Good afternoon and happy Father's Day to all. Broke in the new birthday Williams FM Trainmaster yesterday (1 hour continuous forward, 1 in reverse) and it's happily thundering around the layout pulling seven MTH Premier Southern passenger cars without the slightest strain. This engine is truly a beast.

Well Happy Fathers Day all!

Family suprised me with a trip to Waffle House after church this morning. YES! Waffles, GRITS, bacon, hot coffee and family! Smile [:)]

May go see a movie this afternoon and the missus is fixing boiled shrimp for dinner tonight!

Watching some NASCAR right now.

Raining here all morning today. Of course the heaviest rain was on the way and while walking (sprinting) into church.

Zeke - glad to hear the radiator is fixed. Misty - good to see you stop in. I assume Lisa is worn out caring for her husband - hope he is doing OK. Mitch - happy anniversary. Dr. John - good to see your wife will not need the pacemaker! Angel [angel]

Hope everyone has a great day today!

Regards, Roy

Happy Father's Day to all of the Dad's on the board! I hope you all have a great day. The hubby and I are both working but somebody has to do it. We had our day on Thursday, the kids presented him with some tickets to an upcoming LA Angel's game (pretty choice seats!) so he was pretty happy....Everyone have a great day and stay safe!

Happy Fathers Day!

Got about 5 hours of sleep as we were up late getting ready for my wife's trip and then she had to leave for the airport at 7AM.  Got some nice cards, now ready for a nap I hope.  I usually cant sleep during the day, though.  TTFN

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

Happy Father's Day to All.

It is a sunny 60 degrees. Going up to a hot, 90 , today. Maybe a little rain this afternoon.

Today, I am taking it easy. Long ride, yesterday. We had a nice time. Good to get home last night.

I plan to install bridge next week, on layout. I will take pictures of it when completed. Color shows up nice in train room.

Found gas at $2.49 a gallon in Strasburg. Filled up.

Dining Car is here and " points west " must be sleeping late. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Good Evening,

Zeke - You have done us proud!  Keep up the good work!

Jim - You asked about Chris and the Air Horns, honestly I had forgotton about them.  Havn't heard much, but don't seem to see him a lot either.  Asked him, and they are working, he hasn't used them alot I guess.  I sure would have!

Gtetting ready for a Grad party here, on Tuesday night.  So trying to get a surface on the bench work I had started.  And, setting up some display track.  Got that done, but seem to have a problem.

I have a significant amount of old Gargraves Phantom track.  Was primairly used on shelves.  Some engines work OK, others not.  So need to do the normal, improve electrical connections and clean track.  But, with the application of DCS and TMCC does the "black" coating need to be removed?  I suspect so, huh?

What is really strange is the Headlight seems to have burned out on the N&W J Serries.  Kind of surprisies me, I don't hink there is 3 hours running time on that engine.

Considering trying a download of PS2 files, MTH of course sayes it shouldn't be a problem.  But LHS says stay away from it, unless you REALLY have too!  A little aprehensive, will have to see.  also, want to get some photos up on the Photo Fun.

Glad your having a good time Roy!

Too tired to continue, more tomorrow.

Don

Good night all.  The Atlas NS SD40-2 high nose dummy now has smoke.  Put in Lionel smoke unit.  Sure easier than a MTH one.  Roy is working on a forumla for my MHT Conrail dummy and MTH smoke unit.

Dennis, printer problems.  Don Baker is the printer expert on here.  Helped me a lot.  Got to call him and order ink cartridges for my GREAT Epson he got me to buy.  They had a clearance on mine.  Almost stole it as it was so cheap.  Prints out outstanding pictures and that has been good since Carter was born.

Bed time.  Got to get up early tomorrow and go to horse complex in Raleigh.  Frankie is riding Western for the first three events.

GOOOOOOOD Night.

Howdy, got home from a late lunch and trip to Home Depot.  I was thinking of getting a Gorilla ladder for FD, but after looking at it, it wouldn't do what a wanted anyway.  I'll probably use some 2 x 4s and plywood to build a platform for myself, use my regular ladder, and then disassemble the platform and reuse the wood in a future layout.

Thanks guys on the bridge info.  I was just wondering, because it seemed to me you might have a problem if you had two isolated blocks of track with sections of each touching the metal bridge.  Then you run a loco or operating car into one of the sections and would this short the other block if there was a loco or operating car in the other block?  You might cause a neutral loco to jump into reverse or forward, for instance?  What do you think, am I missing something?  I'm a newB on a lot of this stuff, so I'd be interested to hear any thoughts.

Goofed around with RRtracks some more today and I think I'm going for a shallow layout along one wall as this is just a temporary layout for now.  I want to be able to play with my stuff and yet be able to get through the room as usual.  I might consider a 2 tier layout about 33 inches deep - would that allow enough overhang at the back on O31 curves???

