Bill,
Thanks for the link!  I actually located a place in Gaithersburg, about 20 minutes from the new house.  I think they will be getting quite a bit of business from me in the Summer...

Good morning everyone,

I'm going to take it really slow here today. For some reason, I feel worse today than any other day that I have been sick. Right now, it's a little cloudy out. I hope that it changes, so I could sit outside in the fresh air.

My grandpop's cancer is further along than we wanted. They did catch it late, but we don't know how far along it is. Thank you guys for keeping him in your prayers, and we still need them.

Oh, by the way, we are getting rid of the DSL lines in our house and we are going to buy the air time card by Verizon so we don't have to plug anything in. It should be great.

Jefelectric I remember a while back you said it would be great if they could come out with a wireless battey charger. Well, a company has made a prototype that can recharge cellphone, iPods, etc. I think it is pretty cool.

Here we go again.  Off to the store.  In the 60's and sunny but calling for cloudy.  I think they revised the forecast.  May not rain first part of the week.  Might get to wet a hook.  Hope all have a great day.  I see some Yanks are going to get some deserved rain. Evil [}:)]  Later.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy, 52 degrees here. Going up to 60 today, with a chance of rain. All the snow has melted and now, we have grass again.

Today, I am taking it easy. Worked a lot yesterday, around the house. I'd like to spend some time outside, with the boys, if it isn't raining. Later, I want to run trains for a few hours. I'm still working on the road plans. Can't decide where I want a highway. Needs more thought.

Dining Car is here early. Almost everyone is sleeping late today. It's time for breakfast. Cute, young waitress today.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Mornin' boys.  Chilly and gray in the Mid-Atlantic today.

88 - I've got some spare 2x4's you're welcome to... Get most of my furniture needs from ValueCity, or 100 year-old hand-me-downs from Aunt Cookie.  At least my home isn't decorated by Mossy Oak...

Just 2 weeks until the gathering!  Gonna have to brush up on the inner workings of battery chargers so that I can keep the conversation lively and interesting.Thumbs Up [tup]

Good evening everyone,

I am still trying to get over this cold that I have. I just finished watching The Departed, and The Marine. Both are great movies, and they will both soon be in my personal DVD collection.

Well, I am really tired. Will check in tomorrow morning.

Chief,
Since you sold too much today, does that mean you get to go home early?  LOL!

Wife drug me out furniture shopping... she found her Living Room furniture and I found my new family room furniture... oversized leather couch, chair, and ottoman... antique brass buttons... sat down, nearly pulled a Chief and fell asleep!  Now I have to either find end tables and a coffee table, or I'm going to be purchasing some wood and building them myself... have to find something that isn't too bid, or too small... that was the problem at the store... so looks like a trip to the lumber store...

Fife, and the Southern PA guys... anyone know of a specialty lumber store?  I need to find some 5/4 mahogany stock, and 2x stock for the legs... too bad its so late in the school year, could have had Laz build 'em for me!  LOL!

Fife,
Sounds good.  Looking forward to it!  OK... I'll order the other B-Unit!

Now Williams does make all powered A-B-A sets if I am not mistaken...

Brent, this is one of the things that made the K-Line set so nice, Two powered A units and some even had a powered B unit.  Between 4 and 6 motors in a lashup.  That is nice.  I have the Lackawanna ABA set and it is sweet!  Has TMCC, Railsounds, lots of extras all for under $400.  I hope but don't expect Lionel to make these under K-Lionel.

Dennis

Dennis,
I have seen 3 K-Line lashups that I really want... E7 B&Os A-B-B-A, F3s C&O (Blue Color Scheme), and B&O F3s.  The C&O set I saw was TMCC, Railsounds, Cruise, ALL 4 units powered... I just stood there wishing I had the extra $325.00 the fella was asking... three weeks later the house was rented, called him, he sold them 30 minutes after I walked away... I could have cryed!  Seems everytime I see a great deal I'm short in the wallet... I've vowed to set aside money each paycheck, that way I hope to never have that problem again!

