Good eveing,
Chief, Congratulations, great pictures. Before you buy the little guy a train, you must get him one of these to start him off on the right foot.

Colin, I am glad to hear your Dad is doing better. It sounds like you got yourself a good part time job.
We got 2" of rain since it started last night. Just listened to the local forcast and it sounds like most of the rain is over for us, but we are to get a lot of wind tomorrow. Most of the rain will be East of us. BTW the forcast from Tuesday on looks pretty good for York.
Don, When driving through Maryland from the airport be especially careful and curtious. Some nasty drivers down there.

I've been running some trains with the track cleaning car. Need to get things running in top shape before Don arrives. Usually when someone is here to see the layout everything goes haywire.
The greenhouse is about bursting at the seams. Most years by this time I can set some of the hardier things out to harden up during the day, not this year. Maybe next week.
Doug, Your wife sure picked a bum weekend to go to NYC. She probably had a nice day or so before it started raining so all is not lost unless the planes are not flying tomorrow morning.
Take care,

Good afternoon all!
Sold all 4 cars we took to auction this weekend. The population explosion of old clunkers was becoming a concern. I like it when there's room in the garage to work without walking sideways between vehicles.

Kieth, There's already a flurry of lawsuits as a result of the accident. The K-Line people on the torpedo train are sueing the MTH folks in the Santa Fe cars, who in turn are counter sueing. This makes perfect fodder for another heated discussion on the OGR forum. The layout insurer ( Snake Farm ) has their hands full processing all the whiplash claims. The medical costs in plastic cement alone will be staggering! Luckily, costs should be kept to a minimum since there were no Arttista people injured. Saw that Roy !! I'll bet Chuck missed it, he said he had to go eat !! I think the # 2 & 3 car got knocked out from it !
Thanks, John

Afternoon. Went to Lowes and got green paint, to Walgreens and developed pictures and ended at Harris Teeter for strawberries and whipped cream. Even with the freeze, we are getting strawberries as they survived. Been raining off and on. Got soaked getting from inside od Lowes to car. Couple of tornado warnings. We were lucky as cells passed just north of us and the other passed just east. More rain coming. OH, the mountin is now green and brown. Got to go do pictures so one New England Yank can be happy. Dougsnotagrump and Don B can relax as NS is not taking over California.

Chief, great shots of the grandson. Congratulations to you, Pam and the kids. I am sure he will have lots of trains in the future. You won't spoil him now, will You?
Jerry, I envy you with the Denver Museum that you have there. It is by far the best collection of taxidermy I have ever seen. We were out that way in Byers doing our best to dimminish the Prairy Dog population. Rained one morning and spent the whole day at the museum....could have spent two days there.
It sure was a crazy night. Got real windy for the whole night and remains so now. We are under a tornado watch still. Started to rain and got to the point that I had to bring the dogs into the house at about 1:30am. Don't know how much rain we got, but the rain gauge is 5" and it filled over with plenty left to go. We now have a lake out in the yard that did not used to be there. Had a bunch of tree limbs down and one tree knocked over, but otherwise, little damage.
Church was great! Kirk Cameron from "Growing Pains", and the "Left Behind" series was our speaker. Has a great message. A humble man with a great perspective of life. He was a bit intimidated staying here with tornado warnings and all, especially since we are so close to where the last tornados took out a hospital and a bunch of houses. We also had the "Veggie Tales, Larry and Bob" at the church for the kids.
I better get back to the family, power is going out and before long, I won't be able to keep the computer going. Take care and hope everyone has a safe day and great week.

Well, the Indians won again !! I was having it pretty ruff there for a while !! You think it's easy switching back & fourth between the game & the Race & working on the layout & checking the computer the whole time ? !! Well, at least now I can keep it on the race !! Our #20 is still back a bit !!
Well, hope everyone isn't as busy as me today !!
Still raining here in the Bronx. No wind but lots of puddles. What a GREAT Day to stay inside and "play" with the trains!!
REVISION: Did I say puddles? FLOOD is more like it!....A friend has a basement layout. Called to tell me the water has peaked about two feet below the top of the benchwork. Only good thing as there will be quite a clean-up. Hope you guys made it through OK.
Afternoon all!
NASCAR today. The sun is shining and temps going to 65/70?
Lots to do today to get ready for trip to York Tuesday. Got to mow lawn, etc.
Chief - great photos of the grandson!
Tom - looks like the open house was a success!
Hope all of you have a great day today!
That lucky Carter!!! Being raised in a train home does a body good. Congratulations, Chief! What size of CSX T-Shirt will he be wearing as he runs his blue and yellow layout?
Laz, that's right! You don't see that much water on your mountain golf courses.
It is cold and windy today, but no snow.
Chief, why are you feeding the birds at this time of the year?
Had a good train run on the layout. With the cruise, it is so easy to run three trains at one time on the same track. I have an older Lionel with TMCC that I would like to install a cruise system. I wonder if ERR system can plug into the existing TMCC.
Thanks Marty. Slowly working my way out of flying. Got several more through out the year but not like last year. Work and give it to GWB. No way.
Brent, that server you use to download pictures must be in trouble. Never downloaded all of them.
Big hard rain while at Lowe's buying tree green paint to do mountains. Got soaked. Also costing about $30+ every two weeks to feed [blackoil sunflower, thistle and suet blocks] the birds. They are going on a diet.
Later.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Morning All...wet and cold here too. Thinking about moving my transformers back above the table today. Cleaned the basement a bit last night. More today possibly.

