PhilaKnight,

Sorry about the news.  I have a few friends from the fire dept. on the job there...tough place.  Reading this forum is the first place I have heard of the shootings.  I have been out of touch with a lot lately between work, kids, shooting the movie, and being ill.  From a former FF's point of view, you build relationships with your brothers that is tighter than even blood brothers.  When you lose a guy on the job, it seems like the world has changed for the worse and everything will be different from now on....you have my sympathies and prayers.

On a brighter note, Hope all goes well with the special delivery on it's way.  Not scientific, but every woman I know of has the baby shortly after the ankles swell.  Many folks talk about marriage changing a person.....not us, we were the same until kids came along.

Take care,

dennis

Sorry John,  I have them, just need to locate and send.  I will ask wife as she has cataloged the photos.

Chief, hope Pam enjoyes her ride.  I have heard nothing but good about 4-runners.

Hope everyone is having a good Friday eve.

I would like to thank everyone for there support. Was at work when I heard about my friend. If anyone is interested www.Domelights.com is a site that has a section all about Philly cops, it has alot of stuff about the choas happining here. So i'm going to leave it at that, this is one of my Happy Places.

So I came home from work today and tried to fix the door bell and the 15minute job turned into 2 hours and replacing the door frame. I should stick to being a cop.

Still no little one but my wifes says she is moving lot and her back is hurting her something terrible. I got yelled at by her when I told her she should do jumping jacks, that it might speed it up.

Now I'm curious as to if there's at least one of these threads on every MRR fourm now that I've found this one.

PhilaKnight you have our thoughts and prayers....our neighboring city just lost a SWAT team member 2 weeks ago. Our SWAT team was with them when it happened and it's very devastating to all, no matter the circumstances. Stay safe out there and I hope they catch that Censored [censored] soon. And congrats on the soon to be new arrival!

Colin-glad to hear the knee is feeling better. I hope the surgery turns out good for you. I'm glad I had mine taken care of.

Hope everyone else is well. We are all starting to get colds....brought home by the germ catchers....thanks kids!

I've been working on Brent's tender tonight. First I got the paint right but the rivets didn't look too good. Then the rivets were good but the paint was off. I think I've finally got the tender as good as I can get it. It's downstairs drying and will make an awesome addition to my collection. Wink [;)]

I also played a rousing game of Go Fish with the kids. Mikey won handily...

Off to unload the dishwasher and clean up the kitchen. Then perhaps a NYC RS-2 (or is it a 3) pulling a coal drag.

jef John- I'm guessing philly is somewhat like Detroit, More like the wild west than civilized.I think the only job scarier than a cop would be a school bus driver.all those little monsters now thats scary.

Brent- that bridge in Toledo opened this year and cost five or six lives before it was finished.

We have sunshine today, but chilly 50s,looks like thats the best we are going to get. Got my show stuff ready so I will get on to other things.    Stay away from those cheeseburgers.  Sir James

Good afternoon,

Colin, Nice to see you back posting on the pot.  All the best on the knee problem.

Chuck, So what's for dinner tonight? Smile [:)] Got to keep the wife's strength up!

PhilaKnight, Our prayers are with your friend.  Wife and I like to visit Philadelphia a couple of times a year, but we usually stay on Penn Square and visit the downtown and historic areas.  Used to like the Italian market but that has changed so much we haven't been there in a few years.  Could be a great city if they could get things under control.

Take care,

Brutus,
I recently had some computer issues that McAfee and Norton couldn't isolate or resolve.  Found this company's products (Spyware Detector and Max Registry Cleaner) to be well worth the money spent!  No problems since running them and the computer/inet connection have never been faster!

Colin - glad you are back in action, sounds like a very cool laptop!  With HP computers (at least in the past) they have recovery software that is stored on the HD.  I believe there is a way to burn it onto CD's for a backup.  Take a clue from a friend of mine at work who got a virus- the virus got the whole HD including the "restore" software and files.  Be sure to make a good backup of the restore stuff asap - just in case!  Good luck on the knee!

I'm thinking of getting an Xbox 360 for Christmas so I can play The Orange Box.  My desktop would play HL2 and HL2:Ep1, but only with most of the visuals turned off.  Rather than update my old PC, I think it would be cheaper and smarter to get a new gen console!  My kids want a Wii, so maybe get both (1 for Dad, 1 for kids!).  I might have some questions for you in the future.

Jim,

You are welcome to ask any questions that you want about the 360. I love my 360.

Well, I have to pay off the laptop ASAP. My christmas money is going to it, and then once I start working again, money from there will go to the finishing of the finances for that. I payed the TV in full as well as my 360.

Hello everyone,

Sorry for my recent leave of absence. I have been in physical therapy and I have regained a lot of control in my knee. The surgery will be the 21st of December.

Philaknight I have heard so much about the shootings on the news up above where you are. Congrats on the new one coming!!!!

Chief, good luck with the new 4 Runner. I have heard nothing but good things about them.

I hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

spanky and sir james...

Back in January 2005 I was heading to Detroit for the autoshow and we were driving the slolum between the bridge piers.  I've been tracking the progress ever since, but never found if it was completed.  I know it was delayed due to a construction worker death.  The bridge looks very impressive, especially that night shot! WOW!

PhilaKnight,
Just read where your friend passed away, so incredibly sorry to hear that!  You and all will be in our prayers.  My family is from the Philly area and I don't know what happened there that has caused all this.  I have my opinions, but will keep them to myself as this is not the place for the airing of that.

Just wanted you to know that you and all your co-officers' work and sacrifice does not go unnoticed, nor unappreciated by the majority of the citizens.

God Bless you all.

Morning all.  PK, my thing and shooters of law enforcement officers is immediate assignation of the shooters.  They got shot resisting arrest.  I'm a little predigest as I have a lot of friends in law enforcement, two of my chilcren are in law enforcement and I was an aux officer.

Off to get new 4 Runner this afternoon.  Wife could not wait.  Been on the phone handling the particulars.  Also on the phone handling the arrigant County Planning Director.  She got chewed by County Officials.  [Yankee]

Off with by-pass plans to show lady how it will effect her driveway.  Back and do some trains until wife get home to go to dealership.
