Happy anniversary, Laz!!! You say you've been happily married for 11 years. How many total?!
I guess we all know what Laz will be doing tonight! Eating crab legs with Pam!
My 10th is coming up in September. I'm buying my wife a Williams GG1. I hope she likes it!

Now we know why Jim has so much time to spend with the Chief and trains.....
Good Morning all, (late morning).
Happy Anniversarry George and Pam...
Chris spent the night at Disneyland, Grad Nite. Most of the evening dancing. The park is open only to local High Schools, they jam as many as 4500 to 5000 kids in. The kids are there from 10pm to 5am. Pretty much a local tradition.
This week has had about 3 Friday nights, I am SOOOOO glad its FRIDAY for real.
Had a real challenge, trying to make my INPROCESS train room look presentable, and of course had to have a demonstration capability. It all went pretty well. My Grand Nephews, 4 and 5, really were interested, and WOW did they have the questions. We ran EVERYTHING ! Great fun!

Yeah, but a Pere Marquette engine just doesn't look right pulling an NYC caboose.

Mornin' boys (well, still feels like it...night shift). Sunny & pleasant here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Lots of posts to get caught up on, YOWZA!
Sir James - I read all the posts (except a certain O27 who looses me after the first chapter ). Trust me, if they still talk to me, they'll talk to you. BTW---don't forget your pic-a-nic basket!!!
cnw1995 - It was the Southern Pacific Heritage unit. Can't imagine we'll ever see those SD70ACe's east of the OHIO. Unless Uncle Pete gobbles up NS...
All this talk about killing varmits sounds like a 6-pack and a bug-light would be a good time in Buckeyeland.
Afternoon. Busy morning. Went out to water [high temps and low humidity sucked up the .2 inches of rain fast] and ended up spraying an invasion of little Japanese critters. They were eating up the world since last night. They are sick now.
Jim F, heat up a little bacon with a flame, stick it on a mouse trap and watch.
Brant, some folks comments I ignore.
No on takes Jim A for serious. Really, my trip to New England was to get him out of the "nut house". His wife would not get him out. Felt sorry for him so I flew up and signed him out. If he does not behave, I will revoke my signature.
Wife leaving for beach. Bad thing is I have to teach her Sunday School class. The eldery ladies. Will get some train things done though.
Lunch time.

Nope. Tought Men's class for years before I retired and started traveling. I'm pretty good on Biblical History. Something I love. Love watching the History Channel when they feature that. Tought a Sunday School class one morning at a retirement home. It was on Jacob [Israel]. Called him a lier, cheat and a scoundrel. Then said he was forgiven and became one of the Lord's best beloved and father of God's chosen people. Afterwards, lady came by and said, "New twist on Jacob. Never heard it told like that." My reply was, " The truth. Shows even the worse can be forgiven and great with the Lord."

Think you both have made it.

Fife, all those Heritage schemes seem to come through Chicago sometime. Sorry I missed it. Just yesterday I saw a ratty patched SP unit run light through Crystal Lake - not too many of them out here - there was a beautiful orange and black GP20 in the CL yard a year ago to run the local switch job. Lots of Armour yellow and grey these days

Good Afternoon all, I feel like I was holding a bomb that went off Sometimes, my brain and body for that matter, just don't want to function. Bad headache and my eyes hurt. Maybe I can become a WalMart greeter!
Laz, Happy Anniversary! My bride and I have ours in September. One of my friends told me when we first got married to celebrate our honeymoon, take the week off, go somewhere alone..... Anyway, we moved to an area where we have no family around and with little kids, don't want to leave them, so we take the kids on our "honeymoon celebration" and it is, shall we say, a bit less exciting. But when the kids get old enough, C-YA! , Mommy and Daddy will be home...sometime!
Got some good news, a hobby shop is opening about 1/2 hour away from me. I will still use my favorite shop in NJ, but sometimes, it is great to have a place to visit and look.....buy.
Hope everyone has a good day, and weekend.

Happy Anniversary Laz !! And many more !!
Nice day at work today & the electrician came to replace bulbs in the one yard light in front of our shop. This is one of those hundred foot high ones with a cluster of 8 big lights just like the ones on Freeways. While it was down, we mounted a flag to the cluster & put her up there & boy, does it look nice way up there blowing in the wind !! Got to get a picture now !!
Well, it looks like Dennis will never get off his restriction now with a hobby shop opening near him !!
Hope everyone has a nice weekend !!
Thanks, John

Thanks Mitch, BTW, if you have RFD-TV, tomorrow a program called Trains and Locomotives. This episode is on WMRR and goes from the big steamers to the diesels. It is on at 0900 EST.
Finally got home, a little scare when the caller ID showed the hospital, but it is a case that can wait till Monday. SWMBO is making her list for when I am home alone this coming week. Kicker is that our son is having his 5th birthday party next Saturday, so I will be in charge of all the leg work, cake, getting carpets cleaned, etc.
Got another train in from UPS today. This is a classic locomotive, called the Puff Puff Loco. They don't make them like this anymore. Wife actually loves it. For those not informed on these gems, they are the noisy things that whistle and light and bump into the walls and turn around. They are great! Especially when you give them as presents to kids who's parents have given your kids such things as "spin art" and drum sets.
Take care,Dennis

hello all, was an interesting day so far. I went to antique shops looking for train signs and memoribillia, and was very surprised. I went to one found a rr crossing pole with flashing lights for 50 bucks, works on 110. i am gonna buy it.i couldnt get it today as i was driving the convertible. Stopped at another and was bombarded with ho train stuff. they had a table with a 20 x 20 filled with ho stuff included two working lines. Dont konow alot about ho but they had a rivvarossi 4-8-8-4 sitting there. almost bought it. was nip for 125. but id rather blow money on o gauge. he did have some lionel o and af stuff as well as marx but he wanted a little too much i think.
but he has a 224e and a 2026 with tenders no whistles for 75 for the pair, think i will pick them up tomoroow.they are in really good shape. I thought the price was fair but didnt have that much cash and he was closing...i picked up a bad vibe from this shop though so i may not go back....does any one else no what i mean?
well im bbq ing ribs tonight so catch you all later
catch you in the chat room
Good evening,
It was a busy day babysitting. The older granddaughters had a good time at Lake Tobias. Of course when they got back it was like listening to stereo as they both had to tell me all about it, at the same time.
Laz, Congratulations on the 11th. Hope you have many more.
Take care,
