Good morning from humid New England.

We are taking the kids to a baseball game this afternoon. It will be the boys first trip to a ballpark. I still remember my first trip. My parents took me to Fenway Park in 1967.

Funny thing happened yesterday. I was running the Marx train and it kept stopping right in front of the station all by itself, and then wouldn't turn back on. This happened 5 or six times before it dawned on me. The must have been paint on the tracks from the other night's ballast painting session. There was. It now runs past the station every time.

Roy, sorry to see that you are selling all of your trains to fix your house in Texas.  Big Smile [:D]  It took me awhile to figure out the real seller of this train collection, but then it dawned on me that the only one who really needed the money, with a house falling down and a teenager, was you.

Chuck, a few small limbs down in our yard, but nothing significant in this part of town.  It is amazing, even in the high winds, that the Garden Railroad is not affected.

For those of us using Road Runner, they are sending out a message to us in Central Ohio on a speed increase.  Real simple and videos are loaded faster.

Speaking of trains has anybody ridden the East Broad Top lately?

Chief, could you send me a new fishing rod?  Since you own Bass Pro it is the least you can do for a buddy of yours.

fifedog, do you have any Snickers Pie left?  Don't waste it.  Good points about SCHNEIDER MODEL RAILROADING.

Doug, I give up.  How do you work video for a funeral?  Do you get interviews from the deceased?

Sir james, that lightning is not fun.

LAZ, we only have 9 residences in Roger's Corners now since they closed that one house where all those pretty women lived.  Never saw them go out much but they had a bunch of visitors stopping by at all hours. Laugh [(-D] The bait and gun store are still going strong as well as O'Grady's Tavern.  The town marshall has been busy of late catching skinny dippers in the quarry.

I think this is the last pure 'Pixar' film.  It will be interesting to see what happens now that Disney owns Pixar.  Until now, I said, 'It's Pixar...just buy the DVD', now I'll rent the movie to see how good it is.  Let's see if Brad Bird (director of Nemo, Incredibles, and Cars) is still around.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear, calm 65 degrees. Going up to 82, today, with sunshine. Last night, we got some rain and mild thunder. The worst of the big Columbus storm passed over, north of us. We were lucky.

Today, I am going to do a few things outside. If the grass dries out enough, I will mow the back yard. Got all the rest done. I'd like to spend some time outside, enjoying the nice weather. I need to do some serious trimmimg also.

I hope all is well with the folks at Roger's Corners.

Dining car is here and ready for breakfast. Later.

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Jim,

The train set in the Mr Bean film was probly 'LGB gauge 1' 45mm track used widely in garden and live steam narrow gauge (16mm=1ft) railways over here. I haven't seen the film, unless they show up on ordinary TV, I don't really have time.

Gas $2.55 here in MILLERSBURG, Pa.  And starting this week it will be a week long celebration of being 200 years old.  HAPPY 200th BIRTHDAY MILLERSBURG.  Maybe gas will come down lower?

JIM,  thats the way I've done it forever.  Good way to teach the kidos how to stack wood.  Takes about two days to cut and take it upstairs in the shop.  1 day to get it up there and another day to restack it, cause they always screw it up.  7th and 8th graders know more then anyone else?

Buckeye, glad to hear you are okay - hope Chuck is back online soon and all is well for all the OTTS guys.  Any word frm Keith or Tom anybody?

Doug Murphy, I wish you'd open the dam and let some rain come down to St. Louis, we've been too dry for too long.  I think some of my lawn actually died.  Had rain last night, but too much too fast and then that was it.  Enough so I'll have to mow tomorrow though.  Went to my buddy's house and checked out the patio - stil there, guess we did something right.

Kurt - Ratatouie looks great, I'm sure we'll get the Dvd.

RT - good cartoon!

Buckeye - a bunch of folks at work are using satellite radio, I think it's mostly the XM type.

Mike, glad the truck wasn't more $$$!

Hey guys - copper pipe was cheaper than last time by about 30 percent!  Also, just filled up the van for $2.59/gal.  Went to see the new Mr. Bean's Holiday, which was pretty hilarious, though it was a little slow in the middle.  Good movie for us grown up kids and the little kids as well.  At the beginning, there is a kid playing with a toy train layout - looked bigger than  O gauge - maybe the size of Standard gauge?  John B, Nick, any ideas on what set that was?  Then, Bean goes to Paris in a train - Eurostar?

88 - sounds like a nice trip!

