38F right now and mostly cloudy...yeah, me too, done with the cold weather, need to break out the short sleeves, converitlbe and Road Star........
Long week of meetings over, I can sleep late tomorrow and get some stuff done in the attic/train room. My BIL has some left over insulation I'll be taking from him as well as a nice carpet for the rest of the attic. Getting very antsy to get a layout started. I think my LC+ Blue Comet will be the last engine for a while (need to get the associated passenger cars) as I think I'm around 40 or so engines. A VERY quick accounting showed at least 30 and I know I missed some.
I have enough Post War Sunoco tankers, both 2 and 3 dome, to have a unit train. I MAY have over done my train buying over the years.......nah, couldn't happen...
Joe D, BIG NJ Devils fan, big battle in Colombus on Saturday, we'll see what the outcome is....

Big SNOW storm was a bust for us, Only 4" so far. Fine with me.
Used both the truck and tractor. Tractor is great for trimming up. Truck is warm heading up and down the lane.
Did the lane and the neighbors came back inside.
No other plans for today.
Ha ha JimH!
Cloudy and headed to 69 today. Deep freeze returns tomorrow!
Spent the afternoon yesterday dealing with Medicare ins online and on the phone. Got it sorted out but took a couple of hours. Then worked on SS to prepare for filing in Oct at 66. Wanted to see if it made sense to file 6 months early but the penalty even for 6 months was too much considering what Medicare will pull from the check each month. That took a while as SS runs a year behind on reported income, so I had to enter my entire work history from late 60's until 2018 (projected) as I stopped working last year and their projection on your statement assumes you are working until the day I would turn 66 at my 2016 pay level. Their on line tools do not accept their own XML file of your pay history to simplify the process
From the news reports looks like Snowmagedden has started up nawth...
Regards, Roy
Good morning from lovely Brownsburg!! Skies are clear and sunny, expecting a high today of 75 degrees!! Now over to Rob with Sports!! lol! Well, another chilly day here. Stupid Groundhog.................. Have a great weekend all!
Good evening all,
Lousy day at work. Supposed to be good weather today but was windy and cold. At least drive in was better. Not much going on at home. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good evening,
I spent most of my work day in meetings again, but I was able to get home by 1715. I built the final piece of IKEA furniture that was in the house and I did not see any new boxes. I should be able to make significant progress on my comic book storage case this weekend. I just purchased hockey tickets for tomorrow night. My older son and I will watch the Capitals host the Blue Jackets. My son became a Blue Jackets fan when we lived in Dayton. I am an Oilers fan. It's time to relax now.
Good night,
Joe
wrmcclellan fifedog I think it's time for LIONEL to start cranking out spaceships once again. Did y'all catch the SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch? Those 2 booster rockets descending to their landing sites simultaneously was simply awesome!!! We have one of their labs nearby on the other side of Knobley. Yes that was awesome. What would really be awesome is them retrieving the Tesla roadster after it orbits the sun once....in a million years....?

i'm over being cold..........
I am with you Jim,
The snow totals are all over, from 4" to 8" to 8" to 14". I don't think they have a clue. But we are ready.
Dbaker, anjdevil, et al...thanks for checking in.
Buckeye - Nope. I'm about 15 minuted due south of Cumberland.
Kev same here local stations all have a different guess about total snow fall from this coming storm. What ever it is I don't want it.

Good morning,
9 degrees and light snow.
I have a collection of old single and double edge razors from my dad. I started with a double edge razor back in the day and I don’t think I want to go back to those no matter what that jerk from Pawn Stars would have you think in that TV add. All I remember is lots of cuts and nicks and TP pieces on my face.
The weather guessers are all over the map. Anywhere from 5” to 12” by Saturday night. Just depends on what TV station you have on. Really?
Cat is on second day of very little eating but seems to be okay some of the time. Since he has no cat box it is hard to tell what he is doing when he goes out.
Banks, I have seem many of those saws but never been near one in action. Still cool to have one. I think you can buy them new from Northern Tool still today.
Best get to it, whatever that is?
Good Morning from the NJ Devils Southern Command here in the shadow of Philadelphia...
New job in Marlton, NJ, more money, better future. So far so good. Great bunch here at the body shop and spent 2 weeks in FLA (JAX) for training. Like it.
Not much on the train front, need to complete my engine inventory, like seriously, now that the CNJ Blue Comet is about to enter the fleet - the new LC+ just came in and on layaway....just $300 more dollars and it comes home.
I do the Dollar Shave Club, I get blades every 2 months (I get 5 at a time) plus I get their shave butter which I like. I forget the cost, may $10-15 every other month.
Didn't watch the game, didn't care, had no dog in that fight, but it WAS nice to see my NJ Devils sweep the Flyers and the Pens last week...especially since I work in Flyers/Eagles/Phillies country.
Prayers for those in need, check back when I can..yup, still breathing...lol
Hello there,
hope the 3rd time is the charm. had post almost ready twice before and managed to lose them. once on phone, once on tablet.
Kinda doubt the buzz saw would meet OSHA standards. It's way older than OSHA. I first remember it when I was about 10 and it was old then. It was being used to cut paperwood and firewood as fields were expanded on my uncle's farm. With a sharp blade and enough RPM it will cut a 4" branch quicker than I can tell you about it. It take 3 people to run efficently. One to feed, one to saw and one to toke the wood away. For safety sake this was one job where kids were prohibited. It sat in the barn for many years. When I put a woodburner in my first house I rigged it to run off the Gravely because all the little tractors suited to it were gone. I went to the local saw mill. For $15 you could get all the slabwood you could pile on a pickup. Quit that when I put in coal boiler. Then 'bout 30 years ago Dad bought the Oliver (same model uncle had) and we dug it out again for occasional use.
After the rain started yesterday the sleet turned out to be a PIA to plow. I spent near 4 hours plowing and shoveling. Mostly plowing. Everything that was wet last evening is now a sheet of ice.
Got to get a ladder and finish the top of the tree and it's out the door. Gotta get everything organized and put away.
Best get to it. Later
Prayers for those in need

