Hi all, 20:30hrs here in Peterborough.

Jim F, That Hogwarts set looks great. Got one on the way over the pond for my sons Xmas present.

We just got mains power on to the Garage and GamesroomSmile [:)]. Fixed up the outside lights this afternoon. Power sockets are now live in the Garage. Internal lights and gamesroom sockets to be done after plasterer has been next week. Big thank you to my neighbour who is a electrician for doing the final connections. He checked out the FIL and my wiring and it seams we have everything right (so far Wink [;)]).

Its Miller time, help yourselfs to a cold one.

Brutus,

I have the Xbox 360 Pro, but I wish I had the Elite.  The Pro has the 20 GB HDD, while the Elite has the 120GB HDD.  The 20 GB fills up quickly.  I also think the black Elite looks better than the plain white 360s.  Email me...

Morning All

Brutus-JT's mega steam works very well but be warned,  IF you have an allergy to candle scents then stay away from Mega-steam. It makes my nose run and my eyes water just like candles.I can't go near one of those candle shops.

We had frost and 32 this morning, low 50s with sun for the day.

Morning all.  Power has been off for a while as they transferred two big service entrance cables from an old pole to a newer one.  Then had to hang a street light.  So, I put a coat of Finish First polish [polymer coating] on the 4 Runner.  No she is SLICK.  Power just came back on.  Have not heard from Miss Edna about the Lionel Big Boy.  Will call her at 1 PM [when she opens] and see.  Wife coming home at 1 so I bet we go for a ride.  Can you believe it, she has NOT driven the 4 Runner yet.  I got the navigation started last night [registered home and etc] and got the XM satellite radio turned on and stations programed.  Bluetooth cell phones set up.  Ready to ride.  Hope all have a great weekend.  Got to go to Wilmington tomorrow as SIL is throwing a wedding party for his sister.  Youngest and SIL do not know we already have vehicle.  Will get to take Lionel Thomas set to Grandson.  Later

The pizza was very good, Doug. But I'm sure you have had some outstanding pizza in your day. Chicago is pizza Mecca as far as I'm concerned!

88 - get the matching boots!  Whistling [:-^]  Don't feel too bad, I was supposed to have the basement done last year!

Mike C - The Bob and Tom show ROCKS!  I'm seriously thinking of getting a subscription so I could download and listen to the entire show each day.  I've been a listener for about 11 years I guess.  Congrats to Lucas!  Just one thing, at work "IU" means "Individual Unemployability"!  Shock [:O]Wink [;)]

Colin - I was looking at the various configurations of the XBox360.  I like the Arcade version since it is cheaper, but as I understand it the backwards compatibility to play old XBox games is actually a software emulation and requires a harddrive?  I don't intend to download movies or tv shows or anything like that, so I think the 20G HD will be enough - what do you think?

Doug M - The HWE is VERY cool, you need one for your British Rail project!  Now my daughter wants to get out all our Harry Potter Lego sets and make that the scenery?!  We'll see....

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Morning from a sunny and cold Chicago where our scoot in this morning was massively late due to 'freight train interference' according to the robo-loudspeaker in the passenger car. Actually, one of the rare overnight freights on this line died blocking the cross-over, and we actually had to run inbound on the right, not on the left like the normal Chicago and North Western. How scary. CNW - there ARE similar threads in the other Trains.com forums... This one's the best though...Wink [;)] Now to catch up to work.

Jim, how was yesterday's pizza?

Brutus, that HWX looks wonderful.

Congratulations to Lucas!

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the low 60s.  Tmcc man, good to hear from you.  You know what they say about nurses on the "Bob and Tom" show, "They're hot and ready to party".  Chuck, hope your waitress/wife's surgery goes well.  Philaknight, I have some ideas as to get the labor started, but I can't say them on this family oriented forum.    All I can say is that when you have certain problems, sometimes the best solution is to repeat the steps that lead to the problem :-)  (Wink, wink, nod, nod)

I have great news (except for Buckeye).  Lucas has been accepted to attend IU!!!  He got his letter yesterday.  He was so excited and relieved.  (For those who do not know, IU's colors are red and white).

He also found out he got an A in Earth Science instead of a B+, which means he made the honor roll as well.  So, yesterday was a very good day.

