Jim, well, a thanksConfused [%-)] I guess.  Anyway, it is all just a part of getting old.  Stem the tide of the downward slope.  I have been getting headaches and hopefully we can end them.  I do wish Doug good luck and healing.

Blueberry, I saw Fats about 15-16 years ago down in Florida.  They have  a thing called "Sun Fest" in the Palm beach area.  He was a lot of fun, great entertainer.

Picked up a car and dropped off my truck for servicing and I hear this loud horn/whistle.  It was an older NS engine going down the road on a section of track that is right in the middle of the road.  It was kinda neat, but the traffic was heavy and I am sure it ticked a lot of others off.  The train was moving slow, so it was a nice show for me.  I will have to snap some photos some time as it is getting rare for the road/rail traffic these days.

God bless,

dennis

"live free or Dy harder".  Great action flick and Bruce did say "YIPPEE KIYAA @#$%^& @!#$%$ ! at the end of the movie.

Laz - I saw that movie last night too! I thought it was very good, lots of action and good comedy. I liked the beggining of the movie; the first scene with Bruce and his daughter. He's on the phone and they say "What are you doing at Rutgers?!" Was cool they mentioned my school in a movie!

I have an damaged aluminum wheel and some other things I have been meaning to recycle and see what I could get. Your post may have just swayed me. wow @ $40 for stuff taking up space.

Chuck - Do you have a blueberry farm? My Father is trying to get into Blueberrys.

Well, been a busy morning, but not for work, that I do later with a heart this evening.  Had a Dr's. appt this morning.  Scheduled for sleep study, Stress test, X-rays of head and neck, and bloodwork.  I think if I was a horse they would shoot me.  Won't get into it for fear of looking like someone else.  Anyway, wife and kids went to FIL's house.  I am on call, so I hope to get home in time to take on some layout work.

Hope y'all have a good day,
Dennis

Morning all.  Renovo, new peas are good.  Do not plant any as wife will not shell and I'm too lazy.  Use to plant a lot of them at FIL's [more room] but deer ate them before we did.  Good red potatoes boiled with fresh cabbage or snaps [green beans to the Yanks] are great.  Sun is out and things look fresher with the rain.  Got meetings at 2 PM and then 4 PM and then one after that.  Jimbo, have a great vacation and bring home "brown berries". Wink [;)] Hope all have a great day and God bless all.

First of all there are too many Johns. I keep thinking people are referring to me. Banged Head [banghead]

I have no big plans for today except for a little track work, though my daughter does want to work on some of the layout landscaping.

The rain yesterday was great and today is starting off great. it is cool and will only get up to 75. I do have one large job to get done the peas are ready to be picked. I love fresh peas and I planted over 5 pounds of them. The wife reminded me to start picking the apples for applesauce too. I guess I will surprise her and dig up some young, small potatoes too.

Have a great day - john.

A good morning to all.  No big news except the NMRA train show in Detroit at the end of this month. I looked at the dealer list and its mostly mfg's booths, going anyway. Three reps from MTH are suppose to be at a local train store on the 27th but I do not plan to go there as I might open my big mouth about there poor quality control. I like the looks of their engines but..enough said.  Did anyone notice that BP shut down a refinery for maint. in the middle of the vacation season driving up gas prices, and no explanation given as to why they did it now.Our goverment is telling us to just bend over and drop em.

WOW 3 pages since I posted, quite CHATTY here?  Took beer cans and scrap metal into the junk yard and got $40 bucks yesterday.  Cans are bringing in 65 cents a lb.  copper is at $2.33 and Brass #2 at $1.50 a lb.  Not bad for lying around junk.  Oh well gave half to the wife and went to see the movie"live free or Dy harder".  Great action flick and Bruce did say "YIPPEE KIYAA @#$%^& @!#$%$ ! at the end of the movie.  Then went to buffet and had wings, stomboli and pitza, and still have $3 bucks left.  So all and  all a nice free day of entertainment.

DON LOL of the post with DA CHIEF!

  BUCKEYE AND BRENT LOL.

RT good luck in the move.

Good morning all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the low 80s and low humidity.  Last night was a great night for a soccer game and for forty minutes we played great as well.  Unfortunately the game lasted 50 minutes and we lost 2-1.  What made it bad was one of my daughters was there with her son, my dad was there, my wife was there and so was my Norwegian soccer friend.  After the game we all went out to Fazzoli's except for my dad, who had already had supper.  A good time was had by all.  In other soccer news, Norway vs USA Saturday night on ESPN2.  I practice with the high school kids tonight.

I am glad to hear Chuck's wife is doing better.  Chief, good luck with your campaign.  I see where the dining car has already been to "Points East".  RT, good luck with the job hunting.  I have "discovered" YouTube recently.  Fascinating stuff.  I enjoy music videos and there seem to be a lot on there.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Been busy here at work this week. First catching up after my jury duty, now working hard before I head out on vacation. I'll be gone for a few weeks, so until I get back, all be safe and well.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a beautiful Ohio morning. Sunny and 62 degrees. Going up to 84 today with lots of sunshine.

Today, I am going to do a few chores around the house and take it easy this afternoon. Wife is doing good. A little pain, but it is slowly fading. She appreciates everyone's good wishes.

Gas prices have started to go up again. Over 3 dollars a gallon. Can't go anywhere, except to shop and doctor. No one is in control.  This country needs some strong leadership, for the people's sake.

Well, Dining car is here and ready for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Morning to All.

Just brewed a fresh pot.  Not much train action to report, although I did find a "junk store" that had a roll of brass chain that will look good on some load for 66 cents, also found some miniature hay bales that will make a load for a pick up truck for the same price.  Last of the big time spenders.  Might have to paint the chain silver or black for some variety. I wonder if anyone ever ships large rectangular or round bales of hay via rail?

Take care,

Mitch

Morning all

Chuck- Glad wife doing better

RT-keep in touch

Jim-There is a trail mix that combines nuts m&m's and raisins it's good

Nice morning, opened windows and turned on the fan, a cool 64 inside, we'll close up before work and the a/c will not be running today!

Fixed the solinoid on the crossing bell, ran and lubed trains last night.  After lubbing the Franklin loco and coaches dropped 4 amps!  Amazing, and they were not "bad" in the first place.

Got my grades from last quarter.  A in Sacramental Theology and B in Christology!  Great classes, but tough!

 Got to go

You know I'm not even going to give that subject any more thought it just takes away from the good times.

Now for the good time my daughter and I finally made the trolley line operational tonight after 7 months. I even put some of those lighted / sound crossing warning signs. They looked too cool to pass up. We are ready to get the rest of the fields in place on the farm, too bad there isn’t a good alternative to modeling corn.

Well put.  Great videos you linked on the intermodal thread.

I believe this poster in question might have been shafted. Now I understand that he has made some horrific mistakes on other sites. While unfair to those he messed with, he really has done no wrong on this site. People are questioning his service to the military. All I can say is he talks the talk, somewhat. If he continues on this path he will get into some serious trouble.

I am mad at him, don't get me wrong. When he was in the hospital a great many of us offered our condolences in many ways. I called the folks back home and asked for their prayer requests. Then I found out about his RC scam. Yah, I was very angry, but is not for me to make judgements. I don't even know if he was in the hospital. But the fact remains that that's his "integrity" that is in question. I quoted integrity as he quoted the Army values and integrity in is post to the paratrooper website.

What I am getting at in a round about way is, this is a site to talk trains. He never breached that. We don't really have an official buy/sell section (that I know about) and yes, informally sometimes we contact each other about buying or selling. Buyer Beware all the time when purchasing over the internet. Every time you buy you run that risk. I understand the person in question would be a BIG risk to buy from, so I wouldn't. How do I know John Doe would be a good person to buy from? I don't.

This guy needs to learn to own up and not lie. But I don't think he should be exiled from talking trains. Who knows, mabey he would come around, mabey not. We all have skelitons in our closet.

Might be more to this than you are aware off [and I am not going to get into].  Trust the CTT staff.

Just grab some M&M's, John, you're like family now!  We keep getting missed by the rain - either rains up in St. Louis or down in Pevely.  They had straight line winds 2 days ago that pushed my friend's stuff off his patio and broke the welded frame for his hammock!

My wife is watching Ninja Warrior.  I'm on the laptop.  I was watching an old Lucio Fulci movie, which was pretty weird (horror flick from like 1973).

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
