M-m-m-m-m-my Sharona!  It's stuck in my head too!  Arrrgghghg!  My daughter was fine this morning, thanks!  I'm feeling pretty good too, first time in a week!  I'll never share my water with some kid I don't know again - I felt bad 'cause we were on a fieldtrip and I was there with my daughter and had some other kids assigned to us.  Two kids didn't bring water to drink so I shared Dunce [D)]  Next time I'll just tell them it's too bad their parents don't love them like I love my daughter and let them choke on their lunches Shock [:O]  Just kidding.  Next time I'll take extra bottles and not be so dumb as to drink after them.  I got my copper cars and my caboose hooked up - need to clear some debris off my layout and play with it later.  Off tomorrow, so might get some wiring done.  Also need to pick up some wood for a project with my son.

John Baker - apparently your Channel 4 is going to have a documentary on teh Great Global Warming Swindle - do let us know if it's any good!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Gotta love engineers.  I "discuss" differences of opinion with them on a frequent basis.  Whistling [:-^]  It is interesting when the engineer says the equation says it will do this .  .  . and me with 30 years experience says it will not do this, it will do that, and when the dust settles, experience usually is closer to the fact.

The proper balence in the electronics field is 3 technicians to every engineer, the job of the techs are to fudge component values to "make" the engineers idea work.Big Smile [:D]

Got the other three trees topped, it was beautiful outside today!  Cleaned rails this afternoon.  Wow were they dirty.  Trains runs real well.  I think a good indication of conductivity is watching lighted cars like passenger cars and when the light blink something is amiss.  From another thread I tried something different.  I used a scotchbrite and isopropral alcohol, with a wipe rag.  Worked real good, minimum effort.

There appears to be several folks here who are ministers the like.  Good company.  I am studing to be a Deacon for the Diocese of Columbus.  I've got two years completed and about a year and a half to go before ordination.  The classes are at the Pontifical College Josephinum.  The trains are a great means of relaxing.  After a rough day at work or my brain has maxed out it's ability to absorb any more info, I tell my wife I'm going for a smoke break, and it's to the train room to run trains.  Check back later,

Jim

Good afternoon from a sunny but cold Crystal Lake where I've been battling car and phone ills all day. Car needs a lot of work - but I'll put it off for a week. Phones work now that I replaced them with corded phones. Whoops, gotta go to the dining car before going to church.

Wish I was near Prattville. I think I'd enjoy Dr. John's sermons. Lots of learned folk on this forum.

Now I have My Sharona playing in my head. Thanks a lot.

Hey Dennis, which Seminary did he teach at up here?  There are a couple around, Lexington Theological (Presbyterian), Southern Baptist (Louisville), Vanderbilt (Nashville), and of course my personal favorite Asbury Theological Seminary.  There are probably some other one's that I'm forgetting.

Nice Lisa thanks for sharingBig Smile [:D] That Civil just had a real bad day!

Had one of these sort of moments a few weeks back. Had a phone call from a Hospital where we had installed a 2000Ltr 316 Stainless steel tank. The gist was the tank had sunk into the plant room floor! As a bit of background, when we first looked at the job we asked about the state of the concrete floor (it did not look good, I am a "mechanical" so not a concrete expert). Our Customer asked the question as did the Hospital's own Project engineer.

The reply came back from on high that the floor was fine......I guess the guy who made that call was having a bad daySign - Oops [#oops]

Tank stayed undamaged even though it was at a near 45 degree angle and it was full. It did a great job of showing how tough our tanks are LOL.

Have a good day all

Nick

Morning all.  Spent morning photing PW steamers smoking as I drank coffee.  Going to be a new morning thing if I don't have to rush.  Run trains and drink coffee [usually watch Outdoor Channel and drink coffee].  Not in a hurry to head to Charlotte BPS.  Do not have to be there unitl 5 PM.  Going to water greenhouse and haul the pinestraw back to house.  Then get rental car delivered to me.  Dewey, will call as I get near GBoro.  I know the area some.  Got to go.  Dr. John, good saying.  OH, now we have two ministers on here.Smile [:)]  Have a good one.

I love diving into passage like these, it always seems that when I start out I think, "yeah, I've got this thing covered."  Then when the research is done and I sit back and look, I go; "Holy smokes I didn't know that was all there."  It's always a pleasant surprise to say the least, and my Revelation 20 exegesis was phenomenal, the best part was that as I was researching it I really had to come to some critical decisions myself, which meant that I had to study 3 different interpretations of the passage and critically engage with each, which really added a lot of time and effort to the task.  But it was certainly well worth it!  Not only for the grade, but also for the real discovery that took place.

Ah, the joys of ministry! Nothing like running late for a Bible study or worship service and someone grabbing you in the hallway asking you to explain supralapsarianism. Makes my brain hurt sometimes! Banged Head [banghead]

But all in all I could not see myself doing anything else. Most days its a joy and the days its not, it's usually as much my fault as anyone else. Trains certainly are therapeutic. I think every church should have a layout so the ministers could use them in counseling. E.g. "So your children don't understand you and your dog no longer speaks to you? Let's run some trains and talk about it." Wink [;)] (This said with tongue planted FIRMLY in cheek!)

I agree!  After 10 years of ministry (working through college and now seminary) I have found that I simply "cannot" do anything else, I actually enjoyed the discussion last night, we covered a wide range areas.  He wants to ala carte a bunch of different theological thoughts under the unbrella of Christianity, mostly Eastern religion which makes our discussions pretty interesting to say the least.

After looking at my original post, I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression.  It was supposed to be like this "No trains last night Sad [:(];...................but I did have a nice....."  The frown was to the lack of trains, not the discussion.  Just wanted to clarify.

Chief

If you swing by Greensboro Thursday I will be in Cardio/Pulmonary Rehab from 10:30 until about 2:00p. But call 336-288-2317 when passing GSO to see if I'm home. I live just off North Elm St. on the North side of G'boro. Crosstown Blvds such as Wendover Ave and Cone/Benjamin Blvd intersect N. Elm St as does the old I-40/85 ["Death Valley"] around South G'boro.

Morning all,

Sunny and cool here in Southern Ohio.  I got four trees topped yesterday, three left to do today.  Going to let it warm up a bit before I start.

Buckeye, when in Cincinnati, have you ever been to the Union Terminal Muesum?  It has a nice "S" layout and the building itself is awsome.

My Exegesis paper is on John 2:1-12; the Wedding Feast at Canna.  Previously I had read this passage dozens of times, but when applying critical analysis, it is incredible how much depth is in scripture, when you start going beyond the text.

Grandkids were up last night, ran trains with me and baked a cake with grandma.  I am amazed at how careful they are with the trains.  They like running them slow, and working the accesories.  Next generation of Toy Train lovers is developing.

Take care all

Good Morning All,

I missed posting yesterday...sorry had to get to the office early.  Yesterday was sunny and 62 in the Mile High City.  The Fiance and I went to speak with the catering company we're planning to use for the wedding in July.  I believe in two weeks we'll have the tasting....woohoo.....can't wait for that.

Oh....for all stuck in cold and snowy weather.  Monday is forecasted to hit 70.  WOW  Big Smile [:D] I can't wait.

Today is more of the same at the office.  By the way....I'm an IT Manager for a large software/database company.

I hope everyone has a terrific Thursday.