I spent about an hour last night running both the 8E and the 10E, and both ran well.  I also went to the YMCA for a 30 minute jog/run.  I was 10 seconds shy of another 5 MPH average, which is not bad for twice in one week, and my weight is finally starting to go down.

The dining car was a little heavy with the toast this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cold 28 degrees. Sun is trying to come up. Going up to 60 today, with sunshine.

Today, I am taking it easy. I have one errand to run and then I will relax. It has been a busy week. I will run trains this afternoon. Need to do some serious dusting in train room. All else is normal.

Dining Car is here and it has some extras on it. Breakfast.

Y'all have a great Friday.

Morning fellas...

Well I messed up the toilet room plumbing last night... I returned the wrong 90 degree elbow to Lowes, so now I have to go get another one! Banged Head [banghead] Also have to pick up another 90 degree elbow for the water supply... either I can't count, or my mind is really messed up in generating images right now... Sad [:(]

So to compensate I worked on my Williams B&O Shark Non-Powered Unit upgrades last night.  The B-Unit went VERY well.  Start to finish took less than 30 minutes!  Pics on another thread after I get back from my meeting.  The Non-Powered A-Unit (the one that runs backward) didn't go so well.  I had everything installed and took the powered chassie downstairs to test.  Couldn't get it to go in reverse when the other two were going forward! So I reread the instructions, and it says to swap the connectors... did that... same result... so I'll have to play with it some more... at one point all three took off at full tilt in the same dirrection on the elevated track... WHAM! Broke a horn off the leading A-Unit! Disapprove [V]Banged Head [banghead]Thumbs Down [tdn]Angry [:(!]Black Eye [B)] So have to fix that now too...

If all else fails I can always have a powered A, B and a non-powered A.  When they do run in the right dirrection together they are very smooth, even at low speed.

Top of the morning to Y'all!

A little time before patient comes to the room.  We have a production meeting this afternoon and get back to filming next week.  The train part will be the week after.  It is a lot of work, but is also a lot of fun and in the end, we hope to glorify God.

All this talk of the HWE being delivered has started the bug in me.  I can hardly wait to get it, perhaps this afternoon.  Anyway, hope all is well.

Good morning from New England. Cool and windy here today. Rain tomorrow from some hurricane.

Ran trains last night after finishing up Brent's tender. That Cheapie NYC diesel sure runs nice.

Brownies this afternoon and my brother is coming for a visit later. Should be fun.

I may have misled, easy to do reading my last post.

The neighbor lady is a good friend of ours.  I maintain, her tractor, and she lets me borrow it, and I snow blow her driveway in the winter.  This is only because she really won't let me cut her grass too...I have volunteered many times.

I usually take care of cleaning her drive, and her side of the lot.  She tries to beat me to the cleaning.  We were both doing the same area between our houses at the same time.  She started blowing leaves at me, and laughing histerically!  So I returned the favor!  We both had a great laugh together, and finished pushing all the leaves to the street!  We both have 10+ mature oaks and hickories on 1/3 acre of land so we do leaves every week for 4-5 weeks.  So this was all in fun..

I grew up with a viscious neighbor, I know how miserable this can be.  I make a point to go the extra mile, and take care of those around us.

You guys buying game boxes etc. surprise me. Why don't you do what I've done? Get a few Gig's of Train Simulator. I have Microsoft Train Simulator, Trainz and RailDriver. As I am short of space I find it a fitting substitute for a layout.

Dennis,

Looking foreward to the photo's of the American Pub The Landlady of the Armoury might even treat me to a pint of wallop!

A dull mild day in Stockport 16degC normal 11degC. No I don't buy the global warming crap, nor do a lot of others when I count the increasing numbers of gas guzzling (@$9.00 a gallon) tractors (SUV's) on our narrow crowded roads.

Hope every one has a good weekend. May all the sick get well and all the fit stay that way.

Sir James - thanks for the Banilla!  Actually, the kids don't like the smell of Lionel smoke and I didn't get around to buying any scented, so we had that turned off.  I'll try and get to the LHS tomorrow or this weekend and get some scented smoke and try it out.  Also still need to test my new smokey halloween freight car - same reason!

Are there any particular brands of scented smoke that are NOT safe for Lionel trains?

I'll take pics of it smoking too.