Good morning team CCT!
31 right now, sunny, thick coat o' frost on the roofs. Temps to moderate a bit for a few days and then another front this weekend. Next week might take us back to normal temps this time of year. Hope so. The cold is keeping me out of the garage/shop. Got stuff to do & I need a break from the throw out/cleanup of the house for a while.
Got air tics and hotel secured for York.
Have a great day all!
Good Evening,
Been awhile, but still around. The weather is still very unseasonably warm. 82, today! Spent some time outside doing chores, and then into the train room. Most recently have been putting in some roadways minor accessories. I have a half dozen traffic lights and want to get them installed. For the road bed, I've been using tar paper, it works well and certainly is inexpensive.
Have a dentist appt on Thursday, should be minor, I hope. Next week going to take Kay out to the mine where Chris is working. Should be an interesting trip.
I too am a fan of IKEA, do have to admit, EVERYTIME I go into the store I always come out with a few good ideas.
Well hope everyone stays healthy, and becareful of the ice.
Don
Please send some of your snow this way. We might have had some freezing rain overnight but by sunrise it was simply raining. However, this area is not used to inclement weather so last night the kids' schools announced a two-hour delay and then when I awoke at 0600 I had an email stating they cancelled school for the day. That is amazing to me. I was in meetings/briefings from 0900 to 1430 today; they were beneficial but draining none the less. I built an IKEA desk tonight for the princess's room; it was much heavier than I expected. I am finishing some wine now and going to bed.
Jim H. - Welcome to the Pot!
Jim Phish - Since IKEA caters to the European countires, they have to maximize the space.
Rob - I was just looking at those shave clubs as I am tired of paying crazy monedy for Excel Senor blades. Dollar seems to be a great option and I have heard great things about Harrys. I decided to buy a straight razor with disposable blades. I did not want to invest in a nice resuable straight razor until I see how I like it. I have used it twice and do enjoy it. There is a learning curve using a straight razor, but I do like the idea of beating death every time I shave.
KRM robmcc A question for you shavers: Do any of you get your blades from places like Harry's or the Dollar Shave Club? I've been weighing the pros and cons lately on wondering if it's worth it. As much as I like my blades from those fine folks in Boston (even if they're Patriots fans!!), it's certainly getting very pricey. Rob, Let us know what you find out. I too would like to know! Back in the days of working in the office I had to shave twice a day to be clean. But now days stubble face is in. They are pumping up the totals for the Thursday Friday snow thing now as up to 10". Bet they are wrong,,again.

I shave about once a week and that's with a electric shaver.
Evening all. Got to about 67 today. but 58 tomorrow but then warms up some for the weekend but calling for rain this weekend also.
Working on a 817 caboose and a 810 crane but need to get a few pieces sand blasted some where.
Not much else going on here. Hope all had a good day.
Slow drive to work today as I did not get over 45 MPH all the way in. Weather was much better for walk and drive home. Work was just busy enough to keep it interesting, but not overwhelming. I hope everyone has a good day.
Five inches of Ohio sunshine on the ground this morning. We were at a Level II weather emergency, but being the good employee I arrived at work only a few minutes late.
fife....Next week I'll be in Bexley, WV. I believe you are over near Cumberland, MD and not close to Bexley.
51 days.

Good Afternoon from wet 30°F Southern Ohio,
Been a little busier than usual, our local parishes are sponsoring a mission and is very good and well worth the time that I would be doing other things, and the other things will just have to wait. My bride still has the crud but finally went to the doctors and got some meds. The oldest girl who just passed the kidney stones is going into the flu now. So far the rest of us have avoided the bug.
The weather right now is variable, it will rain, then sleet, then snow and go back to rain within an hour. The cars are icing but so far the roads are OK. The kids had a regular school start. The forecast may have us getting a bunch of snow; I hope I don’t regret the decision not to get the scraper blade for the JD till next winter!
Joe – I like the IKEA stuff. They have a knack for putting a lot of function in a compact space, emphasis on function
Lunch break over. May God bless
Jim
Just checkin in.......20 degrees and cloudy.
Another lite snow this morning, about 3 inches.
I ordered my TCA York badge last night.
Banks, is that saw OSHA approved!!! Wicked for sure!
Chief, wifey just pumped him full of hairball treats. We will see.
Rainy and warm good morning. Not much on agenda but dogs to groomer this afternoon.
KEV, good luck with George.
Hope all have a good one.
Banks, Dad use to have one of those many years ago.
