Tried Caboose again, got a box with Op Panel in top LHS, under that it says Guest #xxxxxx and some other stuff in a faint box, but no instructions or explanation as to what this thing dos. I suppose there is some kind of sign up as the start page asks for a log-in if a member. You see I've always steered clear of chat rooms because my Granny says there are some very odd people about and I might get molested by a naughty lady?

A very baffled and confused TOG. HMMMM!!

Zeke, You must be psychic' I have joust had a coffee (laced with whisky, strictly medicinal) and a doughnut for my mid morning break. It's 1130 here.

Weather Totty has just told us to expect 100mm rain in next 24 hours.

Just had a phone call from an old flame, more confusion!

Morning to All

Yesterday was a clean-up day at the old office. Almost done.  I have a couple of loose ends that I will attend to on Wednesday. Training this Monday and Tuesday as well as Thursday and Friday this week,  in addition to training on the following Monday and Tuesday.  Then off for Independence Day. Finally get to the real work of the new school on July 5th.

Last night the Mrs. and I went to Texas Roadhouse.  I had some ribs. Yum.

Today will be a honey-do day.

Take care,

Mitch

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a cloudy 62 degrees. Rained last night, a little. Going up to 82 today, with a chance of a shower, later. Hope not.

Today, we are taking it easy. Company left late yesterday. Almost missed the Indians game. We won for a change. I have a few things to do around the house and I will spend some time in the train room, watching the GG1 go over the blue bridge. That is neat.

Nascar race today is a road race. I may tune in later to see how the old # 20 is doing. He needs to win one.

OK, a well stocked Dining car is here and it's time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

2215 HRS- NS 9559,NS 9087,NS 5310, NS 5305 (mixed freight) NEC to PORT

2220 HRS- Amtrak 658 (Acela) northbound NEC

2232 HRS- NS 2717, NS 9901 (TOP GONS) s/b NEC to n/b PORT

2247 HRS- NS 9617,NS 8768 (steel mill freight) s/b PORT to s/b NEC

2313 HRS- Amtrak 939 (Metroliner) northbound NEC

2319 HRS- NS 2776, NS 2750 (stack train) n/b NEC to n/b PORT

HI GIZ,

Went trout fishin last nite and low and behold caught one.  Only one rainbow between me and brother.  We fish from bridge to bridge about a mile and caught a lot of trash fish but only one trout.  Anyway had a fire and ate hogs and burgers on outdoor fireplace.  Oh well was a nice nite anyway.

MARTY, I've been the same with the train running, not much since the nice weather set in.

Read in the paper today that JEFF GORDON got caught cheating?  True?

  All have a good one.

Fife - Wink [;)]Whistling [:-^]

Was gonna paint some outside metal frames, but it's now supposed to rain/storm tonight and actually for the next 2 nights.  Guess Chief finally closed the door after letting out all that drought on us!  Bacon to catch mice - it just might work!  I'll try that the next time we have unwanted company (other than the MiL!).

Well, off to do some quick yard work and then maybe do some work on the basement.  I took it easy on my sprained hand for about the last 4 weeks now I think, so should be able to do some light work, but will avoid hammer for a another couple weeks.

My wife pointed out that I have wordiarrhea or typeritis and just post way too much info.  I think it's because I read the CTT Forum all day but can't post until night, so by then I've got a 100 things to say.  Either that, or I'm a jerk?  You decide 2008!  Laugh [(-D]

The hockey draft party was a big success.  Columbus was a hopping town even without a football game.

Laz, what stream are you doing your trout fishing?

I'm packing up to go chase the Northern Pike in Ontario.  Captain [4:-)] Pike fishing is not for the faint of heart.  A big pike has big sharp teeth and they will clamp down on a finger if you  are not careful.  Laz, you need to go after a lake trout with me sometime.  In early spring we slowly troll a spoon and we catch them about 5' below the surface.  Later on in the summer, they will head to the bottom and in 60-80 feet of water, they are much more difficult to catch.

Friends will be over for supper tonight, so the Garden RR will be fired up and running.  If the track is dry, I might run the Circus Train.  The dry track is needed to get traction enough to pull all the cars.

Called the Chief yesterday while he was cooking his grits for lunch.  Of course my timing was impeccable since his grits became cold and his sweet tea became warm. Laugh [(-D]

Marty, glad to see you out of the truck trailer.

BUCKEYE,

First of all good luck on those northern pike.  I was going to Canada on the ST. LAWERENCE RIVER from 1977-1997 then our guy moved his family to Costa Rica to open another fishing business down there.  We went up another time at a different locale but wasn't the same.  We all missed the guy who was like family to us.  We would fish together, drink, GOLF, have fires, drink, go scuba diving, drink, waterski, tube, and have big fish frys at end o week and more drink.  It was great!  We would go up sometimes twice a year, on Memorial day and CHRISTMAS in August.  Memorial day was always the best when the pike were in the bullrushes on there spawning beds.  Use to come out at a bucktail spinner about 5 sometimes six of em and pow knock the snot out of the spinner.  Biggest one I ever caught was 39 inches and 14 lbs.  Saw some in the 25 lb. range.  We'd also catch walleyesDinner [dinner] and perch Dinner [dinner]Dinner [dinner].Great times.

