Yes it is Roy, I find it hard to run the train holding the video recorder at the same time and no TMCC on this 80 year old beast. Laugh Just found a place where it made it around without slowing to a stop in a spot or two and as i shot the video it got faster and faster.

Thanks all for the congrats/well wishes

I won some O22 switches from Trainz on flea bay. I knew they where as is and knew 1 didn't have a motor. I didn't know it appears someone forced the covers off and broke the mounts on the 3 that had motors. But thats is basically all wrong other than missing screws that mount the motors to the switch itself but have some coming in.

Other than that I did test them all and they all worked. One was jaming and I fixed that so all is well now. They also all have there original boxes Smile

Hope all had a good day, talk to you all later

Good evening all,

Did nothing much Monday.  Work was good today.  Pain one was gone so pain two did not speak to anyone all day.  It was nice.   I did some LEGO building tonight.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

KRM - that certainly is a FLYING Yankee.  Nice find.

The Menards thread tipped me off on the Goodyear boxcar.  I found one on Ebay for $18.95.  It ought to be here early next week.

I did have a longer post, but I went to post it, and it dissapeared.

All for now.

Hello all

Back on the mountain for a few more days.

Not much work on the motorhome this weekend,  but I did get some more stuff sorted in the trailer for the move. And picked up a few parts for the motorhome.

Tried to start the '75 Flxible bus yesterday in preparation to moving it from the Broadway yard. Didn't have enough battery oomph so we a charging up a couple for this weekend. Found a workable cartridge filter for the '52 FL Twin Coach torque converter and they moved the 30' Twin so I can work on the steering box before we tow it.

Parts are coming to convert the Corvan to 2-spd wipers. There are a couple holes in the dash right now. Got the mechanical fuel pump in for the Datsun that will go in this Saturday.

I know it sounds like mechanical insanity, but I do love it.

Kev - that Yankee does fly, nice work and take care of yourself!

JimS - the motorhome is owned by Old Pueblo Trolley, the non-profit I volunteer for w/ historic streetcars and buses here in Tucson. I am working a deal w/ them where I may purchase the Tacoma Twin Coach parts bus for storage and eventual conversion to a motorhome. What I call my retirement plan:)

Fife, Good news on the Radon test. I take it you have someone on the hook? Huh?

RT, Good news on your test, that is a good area to have checked now and then. Yes

Otherwise I did not get much sleep last night. Arms are still sore from diving down the stairs.

Neighbor Norm is coming over at 9:30 to do some metal work on Jim's break

SS payday so a trip to Krogers later.

Not much else guys.

Have a good day and God bless you guys! Angel

Why start now? Wink

Mornin' Fellas. Got a few minutes before my weekly status call. Sad

TheQ has been in Michigan since Monday doing a training, so I got single daddy duty till tomorrow. Tonight will be the toughest as the kids will have to readjust to mommy coming home. Got them to cleanup their toys last night, today I'll try to vacuum the carpets and clean the kitchen floor. Will be interesting to see how all her travelling goes this Fall.

G Bear - sounds like a nice place to retire to!

Good Morning,

Fifedog - The retirement home is a 132 old Veterans Home run by the State of California.  The cougar was last seen in Feb. of 2015.  He/she has never bothered the people here at the Home.  The choice of food for the cougar would be the deers, kit foxes, wild turkeys, etc..

Roy - If we had more water, still in a drought, I would be out watering that "200 ft tree outside my window" and a lot more of the Redwood trees.  Big Smile

lion88roar - I wish that everyone could live in a place this nice, we are truly BLESSED.  Angel  There are a 1,000 Veterans and some wives along with a staff between 800 to 900 people.  I feel like a kid in a toy store 24/7.  Big Smile

Good morning all,

Big brush fire going on in the Cajon Pass East of us.  BNSF has stopped all trains going through the pass.  Fire was still out of control this morning.  Started yesterday near Interstate 15 and Highway 138.  One report says a U.P. Bridge has fire damage where it crosses the old I-15. The U.P. parallels the BNSF through Cajon Pass on the Palmdale Cutoff.  Missed my caregiver meeting yesterday but paid a visit to my wife in her facility instead.  I had a computer problem this morning.  I touched some button while on facebook and got some kind of a warning beeper and a number to call for help.  My computer was locked up for a while.  Called number and it sounded like on of those scammers from India trying to break in to your PC.  I said I would call back later and hung up.  I finally got back on line by hitting some of my icons on the computer.  Checked McAbee and found nothing amiss.  Hope everything is OK now.  Watch out for these crooks.

