I remember watching a television program and hearing a interesting bit of trivia about Yvonne DeCarlo.  Story was that Yvonne wanted to be a dancer at a particular night club but in order to get a job as a dancer, the women were required to expose themselves for the owner.  Person relaying the story said that at first she declined but Yvonne wanted the job so after a while she went to the nightclub, "flashed" the owner and got the job.

The program may have been "True Hollywod Story" but I seem to recall that it was about the Munsters TV program not just Yvonne.

I can see why he hired her.

Hi All

Yavon Decarlo, that brings back memories.  I remember the model train layout the Munsters had and the staged train wrecks.

I won a 1/64 Indian motorcycle on the 'bay.  I hope it is the right size for the layout, I'm not OCD about it, but I do like it close.  I hope to put it over by the Branford Diner with the hot rods, maybe take a plasticville, guy heat it and bend him to look like he is riding, black leathers .  .  . hum, has possibilities.

Still warm and wet, that's OK, my gas bill loves it.  I want to do a little repair today, received an order from Port Lines with jewels for a 312 I refurbed.

Too damp to put on poly on bookcase, color turned out OK.  Maybe later.

Laz, be carefull unting and good luck, keep the wind in your face.  Been too long since I was deer hunting.  It used to be a passion, bowhunting, took a year off due to a shoulder injury and never went back, been 5 years now.

Later

Well, got the truck fixed, then got on the phone with India again and now Norton is working on both computers all a-ok!  Only took about 15 hours of my time Censored [censored]

Got a couple cars on bid on ebay, but no big deals.  Tons of stuff to do around the house and we are getting freezing rain (probably) all through this weekend - great.  Hopefully AmerenUE has fixed everything from the last time - if we end up with half a million folks out of power again, I think those guys will be run out of town on a rail for sure!

Feels like a warm spring day this afternoon. I had to put on a short sleeve shirt since I was working on our vehicles today. Charged up the battery on the old Caddy I want to sell and backed it out of the garage to wash it. Sure left a nice space for a train layout! Wink [;)] Also washed my Blazer and put new wiper blades on eldest daughter's car before she heads back to school in Birmingham in about a week. Wife's Jeep Liberty at the dealership getting recall work done, should be ready to pick up later today.

I have a vague memory of one Adams family episode where Gomez blew up some trains.  Another character asked him why he did that?  Gomez's reply was something like "Why else would a grown man play with them?"

It was funny to see Uncle Fester with the light bulb in his mouth when Gomez would run his trains.

Framing done on walk-in layout.  Hope to put top oon tomorrow.  That means track to make the circle or both circles.  072 Swithces is what I need.  I know where I can get them but Miss Edna would get upset as she ordered more than usual so I could get them from her.  Later.

Dr. John, another thing you may want to do in preparation for your daughter heading back to school, get the Rain-X kit from WalMart and do her windshield and put some in the reservoir.  I used it recently for the first time and it really helps with the gully washers we get here in Dixie.  Anyway, I then did it on our other vehicles and will continue to do so.

On other fronts, we went out to celebrate the birthday again by having dinner at a restaurant tonight.  Last night, the kids were not feeling well and we didn't want to take them out.  We went out and had a good time.  The waitress and some other crew sang to me and gave me a nice ice cream sundayDinner [dinner].  Then, we came home to find that the brown santa had delivered two packages.  First was the MTH Hudson, that I must say I am very impressed with, it is SWEET!  Then, I got a bridge from the Train-Station that has a couple of figures on it and a light.  I have just the spot on the layout for it.  Overall it has been a great couple of days.  I do hope that everyone has a great weekend.  Please remember to share your feelings with those you care about.  We have seen too many dear friends and loved ones pass from this life far too early and quite unexpectedly.

God Bless,

Dennis

Understand don't want miss Edna getting upset with you. Can't have out suppliers upset with us then we wouldn't get anything.

Doing a complete inventory of my trains this weekend as I tried xmas weekend but missed a lot well counted and listed on my puter in excel my engines so far (its all of them but kinda shocked me still ) 44 counting dummies or 38 not. ( I was figuring around 34 total counting dummies.) Oh all these are conventional I don't have any of the command control type.