Fifedog - I think you are right, that model locomotive and the two cars are really cool, but if it was O31, O36, or even up to O54, I think they would have sold more.  They say there are only a few left for sale, though...

Laz,
Susan wasn't feeling well this morning so we almost didn't make it.  Since it was an 'impulse' trip I didn't have much heads up... have to exchange numbers so next time I can call if we are in the area...

.... Bimmer update ....

Mechanic balanced a wheel this morning - that was all he did - no charge.  We picked up the car before the 'trip' and on the way home it started acting up again... so when I got home I checked the spare and it is a full-sized spare, so I put that on the position the mechanic said he balanced.  Will run it for a few days to see if this is the problem.  If it is I'll take the car to the tire place and see if this is the bent rim, if it is then I'll have them put this tire on the spare rim, and then I'll get a new rim... if it is not the bent rim then they will be ordering a new tire...

Wife's Bimmer needs new tires too.  They are feathered and today I hit a pot-hole and put a hole in the tread... she wasn't too happy about that... told her I'll pick up the bill... so now have to find her tires... tirerack here I come...

It was real ugly in Roger's corners.  The airport, which just south of us spotted funnel clouds.  Trees are down and the power is out in about one-half of the city.  The sky was looking real bad but it only lasted for maybe ten minutes.

Last night was our big Block Party, the ninth annual.  I always set up the Garden RR and of course many of the neighbors head to the back to take a peek at what is new and different on the railroad.

For music this year, we used the feed through my computer from XM satellite radio. I believe the station is called "THE BLEND".  The computer is then attached to an amplifier which in turns powered four wireless speakers outside the house.  Easy and cheap if you have satellite radio.

I hope I can catch up on the news on the pot tomorrow.

Good evening everybody,

It was hot and humid today in SE Indiana with the temps in the 80s.  I reffed two soccer games today.  Both were blowouts as one was 7-0 and the other was 8-0.  Picked up the truck from the mechanic as well.  Bill was less than $500, so it was not too bad.  Did some housework and mowed down some tall weeds that were growing in what was once our garden patch.  Welcome to all the new members on the pot!  You will find this to be a friendly place where we talk about GRITS, north vs south, Corvairs, and on rare occasions, trains.  There are some wonderful guys and gals who are very supportive of one another.  For all those affected by the storms, I hope everybody gets everything fixed in a hurry.  Brent, you said you were in Lititz.  The NTN-BCA plant there was a sister plant to one where I used to work before it closed.  I never did get to go there, but I still know some people there.   That is pretty country as I have been to Strasburg a few times.

I see where Danica is starting second tomorrow for the IRL road race.  I wonder how many she will take out on the start?!?!  Manning, Sarah and IV are in the back....again.  I also see where Scott Speed's replacement at STR is not exactly setting the world on fire in F-1.  Hmmm, maybe it was not the driver that needed replacing.

I had waffles and bacon on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

$2.45 here, Doug. Sorry to here you're in gas stickup land.

96 degrees and very humid here. How humid is it? I tried spraying gloss clear coat and it dries flat. We went to the pool for a few hours, then headed home to the AC. The kids and I ran Thomas on the inner loop and the Santa Fes on the outer loop. Wifey got called in to do an emergency hip surgery, but she's home now. Cha ching! So now we are all here together experiencing a semi-quiet night, save for the constant bickering and whining between 3 siblings who must all sit together in one little clump and aggravate each other on a huge sectional sofa.

Have a great evening eveyone. Stay safe, my Ohio Toy Train Society brothers!!!

Back from the funeral. Everything went well - I made extra DVDs of the service for the grandparents. Prez of Com Ed came too which was classy. They ran their big trucks in the caravan to the cemetary.

Dennis - sure glad I left early yesterday - thanks for permission.
Kurt- the corn is higher than an elephants eye here with all our the rain. Mostly feed corn though around here.
Roy - the IRM webcams sure look scary - lots of standing water in their low-spots - all the equipment is OK. Check them out at http://www.irm.org/
Skyray - another Doug is always welcome here - I am also glad you are back. Just musing...Skyray was my favorite 'model' Navy jet - did you fly it?
Sir James - I'm sorry for the loss of your electronics. I'm glad that 'ol antenna was grounded.
Jim A - $2.50, $2.69 a gallon? Try $3.05 here - ridiculous!
RT - congrats on your job.

Just watching a few run-through NS engines heading east from Janesville on a long UP freight. Rare sight on "my" line. Gotta go feed the youngest.