Trout fishing on the WICONISCO CREEK in northen Dauphin Co.  About 25 miles north of Harrisburg.  The problem is the last time they stocked it was April 2.  The fish commission kinda screwed us here by starting the season the end of March and stocking for the last time April second.  Where last year the whole state sarted April 15 and we got 3 stockings which the last was May 8th.  We in the southcentral part of the state had the season start early but then the rest of the state  came down here took all our fish went back home and had there traditional start two weeks later.  The commission said that there would be fewer stockings but bigger fish.  Yea right.  Caught the same 8-12 inchers just like the previous year.  oh well? DA??

Yes, I'd like to go out fishin for those lakers, we use to go up on Lake Ontario out of Mexico Bay for Brownies, lots o fun.  Plus we'd have a blast talking bout the CHIEFWink [;)].

Have a GREAT TRIP up to CANADA.

Happy June 24 the all!  Long time no post - but have been trying to keep up.  Think I've missed some birthdays and anniversaries - well Happy belateds to all.

Been very busy keeping up my hubby's "neighborhood" sized garden, the yard, house and of course the biggest job - waiting on His Royal HighnessWhistling [:-^].  In 2 weeks, he can start putting some weight on the left leg, back to the Dr in 3 weeks then probably physical therapy.  He also has had gout in his left foot and bursitis in his right shoulder - from the crutches, no doubt.

For all of you with too much rain, could you send some our way?  Please??  The river and ponds around here are low.

Chief - how are the Japanese beetles down your way?  They are pretty bad up here in places but so far, they are not bothering us.

Have a great week everyone!Smile [:)]

Marty, Nice to see you are still with us.  Better check that no rust is forming in the trains. Big Smile [:D]

Buckeye, Congrats on the 32nd Aniversary.

Lisa, Bet it seems a lot longer than its been. Wink [;)]

We went to a Rodeo at my son's church today.  They had quite a crowd  Looked to me like about 3000.  Enjoyed it.  Used to be into horses in a big way but haven't owned any for quite a few years, last rode about 5 years ago.

Good evening all,

It was a cloudy and rainy day in SE Indiana with temps in the 70s/80s.  Watched the IRL race, where a couple of the good guys and gals had decent days (Manning fifth for AJ and Sarah in seventh).  They even got air time after the race.  Had an interesting experience today.  My wife and I were sitting around the house when we heard this little voice crying for Mommy.  We ran outside to see a little kid chasing after a dog.  He was trying to catch his pet dog who had gotten away.  We kept him from chasing the dog into the street and eventually tracked down the dog and returned everybody safe and sound to his home.  His mother and grandmother had been out looking for him so we were glad we could help.

My daughter and her new born son had an experience today.  He started choking on his spit-up and there were some scary moments, but all are ok.  He and she are spending the night at the hospital for observation.  They suspect there may be a flap on the esophagus that is either not there or not closing properly.  For a day that was supposed to be quiet, it was quite unusual.

I did run the 384E last night as the weather was good for that.  The dining car had a load of biscuits and bacon for "Points East" this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good evening to all. Returned from Jellystone campground, Holly Mi. this PM.Our three kids their two sons each and spouses.Lots of food too much sun and YOGI bear stealing picnic baskets. It was  nice to  have them all together in one place at the same time.we do live close to each other but famlies always have different things to do.Everything here that should be green is now almost all brown, it's to early in the summer for it to be this dry but we can't change it can we.They had a gas powered kiddy train at the park and that is the only train I saw since Thur. but it was cute. I'll catch up tomorrow, good nite to all.  Mich. Jim.

Mike C - prayers for your grandson!  Hope all is well now.

Lisa - God bless you too!

Buckeye and RT - Congrats!  Happy anniversaries!

It was supposed to rain so rushed to get the lawn mowed with only a few drops and then the clouds moved on so I trimmed and got my old craftsman electric chainsaw down to the woods to clear out a few short stumps that the guys I hired to clear it out last year left for me to run over.  We were going to go to Steak and Shake for dinner, but the check tires warning light came on.  I checked and one was a little low.  Added air at QT and it got lower?!  Came right home and used my compressor (the pancake one) and it seemed okay, but I thought I could hear air coming out.  Took to Walmart and they checked it finding no leaks.  They checked all the tires and turned off the warning.  If it comes back on, my wife will take it to the dealer.  Tires have only about 26K miles on them, but about 3 years, so maybe time for new tires.  Ended up having a sandwich at Blimpies inside Walmart instead of S&S Sigh [sigh]  I like Blimpies, but S&S is a lot better!

Still working on a new layout plan....  TTFN!
