Good evening all,
A good day. Good thing I took an extra day just to get caught up on tasks. A/C fix on truck was not as bad as it could have been. Got oil changed on PT. Talked to Lucas. New job is going well. Talked to contractor about some details. Roof is done. Siding and windows are next. Flooring is selected. Maybe seeing light at end of tunnel. Got my ears lowered. Gas IS a lot cheaper in Ohio, almost 40 cents less than Indiana. Go figure. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Average here right now is like $2.07.9 a gallon
Evening all not a lot going on today. Passed the hearing test no problem
Surprised and took care of three of my care givers today with fresh peaches from where we are moving to. they all where tickled.
Getting up real early so early to bed tonight you all have a good evening

Ray, If memory serves me the egg price increse was predicted several months back when there was a very big outbreak of bird flu. The reports I had heard said that it decimated the turkey and chicken farms in several of the western states. Just wonder what turkeys will cost come november.
Kev, I bought gas yesterday at $3.46/gal and felt like I was getting a heck of a deal after $4 just a week ago. Thanks for bursting my bubble.
Ray, That egg thing sounds like some chicken hugger thing. Eggs here are $2.20 a doz and gas today is $2.249 a gal.
Neat Tunnel Buckeye.
Oh yeah, I forgot to say. 30 pack of Miller High Life Light was $10.47 at Wallyworld
Well Buckeye just bursted my bubble. Wow under $2.00 a gal is great.

One of the projects I worked on in 2006 is nearly finished. I think you will like this one.
Good morning all,
Price of eggs is going through the roof out here. Over $7 for an 18 pack now. Something about a new regulation that prevents growers from keeping chickens on the nest all the time. So I guess they have to do more work to take care of the chickens now. Understand that but sounds like somebody is taking advantage of the situation. I have switched over to store brand of egg beaters for a while. I get equivilent of 20 eggs for $5. Garbage disposer quit on me yesterday. Plumber putting in a new one tomorrow. Caregiver meeting this afternoon and wife goes to day care while I'm there at the same place.
True Green Lawn Service came yesterday and wanted to give me some super dooper treatment for $247. I told him I did not want to spend another dime on a dying lawn due to drought watering rules. The drought is probably hurting a lot of gardeners now. I'm trying to keep my guy going caring for the shrubs and trimming things.

Good Morning Guys! Going to 93 today.
Headed back to Mom's yesterday. She had a bladder control problem yesterday, but it seems ok today. Taking her to the Cardiologist @ 2:45 today, so I basically have a free day to work on the Branchline, which grew from a 4x7' ex HO table to an irregular 12x12'. I had a job offer for a full time day position from the Vo-Tech, that I accepted. Not planning on making it a career. They were in a bind and they asked me to help out. Good thing I postponed collecting SS.
Buckeye or Chief: I would appreciate if you emailed Paula's address to me @ jdmjwilusz@aol.com. I would like to send a card.
Banks: Happy Birthday to the Grand Baby.
Chief: Prayers for your In-laws and the family.
Mike: That Musuem sounds nice. Something that I would like to visit.
Fife: Enjoy the Grandson. My Granddaughter loves the "Chuggers". Yes, I let the 15 month old run my 1950, 773 Hudson.
Doug M: Enjoy sailing. I came up with a method for reconditioning tube track. I have had great success with it.
Ray: Continued thoughts and prayers for you, your wife and family. Glad you have a support group.
Kev: Hopefully you will have some rain for your grass. My grass with the sprinklers has a few brown spots. The weeds are doing fine!
RT: I liked the West Virginia Express. Good luck with the hearing test. BTW, you can't use a cheat sheet, I tried! lol
Doug Da Grump: The Grandkids must love you! We did a Nerf Gun Christmas. We had a blast. My wife's idea.
SJ: Enjoy a BLT for lunch today!
Later guys!