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

ARGH! I am not liking my computer these days.  I often have issues with the wireless losing connection/signal, then I got a Epson all in one that can scan my slides, well, it too says that it loses connection with computer and to top it all off, while I was working with it yesterday, I tried to pick the lap top off the table.  It fell to the floor with the back hitting first.  Drove the USB port in and bent the USB connector and reciever.  I can make it work, but will have to have it fixed as other USB connectors will not be able to make it into the mangled mess.  Anyway, once I get that fixed, I will have to get back on the phone to Epson customer service to continue to search for why this doesn't work.  So far it looks like the Driver, but I downloaded the one they suggested and still have the same problems.  Like I said, ARGH!

Hope everyone has a great night and I look forward to seeing the entries for Sunday Photo Fun.

Dennis

Evening all

Mitch- Happy Anaversery, wishing you many more.  Marriage is an earthly example of unconditional love.

Chuck- Thanks for the site.  I'll need to check it out.

Zeke- Good for you to be there for your new friend.

Laz- New rifle sounds great.  Like you that octanal barrel has a special look and feel.

Just finished supper after being in class all day.  Next Saturday is finals.  I have lots of work to do by then.  Already starting and may need to take a vacation day this week to get it all done.  Please keep me in your prayers for a sucessful outcome.

Still beautiful in Southern Ohio, some rain would be nice.  The grass is crunchy.  Well back to the books

Good evening,

Mitch, Happy Anniversary!

No training today.  Jean had to work yesterday as a big project bid went in, so we went shopping today.  Went out for breakfast and then delivered oldest daughters birthday gifts before shopping.  Did some shopping, I mostly walked and looked, she shopped, and then ate lunch at a buffet.  This is not good, tomorrow another Fathers day brunch is scheduled.  I lost 3 pounds last week, probably gain it back this week. Sad [:(]

Take care,

Been a long day.  Didn't sleep well last night and had to drive up to Pine Mountain and back.  I was hoping to get some train time in, but alas, I am going to bed!  Did have a good meal with FIL for Father's Day.  I also bid on some Centry Club engines at my favorite auction.  Got some good news for the Church's next movie, our neighbor is going to let us use his fire engine.  Anyway, Zeke, while your friend may not be on his death bed yet, when they get that old, major injuries like what he suffered are usually followed by continued health problems.  This may indeed be the best time for his kids to re-connect.  I hope he recovers soon and that he is able to sustain a reasonable life.

God Bless,

Dennis

That's a sweet bridge, man.  I have a question - if you use tubular track, will you have to electrically isolate the track from the bridge?

No, Jim, as stated before me, the center rail is already isolated.

And, yes, that is their website. Click on " web store ".

Had a good time at the RR museum today with the train layout for the kid's day event. It was pouring rain as we departed to go to the museum for the setup at 8 am. Luckily it held off until we got setup and then started again. We had everything under two 10x10 popup shelters and we stayed dry. Rain stopped after noon and we had quite a few visitors - los o' little ones and boy do their eyes light up at the trains - full size and O gauge. It was worth the effort.

Hope all had a good day today!

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISE with temps in the 90s again.  Did some tree trimming and ran the 384E this morning with the new gondola in tow.  Going to a HS graduation for one of my cousin's kids this evening.  My wife and I went to see "Knocked Up" last night.  It was a funny movie and it was nice to see a movie that was not a sequel.  Do not take the kids as it is definitely R-rated.  Tomorrow we are going to the F1 race at Indy.  It may be the last one so we are definitely going to enjoy it.

Zeke, I think you handled the situation with your friend's family very well.  If anything, I think you were too pleasant.  I hope all goes well there.

The dining car had lots of bran muffins for "Points East" this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Happy Anniversary Mitch!

Fifedog, I think that you can put Cool Whip on just about Anything and make it better!  Whistling [:-^]

John - too bad you have to work on F-Day, hope you are getting OT for it!

Doug, Ive heard of those Toonerville cartoons, but I've never seen them.  Is there a website with some or anything like that?  I used to love Pogo, but can't find those books anywhere now.  Local library doesn't have any either.

Kids at swim practice so gotta catch up with them in an hour or so for lunch.  Still no word back on a total price on those switches - making me antsy, I guess.  022 PW switches with lamps and plugs.  I have 5 modern Lionel 027 switches (remote), Zeke.  Ditto above, drop the folks off, give your respects and clear out - you dunno any real history here.

Good morning from a sunny and muggy Crystal Lake where I've driven a few times back and forth to church already - picked up the daughter and her boyfriend from an overnight lock-in. Got together with one of my men's groups. We're going through My Utmost for His Highest - kind of deep sometimes.

I just got a neat book for myself for Father's Day - not that I need an excuse - a collection of Fontaine Fox's Toonerville Trolley cartoons. I'm always on the lookout for one of those trolleys in our scale.

Great news from Dr. John

Congratulations, Mitch!!

John, LOL - that diesel must've reminded me of my beloved 520 with those 'torpedo tubes' on top! Amazing what I can 'see' when prompted. I wish it was an electric. ;)

Please no flashing at Ms Edna's, Chief.

Morning.  Cooking little link sausages.  Then cook some eggs. Dinner [dinner]  No grits today.  Off to Miss Edna's for a flash visit [in and out] so I can drop off veggies.  Want to get home and mow grass.  Got a pre-wedding "pg picking" this after noon.  Nana pudding I'm sure.  Cool Whip is OK, fife.  Later.
