Hello,

A late post before heading to bed. It was a slower day at the office which allowed me to get home by 1700. After dinner, I assembled some track on the floor where I plan to build the layout.  I think I have the plan solidified but I do have one slight S curve I may have to resolve. Hopefully tomorrow, I will be able to test some trains on the track.

Roy - Thanks for all those photos. They came in handy with laying out the track tonight.

RT - I am happy you and Donna received some positive news.

Good night,

Joe

Evening all!

Well the weather guessers stay just that. Essentially rained most of the day and will not end until late tonight. Temps have stayed in 60's today. Nice but boy is everything soggy here.

RT - at least it sounds like Donna will not as bad as you feared after all this. Hopefully they can find what started this.

Joe D - sent the rest of the article scans to you a little while ago. Have fun!!

Regards, Roy

RT, prayers.  Maybe a pinched or damaged nerve.  That is fixable.

Rob, why don't you start the new Coffee Pot tonight.  Most of us have done that in the past.  You haven't.  Use to be my "job".  I get busy and can't make it until a day or so later.  Go for it.

Early out as have to go to the lesser university in Chapel Hill for town retreat.  Why?????  Interim Town Manager loves that place.  BULL!!!!

Later.

Good Afternoon from cloudy 55°F Southern Ohio,

It has not rained in a couple of days now which is good.  Our county has had major flooding of the Ohio river.  The flood gates were set in the floodwall for the first time since 1997 and the Ohio river was about 40’ higher than normal.

We’ve had no issues as our house sits at about 200’ above the normal river level.  A lot of the roads are closed with standing water.

I’ve been real busy at work, church and home so time spent on the pot has been scarce.

RT – Keeping you and your bride in my prayers

May God bless

Jim

I went back in about 8 last night and spent the night. Got about 2 hours sleep over the whole night. So you know where I'm heading. One of the nurses told me the MRI came back negative so that's good but now we need to figure out what has caused her semi-paralysis or what ever you want to call it. Still have not talked to the DR. Also need to find out what all is involved in this aggressive physical therapy, there talkin about.

New update:

Well wit the MRI showing nothing, I didn't want to jump the gun but I was betting on a neurologist to be the next step and guess what. Give the man a prize we have a winner. Still not good but it is something to see about. Now the thing is, whats going to be the next step, Is it a chiropractor? is it therapy still? who knows till she sees him/her. Still a wait and see game.

I guess it's been a few days so just checkin in. Temp is 49 way above average for a February day in Michigan. A train show last Sunday running the Modular layout sponsered by the Detroit Historical Socity. Next up for that layout will be at Greenfield Village in April when the live stean engine Thomas will be there.

Hello there,

crashed last night without posting.

RT....prayers for Donna and you. Fife's idea is excellent. Bet a local Veterans group or church would help you out.

Best move on. More demo on the porch yesterday  revealed little more damage. Got to round up some odd size boards and start reconstruction.

Prayers for those in need

rt - Best regards to you and the Mrs.  Wish I weren't 8 hours away.  Please call your local VFW, American Legion, or Boy Scout troop (someone may need an Eagle project) for assistance.

Found out as far as the ramp goes I need to stand in front of a mirra and I will see who has to pay for it.

Not a surprise was it?

WOW RT, Prayers for your wife. You need to be strong for both of you.

You will get it done.

I have been sick since we got home? Maybe it was the Wendy's?? Sandra is outside with Jordan and I am on and off the crapper.  Ick!

Afternoon all. Let me share some bad news.

Let me explain to you all what all happened. Saturday night she went to bed ( Wife) early with a headache/neck ache on the right lower side, Sometime during the night she woke up light headed but didn't tell me. Sunday morning she knew she had lost use of her left leg and arm ( about 70 - 80% ) again wouldn't tell me but told me she was light headed and needed my help to get her to the bathroom. Then to the couch and back and forth a couple of times. Monday morning she woke me up calling for me to get her to the bathroom again, but this time because of her slippery shirt ( silk like ) I lost my grasp and she went down and I almost went down ( this is because her left side gave her no support and I didn't know. All I know she would like twist me as we went. That was when I called 911. Haven't gotten a confirmed diagnoses but it's pretty sure she had a mild stroke but now her back is worse than it was.

