Hello there,

Back from mass and breakfast done.  Monday I needed wood for when the fire gets low so I cut up the remaining tree top from last spring. Enjoyed a chat with Roy learning about lathes in the evening.

Roy........He's decided to concentrate on making the bike go faster for now

buzz saw 1

buzz saw 2

Tuesday I dealt with paperwork and helped Son get the heavy duty back blade dug out of the shed.

Today Mrs is snowed out. Hopefully some extra rest will help her kick the crud. Actually we have about 2" of sugar cosistancy sleet on the ground. Supposed to turn to snow later.

Jim Hornaday...Welcome...tell us more about yourself.

Taking down the tree is the goal for today.Best get to it

Prayers for those in need

Mornin' boys.  Dicey, and treacherously pretty in the Potomac Highlands.  Every tree coated with ice on the mountain.  Hope we don't lose power today.  No plans anyhow.  Represented the RR at City Hall last night at an appropriations hearing.

Drywall guy finished up yesterday, but Lowe's messed up our carpet order.  Stay tuned.  Fifey will be a paintin' somebody this coming week.

Morning,

Got about 1.5" of snow over night.  11 out there and will be -6 tonight with a winter storm watch that they are calling for 5" to 9" Thursday through Friday.

Worried about George the cat, he is acting out of it.

No plans.

Good evening,

It warmed up a bit today, but was windy again. We might get some freezing rain overnight so the kids' schools already sent an email stating they have a two-hour delay.  Apparently that is normal procedure in these parts.  I built another IKEA item after coming home from work and then enjoyed pork chops for dinner. I am not looking forward to work tomorrow as I have briefings all day.

Mike C. - We became IKEA fans years ago.  Yes, not much aesthetically, but definitely functional and practical.

Good night,

Joe

Good evening all,

Thought I wrote something last night, but I guess I did not hit the submit button.  Semi busy day at work.  As with Monday, weather was relatively good for walk.  Joe, IKEA makes really useful stuff.  The appearance could be more elaborate, but the functionality is great.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Roy, come on up!!!  -3 heading to 14. WOW it sure is better plowing snow in a warm truck than on a cold tractor. Big Smile Even if is does take longer at least your not freezing!

The big snow was not as big as they said but we did get about 5" so plenty enough to plow. The higher amounts were about 20 miles south of us. Going to be below freezing for at least the next 10 days. Tongue Tied

Good evening,

I had a busy day at work and then came home to more IKEA boxes in the garage. The wife loves that place. I built one of the items, a desk, and will do more tomorrow as I am beat. We had leftovers for dinner and then I helped the youngest will schoolwork. It is almost 2300 now and I am ready for bed.

Good night,

Joe

Yes Rob.  Sure is quite as if a game was not played.  Funny to me.  Still no mention on the rifle forum.  The Pats guys have now gotten on but did not mention the game.  Tee Hee Ha Ha Snicker.

Afternoon All!

Well it was quite quiet in the Patriots nation side of my house. The Mrs. even took the couch last night!! Laugh. I had a good evening out with my friends though.

Wow! Another Amtrak tragedy......

Kev - Thanks for the update on the Williams wiring. I figured there had to be reason you didn't do fixed voltage wiring, but I thought I'd throw it out there none the less.

RT - Nice project!

Spank - Nice Camaro back at you! Good call waiting for the '98. I liked the redesigned front end on the 98-02 and of course, the LS1 engine. I'm sure the extra SS stuff from the boys down the road in Toms River, doesn't hurt either!!

Yes, I'll be adding some sub-frame connectors, aftermarket torque arm and other addtional suspension mods. Your powertrain is only as good as the chassis built to support it!

I'm glad your son is okay. It was slick out there!

Have a good one and prayers.

Mornin' boys.  Calling for some potentially hazardous frozen precip in the Potomac Highlands.  Did my running around yesterday.  Even took an hour to visit an antique store on Baltimore St.  I like to sort through old postcards and vintage photo, and I was able to scoop up an old postcard of a B&O hopper at an area coal mine, and a nice image of a canal boat near the long gone Bolt & Forge.

Won't be watching the "big" game.  Gonna spend that time in the train room.  Maybe get the high line finished, so I can have 4 trains running simultaneously.

Fife,

I sent you a PM about your 303.

Been crazy busy with OT at work.  I did get to check out an outstanding train show in nearby Elizabeth, PA on Sunday morning.  It was excellent, just like the Monroeville show used to be.

I saw Alan from the now defunct Iron Horse that was in Bridgeville, PA.  Chatted with him for a while and bought a nice Flyer sawmill from him.

I also made my reservations for York in April a few days back.

Sunny and warm good morning.  Mayor's stuff today and tonight.

Sure got quite on some of the forums after the game last night.  Some braggers are not talking.

Have a great week ahead.

Morning all!

SJ, DougM, Kev - youz guyz left the freezer door open again. It is 25 right now. Weather guessers blew it. We now have 40's for highs through Wed. 10* lower than predicted yesterday....well, kills the bugs...

Looks like CSX had a switch set wrong, broken signaling, coupled with manual train management that sent the Amtrak into the siding (at 59 mph) and parked freight per this morning's reports. Btw - these were preliminary NTSB findings.

Cold morning at -1 on the north bluff.

They say we are going to get punched with 4”-6” of the white stuff this afternoon so we may get to use the plow yet.

Thanks Mike, the wife really likes the carpet on the stairs to the basement.

Thanks Joe we get a lot of fun out of the layout here.

Good evening,

We had a nice Sunday. It rained all day but I only departed the house to buy some groceries and some project materials from Home Depot. I need to build some nice storage for my comic books. I have them in the standard white comic books boxes but I want them in something nicer. I stole a few ideas from the internet. As soon as I finalize a track plan I can buy some layout benchwork materials as well. It is a shame about the train accident; Amtrak is having a rough time right now.

Fife - Right there with you.

Kev - I always enjoy photos/videos of your layout.  Thanks for posting it.

Good night,
Joe

Hello there,

the predicted coating to an inch turned out to be 5" of heavy wet snow.

Between dealing with that and Mrs having the crud we didn't get to the tree today. There's always tomorrow.

Friday was Candlemas Day, the presentation day. Christmas is finally over.

Seriously Mrs and I really enjoy the tree so we usually let it up till Groundhog day as long as it isn't to dry and dropping needles. It's made Valentines day on a few occasions. But then there's one that was literally bare by New Year's .

Time to crash.

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

Did 11 miles in 3:09:44 today.  17:15 minutes per mile for a 3.50 MPH average.  Not great, but getting close to 13 miles.  Still able to move after the walk.  Did very little after that.  Kevin, stair pictures look good.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Heres my two projects I'm working on now.

Now if you can see it. I'm wondering how many times the wiggled the coupler piece in lower left side to break it? It's suppose to be like the piece above it, LOL.

head on two employee's killed 150 injured. Mainly minor but some had broken bones.

Morning all not good news to wake up to. Less than 40 miles away from us.

The TV report did not say but the freight train was parked so it could of been way worse.  More misleading reporting on TV. Good thing they had it in the story line you can read. Still a real mess again.

Starting to snow here now.

Hope all have a good day, talk to you all later

Robthe series wiring was easy and did the trick for the switch. Slow speed is now a crawl and there is still plenty of high speed. A much better chance of the grandkid not flying the engine off the upper loop. Think I will do the NW2 I got from Bob next. Yes

Here it is running .