Passenger cars get listed tomorrow (I believe there is 31 ) Then the rolling stock that's where the fun comes in lol

Well have fun all

Evening all,

Thanks for the help with the posting of pictures. I have not tried it yet but will try soon. I don't understand why it has to be so difficult. You would think that the technology available these days would allow one to put pictures on this forum w/o being so complicated.

It sounds like the weather is going to be interesting across a good part of this country for the weekend with a substantial amount of ice and freezing rain. I guess it's already in Oklahoma and heading to St Louis. My son works for an accounting firm and is in Dallas for the month of January. I will have to give him a call and see how the weather is there.

I know I was off the forum for awhile but I don't think I saw any posts from Tom (Spanky) in Ohio since I've been back. Maybe I just missed them.

Have a nice night.

We had snow !!!!

Only about the 2nd or 3rd time I have seen snow in LA Basin.  It was really cool and windy yesterday then just plain cold last night.  Really odd it was 84 on Tuesday!!!  Supposed to be

COLDER TONIGHT !!!

Got to work this week-end at LA Fairgrounds, (computer show) it will certainly be a litttle brisk in the morning!  Glad we are only doing this show once a month, makes for a long day, and weekend.

Finally getting window coverings in the Train Room, guy was out for measuring yesterday, should be installed in two weeks.  Of course, some unique sizes, and installation is free.

KEITH - Thanks for the headsup on the eBay auction.  I will be watching that auction.  Certainly made a nice looking set.  It will be interesting to see what it sells for.

Chris and I went down to the train club on Wed. night.  We really had a great time!  Ran our Cotton Belts, and they were doing great, smoking up a storm!!! (K-Line).  Also took my speeder (upgraded with TMCC) and it is ALWAYS a hit, and draws lots of attention.  Also had a MPC Illinois Central Set ABA, that I upgraded, it was performing well also. Need to finish the install.  To get the headlights to work correctly need to run a tether to the dummy unit light as well as the powered A, (B unit has the TMCC).

Hope everyone has a great week-end, and the weather doesn't get too bad..

KEVIN  PLEASE..... CLOSE THE DOOR

the work sheet all I did was list the differnt items by catasgory (diesel/electric) then broke it down to time period ( prewar, postwar, or modern era)

i'll do the passenger cars the same and the rolling stock the same. then at the end I'll have complete sets in there boxes listed which are all modern era at present. hope this doesn't take up to much space but basicly here it is

Rtrain, a Robert Smith contacted me with an inventory sheet he had done on computer and was going to post it on CTT.  Real good thing he had done.  Thought it might have been you.  Robert has US Army email address.  Hope he posts it.

Don Baker, a BIG THANKS to you for your help with printer.  Just like you advised.  Left it on for hours.  Freed up the ink.  Gang, remember, if you need printer help or supplies, contact our own Don Baker.  That is his business.

Just finished watching a movie, Sahara, pretty good.  Was on one of the premium cable channels. Had my bag of microwave popcorn to go with it.

Good night.

Chief - is that the Bogart flick with the tank?  Good movie!

Wife was going to go crapbooking, but called on account of (freezing) rain.  No actual ice here in Arnold yet, but we are right at the line and it is getting colder.  Bid on som MORE train cars on ebay - what am I thinking???  All I really want to do tomorrow is go to the LHS for some bumpers, a couple pieces of track, and ???  But if it continues colder and freezing rain is here, then I will just hole up here and finish wiring my switches on the train and then in the basement.  I have some wood and thinking about adding a separate level sorta.  Can't be too much, SWMBO is a little edgy about my level of stuff right now.  Gotta finish the basement!  Once I get the taxes done, we'll see....

Live from Roger's Corners,

It's Saturday Morning!

JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE

Sarah walked into a pharmacy and told the pharmacist
that she needed some cyanide. The Pharmacist said,
"Why in the world do you need cyanide?"

