John B.  I agree, while our pets are here, they share plenty of true love.  They still greet me when I come home like I am the greatest thing they ever saw.  Sometimes the kids do too, but always the dogs.

John (csxt30), dated girls with all different colored hair, but ended up marrying a blonde southern bell.  Best thing I ever did.  While she is out shopping, I am here on the computer and soon to be back in the "industries" book we just got.  I agree with you on the freight house and the propane facilities.  I see a few more that may make the layout too.  I think we have a lot of information we can gleen from our HO and scale friends.  Speaking of which, I would encourage folks to go to the "Model Railroader" web site and check out some of the articles accessed at the top of the web page.  Lots of good info.

Good evening all,

It was a cool but sunny (mostly) day in SE Indiana.  I patched the alley with a truckload of gravel and worked on the ramps to the new garage door.  I also mowed the yard and planted a tree I picked up at a local home improvement show.  Last night was TV night as we watched the "Lost" tape (pretty good show, Jimtrumpie.  I wonder if they are all dead or if what has happened was just a flash in someone's life before they died.), and "Close to Home" and "Numb3rs".  Three women are racing at the IRL race in Kansas this weekend.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

I hope everyone stayed nice and cool today- summer is back here in SoCal, with the second day of temps here in Santa Clarita in the mid 90's I almost forgot how hot it gets here. Tried to do some yard work at 3:00 p.m.- just went back inside and turned on the A/C. Dead [xx(]

The funny thing is that it's going to get alot hotter (normally in the 100's during summer)- gotta love working outdoors...

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 50 degrees. Going up to 75 today. Suppose to be a beautiful day.

Today is a busy day. I have to mow the entire yard. The grass has really grown. It's going to take a couple of hours to dry out first. They are calling for rain, again tomorrow, so today is the day to mow. I don't think I'll get any train time in, today.

Nascar race from Talladega, today.

Dining Car is here, early. " Points west " must be sleeping late. It is time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Morning all.  Packing and off to the store.  Don't worry as much about Yankee invasion with bb01 and Lisa holding the line. Approve [^]  Can't wait until I get home to see how much the grass and garden has grown.  bb01, the box has not arrived from the Yank in IL [per wife].  Must be on pony express.  Everytime I've delt with him, slow shipper but comes through with great product.  This trip turned out to be good.  Sold a few chargers, got to meet Lisa and see her great art work and scenery.  Wish Dewey had been able to ride up with me.  Maybe the next time.  If gas wasn't $3 a gallon, I'd make  a trip back just to do that.  Then eat some of Lisa's different Bar-Be-Que.

Maybe we can organize a meeting in Roanoke some weekend.  Dewey, Lisa, bb01 [Jim], RRTrainCollector anyone of Rebel conviction and myself could take a weekend and visit O Winston Link, some of the NS, the VA Transportation Museum and some Train Shops [bbo1 knows a good one there].

Hey, TCA Train Meet next weekend [Saturday] a State Fair Grounds].

Good morning from a sunny and warm Crystal Lake where I spent yesterday pruning outside things. Tbe big news is our youngest got on a two-wheeler (bike) for the first time and just zipped around - goodbye tricycle and big plastic truck. Told the middle boy I'd pay him to pick up the results of all my pruning - and he took me up on it - he's saving for an acoustic guitar. Ran the CSL trolley last eve. Welcome to the forum, Jim.

Good Morning All from NE Ohio

Where the temp is 50 deg with Blue Clear Skies and headed to 75 deg.!

It's good to see some new blood on the pot. We still have been on the road alot and that doesn't leave much time for our trans. We did spend some time at the museum yesterday, just to run the trains.

Chuck - I keep telling you, for the Real NEED for SPEED, watch the NHRA tongiht and see the 330 mph runs.

Mornin' boys. Mornin' Lisa.  Worked a double last night and woke to the sound of young people with self-control issues from an all-night party across the street Banged Head [banghead].  Coffee, Flo.

Chief - I've been wanting to catch the LINK exhibit.  Throw a couple dates on the board, and maybe us Yanks can MARCH ON ROANOKE!  Who's with me men?!!

rtraincollector - Yep, that's Columbia, PA on the east side of the Susquehanna, on the old Port Road.  100 years ago it was an important yard/service facility on the PRR, now there's only the interlocking tower COLA.

BAKEER - you can hold the mushy peas, please.

88 - check your email.

Buckeye - thanks for the BigTen memoir.  Hey, when the Chief does show up in Roanoke, do you think the townsfolk will throw him a welcome party? ...I mean, after all, he may be The Missing Link. OH! bada-bing!

Afternoon All, Just finished mowing the lawn.Dead [xx(] Should have asked the Chief if I could borrow his JD ride on....

Fifedog - You can't beat mushy peas, They are up there with grits in the food hall of fameWink [;)]

John B, I found accommodation hard to come by at last years Ilkley show. Try the Craiglands Hotel it tends to be overlooked  by most people  as its seen as a bit posh and therefore thought to be expensive but its only about £10 a night more than the average in the area. But its a very nice 3* hotel. Breakfast is good to. Its only 1/2 mile from the show venue.

I managed to return there after last years dinner & drinks so its easy to findBig Smile [:D]

afternoon, coffee potters! just finished all the real work I can do today. will head to mower shortly if it doesn't rain me out.