Then I find out I have to pick up some software for my side business and that is going to eat into the train fund... I need to land a contract or two...

Good evening all, well, I had another great day of Seminary stuff, Hebrew etc.  Some of it was good some seemed kinda pointless.  Oh well, this to shall pass.  I just hope I do. LOL  Anyways, I'm home now with the kids watching the original Grease; believe it or not my 5 year old son really likes it a lot.  No, trains yet, maybe later though.

Weather-wise it was a beautiful day out here, clear with a slight breeze in the 60's, just perfect.

I got the K-Line Kennecott Copper Company MP-15 diesel engine and its a powerful engine both front and rear trucks are powered. I haven't been able to test it with a load yet as don't have a layout but I put it to a test track and it had some real power to it. I also have hershey set with A&B units and the a unit is powered and it has some good power to it also. Most K-Line units I have gotten seemed to be powerful engines.

Heh,I have two of those puppies new in boxes. Don't remember the road names. Bought them & then went with PRR stuff.

sent an n scale engine ( yes I know we do O gauge ) into bachmann on the 17th of Feb called today as haven't heard anything or seen the check cashed yet. well called first off they had to find it and when they did they gave me an order number and said it is process as of 9 march 2007 (I ask oh as of today its processed they said yes) then they said it will take 6 to 8 weeks to be worked on and returned to you . I'm wondering now that I'm off the phone if I didn't call how much longer wood it have been sitting there before they got to it lol.

It's probably a total power issue, more than anything, but since it's a premier set, it should be available in double powered A unit.  Maybe many 100 watt transformers will struggle powering 4 motors at a time at higher speeds.

My 2-8-0 MTH loco with a single motor does a great job pulling up my test incline.  I have a 0 to 6" incline in 10 sections of track (probably around 100 inches), so around 6% incline.  With just the 4 car consist and tender, it doesn't slip or bog down, and is just barely effected with an 8 car consist.  I can only imagine if it had 2 motors, or better yet, two cars with 2 motors!

I figure you are right, but wouldn't the say that it came with one powered A unit, and one non-powered A unit?

Wes,
The way I read it was either 1 motor per A unit or 1 A unit with 2 motors...  I would venture to guess it is 1 A unit with 2 motors.

Pg 107.  I'm confused now if 2 flywheel equipped motors is per A unit, or one powered, and one not.

Wess,
Which Catalog and what page?

The A-A set I purchased contained 1 powered and 1 non-powered unit.  The B-unit is non-powered.  I did see where you can get the motors and boards seperate, so am wondering if it is possible to power the non-powered A unit...

So I was looking through my MTH 2006 catalog (like I do every day), and wondered if both A units have two drive motors when you buy the C&O ABA unit?  Do we really get 4 drive motors?

Also, does anyone have a site of what the horns of each engine sound like?  Or has anyone started a web site of a collection of railsounds of various engines?  I'm pretty sure that many of the sounds are shared by manufacture, but I would like to hear some of the horns in action, and our hobby shop doesn't have a great selection in stock.

Just wondering,

I got to take a good look at the next CTT cover on the opening page....looks great and I can't wait to get it....but around these parts, it will take a few weeks (some kind of northern conspiracy, I think).  I have noticed that they have had no "Sweepstakes" for a few weeks.  What's up?  They have them for MR and Classic trains, etc.

Anyway, look forward to getting the new CTT.

Good morning, all.

It's a beautiful day in Prattville, AL. Sunny and cool this morning, getting into low 70's by afternoon. Got the oil changed in elder daughter's car while she's home for the weekend. Son will be home for his 19th birthday, we'll take him out to eat Sunday after church. He's shown no ill effects after his accidenet last Saturday. Still no word from the adjuster on his Jeep. Most of the adjusters in the state are busy in Enterprise with the aftermath of the tornado.

Picked up a very nice Marx tin Santa Fe tank car off the 'bay. I have several but this one is in like-new condition. Most of my others have scratches and dings, but they all roll on the track just fine.