Sarah then explained she needed it to poison her husband.
The pharmacist's eyes got big and he said, "Lord, have
mercy. I can't give you cyanide to kill your husband!
That's against the law!  I'll lose my license; they'll throw
both of us in jail and all kinds of bad things will happen!
Absolutely not, you can NOT have any cyanide!"

Sarah reached into her purse and pulled out a picture of
her husband in bed ... with the pharmacist's wife.

The pharmacist looked at the picture and replied, "Well,
now -- You didn't tell me you had a prescription."

It is pouring down rain in Buckeyeland!  I can see the flood warnings heading our way if this continues and it is snowing in L.A.!

One of the best postings I have read on the forum is Marty's installation of TMCC in the Polar Express.   Thanks, Marty for sharing.  The Electric Railway Company can be found at:  http://www.electricrr.com/index.htm .   They seem to really be trying to make upgrades simple for the electrically challenged.  Another new product that I just saw was the BEEP People.  These can be seen at http://readymadetoys.stores.yahoo.net/besefi.html

After reading hundreds of posts for almost three years, it seems that electrical problems spoil the fun of so many.   Needless to say, I have been very fortunate, but I also have read the instuctions, usually twice.  For those just getting into Command Control, I recommend the book by Neil Besoughloff, Command Control for Toy Trains published by CTT.

Hello again from Stockport, wet and windy, black as your grandfathers. +11 at 1100GMT.

Painters doing a good job, about half way through, should be clear Wednesday. Glad it's mild as I have to keep windows open in order to clear the gloss paint fumes. Tried the water based stuff, doesn't last long in UK with our widely varying temps. and humidity.

I live near to the local footy ground and on home match days I stay indoors due to the violence and hooliganism of the fans (so called?). All the shops have to be protected with steel shutters and the police are out in force with horses and dogs to control the worst elements. The average crowd for a Stockport County match is 4-6,000. This ground is shared with Sale Sharks a rugby union football club, they get 18,000 fans and no trouble at all, just two policemen to check tax discs and direct traffic. We have a saying; 'Football is a gentleman's game played by idiots: Rugby is an idiots game played by gentlemen'. I goofed with Beckhams pay, it should have read pounds per week that's; $930,000.00 PER WEEK!!

Boy! Am I waiting for my toy train set. Should be here some time next week. I'm thinking of using a 1990X950 (6'6"X3'2") light weight door faced with Sundeala as a baseboard.

A police car, a fire engine and an ambulance have just passed on their way to the M60, been another crash! poor devils.

Dr John, you and I are both running to stand still, I am sure.

However, I never click on links in am e-mail message unless I trust the sender. Don't know anything about " w t . d l i s y s . c o m " so I did not click on any of the links in the message.

Here is some of the text from the message.  Sounds interesting.

One thing that we hope will brighten your 2007 is the debut of the K-Line by Lionel product line and K-Line's inclusion into the Lionel family.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a rainy, 52 degrees and going up to 53 with, yes, rain. If it was colder, this would all be snow. And lots of it.

Today, we have some afternoon company coming. Niece and son. He is not a train lover. Too active to sit still. So, I will probably run trains, while the ladies visit. Nothing much new, other than that.

Looks like the Dining Car is finally here from " points west ". There is the call " All Aboard ". Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.  Get some sleep, John.

No Chief wish i had a good program for doing this as like us all I'm sure I have some rolling stock 3 and 4 times ( 6465 tank cars, 6162 gondolas, 6017 cabooses, ect, ect )

Going to LHS this morning to run my Williams 2322 Trainmaster.

GregM I probally would have gotten the same email as I was but about 6 months ago had to go change my email as I was getting over 300 spam a day . I use to have rtraincollector@yahoo.com but some made sure I couldn't use it no more. I shut it down completely. but still your smart not opening any unknown it could be someone using it as a coy that somehow got into the email list of kline. And of coarse you probably already know that if you goto www.lionel.com they have a count down ticker going to when the Kline and the Lionel catalog(s) will be coming out and to me it appears its going to be 2 different catalogs unless one is from the front and the other is from the back if you know what I mean I've seen that done before especially on instruction booklets in 2 different languages

Well not much else happening time to go get some breakfast.

