Good evening guys,
Thanks for the B-day things.
Got home about an four ago, spent the whole day and got 7 loads of gravel. Same amount a semi could do in 2 loads. Glad my time is worth nothing. Went to the Moose to eat. So now we are back from the Moose, full of beer and food. tired,
Where else can you have two dinners of jumbo shrimp and all the fixings for $17.50?? And $1.75 16 oz draft beers?
John, we looked at it all today and figure he is only 1/3 there for gravel around his place. We did 100 ton this week and it will be 200 more ton at least.
Going to hit the tub and then the bed. ;-)
Brent, thinking of your problems, hang in there. Something will change, can't help but to think of all DJ went through to.
Banks, crops here are a bust to.

Good Evening!
It has been a busy week. The latest news on Mom is that what she thought was a lump caused by her bladder, is the rectum prolapsing again. The surgeon showed her how to put it back, but she eventually may need the bag. Home now, relaxing with my wife after a nice dinner out.
Brent: Prayers for Christina that she overcomes the arthritis. Prayers for your job situation.
Kev, Happy Belated Birthday.
Doug: Congrats on your seamanship.
SP Ray: Continued prayers for your wife and for you. Hope you feel better.
Fife: You are having too much fun at Fifepop's Camp! Your set sounds cool.
Banks: The crops are the same here.
Rich: Good luck with the cars and the house.
Dennis: Good luck with the new car.
Enjoy the Weekend!
John
Aloha. Sunny, hot and humid today. I earned my sailing card this morning! Whilst I screwed up rigging the test boat from scratch, but I think I redeemed myself 'soloing' I think if I rent only rigged boats for the rest of my life I will be fine. Today's the bride's first day back at work. Hope she survived.
Rich, that sounds like a great purchase...
Praying for Brent's job search and Christina.Banks, I was into model rocketry too when I was younger. I remember inadvertently shooting my bigger rockets off in the local airport's landing pattern. Does your mom's house burn coal for heat?
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
At the Honda dealership with the GF's car....
Brent..Prayers, buddy...Love and perserverance will win out. And you got both, my friend!
House thing still in limbo, I'm sticking to my original offer...there will be others....
Put a down payment on a NEW CNJ Camelback LionChief Plus. The used MTH Proto 1 Camelback was interesting at $295, but it's Proto 1....
Roadrunner back at the place where the alignment went bad....they will handle it, I can only do this everyother weekend...lol!!
Trying to book a flight to see my Princess in October...Frontier WAS cheaper, now with all the bagage fees, TWICE as much as the big airlines...
Kev - Happy Belated...

Good morning all,
Prayers for Christina. Hope it's not too bad.
Hot! Yesterday was about 102 I think but temp in dressing area near pool was 106. Probably the same in the garage. Hope my train electronics can survive. They have so far for many years.
Plan to attend memorial service today for an old friend who passed away while on vacation in Ohio.

Good evening all,
Great day at work and at home. All the windows are now installed. Waiting for siding to get done so they can install the screens so we can actually use the windows. Weather is nice. Went to see latest Mission Impossible. It is what I expected. Brent, prayers for you and your family. Been down the job search path. It creates a vacuum at times. Hope Christina is not seriously bad with that. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
for Christina, and also for her dear parents.
Heat is rising and the humidity with it. This Stinks. Gas was $2.04 on Tuesday and it is $2.99 today. That British oil co. called it due to a GLITCH at a refinery in Indiana. Sure. Did they not just have the same kind of thing on the left coast?
Good luck Brent, Life sure can be a kick in the soft spot now and then. Hang in there.
Aloha. Happy birthday Kev! MikeC, you have excellent taste: Nighthawks is very cool in real life and much bigger than you think it is: almost 3 ft by 5 ft. Wow, I want to go to Camp FifePup. I'm sorry to hear about Christina's diagnosis and your transition, Brent. When my wife was in pediatrics, she had some juvenile arthritis patients... Why did gas just go up $1 a gallon?
Afternoon FellasI haven't been around much lately as life has become rather over-whelming.Found out a few weeks ago that my services are no longer needed with the new company, so have to look for a new job. Didn't pass the certification last Saturday so need to study more and retake it. Been working long hours to get our data cleaned up so the new company can use it (ain't that funny). Then found out on Tuesday that Christina has pediatric arthritis. Not sure the severity, will find that out next Tuesday. Some days you just have to wonder.

Today at Fifepops camp we built 2 SUPER SHOT MINI MODEL ROCKETS, complete with a launching pad (ESTES). So you can take your pot-holders and stuff 'em, Camp Mohawk!
Went out with my social church group last night for dinner but didn't eat much. Stomach problem seems a little better today but not out of the woods yet.
We sat with another couple last night where his wife is suffering from possible dementia too from what I have been told but the opportunity never came up for us to share information. Husband knows my situation and that I am available to share information if he wants any. It's his move. Don't want to push. I'm certainly no authority but know where to go for more help.
Got some nice photos from the Rockies taken by a retired railroad conductor friend of mine. His wife has a lot of problems and is in the hospital. They live in a beautiful place but too far from medical help to suit me. They had to airlift her one time to get to a good hospital. That's the price you pay for living in those areas.
Wake Up
The coffees ready.

