Hi Folks, I haven't read all the post tonite so no replys.

My luck ran out this afternoon. Lightning hit my 30 year old CB antenna after being there all these years.... the TV is fried,it wasn't on but plugged in.The entire house circuit that tv was on is open spent two hours looking for an open plug with no luck.Have to find electrician tomorrow.playstation2,goner, garage door opener wont work,on a good circuit.probably shot.theres more but thats the sugar coated version.this thing works because I unplugged it from the line and ac before the storm hit. right now a broken train seems so simple.

I hope I didn't bore you just needed to talk to someone.    Sir james

Happy Birthday JLC! Wow, we got a ton of rain, then the highway shut down due to a burst water main - I guess the sudden cool down did it!  What a mess.  It took me 2 hours to get home, which included stopping at White Castle to pick up dinner for the family.  Usually takes about 20 to 25 minutes to get home.

Read this at work today, hope TMCC Man and 88 and the rest of you car guys get a kick out of it:

A motorist has pleaded guilty to driving at 172mph on a rural A-road, making him the fastest speeder ever caught in Britain.

Tim Brady, 33, was caught in a random speed check on the A420 near Abingdon, Oxfordshire, driving a ?98,000 3.6-litre Porsche 911 Turbo in January this year.

The current highest speed to result in a conviction is 156mph.

In a short appearance at Oxford Crown Court, Brady pleaded guilty to one count of dangerous driving.

His plea of not guilty to one count of aggravated vehicle-taking was accepted by the Crown Prosecution Service and he will be sentenced next month.

Brady, of Harrow, north-west London, resigned from his job at car lease firm Helphire at its Abingdon branch days after police stopped him in the car.

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Hey, I just got done decalling my New Haven boxcar. I used my new batch of film from Micro-Mark. All I can say is WOW! These are awesome! Super thin, they are literally invisible once put on the car. I wish I used these for my B&M boxcar. I'm very, very pleased! Time to re-do that B&M.

Have a good evening everyone.

Hey Chief

17 cars derail in Bulls gap
Seventeen Norfolk Southern rail cars derailed on Highway 66 near Beech Grove in Bulls Gap this afternoon. The 106-car, two-locomotive train was traveling east from Williamsburg, W.V. to Spencer, N.C. according to Susan Tarpay of Norfolk Southern. Fire and HAZMAT were called to the scene, however no hazardous materials were in the rail cars. The 17 rail cars were directly behind the engines. The first 16 were hauling crushed limestone and the 17th car was carrying coal, as were as the remaining cars. The train was on a siding of the tracks near Beech Grove Road to allow other trains to pass. The derailing of the train will not effect other trains from passing through the area, however Beech Grove Road is temporarily closed. Hawkins County dispatchers said motorists should use caution while traveling on Highway 66. A crew, that will place the rail cars on the tracks is expected to arrive in the area between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., said Tarpay. It is not known how long the process will take. The remaining 89 rail cars will also be pulled from the derailed cars. Authorities said the reason why the train derailed is not yet known. An investigation will be conducted. No one was injured, said Tarpay.

Not to much else happening talk to you all later

RT, sometimes, they pay the same or a little better, the company pays higher to the staffing firm.  I once worked for a professional staffing firm, made $3.00 per hour higher than the company had advertised for.  If you check the classifieds for the position you are filling, you may find it as often they do both, advertise for the position and submit it to a staffing firm.  They would rather get you directly for the trial/probationary period as still little to no benefits and they don't pay the firm.

Good luck in your position.

Well, we had a gully washer here for a time.  Was getting ready to start a case and looked out the windows, heavy wind and rain going sideways.  lasted a short time and now the sun is out.  Not sure what the temp is outside, but inside here, it is the usual 52 degrees.

Y'all have a great weekend.

Prayers to the folks affected by the bad weather.  My wife's friend lives in Findlay, OH, hear they got hit pretty hard.  Also, remember the big prayers for our troops on the front lines.

Red, found it is better to assymilate to the south when you live here.  I have become less type "A" and more relaxed and overall, a better person, I think anyway.  Lots of good folk down this way and very personable.  The only thing I miss from Yankeeland is the train stores and some good food that otherwise I have to make.

Doug (Chicago), you may want to call it an early day and head home.  The weather channel is predicting some heavy storm activity around the rush hour(s).  Hope you get home safely and have a good weekend.

I have every intention of getting some layout work done tonight.  But, like the best of plans, I am on call and at the mercy of the patients.

Y'all have a great weekend,  and don't spend too much time on Laz's bike!

Thanks for both the offer and the compliment.  The class was 1957.  And all I know about it was I got an email from "Classmates" that told me they were having one.  When I tried to go to their web site and find out about it, all I got was a king size ration of sales pitch, but no information.  I dated Anne Belew in high school, her best friend was Brenda Ramage, and Bill Pitt and Bill Pittman are the only other names I remember.  I haven't seen or heard from Anne since I joined the Marines in early 1960 and the others since 1957.  Not a big thing, and I probably am not coming back for the reunion; my time there was not particularly happy.  I was just wondering what happened to some of the people I haven't seen in fifty years.

They some how get list of names and schools and send out emails trying to get you to join all you really need to do is contact the school if still there or some old freinds that are still in the area and you can get ahold of who is running it

Figured I'd spend 4 or 5 bucks in a lot of those cities down there, mostly just to help out their economy !! Though now, with The Chief not being so hospitable, I just may not go down there & throw all that big money away !! I may just stick to hitch hiking around Ohizo now !! Laugh [(-D] Well there goes all my plans on compiling a good Dumpster survey now, too !! Laugh [(-D] Yeah, & all cause the Chief don't want to get along with his friendly neighbors from the Nawth !! Laugh [(-D] Banged Head [banghead]

Well, almost time for work again & will be working tomorrow too !!  More train show moola !! (I hope !! )

Thanks, John

Doug, Give me some info about the reunion and I'll see what I can do for you.  I assume your of the class of 2000 or 2001?
