Chief:  I thought you work for BPS corporate..Sorry about the assumption.

Sir James:  Glad things are getting back to normal.  Holler if you need anything.  We're just up the road.

Saw Ratatouie today with lovely Wife and oldest daughter.  One of Pixar's best!  I especially liked the nod to Citizen Kane at the end.

Cleaned 1-bag of corn today $10.20 (70-ears).  Into the freezer it goes.  Last year I remember 60-ears per bag.  How's the corn out east?  I think y'all had a bit more rain this summer than we did.

Afternoon all,      thank you my friends, for your kind words, I was really out of it last nite. It didn't take long to find the items that were fried. I could not get through to Allstate until 2pm today. I considered the ac in the house as an emergency and called for an electrictrion. We have almost everything on(plugs, lights, ect.)but a patchwork system until the insurance co can see whats wrong and hopefully approve repairs. he said if he made the permanent fix they might try to say it was never out. I believe that CB antenna may have saved the house from fire as I had it grounded and I think that was the lightning path like a lightning rod.

                                                THANKS TO ALL,   Sir James

Ahh I remember when the bass fishing used to be good up here. FDR park was great used to pull big ones 3 to 4 pounders on a bad day. But past couple of years been having a problem with algae and duck weed the lures keep getting gunked up. And some idiot dumped snakehead fish in the ponds. They put up a fight but the push out the native fish.

Afternoon all.  Started early with a phone call for an emergency case.  A quick stop buy as case is done and once I enter my information into this computer, I am out of hear.  We are having a party this afternoon and I have yet to have breakfast.

Sir james, sorry about the lightning strike.  We have a lot of bad thunderstorms in these parts and have most of our stuff with surge protection.

Hope everyone has a great day.  If they leave me alone, I have some trees to cut and grass to cut after the party.

God Bless,

Dennis

In the recent issue of CTT (sorry, I know some of you are still waiting...Tunesia, Uzbekistan, Cape Horn, Roseyville), the product reviews covered SCHNEIDER MODEL RAILROADING and it's Frontier-era 4-4-0.  WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!!!  $1,399.95 for a locomotive that won't maneuver on curvature UNDER O-64...  And BK confirmed this when the test engine wanted to walk off of O-54.  SPANKY, you run a lot of early American steam engines, how many of these little gems do you have on order...?  And for you DCS/TRAINMASTER doodles, the engine itself is not upgradable.  You get to purchase a sound and control boxcar (electronics not included) for $299.95.  I can appreciate the niche market that SCHNEIDER is chasing but haven't we seen this movie before...RIGHT-OF-WAY Industries...?

Discussion...?

RT, Glad to hear you have joined the ranks of the working.  Hope it turns into a full time job.  A lot of companies prefer to hire through a staffing company.  If they like your performance they can hire you direct and if not they can let you got without any unemployment liability.

I see we are once again fighting the War of Northern Aggression!

Sure has been a rough week for a lot of the Mid-West and Northeast.  We got some rain but no flooding.  Hope all on the forum came out OK.

Take care,

You're doing the good work, Doug and that beats trains in the looong run.

JBaker - Now you know how, you need to post the big pictures for some of the older guys (and me)!

Stayed up too late watching a tivo of Terror Train (hey!  It's a steamer!)  It was okay, but not really scary.  Need to get a ton of stuff done today but can't get started...  Have an awards ceremony tomorrow for daughter/scouts.  Tonight, we're going to see the new Bean movie.  So, really, today is my only time to put in a couple light fixtures I have left to do and maybe put up some more insulation.  We got a bunch of rain yesterday - will mow tomorrow after scouts.

Chuck - filled up for $2.69 yesterday.  Good luck at the hardware store.  I need some more copper pipe which is about the same price as gold Sad [:(]

I think I have an idea for a new track plan for my little corner in the basement, but I suspect it would be smarter to finish the surrounding walls.  I'm going for a wrap around layout in about an 8 by 10 ft area with a duck under section.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

A quick hello from a sunny and humid Crystal Lake where it is nice to see daylight after weeks of rain. I'm glad I was at the church early this morning because Com Ed showed up with two of their biggest trucks to raise the booms in a sort of salute during today's funeral of one of their men (and a friend of ours) who died in an accident earlier this week. I signed for all sorts of flowers and catering for two hours (!) before anyone official from the church showed up. I had them park the trucks on either side of the entrance with the buckets overhead. They look cool. I'm going over early to wash 'em or at least clean the visible sides. The bride bought another hamster and cage condo yesterday - that's three. Sigh. Off to church - expect 500-600. I'm also working video for the funeral and I'm working again tomorrow morn for the services. When will I get to run the trolleys?