RT, got your Email, Looks like Friday all the GIZ will be at YORK. If you could get away that would be the time.
TOM, nice pics.

Mornin All,
Chief, Congrats on the birth of your grandchild.
Weather in Denver is shaping up to be a grand day. We're looking at some low 70's here in the city with clear sunny skies. We have some rain and cooler temps approaching for tomorrow and tuesday. That's good though....the temps will be above freezing so it means rain versus snow and I'll take that.
I started my second bench yesterday. It's another 16x6. I tired quickly with the screws after stripping a couple of phillips bits. I have some other framing projects coming up around the house and decided to go buy a framing nail gun. This made the rest of the bench framing go together very quickly. While I would have loved spending the $300 towards track or a new locomotive.....I'll greatly benefit from this purchase in future home improvement projects.
I've got one more bench to build. IT will complete the horseshoe shaped bench layout. The last bench will be 6x6.
Well....got to get the day going. Going to finish up watching the F1 Grand Prix, then work in the trainroom for a few hours. Need to do some small "honey-do" projects and get ready for game 3 (Stars/Canucks) later tonight.
Jerry
Carter is really a beautiful baby. Hopefully someday, when everything is right for it! Congradultions Chief and family.
Raining here this morning, 1st rain of the season!!! The season is practically over, goin to be a really bad fire seson this year!!!
Got another wall down on our elevated rail, now to do the section that attaches to the soffet. Going to be tricky I think trying to find studs or wood under stucco. Going to start packing for York, too. Busy day.
Have a great day !!
Don
Good Morning All from NE Ohio
Where we once again have some snow on the ground. Good news is, it shouldn't last long.
Chief - good looking pics of your new Grandson. I do agree with John, CSX all the way!
Chuck - Good thing you are staying home again this weekend.
Here is a pic from yesterdays Open House.
lots of youngsters wanting to have trains!

Not B&O?
Morning all. Suppose to have had big rains early this AM. 1/2 inch so far. Under tornado watch. Sky could crack as feels real warm and windy. No rain right now. Off to Sunday School. Didn't go to early Church as wife restuding her lesson. She teaches the eldery ladies class. They love the "younger view" on things. Lesson is from Revelation. Glad I'm not teaching. Not my favorite book.
Morning All,
Chief Congrats again, great looking kid. Get trains in their blood early! I put a pic of my Grandson over in photo fun but I'm putting it here too while on the topic of grandkids, and getting them into trains
As far as the radon goes, if the house has been closed up for a period of time, the lack of natural air circulation creates abnormal accumulation of radon. Air the place out and retest. The numbers should come down.
John and all, thanks for the encouragement to annex the bedroom with a portal passthrough for layout expansion. I'm going to use it as a plea of justification.
Cool and overcast today, talking snow. I hope it holds off, youngest returning from D.C. to Cincinnatti today.
I went to diecast direct and looked at their vehicles. There are great 1/43's! I was looking for the 1/64 wiener car and could not find it. It may find it's way to the layout if I can find it.
I'll check back in later
God Bless
Jim
Chief! What are you waiting for?!?! Get out of there and go buy that boy a train set! Times a wastin'!!! Seriously, congratulations! He's a fine looking boy.
Time to get with it - staff meeting in five minutes, than first worship service in 30 min. Have a blessed day!
Good morning everyone,
There is a heavy downfall of rain right now, and it is only supposed to get worse. Ugh, I wanted to play soccer today, but I guess thats not gonna happen. I finally started my job yesterday and made $60 in 4 hours. I caddy at a nice country club, so I am pretty happy.
Chief, congrats on the grandson. Treat him well, give him some CSX rolling stock and engines.
Well, I think I might finally post those pictures from York. Maybe a little later.
BTW, my dad is doing good. Hes been home since last Tuesday, and has been on his normal schedule ever since. Thanks for the prayers.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cold 34 degrees. Cloudy. Going up to only 44 today. Chance of more rain. This is getting depressing. Need some sunshine.
Today, is a relaxing day. Worked in train room about 5 hours yesterday. Ran 3 trains and trolley. I think I will spend some time there today. Still working on the town setup. Looking good, so far.
Chief....Nice pictures of Grandson. Buy him a train. You probably thought of that already.
Dining Car is here and ready. Time for breakfast. " Point west " must be sleeping late today. Maybe.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
