Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 80s.  I reffed two soccer games and I was tired after that.  Rested af home and then my wife and I went to Frisch's for supper.  After that we went driving around the Honda plant where they finally opened a county road that had been closed for a while.  We stopped in at some friend's house and had a nice visit.  The soccer news was mixed as the US Women defeated England 3-0 (sorry John Bakeer and Nick!) and the high school boys tied 1-1, but "my" soccer girls got pounded 6-0.  Friday night I did housework and went to the YMCA.  Breakfast was the usual fare this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 62 degrees. Going up to 82 with sunshine all day.

Today is an easy day. I have a few things to do around the house and then relax. I might run trains later this afternoon.

Nascar race today from Dover. Not many races left.

Indians lost last night. Need to get better to get to playoffs.

Dining Car is here and it's time for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good morning,

I need to call on your collective memory to find an article in CTT.  I've been trying to locate that two-parter about restoring (repainting etc.) and old classic Lionel Berkshire. Anybody recall what issue that was in?

Also, I had a nice meeting with my fellow committee members from the Northern Flyer Alliance yesterday.  We skecthed out the next 6-8 months of public meetings, legislative contacts,  coordination with Amtrak and research to move the Heratland Flyer expansion agenda forward on 2 year timetable. I got a report on the Okalhoma City legistative, and also the Ponca City meeting held last week. The next meetings will be in Arkansas City and Topeka, Kansas on October 17th and 20th, respectively.

Today is yard work and chores and maybe a few moments set aside for doing grade reduction on an elevated section of the Kansas City Southwest Railroad.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 70's here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Get-caught-up-on-laundry-in-between-turnovers-day here at the fifedog residence.

DOVER was interesting.  Got there in time to catch the end of NBS qualifying, then the sky turned dark, and then the deluge from the sky.  Mrs. fifedog and I snuggled and huddled under the turn 1 bleacher steps...along with 100 of our closest friends, for about 25 minutes.  She was wearing a white shirt, so I had to keep her dryWhistling [:-^], but my backside got damp.  Got myself a new Havoline t-shirt to be semi-dry.  Anywho, rain stopped, track dried in an hour, CUP cars had happy hour, and the NBS race started on time.  13 wreck cautions---WOW!  Denny Hamlin in the #20 was dominant all afternoon.  Look for a JGR team to win today.

Good morning from Buckeyeland, where the citizens have been celebrating the big win over arch rival NU.  It was a classic struggle of two titan college football programs.  BTW, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I would like to sell you.

Tom, congratulations on a great OTTS outing. Yeah!! [yeah] Isn't that steamer from the Ohio Central great?  If I remember correctly, it is an ex-Canadian National loco.  They have a bone yard near Coshocton, (That's Indian for where the big trains die.)  where old tenders and cars can be found.  Do you need any membership certificates?

The Chief is in Louisiana.  Has anybody called the State Police, yet?  Chief is lucky he works at Bass Pro.  I bet he can get all the mosquito repellent in gallon jugs at a discount to keep him safe in the bayou.

Started Phase III of my layout yesterday.  I'm adding about 45 feet more of track.  I think I will now have about a 160 foot mainline for my locos to stretch their legs.

Make sure you check out photo fun.  There are some real good ones posted today!

See ya down the tracks,

Prayers for Joe, Dr. John's mom and dad, Kurt's wife and child, and all others in need.

All is well in Brutaland.  Got the last 2 frames painted early today.  Finally caught up on some sleep too.  Gonna play Medal of Honor with my boy while the paint dries for a while.  Also, trimmed a plastic piece on my old Delta Unisaw for a lady at work.  It is some kind of sorting tray for a drawer and she got it made/cut to width, but forgot about depth!  Took about 1 minute.  Working on plans for new bigger layout.  Still need to finish the last little bit of wiring in the basement and ditto plumbing - kinda stalled for lack of inspiration.

