HI GIZ,

Pulled out all old tomatoe plants, bean plants, kolhrobi plants, and lettuce.  Turned soil and then put in compost, leaves grasses, old flowers etc.  Took about an hour added lime and 5-10-5 to sweeten soil for next spring.  Ran an easy 2.5 miles and then took nice walk with wife and dog.  Leaves looked great and were falling.

Just got done running trains for about an hour, all good NO PILEUPS.

later,

Howdy folks - on the desktop as the wife is running girlscouts on the laptop tonight.  Posted a couple pics on the Sunday thread, but not of the HWX Sad [:(].  OTOH - had a great day!  Went to White Castles for lunch, then to museum of transport (99.9 percent trains) for a couple hours of walking around and took 125 pics!!!  One time me and my best friend Dave (I have 3 best friends - makes things easier on me!  Dave, Jeff and John in no particular order!) were walking along checking out a locomotive they were restoring and we got to the end of this building and turned into the shed and there are these signs, but they are facing away from us.  Hmmm?!  So, Dave walks on the other side, turns and breaks up laughing, waving me over.  Anyway, took a pic and it's worth 1000!

Seems we wandered out of the regular area by accident!

Wife grew up next to a transplanted British couple and they did Guy every year, so kids got equivalent of 2 x 4th of July events!

Doug M - I took these for you (and me too!):

Sir James, I'm not in the mood for icecream tonight. Had a couple tall frosty beverages with my Mexican dinner and just gonna veg out watching Amazing Race I guess.  TTFN!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Evening all.  Ran Big Boy today.  Had to tweek some track at one spot.  The swing out was close to the other track on the right side benchwork.  If running fast, would just touch cars on the outer mainline [not enough to derail them].  Then did some accessories wiring that I had put off.  Get that done and I will start putting tubs under layout.  I can easily move the inner loop and inner mailine in back room and then take out a short section of track on outer loop and will be able to run Big Boy both ways on it.  I can run it one direction on the outer loop now.  Will do that when nothing else to do.  I like running it on the inner loop.  Popcorn time.

Evening all, Yep its "Shock and Awe" here tonight guysWink [;)] Salvo's from all directions.

John B, Hope to have a grand opening of the gamesroom next summer. We are a little way off running trains at the momentSad [:(]. Your welcome to come (as are any other CTT forum members should you be on this side of the pond). Any luck with running the Docksider?

Absolutely shattered tonight, been working on the garage/gamesroom all weekend. Cleared all the rubbish that seams to accumalate with these sort of projects. Levelled the ground outside the garage entrance by filling with hardcore and moved all unused sand and spread over hardcore. Then cleared up inside as plasterer should be along this week.

TopGear tonight on BBC2 8PM, I'll try and catch the Pats game if its on Sky.

Have a good evening

Afternoon all!

Another busy week past. Beautiful weather here. Another sunny day and maybe 80?

Great day today - day before my wife's B-Day. Had a nice dinner out last night. Flowers and cards today - all set to go! Then we have NASCAR and two football games - Cowboys tonight and Pats this afternoon. May have to get a couple of TVs going?

Fife and Laz - watch that polishing now?

Buckeye - hope you get to feeling better.

Chief - also did early church today. The choir my daughter is in sings at the early service. However, the person who plays the new pipe organ seems to forget the organ is supposed to accompany the singing, not overwhelm it.

Doug - I have to make a quick 2 day trip to Schaumburg for meetings Tues and Wed. I do not think I will have any time to drop downtown to say hi unfortunately. Would love to go back to that restaurant for lunch!

Hope things go well for Lisa.

Have a great day all!

Regards, Roy

A quick good morning whilst racing to church. Sunny and cold here. Lots of honey-dos accomplished yesterday. Sorry Jim faced God's wrath with rain and wind because wrong colored Sox won the Series. Jim Baker, I'm reading a book on Guy Fawkes. According to this author, seems he wasn't the instigator of the plot. Broke out the Thomas boxes before hiding him for Xmas. He looks good!

Morning all,

Hope everyone is doing well.  Long day yesterday, went up to Columbus and spent the day shopping.....and no trains.Disapprove [V]  Came home late and just went to bed.  Of course we did get the extra hour so that gives me a little time to catch up here before heading to church.  Laz and Chief, great looking engines!  I hope to check in on SPF later and see some more photos.  Wife is asking what I want for Christmas, not sure what to ask for, but I am sure we can come up with something.

Read where Lisa is busy taking care of others.....a special person indeed!  Pray for her and everyone's needs.  They are doing some more of the movie this week, but I have little in this section.  Next week we do a train scene, so I will have a few days to work on that.  The week after Thanksgiving is the big fire scenes, that will also require a lot of my time.  Anyway, someday I will get to work on the layout again.

Have a great week,
Dennis

Mitch, you have a 2333? Does it have the plated rear steps? How does it run? Good puller?

Jumijo = my big fat fingers can't type.  It should have been 2033 and it is not such a great puller.  It does Ok with the unpowered A unit and the 3 passenger cars  that came with it, but even at full throttle it is not a speed demon.  Which is OK with me, that way it won't go crashing off the track.  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

If this is an early ZW it's probably the contact(s) at the lever.  Mine has the same problem, and needs to be cleaned every few months.

Thanks Kurt.  I'll pull her apart this afternoon and try that.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 34 degrees. Going up to 56 today, with maybe some sunshine later.

Today is a relaxing day. I will run trains later. Good day to stay inside. I want to do some switching of trains on main loops. It's time for a change. I need to put my shelves back up and fill them with trains. I have a lot of cars in boxes.

Nascar race today from Texas. Only a few races left.

Dining Car has arrived early. Breakfast is served. Later.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good morning from New England. Noel has left us and the sky is clear. The winds and rain are gone. A few weeks later and all that would have been snow up to our nipples!

No plans today for a change. Just want to watch the Patriots take on the Colts.

Smell ya later...

Kurt,

0800GMT in smokey Stockport, don't bother much with the Guy Fawkes routine it just seems like a competition to make the most noise to me, so I don't know if they stuff fireworks into the guy or not, didn't when I was young, too dangerous. The whole carry on is about a catholic trying to blow up parliament in order to put the Popes lackeys into power. Must admit I'm glad they failed.

Fireworks

You call it Daylight Saving, we call it Summer Time, started 1915 something to do with getting more out of the workers in the munitions factories and being able to make more bombs to drop on each other.

Do you insert fireworks into 'Guy'?  They do here.  Does this symbolize the gunpowder plot?

I don't understand the time change either.  We have 2 cities that don't follow it.