Mornin' boys.  Just finished sorting out the laundry for the wash.  Can anyone explain why teenage girls must wear 2-3 different outfits a day?  Finally sitting down with my first cup of coffee.

John Bakeer - My hometown is hosting a "match" at our local "footy ground" as well today.   The American football Indianapolis Colts have competed for the right to have their crowns sheered off by the American football BALTIMORE RAVENS.  It should be a "smashing good time".  The citizenry of Baltimore have amassed to stop the invaders, by dressing all in purple, decorating their homes with purple and black, and even placing huge inflatable football players in their front yards, all to intimidate these "offensive" warriors.  The Colts have the superiority in the air, yet the Ravens are the best defense in the land.  There hasn't been this much buzz in the air since 1814, and you may recall what happened to that visiting team.  Oh, in a touch of irony, M&T Bank Stadium is about a mile away from another famous "footy ground"......... FORT McHENRY!

G'day English!

Greg,
Can you assist me in some research?  Can you forward that email?  I am testing some security software and am not affraid to click links (I have two networks in the house, one is more secure than the other)... I'll let you know the contents of the site and if it worth clicking!

BTW - Yes I am a train geek, but I'm a computer uber geek for work...

Cold and rainy here in MD this morn... no shipments from CharlesRo or TAStudios. Disapprove [V]  Although FedEx did pickup the return to CharlesRo!  I'll post pics and a summary of the EOB Upgrade and reviews of the B&O Mikado, Chessie Super Freight (pre and post upgrade), and the C&O 0-8-0 also... wk5 of 6 wks completed in school, so will do the reviews either next weekend or the weekend after... 3 classes down, 7 to go!  Cool [8D]  I am taking a couple weeks off... need to recharge the batteries, spend some time with the trains, and more importantly - spend time with the wife, it's been since the Honeymoon in June that we have had quality time with each other... Disapprove [V]

Well off to finish this paper!  Then off to Father-In-Laws to clear out more stuff (maybe pickup his pre-war and post-war stuff, take to LHS to have cleaned), then off to M&T Bank Stadium for the Playoff Game... BTW our seats are Row 3 Section 114... looking at the endzone where the player tunnel is, we are 4 seats to the right of the right upright on the goal post... I'll be seated with my wife and brother-in-law (he always wears a camo floppy hat to the game)... he also spends a lot of time under the stadium, so there maybe an empty seat to my wife's left (your right)...

Well not much else happening time to go get some breakfast.

rtrain,
I am going to be working on an Access database that will contain all Lionel stock, pre-war, post-war, and modern.  You will then be able to 'record' your own collection using the prestored database as a guide, complete with pictures, grades, etc

When done, I will make available to the board... should be done in about 6 months!

Mornin' boys.  Just finished sorting out the laundry for the wash.  Can anyone explain why teenage girls must wear 2-3 different outfits a day?

I don't know about teenage girls, but it must start early.  My 2yo daughter goes through about 4 dresses per day and also wears a few other sets of clothing.  It is kinda funny as she will go into the closet and dress herself, then appears all done up.  I see lots of anxiety for this father in the future.

Currently watching "Trains and Locomotives" on RFD.  Some spectacular steam footage.  We are off to Columbus, GA, not OH.  going to catch up with some old friends and do some shopping.  I have come to accept the wife's shopping as long as I get to make a hobby shop visit.  Anyway, y'all have a great day.

lionroar88 sounds great. glad I switched over to this board its more in line with what I collect anyway. I was thinking it was the one in clasic trains and didn't like my experince in there coffee shop about a year ago.

My main problem is I don't have a large enough area to build the layout I want to but guess thats all of ours problem never enough lol. It does appear thou i will be able to do about 7' X 13' about 3/4 of the room have to leave room for the chest freezer and my desk.

but need to do work on the floors and walls first plan to get started on one or the other next weekend this weekend is tied up with other things.
