Mornin' boys. Humid & 70's here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Calling for T-storms and drizzle all day in York. Hate driving in the rain. Maybe I'll just stay home. AND MAYBE I WON'T! Bunny ears are chambered and safety is off. Horoscope said that "tender feelings would surface today"...That's funny, I wasn't even looking for one...
kpolak - sweetest day...? Never heard of it...
I'm hearing an uneasiness coming from our TRIBE fans on the Forum. Come on, Cleveland, your boys are not going to snatch defeat from the mouth of victory...right...?
MORNING ALL,
Sweetest day is valentines day for adults. you give your favorite girl some candy and hope she rewards you with a kiss.etc.I did not know it was tomorrow though.and It is on the calender.
Yesterdays storms missed us somehow and I'm grateful for that, some were not that lucky
Kurt- you will miss a huge train show on Nov 4, but you have to take care of family. There is another in Jan.,in Troy that has grown real fast in just a few years shot for that one then. Well off to the train store soon, Till tonite,,,,,,,,,Sir James

Fifedog,
This is just one of the designs I have come up with. I'm happy with everything on this one except that it only accepts O31 sized trains. I basically took my old design and stretched it out around a 90 degree corner. I don't have my sidings or scenery on here yet. Really just a rough track plan.
And here is another. I still keep my original layout, but also put in as many big radius loops as I can get in there. I sacrifice space for scenery objects, but I can run some long trains and move them around. I can also run two trains side by side, which I really like to see.
And probably the best of the bunch...so far...

Chief, I heard that the Big boy is scheduled to ship this week (today) and will be at dealers by November. Legacy will ship just after the new year.

Sweetest day definition for Fifedog: While you are at the York show, you see toy trains that make you exclaim Sweeeeet! You purchase it, and mail it to me! That will be a sweet day indeed!
Kurt
Jim,
Try Amazon.com for DVDs etc. I've been amazed at what they can cunjure up, They even found several copies of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam for $18.00 and a copy of JCs Blood Sweat and Tears each of which I have sought for many years. ERNI's still got a frog.
The Great St Trinians Train Robbery has a Southern region DEMU, a Hunslet 0-6-0T Austerity, a Wickham trolley and a Gandy Dancer among the acts.
Just taken a further 3 yr subscription to CTT, am looking at getting a cheap 230/115v transformer and am going to see if the Copper Canyon tank can run, not bothered about sound effects.

Don, is she walking home?

Celebrities are dropping like flies this week. Deborah Kerr and Theresa Brewer also croaked.
Joey's the 'magic' third death then. Whew, we're all safe now.
Nick,
Further to my earlier post; I have found a UK/US transformer at Maplins, it's a fig.VR05 300VA auto-transformer which they assure me is up to the job. I have purchased one and DHL should deliver in a couple of days, total cost £34.99=$70.00. If it works? This could be the answer to all our PS problems (What's betting I've goofed??).
Lovely sunset over Stockport, dry and mild but frost forecast for tonight, may get to Chatsworth tomorrow-The Duke of Devonshires home. Now HE IS a real Sir. I don't like imposters!!! Change your handle James..........?
Afternoon all,
It is beautiful in Southern Ohio.
Just got up after working all night. Taking tonight off because going to Columbus Saturday for class then work night shift Saturday night, talk about messing with your sleep patterns. 13 more months to go till ordination, internship will be less time demanding.
Just ordered the concrete for the garage floor. 14 yards 6 bag mix with fiber, $83 a yd. Man that could buy some nice trains.
Saw on ebay a tipple car set being sold by Stout auctions. We’ll see if I’ve got deep enough pockets to get them, the garage addition has impinged on my train budget.
Jumijo- Kids are like germ incubators
Kurt- Thanks for the Sweetest day reminder, I can use the brownie points.
Wes- Its pop here, but toward Cincinnati it is soda, isn’t something you bake with???
Don- My bride drives her mom to Florida where her mom winters, and the travel schedule is similar, only more bathroom stops!
May God bless
Jim

If you choose not to talk to me that is your choice. I doubt if it would help if I told you I belonged to the forresters...but I do.
Brutus I have Vanilla and butter pecan, belly up to the bar. Oh I was wrong about the price of the BFC it is $319.95 not $329.95
Good evening from Buckeyeland, where last night we were hit was some heavy wind, but our good friends in Indiana and Michigan bore the brunt of some ferousious storms and tornados. Not fun.
Haven't had much time with the trains. Maybe tomorrow. Need to post the photos/videos of the layout with Phase III track in place.
My fishing buddy moved to Alabama. Won't be the same.
Take care,

Evening all. I'm bushed. Almost fell asleep in my dinner tonight. Can't wait to go to bed. But the kids are watching a movie, so I have to wait for it to end.
I worked on Brent's tender shell today. I put the mold on his shell and molded a replacement for the missing area. I'll let it cure for a day or two before handling it. I was going to clean up his vista dome's trucks and wheels tonight, but I'm too tired.
Managed to get a long walk in at lunchtime in the parking garage. I wonder what the guards think when they see me walking past the security camers time after time.
It's pouring out up here. Supposed to rain hard all night and be clear for the weekend.
Kid's birthday party to attend tomorrow...oh, for joy...
Good evening everyone!
Hope this finds everyone well and happy. The whole household has some "Crud" of one sort or another. Trouble with kids in school, they bring everything home. Not much to report regarding trains. I will have some news in a few weeks, but can't divulge yet.
The movie set is fun. Everything is coming together. It is amazing how much work goes into every scene. I have some ideas for making some train related movies, but that will have to wait.
Take care and I will try to catch up later.Dennis

Thanks Sir James! That Butter Pecan really hit the spot! Sorry, but I think I ate a whole quart! ! On the BFOC, just remember - it's not the size of your train, it's what you do with it! Sorry, couldn't resist that one!
Doug M - very sad to hear about Joey. You're right, that's about that, it's the end of an era. My wife has a cd set of a concert they did here in St. Louis back in the day and it's hilarious. It was a benefit thing and a small venue and the boys basically just cut up and have fun through the whole thing.
BTW: I was given a nickname at work a few years ago that I rather liked -- Sir Grantsalot! I kinda like it, but not sure if it was meant to be a compliment
Hope all are having fun at York! Keep us posted on your deals and get togethers folks!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Buckeye Riveter wrote:Chuck, did I tell you that next weekend the big raid is planned into NC?
I knew it was in the planning stages, but did not know the date. Is this a top secret operation ? If so, send me a coded message thru Security lines.
