Thanksgiving.  I won't be near a computer tomorrow, so I figured I'd say it now.

I just completed a Christmas list for my mother.  I managed to squeeze in quite a few items for $100. Three Model Power houses, one Walthers church, three Jordan Products cars, and two boxes of atlas telephone poles.  Not bad for a days shopping.  I had to try to get as many projects funded as possible.  My wife doesn't care if I spend thirty dollars in a week on fast food.  If I spend twenty a week on trains and ten on cold cuts, that's a no no.  My mother, God bless her soul, sees the benefit of having a distraction.  Therefore, she helps with the hobby budget.  Not that my wife doesn't approve of trains, she just doesn't see the point of it.

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving!  I hope everyone has a good day.

Hopefully Jeff is at home getting some much-needed bedrest.

I was home "on quarters" all day yesterday too with a fever.  It's that time of year, I guess...

Anyway, I'm starting to amass the pieces and parts I need to build a PRR M1 4-8-2 in N scale.  If you've followed my whining from time to time you'll know that Precision Craft Models announed a PRR M1 in N scale with sound and DCC over 3 years ago.  At Trainfest 2007 one of the PCM reps apparently leaked that pre-orders were only 25% of what they wanted before they would start production.  Forget that!  I'm canceling my pre-order and doin' it myself!

Here's the beast I plan to build in N:

This is, in fact, a PRR M1b.  I'll be building the plain M1, but with the same 210F75 tender.  True Pennsy fans know the difference!

in a UNION PACIFIC mug. please & thank you!

***Garry, if you are travelling close to Fairmount, you are welcome to drop by. I suspect you will be far east of us though.

***Corey, mighty nice of your mom to help out. Sorry your wife isn't all the way on board.

***Dave, will look forward to seeing the end result. Don't blame you one bit for cancelling your order either.

***Paul, got your pm. Wish he had an online store though. Thanks! And yes, our little tractor is a JD.

Sure hope to hear some news from Jeffrey by this evening. His description of that foot was quiet concerning. I didn't ask Barbara for her thoughts as she is way too accurate at predicting outcomes.

THANKS GUYS for all the kind words regarding Barbara and her dad. I shared them with her. She already left early for work to pick up a few tubes of oil paint I couldn't buy online and then have some time to visit with her folks before work.

Well, looks like a decent chance for some rain and I must get hay today, get the tires back on, transfer water, and slope the ground better beside the enclosed porch...and that is just for starters. Catch y'all later.

Hello ...

Philip.... How's Mrs. PC's recovery now?

Dave V. ... The Pennsy 4-8-2's were impressive. Looking forward to seeing your results. The other stuff you have done is quite impressive. I used to see a lot of Pennsy at Chicago Union Station in my youth. I'd ride the Q into Chicago and see many keystones there. My book collection includes the Pennsy Power books.

Rob .... Thanks for the invite. We'll be on I-65 between Nashville and Birmingham, however.

Jeff? ... worried about you.

Dave!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING and good luck on that new PRR engine!

 PRR steamers are real beasts!!!
Just finished getting my two mainlines in and running two of my BLI steamers (HO) on it.
Time to start setting up my freight yeard, and industrial sidings, along with my PRR old timer passenger excursion route.I may run it totally independent from my DCC setup, since it's DC anyway.Still lots to do!

If Uncle Sam ever settles you someplace for a while, you might want to consider an investment I made in my home.I put in a built in sauna, and when I get a bug or a cold, I hit that suana at least three to four times a week!
It REALLY HELPS!!!
I crank that sauna box up to about 150 to 160 degrees, and go set in there for a half hour. I can add steam, or do a dry heat sauna(my option), then a nice hot shower, but it sure kicks those bugs out quicker!!!

get well soon Dave!

Afternoon all.

I'm enjoying my day off so far.

Dave V: Sounds like a neat project, although I think PCM is making there M1 (or M1b, I don't remember) in N.

Flashwave: So I see you're a daylight fan too... I have three daylight locomotives, (GS-4, F7A, and E9) but no daylight cars... I can't ever seem to find any.

Still no Jeff... Praying he's fine.

Prayers for all in need [ and for those that don't think they do.]

Still no word from Jeff.
