Good morning all.  Hope everyone is having a great morning.  Got to LA safe now gotta work this afternoon.  Seems it will be a fairly long day of editing.  Can someone tell me why wives wait until you leave to dump problems on you so you have to fret about them for the next 5 days out on the road?  Sheesh.

Sir James - was just over on the Tennessee side of the Smoky Mtns.  Cades Cove, Pidgeon Forge, Gatlingburg and back over into Cherokee, NC. last weekend.   All is well.  Nice and cool up there.

Had a wonderful visit with Dewey and Barbara up in the Blue Ridge of NC yesterday.  Beautiful place and really cool up there.  Nicest people you ever met - enjoyed some of Dewey's homemade peach and strawberry ice cream.  Please remember them both in your prayers as Barbara will be undergoing some delicate surgery on Aug. 1st. and Dewey will be having some dental surgery the week after.

Actually bought hi-test gas on the way to the mountains yesterday for $2.99!

Hubby's gout acting up again - his hip is doing great.  I don't think I'll ever get him well!  Well, let's go freeze some corn and work on lunch!

Good morning from a sunny and cool Crystal Lake where I plan to go to church today and maybe even venture into Chicago to visit with my brother and his wife. Yesterday, I spent the afternoon with my friend who had the same eye symptoms and subsequent fixings that I did - our wives' call us the Cyclops Twins because we had two good eyes between us. But it was enough to watch a few ball games and the Busch qualifying trials. (he has a better TV and cable).

There are lots of great stories of local trolley and interuban operations. Great photos, Tom! They criss-crossed much of the country in the early part of the last century - and have inspired my layout.

Those blocks sure look useful. Something to browse for the youngest. I'm hoping to begin to tackle a Plasticville school house I got for my birthday - hope to carve it in two to use as depots in different locales against the backdrop.

Good morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 58 degrees. Going up to 80, today, with sunshine all day.

Today, I am taking it a little easy. Got all of the grass mowed, yesterday. Took about 4 hours. Getting better. I need to run an errand, to a local store and then relax for a few hours. Wife is doing much better. A little pain, but nothing like a few weeks ago. Two more weeks and then she goes in for final xrays. Looks good.

John...( csxt30 )...You almost exposed the secret project on your workbench. Be careful.

Dining Car is here and is early. Time for breakfast and then I will send it to " points west ". All aboard.

Well Laz you've inspired me...

I purchased a mountain bike about 4-years ago.  I used to ride a lot...Planning to log some time in the saddle each day with the girls in the bike trailer behind.  Been partial to the rollerblades the last couple of years, pushing a stroller.  It means loading up the kids, and taking them to the park with paved walkways.  We live on a gravel road, difficult to skate.

Yesterday yardwork, placed parts order to the good Dr..  Time to fix all the train ailments.

Nothing much going on today.. Church, bikeride, trains, dinner with friends.

Morning all,

10:00hrs here in Peterborough. Bright and sunny makes a change from the heavy rain of yesterday.

Will try and cut a couple of hedges in the garden today if the weather holds.

Took Charlie to a friends birthday party at LaserForce yesterday afternoon. The Wife and I then escaped for a hour and a half to go shopping. Went into a couple of book shops who's staff were looking a little tired. They had been open since midnight for the new Harry Potter book launch. Waterstones looked like it had been raided! I think they had around 10 copies left when we past through.

Had news from Marty @ MA&PA that my Williams 773 Scale Hudson is on the way with its matching cars. Can't wait, ordered it for my birthday back in April. 

Fingers crossed the weather stays good for the next few days as the gamesroom and garage is due for the roof tiles to go on Mon/Tues.

Doug M : in addition to what Mike said above, you may want to look into the American Plastic Bricks !!  They are very educational for the little ones and can also go well with your trains !!  I know Mike & a couple others have them besides myself & there are tons of them on e-bay all the time. You can make a Trolley Barn & other structures !! This is not a good house I made, but it shows what they are & the windows & doors open !  I have a garage door that opens too !!

Evening all !  Sloooooow day.  Resolved the washer/dryer situation.  And they are going to actually deliver on SUNDAY.  Couldn't believe it!  So heard this radio commerical on the way home about the new Harry Potter book.  Wife said she wanted to read it, so picked it up.

Got home had a "Chill" day, she has read ALL day, 9 chapters, had to get 2nd pair of glasses out.

Did get my video dvd's taken care of. 

Havn't heard much from John F, must be working on his Reunion Book.

Ya John its creepy the way that sign just popped up like that. We didn't do Dollywood when we were there but I know my grandsons will want to go. We did go to the one that was in Nashville once I heard it's a shopping center now.property values I guess.(Opryland as I recall).

Tom, what a great idea!  Roseyville needs a light rail to the Capital.  I would estimate $10 Million would be a good start for the Roseyville Town Council to collect from the citizens.

Ya John its creepy the way that sign just popped up like that. We didn't do Dollywood when we were there but I know my grandsons will want to go. We did go to the one that was in Nashville once I heard it's a shopping center now.property values I guess.(Opryland as I recall).

My wife is home from the air show liked it as always but said they were charging $3.50 for a bottle of water.  thats more than a gallon of gas.My daughter called today and wants us to go with them to gatlinburg and dollywood next month. WE said yes its a chance to get away without having to do all the driving and I'll get to see the smokies. I remember last time we went through and down found nothing but campsites.No motels finally found one restaurant that looked safe to eat in.We ate took a short drive on the Blue ridge and went back to tenn.Sure is different from one side to the other. so thats that.           Sir James