Evening all!

G bear - your facility - that is very cool. I think our drought here is finally busted. we are getting rain this week which for this time of year is rare as hens teeth.

Fife - what were you apologizing for????

Ray - I get this junk all the time. For the phone I look at caller ID. If I do not recognize the number I do not pick up anymore. If they are for real they will leave a voice mail. Prayers for your wife.

Forecast here still for 10+ degrees below normal for next  10 days. High 80's and no higher than 93. Scatttered rain for rest of week.

Regards, Roy

Hello All !

Been a good while since last post. Between all the projects that the BetterHalf and I have been doing, proverbial 30# in a 5# bag, just to tired to do anything else. Especially when we are still trying to come up with the right drug combo for the heart and it's related issues.

Fife, We don't need no stinking apology. Pardon the movie reference. Stick out tongue

Brent, I took my daughter fishing once when she was like 3 1/2 or 4. After about 20 minutes, if that long, she was bored and used the free line at the end of the rod to make designs on the water's surface.

The phone we bought awhile back, excellent investment, has a call blocking feature that gets a lot of use. Don't rcognize a number or no # or no ID we don't answer. If no message left I'll do a phone number net search and most of the time you will have the info to block (spammers/telemarketers) or not.

AC is humming a lot the past few days, but it does beat stewing in your own juices .

Gettin tired, time for a break.

Oh, by the way has anybody heard from Jon or has he been spending all his time touring on his bike.

Hello all

Finally figured where my online photos were. I forgot I switched to shutterfly after I got rid of my yahoo account:)

For those who were curious, here's the front end of the '52 Twin Coach FL bus I have been working on. One of only about 60 some odd made and certainly one of the last few in existance.

We hope to be able to drive it over to the new location at some point. We have started the engine twice now. Currently working on getting the torque converter fluid system sealed up.

Good evening all,

Very good day today.  Both pain one and pain two were gone all day so it was very peaceful and quiet and was able to get a lot of work done.  Came home and finished a LEGO project I was working on.   Not terribly hot today, but muggy.   "My" soccer girls lost their first game of the season 4-2.  Was a winnable game.  Was hoping they would get 10 wins this year.   Tomorrow's game could set the tone for the season.  A win, a tie or even a respectable loss would be nice.   A blowout would be a disaster.  My first game is tomorrow as well.  Hope the field and weather are acceptable.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Meteor shower? What meteor shower?:)

I think it was cloudy that night.

Remember, I work in radio astronomy, and they don't let us out much:)

That said, one can detect the disturbance made in the atmosphere by meteorites through monitoring an FM receiver tuned to a radio station which is over the horizon.

I believe this was one of the first research areas of radio astronomy following WWII.

LOL! That is awesome! Smile Christina would probably hit Matthew with the rod and claim he fell. Wink

Mornin' Fellas. I know most of you aren't on FB, but one thing I like about it is every now and again it will send you a 'Memory', well today my 'Memory' was a photo of my little sister holding Christina for the first time 5 years ago. Christina had her eyes closed, but hand her right index finger against her right cheak. This is something she has been doing ever since when she is deep in thought. Funny how when they are so young manerisms come naturally. Can't believe Christina starts kindergarten next Wednesday!

And all this got me to thinking... I've been on CTT for going on 9 years and The Pot was one of my first visits. The welcome was jovial and the comraderie was quite evident. I have met many of you at York and at other gatherings. We've shared some good times and not so good, but all-in-all it has been a good ride!

