Hey Brent, Feel lucky about the tire cost. My lease just run out on a Chrysler Crossfire which I had to put tires on last year. Total cost 4 tires $1145. It had 18" on the front and 19" on the back. Only 2 companies made the back tire. The oil changes, which they wanted done every 5k miles, cost $85. I must of been sleeping when the salesman told me about these costs when I bought the car. LOL Or maybe he didn't tell me.

Mike C, sorry for the wife's loss. Sounds like her Brother and Father were helping out in another country.
RedC, The only change I have is pocket change. Trains ate up all my $$$$.
Layout time. Putting track back on left side. Town meeting with DWQ this afternoon. Have a good one.

Well, just getting ready to go in to work early, after I stop at the cell phone place & try to figure out how to use this new one ! Actualy, I can use the phone but everyone else here wants to know how to take the pictures with it & it has the GPS trip features too. That will be nice for finding the train shows & hobby shops !!
Hope everyone has a nice day !!
Thanks, John

Hello from beautiful Southern Ohio!!!!
Mike- My sympathys to the family and loved ones and I will pray for God to touch each as needed.
Buckeye-Thanks for the tip on Glacier. Wife found a deal on internet where you go and stay at each of the lodges for $99 a night. Too good a deal to pass up. Road to the sun is to close the week after; early this year for maintenance before winter. Really looking forward to the trip. Stuff at work crazy and hopefully will settle down by the time I get back.
Washed car, first time after getting back from the body shop. The repair was a nice job. They left the motor dirty so I spent most of the time washing in the engine compartment. I admit I am OCD when it comes to keeping my vehicles clean. I confess that you could eat off the diesel enginge in my '96 2500 GMC truck, yes I know that is sick
Going to do some training
God bless!
Jim
Mike, my sympathies to your wife and family.
I was at Walmart this afternoon and while checking out, I had my wallet laying on the counter in front of me. A guy walked up and tried to pick up my wallet! I slammed my hand down on it and told him to take a hike. I think he believed I wasn't paying attention. Add to that my normal stupid look and he must have thought I was an easy mark.
Uh oh, the wife's garage door just went up. See you guys later...

Good Afternoon to All,
Mike C,sorry about your family loss, even when they are ill, it's still hard to lose a loved one.
78 right now spent part of the morning getting repair people appointments. I have gotten good response from all except the alarm people (said they are very busy after the storm)this from the company who boosted their alarms were not affected by lightning.they were half right I only lost the zone nearest the strike.
Since we were blessed with all that rain, I spent a couple of hours cutting grass this afternoon, it's green again. Still have to tv shop, not excited about it as to many different ways to go now. I grew up with the tube type and its not easy getting an old person to change their ways.

Mike C: I too share sentiments for you and your family.
Sir James: We bought a 36" Sony HD tube TV a short time arter they came out...plasma was $11k at the time. This thing weighs a ton. (275 lbs) We had a hard time finding a TV cabinet to hold it. More companies make entertainment units for plasma and LCD TVs.

This is for the Chief, who noticed it wasn't in the Sunday Photo Fun thread:
Below is a before and after decal job I just finished. This used to be a blue Conrail car. I used some left over orange paint (#20 orange for you NASCAR fans).
Here is the car after I decalled it with Micro-Mark decals. I bought blank decal film and drew the artwork up in Adobe Illustrator.
I left the car in the glossy finish because I think it looks good that way.
Mike C, Condolences on your family's loss.
Chief, looks like they are keeping you busy in Roseyville. Keeps you out of trouble! Guess you will be running trains again before long.
Jim A, I catch myself doing that on occasion. Never had a problem like you described, but am aware that it can happen. They wouldn't get much cash in my wallet, but the misery of canceling and replacing all the cards would be a major pain.
Take care,
The shed roof is 99% complete... just have to put the ridge shingles on tomorrow and the roof is done. Then it is on to trimming it out and the painting... have to check the weather again, but I hope to have the walls painted by Wednesday...JimA - Never have had that problem, but you handled it better than I would have... guy would have caught a fist in his jaw... especially if it happened after the day I just had... I moved the spare tire to the left rear tonight and put the right rear tire back on... it appears to have solved the problem... will know more tomorrow after my 80mph trip to work, the people here in MD don't slow down for anything other than crabs... and they drive like their running the Sharpie 500 in Bristol!
Mike, condolences to wife and family, prayers have already been lifted up for peace and comfort for the mourning.
I am finally off call. Wasn't too bad, but as usual, totally messed up the plans I had. Did get to joing the heart team for a nice afternoon party. They had the head chef from the country club come and make the meal....even without grits, it was very good. One of our new surgeons who specializes in aortic cases was hosting the party. It was fun all us suposedly "educated" folks acting like youngsters with the inflatable slides, belly flops, and just enjoying the afternoon. Think we need to do that more often.
I won a two part video on the Lionel F3s and how to tell fakes from originals. While I don't have any as of yet, I look forward to adding a set to my collection when I get off train restriction.
In other news, read where the little league team from Japan's bus caught fire on the way to Baltimore Airport. Fortunately, they all got out and are fine, but quite a thing for youngsters to endure, especially after the ending to their series.
Well, that's about all. I hope y'all have a great night and a blessed tomorrow.
Dennis

Can't get close to it, it is guarded by the Roseyville PD and Home Guard. Grits and pork are the most important things in town.

You are again right Honorable Chief. Barney Fife and Goober would never let them get close to the Piggly Wiggly.
Cooler today and my buddy is back from TDY to Virginia. Apparenlty he flew down, got a sinus infection, so drove back. Went through Ohio on the way back. Tonight my wife and kids and I all went to Outback for a nice steak dinner. My son told the waitress that it was our anniversary and she brought us a big Sundae with 4 spoons -
Prayers for your wife's family, Mike and God bless us all.
I sent an email to Dennis and John last Friday, but things have turned worse for my SiL. Her MiL was diagnosed with throat cancer. After the biopsy, she was out of it and somehow they ran a CT scan and found she also had a brain tumor. They removed it - about the size of a pea. After she is stabilized, they will start treatment on the throat. They scanned liver and some other organs, but they are clean. Apparently she is very depressed and has just quit. She's just waiting to die, even though they think they might be able to help. Please keep her and my SiL's family in your thoughts and prayers.
Just read that article in CTT about the 1953 catalog. Very interesting! Wish I had a 685!

With that, good night [John S, I ate all the popcorn].
Jim F: sorry to hear about your SIL's Mil has taken a turn for the worse, but now we'll all just have to start praying overtime.

It seems I may have hit a nerve. Got ANOTHER one of those phone calls from our leader regarding my "behavior", (Ref. Thread entitled "NCDOT buys old station"). The last time this happened we had a "small" disturbance that occured in our geological platform. (True it was a 3.5 in Covina).
So.... Doug (notagrump), I would suggest that you make sure the Garden Train is secure tonight. --Just in case
BTW John (CSXT) and Chuck, Have you gotton the reconnisonce report back from the WEO (wildlife enforcement officers) regarding the PG and DQ invasion yet? Understand they are sugar coating all the grits.