It doesn't look good for Donna as she may have hurt her back even more when she fell. It kills her for them to try and get her to just stand up. I think she is going to end up in a wheelchair which really messes things up for me. as I can't go to like lowes or walmart without her because of my PTSD and this will make it real hard to get her in or out of the truck. If not impossible. I'm not sure who has to pay for a ramp for her to get up and down for the house but I can see I will need one before she comes home. If I have to I'll get the wood somehow and build it myself as I have the tools and the knowledge.  I may have to try with a neighbor I do okay with. By myself I'm okay with 2 or 3 others but beyond that it starts causing problems for me. I had a couple of problems today in the elevator at the hospital as there where like 4 others in it and it was a tiny elevator.

Good afternoon all, we had a hard rain shower last night, not long but intense.  We sure can use the water on the lawn.  Rain is a big deal here.  I thought I was getting over my virus but I am coughing my head off today (again).  All I have for it is an inhaler med from the doctor.  It helps a little.  Cooked a porterhouse steak last night that I got on sale.  It was good.  Tonight will probably be hot dogs and sourkraut or beans.  More rain in the forcast for Friday and maybe Saturday.

Sunny today going up to 60F, so we shall see.

Need to finish off those pesky torque nuts on the road runner so I can drive it.  Also need to check the bike out, it's getting close to topless and 2 wheel riding season.  All this rain is washing the streets off, which is a good thing, so I'm not too upset with all the rain we've been having.  The bigger plus is that when it's gray outside, I can sleep in on the weekends.

Not much else, just killing time, was busy yesterday but today not as much, 5 of my required 8 scans completed, did 13 yesterday.....

Need to pick up my Penn-Reading Seashore cars from Holly Beach in Wildwood, possibly pick them up at the WGH show in Edison in 2 weeks.

That's all that's fit to print today...

Good morning,

Going to be in the 60s today  Cool

Dentist APT at 10:30 then I will pick up Jordan and we will have him till Wednesdays night.

So there will be motorcycle riding today. Closed a deal on a Yamaha 110cc from the neighbor. I will give that to the soon to be 8 year old and take his 70cc for the soon to be 5 year old. Then when the 8 year old is ready to move up to a taller 125cc, or 250cc  I will give my son back the 70cc so he can sell that and he will give the 110cc back to me for the younger grandson. Everyone wins!

Best be going!

Good evening,

A busy day at work.  The wife returns around 12:30 AM which is great.  I will need to leave for the airport soon.

Rob - This was our 10th move in 23 years and it is getting old.  I use SCARM; it is free and somewhat user friendly after you become familiar with it.  My issue is I am not that creative.

I am trying to find my February 2010 issue of CTT, but have not unboxed it yet.  I want to see the layout diagram of Paul Helgeson's layout as I think it is quite cool from the photos I could find.

Good night,

Joe

Evening All!,

Enjoying the weather finally! Sump pump is still chugging away though.

Sir James - I feel better about not going to the show now. I'll definitely check out the layout at the Port Huron show. I think it's in May.

Spank - I hear ya! Except I'm the "good cop" and the Mrs. is the "bad cop"! LaughI know I need to drop the hammer more..... Get that Camaro out! I'm getting itchy too.

Mike C. - Nice time! I have to get back out running again. I was "gun shy" after my MCL injury in 2016. Didn't do any running last year and it shows. Sad I need to get that mid section ready for beer 'n patio season!!

Joe - Glad to hear the unpacking is coming along. I think all of the moving would be the worst part about being in the Service! Do you have RR-Track? I found it helpful for me when I designed any of my layouts.

Roy - What are you making with the lathe?

Fife - Daughter less then a mile away? I sense the babysitting duties will be increasing! Smile

Have a good one.

Rob

Sunny and will get to mid-50s today. Will be good to dry things out. Tomorrow they are saying 60. I will have the 4-year-old and he wants to ride his motorcycle so that should work.

The Fords were king of the pack yesterday and it was good to see Kevin get the win two days in a row.  All in all, it was a good race I think.  I have been to the track in Atlanta. I worked at Griffin many weeks for Cat doing logistic stuff for their plant that is there. The track was 12 miles from where I was so I went to check it out and ended up with just a T shirt.  Bang Head

Fife, did you get things straight with the INC co???
