Morning all.

Not much happening, staying indoors until it will be time to go p/u prescriptions. Second day in a row for running the AC, yesterday it hit 99* and they said it will be hotter today. This is one time I hope to hell they are wrong. Looking forward to winter, at least you can dress for winter w/o embarassing yourself or anybdy else. Smile, Wink & Grin

Had my tele-med visit this morning, now I am cleared for my cataract surgery next Monday. Will need to pass another Covid-19 test sometime this week so the procedure can move forward. One approval down one more to go. Bang Head

Later gator !

Evenin' boys.  Sunny & 96.  No humidity in the mountains; sorry.  Just got back from visiting folks.  I did fish a little, and caught 3; also little.  Stopped off at the DQ for dinner, on the go.

WV Gov ordering facemasks in buildings for a little bit.  Seems lots of folks are returning from the shore with more than sunburns.  Oh well.

anjdevil - What size are those cats?  Bengal tigers?

Dougnotta - Study up for that test.

Banks - Speaking of test, how'd you make out?

Roy - Roundy-round was a good one, but MAN were they smacking the walls BIG TIME!

Hello there. Should be sleeping but wide awake.

Had a great 4th. A late afternoon picnic. We had wings, tenders, French fries, cheese sticks tater salad, macaroni salad pickled eggs, deviled eggs and lots of desserts. Afterward there were fireworks, ours and all around the neighborhood.

Weather has been hot and dry. We are I serious need of rain. Hay fields cut over a month ago look like they were cut yesterday. We did get some decent 2and cutting hay off the early cut fields but only about half of what it should have been.
On the plus side son found people looking for hay. Fields he cut and left lay last year for lack of a buyer (part of his agreement with owner fields must be cut) have been cut, baled and hauled away. There's still about 30 bales we're going to keep in case we don't get any more.

Best try to sleep. Lung doc appointment in the morning. Cardio doc says heart is fine. Gonna press lung doc about why I can't breathe.

Prayers for those in need and the end of this pandemic.

Well after 24 hours with two of the grandkids I slept hard last night.

Crazy hot here for us. The creek is dry and that is way to early. The corn grew 2' in two days with this heat. Was waist high on the 4th now it is over your head. Neighbor down the road looks like he is ready to do his wheat.

Talked to the boy yesterday and they are going to miss the party on Saturday because the grandaughter is showing on her horse this week and weekend.

Not much else but trying to stay cool.

DougDG, good luck on the test and the surgery.

Banks, hope the breathing thing is just the heat!

Morning folks!

Hot and hoomid...tolerable...

Still doing little projects around the abode. Taking things easy. Getting geared up to start some work on the El Camino. Small pile of new parts to install. Found a new dash unit (old one totally cracked, trashed from sun beyond recovery) on line. Pricey. Also have to have the windshield replaced. Thinking replace the dash with windshield out.

Home. Sweated out real good. Glad I took backpack sprayer [we have 4 wheeler with big tank sprayer on the back]. Had to spray around the campers and barn. Then big packhouse. Then parking area at deep woods.

Got delayed birthday present from Buckeye.  ;)

Roy, send El Camino to Don.  He will get it fixed cheap.  :P

86 and 71% humidity. Where is the rain guessed?

Shower now.

Mornin' boys.  Foggy & 68, with scattered Lightning along the Alleghany front range.  Will head into work in a bit, for some much needed MOW.  I'll be workin' on my tractor tan. Cowboy

Yesterday was shopping day, and it seemed like we were out forever.  Came home to homemade steak subs.  Then I "planted" Wifey's new birdie houses, after we butted heads over their location (she won).

Did spend time in the train room.  Worked on the terrain around the stockyard, added lumber stacks to the tie plant siding, and even ran trains for fifeMax during a passing Lightning.

Morning all

Waiting for the guys to show up to add more insulation in the attic. This house is 50 years old and may have insulation almost as old. and only about 6", having them taking it up to 16"

Well, about an hour and a half ago I got stopped as the insulation guys showed up. Now we will see how much it helps with the use of the HVAC system and electric bill.

Train wise I bought 6-18221 (5512 ) & 6-18222 (5517) D&RG SD-50 both with dual motors, TMCC, & Railsounds. Black with gold trim

DonB, Looks like that little bar and grill we had lunch at Sandi's has become a victum of COVID-19. I drove by there yesterday and the place looks empty and closed up. Crying Looked on their Facebook page and they say maybe they can open in Aug but even the signs are gone from the windows now? I will miss that place. They had good food.

Shed is all cleaned out and washed ready for the birthday party on Sat. Cake Smile

Wow, I thought you guys voted me off the island!  Then I started to root around, and noticed no one had signed on to any threads for over 15 hours.  A check with the Model Railroader forum, and I discovered multiple lock-out problems, especially with Google Chrome.

Remedy, is to clear browser history, then you should be able to log back in.  I'm using Edge (which just updated...).

81/93 for today.

No breeze at all hard to breath. A stray shower finally found us yesterday afternoon. Not near enough but some. We have been staying home and staying in except for the yard work and sitting on the porch in the evening.

Fife, didn't work.  Had to run "cleaner" and then got in.

84 and 79% humidity.  No rain that the guessers promised we would get.  So, start watering.

Produce box delivery tomorrow early.

Have a good one.

Good Morning,

Only took me 3 days to get signed in.  Thanks, Fife

Some progress on the El Camino, right front wheel has been repaired and ready to go, the hood and radiator bracket is on Back Order, and due in next week.  So it goes!  At least something done!

Roy, I'm sure you are aware of it, but a Dash Pad cover is available (carpet type material, lays on top of the dashboard).  I've had one for years, looks pretty good and inexpensive.  One guy here will reupholster the dash.  But it runs $700-$800 !  Due to the labor to remove & replace, too much!

Lloyd want me to help him with "Shot Gun Kelly's" layout, but it is in San Diego, and too far to walk.  So either car pooling or no go.

Weather getting HOT here as well, and now we will have a bunch of fires, I'm sure.

Kev, sorry to hear about that bar closing, it definetely is a cool place.  Maybe they will be back!

I think the restrictions are going to be coming back soon!  Too many people falling to "Restriction Fatigue".

RT, You're a 100% correct, it would be a really dumb thing for me to make a trip up to Seatle at this time.  Especially with California plates!  So that is indefinetly postponed.

After not posting in practically a week, and still don't have very much to report on, I guess that could be a good thing too.

Well take care all!  And wish the best for you all!

Don

Another day in the oven of North Central IL. Cool  Mid 90s again and a chance of rain latter to help with the humidity. Ick!

Set off bug bombs in the shed last night for before the party and was happy to find only a few dead ones on the floor when I got up. Yes So I am all set. Been running the AC out there so who knows what the elect bill will look like come the end of the month! Surprise

BTW, No problems getting on with FireFox.

Best get.

Well like Fife and DonB - I was also kicked off the island. However, clearing cache and history multiple times on Chrome and Safari (two devices) produced no joy.

So cranked up Edge this am and voila! I'm baaaaaaaccccck!

Ceptin' Edge is showing this page as a tiny house view? Gotta work on zoom...

DonB - the dash is so badly cracked nothing would lay flat on it. The plastic/vinyl cracked all over and curved up at the cracks - the toasted plastic is razor sharp as I found out when I installed the inspection/license sticker earlier this year. I am planning on a new dash assembly. Just received an OPGI catalog in the mail with a BIG sale going on until Aug 31. Dash is now further discounted from present sale on-line at OPGI. So if I can get her inspection worthy again in the next couple of weeks, I will order the dash.

Gonna go into 100's starting tomorrow and with the hooooomidity the heat index will vary from 108 to 110 - helps keep the rif-raf out!