Yes Brent York has brought some of us together and it was a pleasure to meet each one.

Sun today and 85.

We have finally gotten past our very dry spell. A lot of brown spots in the yard. The rain should green things up again

Home from the VA mountains.  Good trip.  Came back through Richmond.  Wifey wanted to go to the new Wegmans [a big gro and etc.].  What surprised her was a new Cabela's next door.  So she had to follow me in Cabela's like I had to do in Wegmans.  We ate in Wegmans and it made me sick.  Yankee and Asian food.  I'm sure Yankee store.

Fifey, this software is so 'd up, I get mad and stay away for days.  Remember when it worked so good.  Try to read back and it jumps to who knows where.  A mess.

All stay safe.

Good evening all,

Ouch and ouch and ouch again.   My first game tonight in my league.  We had a 1-0 lead early and got blew out 7-1.  "My" soccer girls played at home tonight.  Varisty lost 8-0 and JV lost 6-0.   Only bright spot was my "teammate".   She did well.  She did get a lesson in playing with the "big kids".  I think my team will be competitive and win a few.  Good news is that we had 4 subs so I did not have to play the entire game.  Work was busy today with some conference calls as well.   Pain two was in very rare form today.   Days like today make me want to start the retirement clock again.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning, Slowly coming back to life and it feels good. Still have a ways to go but at least I am thinking I am headed in the right direction.

Yesterday, I had a flat on the truck, well low on air, Anyway they are almost done and 5 years old so I decided to just replace them now.  So Truck is in the shop getting a set of Firestone Destination ATs. $1,000. I had the same tires on the Dakota and I liked them. Should be ready by noon.

I paid the last half of the taxes when I got paid on the first so that is over and I paid the LP contract last week so all the big stuff is done for this year. LP was $1.199 per gallon contracted 1,000 gallons, I had 276 unused gallons from last year they gave me credit for so it was not to bad. I had to pay $923 to cover the rest.

Got the PT bill for first 3 visits and it was $1118.00 or $372.60 at trip. 30 minutes the first time and 45 the other two. Even after INS discount they still wanted almost $300.00 from me. I called them and told them to stick the rest of the PT up their.. .. I could have bought 8 inversion tables for my own for that. On top of that it was not itemized and I told them I don't pay any medical bills that are not itemized. What a joke, I do more PT working around here than I could get there in a month.

Daughter’s house closing is like a ping pong ball, it don’t stay in one place for long. Lawyers and banks. Can’t get worse than that. Angry

Wonder how Rich and Fife are doing on their moves??  Huh?

Hope all you guys on the left coast are safe from those terrible fires. Seems the weather is going nuts everywhere.

Be save and have a good day.

TGIF.

Pleasant and 81 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Built the little one a Tiger Tank out of LEGOs this morning.  He seems rather satisfied with my free-lanced effort.  Stopped by Michael's to see what LEMAX is offering for Halloween, and was severly under-whelmed.  Wonder what my old buddy Brutus thinks...?

88 - Take a diced up hotdog when you take the little ones angling.  That'll keep them (and you) busy.

Very Late Evenin' or Very Early Mornin'

Yesterday (Friday) I took Christina to the Kindergarten Meet and Greet. Very lots of fun! She is truly an amazing little girl. Got her bus stickers, info on how to setup her lunch account, and a few other odds and ends. We were walking by The Girl Scout table and she asked what that was, so we walked over and she talked to the lady and seemed very interested. The lady explained that they currently do not have a Pixies Troop in the area because they need 2 adult leaders and they've only been able to get one, I asked if men could be GS Leaders and she said "YES! GS is trying to get fathers more involved." Mentioned that I am an Eagle Scout and I would be honored to help... so looks like I'll be a GS Leader... LOL. Next stop was the PTA table... looks like I'll be on that too. While talking to TheQ about all this Matthew says "Hey, what about me?" Told him he has a couple more years before he can start Cub Scouts... so I had to explain that to him.

Going to be an interesting 1st year o' school for me... Smile
