Thanks everyone! It cheers a fellow up to get a bunch of Happy Birthdays first thing in the morning! I get onto CTT the moment I have my first cuppa of the day, the only time I get any peace. I'd have done the same for you if I knew when your bdays were!

Zeke,

I was starting to think that I was the only person still awake.  I've been surfing the net while listening to Cass Elliot's "Make Your Own Kind of Music", I just figured I'd listen to it one time; that was 3 hours ago.  See you tomorrow.

Don - missed your post earlier- Welcome back!

Buckeye - if we tied 3 of the bass we caught nose to tail - it would equal one of your walleye's (in length - not weight). The drought and heat in Tenn has taken a toll on fishing this year.

Hey, the "Police" deleted my post when I quoted the guy and said the Feds might be interested in this threat.  They deleted his threat.  Did they pull his posting previlages?  What's up with those folks.  Yes John, his mouth got him in trouble again.  His comment reads real simple but him and that guy have been at odds for a while.  Guy got mad at him and made comments.  Then pretended to have his girlfriend post [we've seen that before] and say he took a hammer to several thousand $$$$ worth of trains. Laugh [(-D]  Guy ran off his mouth about being Italian [I guess he thinks he is Tony] and then went at it saying a man with a family should be careful and it got worse.

So much for that.  Watching Mr. Baseball with Tom Selleck.  Love that movie.

Popcorn time.

Happy Birthday Thor!! Happy B-Day [bday] Wishing you many more wonderful years.

And now some news from Canada.

That is Walleye on that stringer with a few Smallmouth.   The morning we caught these fish we awoke to a temperature of 38 degrees.  Notice the coats even though it was very sunny day.  If one of the Chief's chargers had been on board, we undoubtedly would have caught more fish. Laugh [(-D]

We caught our limits and had fish for breakfast everyday.  You are only allowed to have four walleye in your possession and the Ministry is very strict, especially with Yankees. (Gee, if the Chief went north, he would be considered a Yankee, too.)

While I was gone, I want to thank Chuck for keeping the Chief in line.  It is a hard job, but the pay is great.   Check is in the mail, Chuck.

Speaking of rain, we were pounded with hard rains up north and the weather was real cool.  My favorite time of the year in the North is when you can see the Northern Lights.  It is truly impressive.

Jim A. great looking Pacific.  Bow [bow]

Does anyone know of a special Baldwin 6000 exhibit in Philly?

Jim, that is a nice BM you made there.  You say it is a Constitution, is that a daily constitution BM?Wink [;)]  Anyway, meeting with the commissioner went well, I may be on a committee, vote is tomorrow.  On the way home, HEAVY Thunderstorm.  Hail, rain, wind.  Trees were down, had some on my land down (one took a deer feeder with it).  Also had lots of flowing water across the property.  It was above my ankles in the driveway.  Then, had to change and go out for  a meeting/dinner.  Nice gal with some good information.  We pride ourselves on having the best equipment and giving the best operation anywhere, but some of what this rep had could be a benefit to our patients.  Just have to get FDA approval.

Hope everyone has a good night.  Tomorrow looks like a long day for me, so I may not get to check in.

Take care,

Dennis

Great job Jim A!  Looks excellent!  Got the new motor from Jeff Kane today (traintender guy) with the screws already in it.  Storms came through and now I have a headache, though.  Maybe later or tomorrow night.

Evening all

Jim-beautiful job on the loco

Don-Interesting that some folks think that a train is old it is worth a lot of money.  I do the same as you did, point them to ebay or show them a Greenburg price book.

Got pretty warm today. Close to 100.  Continued cleaning up and preping for the garage addition.  If the backhoe guy does not show up soon I'll  have the site prep done.  Not sure if that is a good thing or not.

Good luck with the job hunting.  Going to clean up and mess with trains!

May God bless

Jim

Good Evening all!  Made it through the first day back to work.  What a day!  Got pretty much all caught up though.

Even had a cousin call me, (us California folk don't keep in contact with relations for some reason), anyway hadn't talked to him in 15 years.  He wanted value information on trains he had, and wanted to sell.  Apparently, he was somewhat disappointed in that a guy offered him $85 for a Marx 666, and he thought that was an insult.  He figured it had to be around 600 or 700.  So I just sent him to ebay.  Didn't want to get involved, he would think I was trying to steal 'em or something.

Boy this thread has everything, politics, trains, voyerism, travel, drama, comedy.  Sure is addictive.  Never know what topics are going to come up.

Going to go unpack so good to hear everyone is ok.  Good luck with the job hunting guys, don't get down.  It'll work out.

I need to get back to work again. I went to my favorite LHS in Homer City, PA. I bought the MTH Canada 6 Car 100 ton Hopper Car set. Then the CN 100 ton Hopper, B&O RS 1 and my daughter wanted the Katy set. She ended up with a Kathy hopper.

So I just about have my Candian National line done. Just waiting on another diesel that comes out in November.

I got the pleasure of taking my 11 year old to the doctors today goes with the no job thing. We spent 2 1/2 hours there because they were backed up. The doctor said she needs her shots updated so I said ok. My wife said didn't I know better than to space them out since she got all 5 today. The mom thing is new so I said I thought I was doing good since I remembered to take her.

Well tomorrow I think I will sleep in then go take some train photographs with my daughter. I think the rest of July is going to be fun if I can stay away from the train stores.

Hey, I finally took a few quick pics of that K-Line Pacific I repainted and turned into a B&M. This particular steamer (3713) was built in 1934 and given the name Constitution by a child in a contest. In retirement it sat for years in front of Boston's Museum of Science before heading to Steamtown in PA where it is currently being restored.

I used Krylon Semi Flat Black, made my own B&M decals, and used dry transfers for the cab numbers. I finished the tender off with a real coal load.

Jim

P.S. Whatcha working on, John? I have a top secret clearance, so you can tell me! Wink [;)]
