Evening all.  Rained again.  Missed the storms as they went around this hill.  Some had hail, wind and lightning.  They got inches of rain.  We got a good slow .4" and still raining lightly.

Welcome T1.  Certain Yankees you ignore. Wink [;)]

Got to see the Black Dahlia tonight.  Its on again.  Too busy typing to change the channel.

Maybe some trains tomorrow morning.  Got new taskforce on animal control [County thing] at 2PM and meeting with Wake County Schools [three Rolesville things] at 4PM.  Hey, Friday, I may go get my Soundboard.  Took Ranger to dealer to have carbs rebuilt and then went to Kerr Lake [Buggs Island to the VA gang].  Storm chased us home and then suddenly turned and missed Rolesville.

Have a good night. [ate popcorn earlier with movie]

John, thanks for the info.  Popcorn is cancelled tonight, instead we have a weird combination of snacks available: baked lay potato chips and M&Ms!?  The baked lays are really salty and the chocolate -  Dinner [dinner]

I feel very sorry for the Farmer and the Truck Driver right now - two people held hostage by these fuel prices.  Sad [:(]

What did you expect from him? At least you were kind enough not to use the real letters.

You know I'm not even going to give that subject any more thought it just takes away from the good times.

Now for the good time my daughter and I finally made the trolley line operational tonight after 7 months. I even put some of those lighted / sound crossing warning signs. They looked too cool to pass up. We are ready to get the rest of the fields in place on the farm, too bad there isn’t a good alternative to modeling corn.

Feeding a thirsty tractor all day has got to hurt. Hope the rain helped. we sure can't get any. I was waiting for the chief to do #8000 but he missed it.

Gas prices? Did you ever stop to think how much fuel a tractor can use in a day? And guess what I still get the same prices for the food that is produced.

At least it appears it is going to be a cool night after some nice rain so that is good.

High gas prices stink whether it's the oil companies or your government taxing you until you can't take a trip or have to cut down on trains so you can go to work.... Angry [:(!]

Nothing much going on here today, just stopped to read up on everybody, say thanks for the updates: hope to see you back soon RT, Looking good Nick, John Baker's been quiet lately, and Chief for Mayor!?  Glad to hear Mrs. Blueberry is doing better, hope she continues well.  Good ones Roy - including that email ;)  Brent, I think I have a WOOD magazine with a plan for your entertainment center - if you want, I'll look around for it and scan some pages....  The plans are probably on their website, just FYI.

Nick,

I know it could be worse, and I'm sure it probably will be. We are not use to it and trying to budget travel on a pension makes a vacation expensive. I'm not claiming poverty here it just makes a difference in spending money. Of course all travel prices are higher now.

Those prices are per litre! Just cost me £62 to fill the van up today with diesel. That's around $124.

Good point, Chuck.  I believe it is the State's Official Rubber Bass Statue used for all promotional photos for fishing in NC.  I'm very happy to know that you didn't fall for the Chief's ruse.  Whistling [:-^]

Speaking of the Chief, if he wins the election and becomes the Mayor of Roseyville, there should be a huge party.  I believe all of us on the pot will be invited to this prestigious ceremony and hog roast.  The only problem that I foresee is traveling over the pot-holed, dirt roads to Roseyville, but then I assume you can Rent-Wreck at the airport.  Would it be in bad taste to attend the inauguration in a fancier car than the Mayor Elects' car? Confused [%-)]

Deal of the Day....Free refridgerator for the garage from my neighbor.  Now there can be icy colds again as we sit on the deck and watch the trains. Thumbs Up [tup]

It is cool under the bridge today.

I haven't seen any vacation photos from anyone this year showing off their train rides.  Everybody must be staying home due to the $3.20 gas. Sad [:(]

See ya down the tracks.

LOL!

If we ever make our trip down to Alabama to see Susan's family we may have to make a stop in NC to visit the Chief!  Susan was making Indian sounds last night when I was on the phone with the Roseyville Rascal... don't think he heard her! Wink [;)]

As for vacations... haven't ventured out on ours yet... Arizona the last week of September... we aren't going close enough to the Grand Canyon to take the trainride... Sad [:(]

Didn't know you lived under a bridge... does that make you a troll?  From your pics it doesn't appear that you have enough hair to be a troll though... hmmm... Confused [%-)]

LOCAL RESIDENT FISHING FOR VOTES

One of our esteemed residents has initiated his campaign for local Magistrate.  He announced that a comprehensive work program was being developed for local youth.  Apparently, as reported by neighbors he has beeen seen cleaning fish while he has hired young persons for repainting his campaign headquarters.  It is also alleged that his campaign promises early crop tomatoes for all.  Upon interviewing said individual he stated that his platform will be based solely on a back to the basics approach.  GRITS for everyone - Morning, Noon, and Night.   (Selected individuals may substitue popcorn).  Early reports have indicated that he may be unoppossed in the upcoming election.  Early polls have suggested that all 3 voters will be voting.

Isn't this where they flush the toilets to vote and see how far the water level in the city water tank (opps - the barrel on stilts) drops for each CANdidate?

Good morning from a sunny and pleasant Crystal Lake where the bride convinced me to stay home today to go to the eye doc - one of the 'ol orbs doesn't seem to be working right. So I go in at 2 pm.  Wish me luck.

Welcome T-1!!Sign - Welcome [#welcome]

Lots to comment on around the table - don't know where to begin so I'll stay quiet and take another sip of joe.

Brent, instead of Dennis' excellent suggestion about the dimmers, I put in a few LED night lights. They worked too.

Gave my latest CTT to a friendly conductor on my late night ride home. I guess that's known as pass-along readership.

Renovo PRR, I would definately keep the TMCC.  More manufacturers make TMCC controlled engines and you will certainly find one that really "floats your boat" and then you would have to add DCS to it to make it work.  Many of the folks here have both and seem to like it.  Personally, I have TMCC, but have wired the layout to just add DCS if and when the time comes.

Reading, Sorry, don't know, live chats are not my thing.  Thoughts get too scattered and I have enough of that at work.  When I am relaxing with the hobby, I want to take it easy.

Chief, good luck in getting the painting done.  I have a few projects to get to also.  The trim needs painting, but the peak is about 32 feet up, so I may contract it out.  I certainly can climb the ladders and do the work, but is it really worth it?  I also have some trim to repair on the columns out front.

Kids are playing with the Lego train set.  They really have a lot of fun with it and they also seem to have a lot of fun with the Lionels, so perhaps the whole family really will be involved in the hobby.  Guess it isn't only for Dad anymore.

Dennis
