Not sure what I missed here - but it looks like it is a good thing!
Busy day here. Watched the foundation repair crew dig 11 holes under the rear portion of my foundation perimeter (that doesn't sound good does it?) and then auger down about 10-12 feet, install rebar and then poor some concrete for piers. It gets to cure for a week and then they come and jack up the foundation to lift the house back into position, block it and secure. Now my trains won't roll off the shelves any more on their own . Hey and I get to pay for this too!
Hope all have a great day tomorrow!
Regards, Roy
Roy, my friend Jim Young had to have his house jacked up as well - what a mess. He had to do this about a year before he retired (lucky) and since they moved to SC they are just renting - said he had it with owning a house! I read it all while on breaks at work - you din't miss nothing good.
Got outbid on more stuff on ebay - maybe I should bid more that stuff is worth (to me)
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Ran new Atlas engines for 4 hours. Having so much fun I did not realize what time it was. Switched engines around, ran Lionels and Atlas, back to Atlas and switched dummies [NS and Conrail] in and out.
I think we have a problem. Remember the last one. Sounds so simular. Guess we will have to handle it the same way.

Had a good blaze in the centre of Manchester yesterday, Two large Victorian office buildings burned. One was part empty and had itinerants inside when the fire started, it's suspected they may have lit their own funeral pyre. I put oil fired heating boilers in one of them a few years ago, there was about 10,000 gallons of fuel oil inthe basement so it burned well.

Good morning from Gettysburg. Bee-u-tee-ful day yesterday. Chance of some showers today with a high of 72.
The Mrs. leaves tomorrow for FL going to her niece's graduation/wedding party. The niece and her hubby to be were to graduate Saturday AM but are skipping the ceremony to get married. Only the parents and their brothers are invited to the wedding, then a big party in the afternoon. To each their own.
Our son is finishing up a project and exams this week. He will take his last exam Thursday. Now the great apartment search at American University will begin. Apartments in Nothwest DC are not cheap...neither is University housing. Don't know what he will do. He'll figuer it out.
Take care and have a peaceful day in the Coffee Pot.
Good morning from New England.
I got an urgent e-mail from the Chief regarding a recent rash of fake ATMs popping up. They are fairly easy to distinguish from the real ATMs, if you look closely and pay attention.
No trains last night. We went furniture shopping instead. Bought some new living room and kitchen stuff. $$$!

Brent, got the email.....sounds good.
John B., For the most part, it's all in good fun.
Chief, don't worry about the supply, plenty of farmers switching to corn on the rotations here as the price is going up with the ethanol push. This will however make the price of both popcorn and ethanol go up.
BF, please don't get onto anyone about spelling, lots of mispelled words and poor grammer on forums, the main thing is having fun and talkin' trains.

HeHe seems Jim's wife has been reading the forums and figured since everyone else's wife is getting new furniture she needed some too! Welcome to the group Jim! Got another email from Big 'L' Tech Support last night. They wanted to know the status of my 0-8-0 with poor sounds! I emailed them once, they emailed that it could be a bad sound card and to call them so they could hear it and diagnose. I emailed back that I didn't have a way to test it and would call as soon as I did, they were following up! WOW! Wife said, 'So you have had a carpet layout setup in the basement for a week and you didn't put the engine on the track and call them? If I were them I wouldn't send you a new card because it sounds to like you aren't interested!' So I guess I have to setup carpet central for a night and give them a call. Thursday looks good for that as the wife wants to go to Lowes' tomorrow night to use a coupon! Well gotta get back to work and download my week's assignments for school...
Good morning all,
It is another beautiful, sunny and warm day in SE Indiana with temps in the 80s. It is the first day of May, which used to mean the track was open for practice for the greatest race in the world. Now they start on the first Monday after the first Sunday, sort of like elections. Anyway, it should be interesting with three ladies entered in "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing". There will be some festivities on the circle in downtown Indy today, and the Mini-Marathon is this weekend. It sounds as if there was some "interesting" conversations yesterday, but it also sounds as if matters were resolved. Now we can go back to more mundane topics, such as Rebs vs. Yanks, or we can discuss something truly important, like the fact "Veronica Mars" is back on tonight on the CW.
I edged the yard and helped the wife clean up the kitchen after she went on a baking frenzy yesterday. Nine and a half dozen chocolate chip cookies and four loaves of banana nut bread. The dining car is fully loaded for "Points East" today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a sunny 55 degrees. Going up to a warm 84 today. Looks like a possible rain shower, this evening.....
Today, I will work in the yard for a while. Starting to clean up the weeds and take all the wind chimes out of the shed. Wife likes wind chimes. I may clean up the train room, later, when it's hot outside. Then, take it easy. Relax.
Dining car has arrived and is ready for breakfast. Later.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck

HI GIZ,
Nice here today at 50 to get to 70.
BUCKEYE I have used a bicycle repair kit with a blow out patch. First you need to find where pond is leaking at, dry it out then glue. I have gotten another rubber membrane and put it over the existing one, cause I couldn't find the leak, probably on the bottom. I even used shoe goo to fix small leaks near the top of the membrane.
BRENT, remember STICKS AND STONES CAN BREAK MY BONES BUT NAMES WILL NEVER HURT ME.
Watch how you wash your wifes BEEMER?
Rock on,

Hey California Don Baker... you had posted that you had ordered a couple track cleaning cars... do you by chance have the link to the company? Thanks!OH, and Laz...

Yuz giz Yanks. Do us Southerners have to teach you everything?!! You can get repair kits that glue with water in the pool. I have glued vinyl linner pools [big ones in ground] with the kits and water in them. The shallow end of course. No joke. They work.

CHIEF, I didn't know that you can use GRITS to repairing ponds? Isn't GRITS a great product 1001 uses.
Buckeye. I have 2 words for you - duct tape!
Chief knows how to repair leaks like this because he brings an inflatable girlfriend with him when he travels! I think her name is Moana!!
Whah-oh!

We're going to make a GRITS lover out of you afterall.
Morning all,
Beautiful in Southern Ohio!! Plan on yard work. I've got to stay quiet, i.e. no trains because wife is sleeping after working a nightshift in peds. Need to move dirt and cut a friends grass.
I got my grades from last quarter. An A in Church History and a C+ in The letters of John. Instructor knocked me down a grade because I do not have a degree and would not be right to get a B+ without already having a degree. Go figure. I decided to pick my battles and just move on. Over all it is pass/fail so through the gate to next quarter. The head of the Deaconate program said to me I was an experiment anyway because prior to my inrolement, a degree in anything was an unstated pre-requeset. I spend a lot of time at work "discussing" with engineers what works in theory and on paper I have seen different in the 30+ years working in the nuclear industry. Sorry for the rant, just a pet peeve.
Worked on the loader and car last night working great. I think I'm going to take it apart and repaint it. As good as it works the paint chips are showing begining signs of rust, so it will be a blast and paint job, between work, study, yard work, grandkids etc.
I hope Lucky is doing better. I keep avoiding the decision to put down Sue. The brest tumor is the size of a football. But, she doesn't seem in pain,
Take care all and may God bless each of your needs
Good morning from sunny and warm Alabama. Temps to get near 90 degrees today, then cool off a bit the next few days.
Had to put my Snapper riding mower in the shop. Drive belt for blade broke and it was time for an oil change and blade sharpening anyway. Shoulda bought a Deere! Actually, the Snapper is a good mower, but it's too really too small for my yard - only a 30" deck. (Bought it in Mobile before moving to Prattville and bigger yard).
Sturgeon-Phish, that's a pretty lame excuse for knocking you down a grade. If you've been accepted in the program that should be that. Guess you're right about picking your battles but have you talked to anyone over your instructor's head? Congrats on the A in Church History! Sorry your dog, Sue, is ailing.
Just an observation . . . It is difficult to determine whether someone is kidding or not through written posts. We don't have the advantage of seeing facial expressions or body language, or hearing a persons tone of voice (Of course, the smileys do help some ). For the most part, everyone seems to get along well and take kidding in the spirit of friendship. My suggestion is, if something seems a bit "off-kilter" in a post, give the benefit of the doubt. If it's genuinely offensive, just leave it alone. The moderators can take care of that for us. I think we can disagree on a subject and express that disagreement in a respectful manner.
I don't mean to preach and I'm speaking to myself as much as anyone else. Have a good day, eveyone!
That's right LAZ - and it makes good driveway patch too!
Good morning from a rainy Dallas. Supposed to rain all week and then clear for the weekend.
Have a great day all!

DR. JOHN, didn't FOREST, FOREST GUMP use one of those SNAPPERs. Cut real good for him?
I just di the same maintenance on my tractor had to put a drive belt on and change a tension pulley. Its great when they work, especially with sharpened blades. Makes the lawn look great.

This has to be put to rest...This was NOT about Bimmers and Beemers it was about where someone stated they were truely offended and then came back at me AFTER I posted an explanation and they basically called me a liar...That is the last I am saying about this subject.