John
Good morning,
Beautiful weather on the North Bluff above Marseilles today. Dry and cool. Much better than what we had over the weekend. Doug, The daughter sent me a link from IRM about a day with Thomas and train ride and wants to go. So I may at last get to see the place. Wife is in a house cleaning frenzy. She only has 9 days till school starts and she has to go back to work. I will finish detailing her car today so it will be in shape for the 100+ mile round trip it takes each day to get her there. It also keeps me out of her way in the house. Prayers for those in need.
Mornin Y'all.
Back from my morning walk, about a mile and a quarter, so thought I'd pop in to see what's up.
Buckeye or Chief could one of you e-mail Paula's address so I can send a card ?
Fife, ain't it a blast to have the little ones around when you are retired ! Helps to keep you young. We had ours with us friday thru tuesday of week b4 last. Gramps did learn something new during that stay. My pacemaker/defib maker says no more laser tag, glad I checked before we started playing. Dang Gramps is gonna be kind of boring, no more hand to hand combat, wrestling or laser tag. Still have the Nerf guns though !
Prayers for our friends and their family members in need.
The dogs have quieted down so I'll get moving and see about some breakfast.
Have a great day all !
Later.
Fife I thought them mountain vehicles where what we call roll-can-hardly roll down one hill and can hardly get up the next. ( Johnny Carson joke )
Not much planned for today have a hearing exam later today (4 P.M. ) so have to go into the V.A. I hate late appointments
I prefer mid-late morning.
Talk to you all later
Aloha from another pretty-ful day. I enjoyed studying up for the sailing lesson which was moved up to Friday morn. The instructor gave me the idea of reading the Boy Scout 'small-boat sailing' merit badge booklet instead of a gigantic tome I got from the library. I spent some time after sunset troubleshooting a few track sections where the connectivity seems iffy. MikeC, there was a roomful of Dusenbergs at the Volo Auto Museum I visited a few weeks ago - they are sure beautiful machines.
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
Mornin' boys. Day 2 of Fifepops camp will have an auto shop segment. Gonna show the boy how to find the oil drain bolt... Added a class of non-lethal defensive tactics when I saw a bigger tot manhandle the grandson. Reflected on the day with a couple brewskies on the yatchet at sunset.
rt - That looks like a one-way type of vehicle...down hill...
Spent a great day at the Fostoria Train Park and the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum on the way home. Saw lots of train action at the park and lots of nice vehicles at the museum. I think the roof is done on the house, but I think we lost a dogwood tree in the process. I hope everyone has a good day.
Fife found the perfect vehicle for you for all your traveling back and forth between WV and MD https://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/9709030
And it's in West Virginia for you too what more could you ask for
Fife should of said something sooner there already all packed and theres a couple of sets you would of loved to safe keep for me 2265W and 2572 also I'm sure you would take real good care of them for me but your getting ready to move also I believe very soon I can send you my address and Ill keep all yours for you safe untill you get settled in then send them back to you on the S.C.R.R.
Humm, Now no page numbers at all on this site's Junk software.
All the storms went north and east. Could of used some rain to water the new grass seed I put down yesterday in the blazeing heat but I will pass on the hail.
Doug, don’t forget to wear you lifejacket.
Had a scary moment yesterday. Wife wondered off when I fell asleep in my chair. Turned up at neighbor across the street who is a policeman. He brought her home. She told him there was a strange man sleeping in her house. That was me. Still learning how to cope with all this stuff. Luckily I have a support group to get information and help.
Hoping for a better day today. We have an appointment with the foot doctor this morning but that's all so far.
cnw1995 - That's the style, Doug! Just try to keep that tall stick-thingie out of the water....you'll do fine.
Banks - Just talked to neighber. Troy built PONY, 5hp, rebuilt carborator this season. Asking 300 OBO. It was too big for his needs.
rt - Tellyawhatimagonnado...send me all your postwar items for "safe keeping". We wouldn't want them lost in the move. Then when you're all settled in, I'll get them to you...ala The Carolina Crippler...
It really is all about helping others....