Regards, Roy

Roy thanks for the info. It wouldn't let me in thru chrome either.

well shed was to be here at 11 a.m. at 9:30 I decided to goto Hardee's. even thou they where running slow I still got out of there about 9:50 a.m. I'm heading to the house, 1 block to light, make right and 2 blocks to the house. I get about 1 block from the house and I see my shed coming about 3 blocks I see a pick-uo coming pulling a trailer with a shed on it, I go into oooooohhhhhh $#!% mode. I make the turn just before he gets to the turn and put the truck onder the parking cover. Talk about cutting it close.

Well it took him about a hour to get get it all installed and anchored down.

Otherwise not much happening, but the day is still early

Finished resurfacing the deck today, took three and a half cans of DB Polymeric finish, and the deck looks great!

on the other hand must have sweated off ten pounds! Drank three liter bottles of water and it never hit my bladder! Temp's up to 90 today, so humid you can cut it with a knife and spread it on a cracker!  Sore all over, I think the ibuprofen's finally kicking in.  Probably going to veg out tomorrow.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 73 along the Patterson Creek cut-off.  Would be perfect outside, if not for those little swarming bugs that insist on dive-bombing into ones eyelashes...

Well, the bear is back.  "Charlie" she named it.  Second night in a row, "Charlie" pulled down the bird feeders.  I'm gonna leave them down a few days.  I need to get the trailcam up and working again.

Took Youngest Princess to DMV down in Moorefield. WV.  She needed to re-up her learner's permit.  Drove around, showing her the stockyards, and the chicken plant (KFC affiliate).  Then we had an excellent lunch at a roadside BBQ joint.  I tried the "Hillbilly", consisting of a slender foot-long hotdog, cheese, pulled pork, and coleslaw.  It was yummy, and the service was great.  Best dining experience of 2020.

Buckeye - Outstanding facility.

Only 90 today. Air is heavy, hard to breath.

Fellers, a question, kinda. We use to visit Va. often. I always liked the BBQ that had a pink colored sauce. Can't find it here. I suspect it's a vinegar base. What THE HECK IS IT?

What if you were to mix in a bunch of cayenne pepper with the bird seed, it don't bother the birds but maybe Charlie will lose his desire to raid the bird feeder. Works with squirrels and other smaller critters, maybe with bears you'll need to add some chopped up ghost peppers.

Oh brother, there's more barbecue sauces down here than you can shake a stick at! Sweet, non-sweet, mild, medium, hot, "nuclear holocaust," you name it!  Most are vinegar based but then comes everything else that goes in it.  Add to that there's the fact as to what it goes on and what it's best with, pulled pork or beef brisket.

Personally, I prefer beef brisket, and in my opinion if the brisket's good it doesn't need anything else.  When I have the pulled pork if beef's not available I feel the same way.  But that's just me.

Delivered 225 produce boxes to low income trailer parks.  Hot and humid.  Did get a small shower yesterday afternoon as I finished watering back gardens.  Every little bit helps.

Resting up today.  Pickup taxes this afternoon late.  Getting big refund sort of.  A lot of what I paid in quarterly.  New CPA.  Charges more but does advisory for a year.  Does her job well.

Use the ground [not crushed pepper].  Works as they sniff it up their noses as well as burning their mouth.  Works good on deer too.

Later.

Afternoon all

Still can't get on with Chrome.Angry

93* feels like 99* with 49% humidity.

Well installed the A/C unit in the shed :)

Will probably run my electrical this weekend, so when I run a line out to the shed it's ready to be connected.

Got the loft moved from the one end to the other so I have 8' of loft space instead of two 4' sections.

A/c unit froze up again today. This unit is only 1 1/2 years old. there trying to figure out what is wrong. This is like the 2nd time in about a month.

Cooling off some right now after being out in that hot shed. Need to put some hooks up for different items, lawn tools, extension cords etc.
