Dennis,
I was very suprised to see the SUV there. One minute I thought I saw it driving on a road, the next minute I see it driving on the RR tracks. I have been to the area where the SUV was, and there is no access road near the tracks there.

Colin, I have seen something like that before. Then a Conrail fast freight ended the trucks journey.
Watched a great show this morning on RFD. Trains and Locomotives was on the Santa Fe's Super Chief. It was a great show hosted by Michael Gross. They had lots of train footage, but also plenty of interviews by both the former passengers as well as crew and administration. Sure was the days of the "Romance of the Rails".
Did some wiring last night. Have one section of Fastrack that for some reason just doesn't like the solder. I wire brushed it and will try again. Same solder has worked everywhere else on the layout.
John, got that NYC Mack Flatbed with load from Stewart's Hobbies, it is a nice looking truck. I even got it while the wife was away, so she didn't see the $70 price tag.

Good Afternoon everyone,
I just saw the strangest thing. I was coming home from getting some blood work done, and as my mom and I passed under the NS bridge, I looked up and saw a Dodge Dakota on the rails. Not like the car that can be put on rails, I mean one side inside the rails and the other on the outside. The truck has no markings on it, and is just plain white.

Benny Hill seamed to be a bigger hit outside the UK which was sad really. Ever seen the original film "The Italian Job" (not the horrific re-make from a few years back, If they had done a full remake of the opening sequence with a new Lambo I might have said it was ok) Michael Caine and Benny Hill are in it. Classic car fans will love the opening sequence. Lamborghini Mura, twisty road in the Italian alps, Matt Monro on the stereo with the thunder of the V12 in the background......heaven

Standard in all Southern homes. That is in case Yankees come to town. You go down, slip out the back and surround them.
Morning all. Sunny and cool but warming tomorrow and on thru the week. Want to do some garden work before I have to leave Thursday. Got Dermatologist apt this afternoon. Yes, back to see her again. Been the longest we have been without me visiting since the fall.
Got to get outside and on tractor. Later.

For all you folks stuck in the cold weather.....I'm sorry to tell you.....Today will be another beautiful day in the Mile High City. Temps will reach near 60. This is good...the snow is melting and even some of the tulips are starting to poke their heads out of the ground.
Not much else to report right now. I ordered a couple of books yesterday on benchwork and one on scenery. Looking forward to their arrival.
I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday.

Yeah, but why did they dress up in costumes to go out all the time - didn't they want their friends to recognize them?
Good morning from a cold Chicago where Kevin has sent more of his Alaskan air. Fully 15 degrees below 'normal'. Successfully added another lock-on to the main line on the far side of the layout - made a big impact with the voltage drops as you might imagine. I jamed both the wires for each terminal into one of those spade connectors I think they're called and tried to crimp them together. 'Course I have to do something about the wire stretching across everything.
Dr. John, that layout for your dad sounds like a great idea.
Glad Jim A enjoyed his surprise.

Went to bed early last night... was up till 1:30am on Sunday because computer was having issues. Feel much better today. Was talking with the wife last night... seems while I was away Friday she watched one of her shows on HGTV... show was about building secret doors, trap doors, passage ways, and secret rooms, so she has it in her mind that we need a secret door somewhere in the new house... direct quoted conversation:Wife - I want you to build a secret door on the wine cellar in the new house!
Wife - Because it would be cool.
Me - I have no idea how to build something like that.
Wife - You are smart, figure it out. You have until June to come up with something.
Me - WHAT? You are serious? You have to hide the thing so no one knows it is there!
Wife - They are easy to build.
Me - Oh really?
Wife - Yes I saw it on TV
Me - ..........................................................................
Good morning all,
It is sunny and cold with temps in the 30s in SE Indiana. I played indoor soccer last night and I am not too sore this morning. I finished up the bran muffins this morning so the dining car is kind of bare heading to "Points East". Buckeye, you must have mixed emotions this morning as the Purdue women beat OSU for the Big Ten title in basketball last night. Dr. John, glad to hear everybody in your family is ok. My son gets his license possibly this Friday, and then I will really have to worry every time he goes out. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold, sunny 14 degrees. Going up to a cold 24 today. Looks like we will have sun most of the day. That is good.
Today, I have to run some errands, locally. Then, I will have some time for the train room. Need to do a little work on mounting down the Atlas bridge and track. A little work every day adds up. GG1 looks good running the upper loop with pantographs up. Plenty of clearance.
Dining Car is here early. No stops at " points west " yet. Breakfast.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.