Really like the new issue of CTT and hope they keep the color ads - I might have to buy a few things, I've been on a drought for a while due to that BFOC impulse buy!

Chuck M - I called my buddy the HVAC guy.  He said take the filter off and run fan only for like 3 or 4 hours to completely thaw and dry things out.  Put on a new filter and see if it starts happening again.  If it does, you have a low charge or obstruction somewhere, he thinks, and will need to be serviced.  He doesn't like heat pumps because they are too complicated and too much stuff can go wrong.  OTOH, I think Ohizo is a more temperate climate than St. Louis...?  EG I think it's already like 90+ outside and headed up plus high humidity.

Should be a good day to run the "G", need to give the new smoke unit a good test.

Got most of the halloween cars ready to roll, just need to add a few finishing touches for the halloween run at the museum.

Thanks, Brutus......That's exactly what I tried. There is no obstruction. Clear ducts. I will call in a repairman tomorrow.

Good afternoon from a sunny and warm Crystal Lake where I just got home from working on the church services. Bought the middle boy a new football. Will take the youngest to the park after visiting  here at the pot. Gotta help a buddy move furniture later.  Daughter enjoyed homecoming dance and was home in time for me to take the car to church. Chuck, had that exact thing with the A/C a few years back. Replaced the condenser coils and it worked again. Big job. Big article in the Chicago Tribune on model railroading - kind of bizarre - the focus was on enthusiasts of European prototypes. Sally Jessy Raphael is into model railroading with Markin?!

Installed a motor in my rail zepp. Not working right though Chief graciously tried to help me out. I'll have to take some photos and ask for help.

Prairetype, there's an article index on the Trains.com website for all our magazines - maybe some browsing will refresh your memory - it doesn't come to mind for me - but then again, not much does these days...Smile [:)]

[boy, have I got those Yanks fooled.  I'm not in LA but Dallas TX.  SHHH]

Afternoon.  Been to see the display set up in one of the garages at Texas Motor Speedway.  Loud place in the infield.  Running cars [testing them I guess].  Some famous numbers on them.  Do not have to work until tomorrow at 10 AM.  Goofing off now.  Did ride around the area and saw the UP intermodal yard near here, several of the new tpe of switchers at a cement factory siding.  Lots of engines sitting waiting for traffic so they can proceed.  Called Roy's house but got machine.  Well, sure is wet here in LA. Good afternoon everyone,

Well, it wasn't such a good day here. Some idiot that was on the other soccer team kicked me in the knee, and when I fell my knee gave out. I thought I could get up, but when I did, I fell right back down. So I went to the ER and its nothing really bad, just a kinda serious muscle sprain.

So school will be interesting this week. I hope I can get around quickly and easily.

Hope everyone had a good day and has a good evening.

I ... am ... sore. I ... am ... out of shape. Good thing we don't move often. Ugh. So I helped a friend move all sorts of furniture out of his basement. Bears game tonight - so I can recover. I am musing taking tomorrow off and taking the middle boy over to help them load the trucks. I've also realized the way I made the Rail Zepp, it's too long for 027 curves - I love kitbashing - it worked when I tested it out before cutting metal.. so I am also thinking about cutting the front wheels off and making some sort of "bump" instead on the front out of electrical tape.  But  first I want to get it running smoothly on the straights...

evening folks,  I see the pot visitors are spread out some this evening. I talked to my neighbor this morning and it seems they can't figure out what happened to her, their best guess gall bladder; they told her it can cause different reactions, BUT shes still in the hospital.hmm.

I asked my daughter in law about taking and posting pictures for me and she said ok.Said she could even download a program into this laptop if I wanted. I think I'd rather just have her do it. Could be awhile as she is a sports mother running every which way.

Well the Lions made my choice easy after the first quarter. Take a nap. The Tigers won though and the toledo u rockets won yesterday. so overall it was a good sports weekend. oh ya I read somewhere the Indians won too.

OK fresh coffee is on I'll drop by later.             Sir James
