I heard they are going to make Rush Hour 3 -- it took them a while, because Chris Tucker wants big $$$. Stayed up too late watching a movie and didn't get to sleep in because my son had a headache, so now I've got one. Maybe I can sneak in a short nap before lunch. When I got up, I had to snake the toilet. Does anybody make a toilet that actually works anymore? RT - ABBA! Mama Mia!

Beautiful day yesterday - sunny and mild - 79. Today is cloudy with scattered showers (ie not enough to make a difference). Temps heading down a bit into the mid-60's.
Glad to see al are doing well. Buckeye's knack is all charged and ready to go!

Enjoyed having you go miles out of your way and stop by although it was a relatively short stay. It is always good to meet someone in person whom you have known only over the airways [and by your hearty appetite for good ole grits and for waging war on General Sherman's Buckeyes].
As I mentioned my Mom was from a family of 12 in Urichsville and she finished high school in Dennison, Ohio. The last of them, my Uncle and the youngest of the 12, passed on in snowy Elyria at 93 two weeks ago. During the mid 1930s and 1940s I visited my Grandmother and attended family reunions many times via the N&W from Madison, N.C. thru Roanoke to Columbus. I have a ton of cousins in Ohio. One Uncle braked for the P & LE RR [Pittsburgh and Lake Erie as I recall]. I still have his red-globe signal lantern.
My layout here in Greensboro, which my wife refers to as "the mess upstairs", has been on hold for over 5 years due to a series of medical events that prevented me from doing much work-----the scenery is desert-like, being only plywood,blue foam and cork[and dirt which Chief kindly didn't mention]. As Chief saw, all of my engines are steam/diesel transition era except for a couple of "modern" Atlas SD-35 diesels. Aside from the Clinchfield Challenger I have always limited myself to two roadnames---the Southern and N&W, mostly '90s engines from MTH, Lionel, 3rd Rail, K-Line, Atlas,Williams and Weaver. Most, including a dozen MTH Proto 1.0, and recently a Williams E-7,have been converted to TMCC/RS 4.0.
The 1992 built, 5 track, twin shelf RR in my wife's 18' high kitchen at our Western N.C. mountain cottage is being disassembled because I am getting too old and lame for stepladder railroading [7' & 9' high shelves] and besides she wants to remodel so we can sell the place in a few years.

Stopped off in Greensboro yesterday PM. Met an outstanding man. Dewey Trogdon. Has a great layout strated. He ran on train and then I talked him to death [who me]. Does he know his wiring and can repair a PW ZW in a heart beat. He also has a module with fire trucks that actually spray down the MTH house on fire. Looks real. Man, has he got a collection of engines and rolling stock. I looked with envy at the design of his layout. His wiring is unbelievable. He knows his "stuff" and Southern RR. Wish we lived closer. [he is probably glad we don't as I burnt his earrs all after noon.] Time just flew by.
Well, got to call the local tiny paper. Seems the reporter wrote an article and said I was pushing for a 5 lane road by a lady's probbperty when actually I am the one leading the Commissioners NOT to build the raod but imporve the exsisting two lane and reeduce the speed limit. Wher the H--- she got that from, no one knows. She does a very poor job of reporting anyway. The Editor and I will have a conference today.

took today off to goto PA but that fell thru so I'm going to get some things done today I normally don't have time for ie haircut, work on train room to get it ready to be a train room lol. all this after take wife grocery shopping which she'll drag her tail till noon to get ready. get her up at 8 and its noon befor we get out of here.
Well lionroar88 I bought that B unit to go with my ABA so now I'll have a ABBA with the 6 passenger cars all in B&O so its going to be sweet when I finally get this room done and I can get a layout started first foor this room though will be shelves to display my trains or as many as I can lol.

It is sunny with temps warming to the 50s today in SE Indiana. I managed to get to class early enough to send a message this morning. I was a little late in sending the dining car to "Points East". Buckeye, when are you heading to Cincy? G'burg is on the way there, but I will be getting home later due to class. I hope everyone has a good day.

It is a sunny 26 degrees. Going up to a warmer 56 today, with sunshine all day. Most of the snow has melted. This is too good to be true.
Today, I have a project in the house to work on. Need to finish it. Then, maybe, I'll have time to run trains for an hour or two. Busy yesterday, all day and didn't get down to train room. I have been trying to figure out the roads, and where to put them. Have to get all the buildings back on the layout and move them around. It's kind of fun.
Dining Car has rolled in. Time for breakfast. No sign of any activity from " points west ". Must be busy or sleeping late.

Not much happening around here these days...House update - sellers have agreed to fix all the problems that were reported on the home inspection... this surprised me because it includes replacing to lower railings on the front porch, and the lower trim and panels on the bay window. That is good news because it is something we won't have to worry about for a few years now!Fife - Monday is no good now, have a Dr appt to get me ears checked. I've had a nuisance ringing in both ears since my Army days (not sure standing next to howitzers firing without hearing protection is such a good idea, and it could have been those Metalica and Rush concerts I attended back in HS/Army). Well the last two weeks I've not been getting any sleep because the ringing has been getting worse (I think I've lost hearing in both ears), and now I can't sleep at night unless I am beyond exhausted.Tuesday and Wednesday are still good though!LOL!! Wife sent a link to the Hotel she is staying in while she is in LA for training... my response... 'Yeah and I won't be there... instead I'll be running trains!!!' I got a phone call about 2 minutes after I sent the email!Brent

The temps the next few days are supposed to be mild. High 40's low 50's. Finally! I think I'll change the oil in my car this weekend.
My Sharona . . . Had a lot of great times in the back seat of my 76 LTD while that song played on the 8-track. I was dating a girl named Sharon at the time. I saw her recently. She didn't age well!

The kids and I hooked up our free HO trains last night and set a train on the tracks. Nothing. So I cleaned the rails with a bright boy and lubed the loco. It started running. Slow at first but each lap got faster and stronger. Eventually got all three units running. An F3, a steamer, and a trolley. I'm going to buy some of the new HO track with plastic roadbed this weekend.
I continued my coal dragging ways last night. Had a 2018 pulling 15 hopper cars. It did it with ease! 12 volts and it was humming right along at a pretty good clip! And it was smoking like the Chief had worked on it!!
Maybe tonight I'll take apart my PE Berk's smoke unit and tune it up.

PS HEY wait a minute. Those 2-beams in the center look like they line up! Just move the other ones over. I'd blame the contractor...The drawings don't look like that. ALL the beams line up on the drawings.
