Thanks Dave for the link to Winona, MN. Winona is probably one of the most beautiful towns on the Great River Road, it's a place I would like to live. When I came through southern MN last Saturday I was involved with a rain storm so hard I couldn't see 10 feet, even the truckers were slowing down. Ft. Dodge IA (north of us 60 miles) was featured on NBC this morning, there situation is dire, just as it is in Ohio. As I'm typing this it's raining hard again with no relief in sight.

I think it's Al Gores fault, darn him. I'm actually going to go run trains as there's no possibility of being outside for the next few hours.

Lee,  You actually can get a $500.00 shower curtain.  One of the nurses on the heart team had one made.  Of course that was around the time her husband was caught planting seed in someone else's garden and they are now divorced.  Maybe some payback, I don't know.  But I do know that a $500 shower curtain can be had, just like the person who buys one.

PhilaKnight, you may want to check with Ma&Pa junction or Hollash's trains, both have web sites and deal a lot with Williams.  I have used Hollash, but not Ma&Pa.  Both are reputable.  Good Luck and congratulations.

Hey, what is that noise outside and those flashes of light?  It does seem cooler, and the ground is all shiney.Confused [%-)]  Chief, I may be mistaken, but a long time ago, we had similar circumstances and they called it RAIN! It has been a great rain, started last night and has steadily rained since.  Not the heavy stuff that floods, but the nice soaking rain that really helps.  Glad He still answers prayers!

Getting ready to head in.  One of the Manufacturing reps is coming by today with some new equipment.  I have to hand it to the administration at our hospital, when it comes to the latest, best equipment, we ask....they deliver.

Been checking out the new CTT.  I have checked several of the die cast car companies, wow!, what a difference in pricing.  While some nice usable cars run in the 3-5 dollar range, some of the special cranes run in the $1000.00 plus category.  I think I have enough fire trucks and convertibles, perhaps some construction vehicles and some hard top cars from the 30s and 40s.

Have a blessed day.

Hope you guys in Ohio aren't too flooded. I ran a photo yesterday showing flooding in Winona, Minnesota (don't think there's anyone on the forum from that area). The 2nd slide shows a house that floated away and parked itself on some railroad tracks

I just ran off a new decal sheet and it came out of the printer beautifully! Couldn't be happier with the results. I'm only sorry that I didn't use this brand when I did up my B&M boxcar.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a clear, sunny 65 degrees. Going up to 92 today. Hot. More sunshine is in the forecast. I sure hope so.

Today, I will be outside, mowing the grass. That is, as long as the weather holds. I need to get this done before we get any more rain. I don't think I will be running trains today, but I am feeling the need for it. Maybe, later, if it gets too hot. I will be busy in the train room this winter.

Good ballgame last night. Indians finally beat Detroit. 11 to 8.

Dining Car is here and well stocked. Rolled in from " points west ". I think I will order something tasty. Time for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Good morning all,

It is hot and humid again in SE Indiana with temps and humidity both in the 90s.  Did way too much last night.  My wife invited my dad over for supper and so had a big meal.  She also wanted to go to a movie and so I went to the YMCA to do weights.  Overate, over-exercised and oversat during the movie.  Came home and was so miserable I slept in the chair all night.  Would have stayed home today, but have too much to do at work and some conference calls to make as well.  Also, (and this is the real reason) "my" soccer girls are playing tonight at home, and I will not miss one of their home games.  I was still so full this morning that I just had cereal, no toast, so the dining car is kind of heavy heading to "Points East".  I hope everyone (especially my soccer teams) have a good day.

PS  Brent, I hope you get the results you are looking for.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good morning from New England.

Last night I finally finished up a project I started a few months back and never got around to working on. The entire layout's FasTrack roadbed is now all painted. It feels great to get something finished. After that, I repaired a pair of post war crane cars and called it a night.

I received my order of decal film yesterday from Micro-Mark. Will try printing some decals today.

Highpoint, NC...I used to freelance a lot of business with the furniture makers down there.

Off to peruse eBay in search of the next must-have.  I love my 2343 so much, I'm thinking about getting a set of 2344s.

Only the Scots could ceremoniously pipe in a stomach full of sheep guts and oats.  No wonder the single malt consumption is so high.  Nothing like a good smoky single malt to make you not care what's in the entree.  We eat black eyed peas and hog jowl around here on New Year's Eve, and Bobby Burns doesn't get celebrated much.  Actually, I guess I am a little mistaken, we eat the peas and hog meat on New Year's Day.  Getting hard to find hog jowl in this urban area; a couple of years ago we had to special order it.

Well, it looks like you guys are as low drag and high speed as ever.  Way back in the queue John asked if I had logged on since they changed the software, and the answer to that is yes.  It took several days and about five emails to that nice lady Michelle at trains magazine technical, but I finally got on.  This time I got on by myself, all I had to do was alter my firewall a little bit.

Lion, Still sunny here in Stockport, 20C=78F Add or subtract 1.8F for every 1C change, works as long as you are above fereezing point.

Found out where I was going wrong, MS has two download systems; Microsoft and Windows, do not use Windows Download Centre for XP or ERNI gets the colliwobbles. Get MS and it puts everything right. Sorry if I'm telling Granny how to suck eggs.

Haggus Dennis, I think you mean that well known Scottish delicacy HAGGIS, consists of sheep offal; heart lung, liver, kidney etc. with oats and spices enclosed in the sheeps stomach, served with neeps and tatties (boiled-mashed turnip and potatos). This is served up on New Years Eve and on Burns Night with great ceremony (Bagpipes) when the whole repulsive dish is piped into the gathering. Its only salvation to me is that vast quantities of single malt are to be consumed and the resulting stupor takes away the taste. This is me with Scottish family connections. Thank goodness none of them read this thread. I notice from the posts you guys eat a hell of a lot of sweet stuff, perhaps that's the reason you need big seats on th airoplanes, although there is a genetic tendency for the human frame to get larger (I wonder if given time we begin to get to the size of a Bronto) makes one think dosn't it?

Some swine donged my little car yesterday! Looks like another couple of hundred quid up the spout, I'll never get the Ashlar and Spen Valley RR running.

Going to the local hospital in the next hour to see Mr Baguenid about the vascular degeneration in my left leg, it's not too bad at present, I just feel the cold and have difficulty walking more than a mile or so. (Thinks; Stop moaning Fatty! At 68, your OK).

Big project running; putting all my audio and video on to disc, a job I've been putting off for far too long.

Time to shut up! been rambling on for long enough.

Have a nice day every one.

She's starting her 7th month so we found out it's a girl so it's kinda good. Now I have the reason to buy that girls train. Been looking at the Williams set can't afford a true Lionel. The littlie guy does'nt talk yet it's it kinda hard to say every train I bring home is the one he wanted. All he does is point and go "Woo-Woo"

I have been checking around the house and don't see anything new so it's kinda scarey that she made the suggestion of going to the train shop. Unless she's waiting till Sunday to pop it up about the new furniture the baby girl is gonna need.