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny 70 degrees. Going up to 88 today, with a chance of late afternoon thundershowers.

Today, I have a few errands to run. Need to pick up a few things at the hardware store. Then, I will catch up on my " Honey Do" list for an hour or so. Plan to spend the remainer of the day taking it easy. I ran trains yesterday, for 2 hours. Cleaned and lubed to GG-1. That engine sure looks good going over the blue steel bridge.

NASCAR race tonite from Bristol Speedway. Go # 20  Smoke.

Dining car has arrived and it's All Aboard. Breakfast.

Y'all have a great Saturday.

Good morning, everyone.

Got some much needed sleep last night. Gonna be a hot one here today with temps in the 90's. A good day to get my chores done early and then run some trains down in the cool basement.

Gas is $2.67 here, but only one town over, it's $2.50. So guess where I'm going for gas...

The wife was home last night and we all had a nice time eating pizza and watching tv. Somehow her and Julia managed to talk me into giving them foot massages. The things I do for my honeys!

I'll post photos of my New Haven repainted box car later. Prepare to be impressed!!!! Wink [;)]

Jim A - are you working with the "print your own" decal paper from Micromark? Where are you getting the graphics to print the logos like the B&M logo?

Yes I am, Roy. And I can't say enough good things about these products. You literally cannot tell they are decals once on the model. I haven't clear coated over them yet since applying them, and they look like they were printed onto the side of the car. I make all my own graphics using Adobe Illustrator. But many people use scans or art found on the web.

Sir James:  Sorry about the TV, and PS...Glad it wasn't a train transformer!  We don't watch much TV...You're welcome here to get a fix.  You may be forced to watch cooking or kids shows.

Went to Cabela's yesterday for some Bass tackle.  Sorry Chief, BPS is over an houur away, Cabela's is 15-min.  Found a great salesman, that helped me out of $50, but all around tackle top water bait,  garlic flavored plastic worms?, chatter bait, line, etc.  Said I should be able to catch something!  He explained presentation of each bait, and how to Texas rig.  First time Bass fishing, grew-up with Perch, and Walleye.  Fishing for Bass is completely different.

No storm damage here.  We did get a lot of rain.    Again.

Mornin' Mitchie!  I'm in the middle of dayshift,so 5 o'clock rising is standard.  Plus, with school starting Monday, it's best to keep on schedule.  Plus, got to bed before 10 last night.  That might explain the P & V.

Morning to All.

Fresh pot is made.  We are headed to DC this afternoon to take our son another carload of stuff.  We will meet him at BIL and SIL's house. He is taking the metro there to help BIL move some furniture today.  As soon as the dew is off of hte grasss I have got to mow.  The rain we have had this last week has set the grass to growing like crazy.

Fifey = I see you are up to your usual antics and full of vinegar this AM. You're up mighty early this Saturday AM what's the special occasion?

RT - glad you found work. Hope you like it and can get hired on permanently soon.

Sir James -  That lightning is nasty stuff. We lost a TV, DVD player, Computer, Cable Modem, etc. last August.  Worse than that was dealing with the insurance company.  I swear the claims rep had caller id and would put me in voice mail just so she didn't have to talk to me. I was persistent and they finally paid for a replacement computer. (I have replacement cost rider on my policy, a few $$ extra per year but worth it when you have a problem)

Have a great day.

Jim,

Brady got four months porridge for the speeding, lost his job as salesman at the Porche dealer he took the car from and is awaiting sentence for the offence of agravated vehicle theft.Hey ! after two years I've finally managed to upload a pic. Thanks Jim.          This is my local boozer, The Armoury just across the road from my flat. It is next to the local Territorial Army barracks which was originally the home of the Cheshire Regiment, after four hundred years is no more due to mergers and retrenchments. The grassed area is on a bridge over the West coast main line from Manchester to London.

A dull morning in Stockport with sunshine promised later.

Local hooligans (footy team) are at home today, so I am staying in downloading VCRs to DVD, amazing how many you find you don't need when faced with this task.

Have a good weekend all.