glad that worked out.
I may start on a simple garage layout for my 82 year old father. (He lives across the street.) He's in good shape for his age and could use a diversion while he cares for Mom, who has Alzheimers.
You're a good fellow. That's going to be a nice treat for the both of you.
Good morning,
Temp of 15 and wind chill of "0" and windy.
Off to the museum in a few minutes, just stopped in to say hello.
Take care,
HI GIZ,
12 and cold windy and brrrrr!!!! To get to 23, then 2-5 inches tomorrow? Stay tuned?
RTTRAINCOLLECTOR, BILL can't get down to Lancaster on Friday or Saturday got to go to sister-in-laws. We'll have to meet sometime later.
All have a good one.

Good morning from a cold and blustery New England!
The wind chill out there is -30! When is spring going to spring?
No trains last night, but we all went to the pet store and bought more "coal". The boys really enjoy filling the hopper cars. The Williams F3s we have pull those cars like they aren't even there. I swear, I'll bet if I put my Lumina in neutral, those Williams would be able to pull it!
Wifeypoo was home last night and we had dinner at her folk's house. Had a good time. She had a nice surprise waiting for me when we got home.

Dr. John, yours is the second Jeep Wrangler that I have heard about that rolled without any injuries. I am glad your son is okay.
Long drive today, but I am here. Lafayette, IN is a very famous railroad town. The Monon shops were on the north end of the city. The Monon, Wabash and N.Y. Central all served the city. As a child I road the NYC from here to Cincinnati, where we caught the B&O. I have had an attachment to this famous railroad town for over 55 years. It all started when I was born here in 1951. I was born at Home Hospital across from the zoo. (The Chief is going to have a field day, now!) Tomorrow I will look to see if they have put up the plague on the side of the hospital.
The hotel is downtown and the streets have been rolled up. The big news in town is that Toyota will be building Camrays at the Subaru assemble plant. Cat has a big plant here, as well as Alcola. Cat and Subaru have been here around 30 years with very modern robotic plants. I first saw my first robotic machine that ran on a paper tape back in 1969. Of course now they are computer controlled. The ingredients are all here for manufacturing success; education, transportaion, water, electical power, and a work force that has a dirt farmer work ethic. They even have passenger rail service!!!
Speaking of dirt, this is the eastern edge of corn country. The dirt is rich and black.

When I grew up, they told us we had a guardian -- I'd say yours is working overtime!
I may start on a simple garage layout for my 82 year old father. (He lives across the street.) He's in good shape for his age and could use a diversion while he cares for Mom, who has Alzheimers. I'm thinking of a 5x9 layout with two or three independent loops. He likes to see trains run but has no interest in switching. I've got enough Lionel track for at least an O-42 and O-31 loop. Some green paint and a few Plasticville buildings and he should be good to go. He's got a large, two car garage with only one car, so he has plenty of room.

Mitch, hope you're feeling better today.
Doug - I am fine. It's my buddy Dave that is hospitalized. He was sick for several weeks with vomiting and nausea, thought he had a stomach virus. After 3 weeks of vomiting and not getting any better, they put him in the hospital to give him some fluids and they found out his kidneys had quit working. They completed the kidney biopsy today. They hope to have preliminary results by Wednesday. They let him skip dialysis today but will have it tomorrow.
Dr. John - glad that your son and Mom are doing well after their scary events.
csxt30/John - I love the loads you created.
Just me and the dog here tonight...The Mrs. has gone to spend the night at her girlfriend's house and take her to the hospital early tomorrow AM. Her friend is having a cardiac catheterization. She had an EKG at her regular physical in December with no problems. This weekend she was experiencing some chest pain when she was walking over the weekend. At first she thought she had strained a muscle breaking up the ice in her parking lot. They did another ekg today at the Dr.'s office and saw significant changes. Her girlfriend has no history of heart disease and is a pretty fit person who eats healthy and exercises regularly.
Ran trains for a while tonight, no pile ups or problems. Started to get cold so I shut 'em down and came inside to check the forum.

Bill,I passed on it for now. Hi GIZ,
Called MIKE REAGAN from TAS and ordered a EOB drop in board to get my chuff back in the K-line B&A Bershire. He said its not too difficult to do just take your time. Anyone ever put one of these in?
Have a good one. Had to put rocks in my pockets tonite while I took dogs for walk 30-40 MPH winds and temp at 27.