Aloha. I had a relaxing, hot weekend. Big storms overnight cooled everything off today. I'm sure the 'hail damage experts' will be canvassing our neighborhoods today. I went outside to scoop up a few of the giant (silver dollar-size) pieces to put in the freezer to show the youngest when he woke up today. Chief, that is a good idea about the cards. Thanks for 'representing' us, Buckeye.MikeC, that was a great race. Sounds like you had a good time. I watched a lot of racing over the weekend, F1, Indy, NASCAR trucks and big boys, and even a sports concourse at Lime Rock in Connecticut that I used to visit when I was little.SJ, hope you dodged the storms.Fife, good luck at 'camp.' You would be proud of me. I'm going to take sailing lessons next week on a little boat in our town's name-sake lake. Something I've always wanted to do...
Mornin' boys. Sunny and 67 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Today begins the 2 week long Fifepops Camp (I have my whistle) with grandson. First thing off I will impress him with my recent acquisitions from the Greenberg's Show: 6032 Postwar Lionel Gondola, 9305 Santa Fe outlaw car, 9855 Swift reefer, 52051 TCA B&O Sentinel Service boxcar, and the peas-duh-ree-siz-tonce (huh-huh-huh') the 36729 Lionel animated caboose! Now that I have one, I'll tell you it is the coolest piece of rolling stock I have. The conductor holds a red lantern on the back platform, and as the train rolls around he moves out to starboard and the lantern glows (I mean realy glows red). Happy... Along with the 6465 Gulf black tankcar the oldest princess "won" me for $9.95, I have a super set of O-27 to go with my beloved 2026. I have named my set The Mid-Atlantic Merchandiser.
Then it will be story time, and I will narate my trip to Rockville Bridge I took with "Uncle" Tom yesterday. Best day of train watching we ever had there. Didn't see any Heritage units, but NS didn't dissapoint. Even saw some UP, CP and a BC unit. Weather was spectacular. Need to take the boy up to Fort Hunter soon. Then we stopped off at New Freedom in time to catch my favorite steam Engine, YORK 17, leaving with the Hanover Junction train. Got my 30% off long sleeve YORK 17 t-shirt for wearing to YORK (conceal your jealousy please).
Don't know how I'll get him down for nap after all that excitement.
An absolutely great day!!! Got Pippa's and Sato's autograph. Got to smooze with several of the teams and a member of the broadcast team. Weather was great. Traffic not bad either before or after race. Rahal, an American driver, won and pulled to within 9 of points lead. AJ's team did not have the best day, but Hawkesworth salvaged a 9th. I hope everyone has a good day.
Chief, I can relate to your IL problem. Prayers for all of you.
Just got a call yesterday from a friend who says one wife of our church social group has taken a bad turn with some kind of dementia and the husband has no idea what to do. I told my friend to tell him to call me. At least I can point him to the right places to start. I feel for all going through this.
Hudson John, thanks for the words of encouragement.
The birthday dinner for my son went off OK last night with cake and ice cream after dinner out. Only downer was the A/C was bad order at the restaurant.
Got to get ready for church.
Good job Buckeye. RT had called about flowers. I suggested we all send cards. Flowers don't last. Cards can be held in rememberance and a nice "stack" would show our love for a long time.
Hot and less humid. Did my pond and path maintenance yesterday. Got that done for the summer [I hope].
May be going to VA. today. MIL is finally gone of deep end. Thinks she is at SIL's ex's house. She went back with SIL yesterday. We are going to go get her. Girls have finally decided in-laws are going to have to have daily supervision.
Prayers for all those who need them and especially John's Mom. Same for Rich's house sell.
Hope everyone has a great week ahead.

Yesterday, I traveled down to Caldwell, the small county seat of Noble County, Ohio, to pay my respects to Paula, Chuck's wife. I thought everyone should know that on the small memorial card distributed by the funeral home, the cover contained a picture of steam engine roaring down the tracks. I was introduced to several relatives as "one of Chuck's train buddies". I smiled.
RIP Chuck. You were a great friend and confidant. You will be missed.