Yes, I live in hills. actually in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. There is a small town 35 north of me called Shenandoah. it is a division point for NS. it is 1/2 way between Roanoke and Hagerstown. they locals call it Shenandoor.

feagles, I can too read and cipher a mite too! I do remember a phone conversation in which you sorta stumbled around with the types of engines you were trying to unload on  me as I was trying to help ya out and I really don't care where you got the mth box, mth still sucks!

Oh !! Sign - Welcome <img src=" border="0" /> BBO1 !!  Hope you will be moving up North soon !!  Laugh <img src=" border="0" /> (just kidding !! )

In reply to the moving up north-been there-done that! Glad to be here! if you cannot or do not understand why, I suggest you listen to Glen Campbell sing "Southern Nights". beside that, yankees talk funny!

Don't worry as much about Yankee invasion with bb01 and Lisa holding the line. Approve <img src=" border="0" />  Can't wait until I get home to see how much the grass and garden has grown.  WELL, SOMEBODY'S GOT TO DO IT! FEAGLES IS TOO DAMN BUSY SELLING STINKY BAIT TO YANKEES!.

bb01, the box has not arrived from the Yank in IL [per wife].  Must be on pony express.  Everytime I've delt with him, slow shipper but comes through with great product.  MAYBE I SHOULD SEND HIM THE mth BOX SO HE'LL HAVE SOMETHING TO PUT THE ENGINES IN?

Maybe we can organize a meeting in Roanoke some weekend.  Dewey, Lisa, bb01 [Jim], RRTrainCollector anyone of Rebel conviction and myself could take a weekend and visit O Winston Link, some of the NS, the VA Transportation Museum and some Train Shops [bbo1 knows a good one there].

THE LINK MUSEUM IS OK AND THE VA TRANSPORTATION MUSEUM IS OK AS WELL. HOBBY SHOP IS REAL GOOD!

Hey, BB01 - what's a PPT?  Howdy.

Rained and freeeeeezing cold so only camped out Friday night and all day Saturday, then came home last night and crashed.  Don't like camping in cold wet weather!  Going to Cabellas in a little bit to buy some better sleeping bags and maybe a cot to replace the blow up mattress, which was fine camping in Summer for a couple years, but turns out to be a big heat sink when it's cold!  Just sucked all the heat away!  If we mention Chief's name, do you think we get a discount?  They just opened this one, so you probably haven't been to it yet...  Let me know if you swing though St. Louis some time (same for any of you guys/gals!).  Only had one little bloodsucking critter on my ankle - guess it's pretty soon after tax season for them to be disbursed back into the wild?  Confused [%-)]Whistling [:-^]

Jim, Try a Therm-a-rest mattress. I did years of climbing and caving trips with the normal 5 season karrimat its good for its light weight and insulation but a few years back I bought a Therm-a-rest its a great bit of kit and gives a lot more comfort and the insulation. Wish I had bought one before. Having said that the last time I used it was at Le Mans for the 24Hrs and it was 40 deg C that weekend! A big heatsink would have been goodSmile [:)]

Afternoon all!

Worn out. Long week of meetings and still fighting the cold I came down with at York. Spent the day yesterday on the sofa - watched the Busch race. On the sofa again today after early church. Watching Nextel Cup race. John - your #20 is taking it in the shorts again today with that pit penalty. Ouch.

Still have to get my York acquisitions out. Got some good prewar O stuff.

Good to see some new folks on the CP!

Have a great day all!

I am wore out.  It has been raining here so much that today was the first time the grass could be cut in several days.  The grass was so high that I set the small mower to its highest setting and occasionally the mowers still bogged down.  I have a rider but don't like to use it when the ground is this wet.  Thank goodness the small mower is self propelled.  Tpaed the NASCAR race to watch some other time.  Tonight is NHRA.  Time for supper.

Good evening all,

Welcome to all the new guys.

First time on the pot since Friday evening.  Been busy with yardwork and family activities.  No train activity, still recovering from York, not sick like some, just tired and need to catch up on other stuff.

Glad to hear from John Baker, been a while.

Take care,

BUCKEYE  - was really glad to meet the Chief - just nervous over having someone with his experience and expertise see my little piddling layout.

Hubby and I went up to our pond fishing after early church while a nice beef roast was in the slow-cooker.  Now about to finish up the mashed potatoes, home-canned green beans, corn-on-the-cob from last years garden and some home-made biscuits. Dinner [dinner]  Better get back to dinner!

Hey, BB01 - what's a PPT?  Howdy.Howdy back at ya! PPT is personal property tax. in this case, a little violation of my 1st amendment rights. would suggest that you get 3 sleeping bags-1 0 degree, 1 midweight and 1 lightweight. it's a been there done that thingy-both my sons are Eagle Scouts. I have managed to find most rocks when trying to sleep in the canvas holiday inn. ain't nothin quite like having to pee at 3am and try to get back in that bag! I don't think I'd mentioned feagle's name, but I would get HIM to buy bags at a discount!

Good evening all,

It was another sunny and warm day in SE Indiana with the temps near 80.  I washed the truck and cleaned gutters.  We did the housework today as well.  Wife has been under the weather, but is feeling better.  Watched the IRL race on line today.  Saw where Jeff Gordon won the NASCAR race.  Back to work tomorrow.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana
