Jaabat,
I asked the Indians closest to the West Palm Beach and Miami areas, anyway they say that a rain dance performed outside of a local area by more than 150 miles doesn't affect the intended area, also need to have medicine man from local Florida tribe. Cheif down here say you smoke too much on piece pipe and watch too much Hollywood movies!!!!
Not gonna worry about any rain coming from your area Jaabat as it seems that you have flown the coup!!

Jim,
I didn't realize that members of that tribe were allowed to leave the reservation, I could have sworn that they had to stay within the confines of Capital Hill. Except of course when they are out fleecing the public or looking for corporate support.

That tribe spells their name with a U, Doug!
Afternoon.......
Just finished cutting the front grass and the hill. Then, I cut the other side of the drive. Then, I trimmed with my new Stihl wacker. Pretty nice. And light too. Now I am taking it easy the rest of the day. About 92 degrees now. House is nice and cool.
Roy.......Love your translation list.
Jim......Tell Chief about me being the " quietest guy on the Forum ". That ought to get a good response.
Well, be back later.

Jim, does that mean that you are going to spend the weekend at the library? The rest of us can pick on folks the whole time....of course, who would want to pick on such a fine gentleman as the Chief?
Hope y'all have a good afternoon.

Evening all
Been out of the loop for a few days travelling with the bride. Started in Cincinnatti for brides carpel tunnel post op visit. All well and back to normal. She can return to doing dishes!!! Then went northeast to Millersburg where we picked up a table and 8 chairs made by the Amish. Great furniture and reasonable. Stayed at a nice B&B then travelled around on backroads. Beautiful area. Stopped at a place in Dover Ohio called the Warther Carvings and Gardens. This guy was a master carver and carved BEAUTIFUL trains in mahogany, ebony and ivory. Incredible detail, the pictures do not do them justice. Here is the site http://www.warthers.com/carvings.htm.
A real rivet counter.
Roy - great definations
Everyone down south - great news with the rain.
Zeke- Congrats on selling the Saab,
Chuck - Congrats on the posting milestone
Need to do some studying before bed
God bless

What airport is near the York meeting? Maybe I can look it up and figure out what it would cost. I need to email the Ozark division secretary and find out what's going on around here.
Jim, Harrisburg, HIA, is the closest, but I am sure you will find Baltimore is the cheapest to fly to. About 1.5 hour drive to York. York doesn't have a lot of motel/hotels. A lot stay in the Lancaster area which is another half hour beyond York.
The Fall show is a little bigger in my opinion.
Zeke - you'll need that truck to carry your trains around
John - Spurs - what Spurs? Weren't the Mavs supposed to beat the Warriers and the Cavs?
Regards, Roy
Thanks for the info guys - I did a quick check on travelocity at work just randomly picking 10/5 to 10/8 as dates and it was like $290 to $320 for 2 way ticket to either one. I wouldn't want to fly American as I have friends who had to use them for work and have lots of horror stories of the planes pulling away from the boarding walkway on time and then sitting for 2 hours before being grounded due to mechanical problems etc. My wife and kids got back finally (I70 is apparently under contruction from Concordia to Boone County so it was about a 7 hour drive versus 5! I need to start working on this now for next year. I think this would be great, but I figure I need to budget about $500 for the trip etc and probably another $500 or more for gotta have treasures! Then there will be the doctor bills after I get back and the credit card receipts show up!!! Thanks especially for that offer Brent, very kind indeed!
Nice list Roy! Chuck, congrats on 2000, looking forward to the next 2000 for sure.
Laz - I agree, this will be a real blast - I mostly got interested in TCA due to you guys having all that fun without me! Need to get hold of my Division Pres or Sec'y and find out what's going on around here. As far as I can tell, there is very little O gauge in my area, although it sounds like it's better than some other guys have it. I do have one good store and another that's not too bad, but not much O.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

lol true i have to say thank you to everyone here for all the advice, help and anything in between. without you all i prolly would have given up.
I did buy the truck its an older truck but i wont have to smog it, i own it, (no payments) and the engine and tranny are only 7,800 miles old. thats why i bought it over some others i seen. i had a small budget to fingd the best available and reasonable truck $2000.00 was the limit. since the truck is mainly for hauling trash and hauling trains, lol.
its a 1975 chevy custom 20 2wd 350 auto with 2 bl carb with a rv cam. It has a 1 bad brake cylinder witch we be fixed this weekend, i think. i got it at a discount. the guy wanted 3300 but i talked him down to 900......reason being i got it so cheap is i know him for 1 i put a motor in a chevelle for him...and two he needs a motor put in a truck hes building...he does body not mechanical work. works out for both of us....truck has hooker headers and some glas packs, so its got a little rumble in the jungle!
plus a gun rack....
FOOLED YOU!!! Had to get to the store. It is now 11:30 EDT [I've been up since 4:30 AM EDT. Only 8:30 MT [AZ does not do Daylight Savings Time]. Three hour difference. Chargers selling like hot cakes. TrainShop near hotel. Bed time after MICROWAVE POPCORN.

Actually, HIA seemed like it was a little cheaper and closer (42 minutes per google???) to York PA. I'll need to shop around and see about combo deals, so will have to probably line stuff up before October of this year for next year.
Just brought this up with my wife and she indicated that next year in Oct would probably be doable, so I'll say count me in for 2008!
Chief, hope your room is okay other than the computer link. Don't lie on top of the bedspread - they never clean that and you can get the creeping crud!
Real fancy Holiday Inn [not Express] convention center with restuarant. Nice room. Frig and microwave.
Forgot!! The main street leading out of the Skyway [or something like that] Airport in Phoenix is, now pay attention, BUCKEYE ST.
lol thats funny right there jim!
hope everyone is having a great night tonight.
the gf uncle isnt coughing up his old lionels...they are in rough but savable shape...hes letting me borrow a atsf switcher that i had to clean alot of gunk off of...

Jim, I agree. The Warther Carvings are unbelievable. We go to Holmes County at least three or four times a year. Coblentz Chocolates, Miller's Bakery, Henni Cheese, Leheman Hardware and Berlin Christmas Store are all places we stop. Did you know about the train store in Sugar Creek? There is also one in Dover.
Morning to All,
Brewed a freshpot, nice and strong to get the day kicked in gear. Either Buckeye was up extra early or he was very late going to bed. Probably busy keeping an eye on you know who.....
Zeke - congrats on the truck - everybody needs a truck. My son has an old beater, a Dodge Dakota that has seen better days but it keeps on runnin. Hopefully it will last one more year till he's finished grad school
Buckeye - we have 5 more days with the darlings and one etra with the teachers. This summer is going to be a mess moving everyone because of the renovation and addition that is almost finished.
LAZ - last day for you, right?? - Hooray
Jim Fortner - sounds like a plan. We'll see you in York, October 16, 17, 18 in 2008. Might want to come a day or so earlier to see some of the sights. Don Baker might be a good source since he made the trip in April for the first time.
Well I better get going.
Take care,
Mitch

Peace and love to you, my Georgian brother.
Good morning from New England!
No train action last night. The wife was home and her family came over for dinner. But I did briefly go downstairs to look at my new hottie, that K-Line Pacific in B&M livery! Looks good! Now I wish I had taken some photos before I painted it!
That's it. Not much else going on.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 70 degrees. Going up to 88 today with sunshine early and then a chance of a late afternoon thundershower. Hope not.
Today, I have a few things to do around the house and I will take it easy the rest of the day. Still have to get the paint for my bridge and start the cleaning. Hope to get it done by the end of this month.
Buckeye...We go up to Dover and Walnut Creek at least once a year. I agree, the Walther's Museum is great to see. I have to check out that hobby store in Sugar Creek.
Dining car has arrived and it's time for breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck,
Are you really going to paint that bridge blue? I've had great results with Krylon spray paint. It dries very fast and is pretty durable. I just repainted a K-Line locomotive with Krylon, and it looks incredible. Like a factory finish. Easy to use and cheap cheap cheap if you buy it at WalMart. Clean and degrease the bridge before painting. Mineral spirits or a good household cleaner work great!