Busy week. My wife got a cateract removed yesterday - the procedure went well enough that she is setting up an appointment for the other eye in the near future.
The foundation guys also showed up yesterday. By the end of today, they had excavated 37 feet of foundation down to the footings, installed six jacks, backfilled and also installed eight jacks and footings holding two beams under my porch floor, which lifted about an inch of sag out of it.
I've got the downstairs bathroom down to the studs and am starting to put it back together as a 1/2 bath with more storage.
No train stuff other than reading the new issue of CTT.
All for now.
Happy birthday, KRM! Fifedog, congrats on recreating your set. Doug M, I do envy you sometimes on what you can get to in Chicago. Of course, all I would do is look at "Nighthawks" LOL! Work was junk today. One coworker was particularly nasty, but that is not unusual. Lots of meetings that accomplished little. Some of the windows are in, as well as the back door! Maybe the rest of the windows tomorrow! Traffic was bad on the way home. Ugh! I hope everyone has a good day.
Evenin' boys. Pretty day in the Mid-Atlantic region. Should have been out on the bay, but still in Fifepops camp. Today's clinic was how to restore the luster to a 6035 tank car, that was salvaged from under a pile of detris at the "other" train store. Also, the Lionel propeller in cradle showed up via US mail, so I showed the lad how we take a plain-Jane 6032 and dress it up. Really turned out great. So, basically, I've amassed the entire consist (well, my rendition of it...) of my long lost 1501S set.
Thanks Doug, that helps a lot. Going to be a hot one on Sunday. will need plenty of H2O.
Happy birthday to me,,,,,,,,,,63. Did not figure anyone would notice.
Aloha from a pretty nice summer day. I have class tonight and haven't had a chance to post until now. Walked 10K steps down to the Field Museum during lunch just to get outside and see a few dinosaur bones on one of their rare free-admission days. Kev, the IRM does have a nice diner on their campus that offers lunch-style food but I expect it will be crazy-busy. There's also two nice restaurant-bars in the town of Union itself. Fife, thanks!
Seems like the CTT forum is harder to access somehow lately. Have to scroll through a lot of stuff to get to the community section where you click on to get to the forum.
Still nursing sensitive stomach. Doctor's office called yesterday and they said he got my message. I talked to his assistant and it was decided to continue with the bland diet for a while and see if things clear up. We're supposed to go out with a group tonight for dinner but it's up for grabs right now. Depends on how I feel tonight.
Must be first day of school here today. All kinds of folks heading to grammar school near me this morning. Whatever happened to starting school in September? Must be a teacher thing. Seems like the kids are getting short changed on vacation.
Chief, thanks for the prayers. I can use them.
Jeb Bush spoke at the Reagan Library yesterday and I was reminded that I still haven't seen the place. Looks pretty nice on TV and more interesting (to me) than the Nixon Library which I have visited more than once. TCA put on a Christmas train show for a couple of years down there.
Grandson enjoying a long vacation this year and doesn't start first year of college until September.
Tried something for breakfast that I saw in a diabetes book. Take half an avacado and spread on a piece of whole wheat toast. Top with a poached or soft boiled egg with salt and pepper if desired. Tasted pretty good and didn't bother me.
Whatever happened to our buddy who raised cows that sometimes were looking in his windows? He used to share recipes too.
Hi, Nice day out there today.
No Doug we will miss the Threshing Bee down in Sycamore this year. I like the one they have in Pontiac better. Sandra starts back to work tomorrow. The SIL was wondering if they have food and stuff at IRM? The tickets are for a 3:00PM ride.
Not much else here.
Morning. Sunny and cooler. Low humidity. Finally got some rain. Had to water Wifey's plants, flowers and shrubs while she was gone.
Dougsnotagrump, congrats on the new Grandson.
Wifey home from trip. We will run some errands later today.
Ray, special prayers your way.
Hope all OK.
Fifey, the retired bum like us all.

Long day at work. Learned they are going to change the office around this week. Been talking about it for weeks and now they want to do it this week. Hurry up and wait. Go figure. Finally got dogwood tree staked so it stays upright. It had gotten "re-arranged" during construction. Some more work was done today, but not enough to mention. Hopefully windows will be in this week so some work can get done. I hope everyone has a good day.
G'day All.
Been a nice couple of days here with reasonable temps. Guess that all ends starting tomorrow thru the weekend.
Spent some time yesterday with a relatively young couple, compred to most of us rocks are close to being young, which we have known since they were in pre-school. They now have a baby boy who is an absolute doll. We now have another yougun who will be referring to us as Grandma & Grandpa. Another munchkin to indoctrinate into the world trains I hope.
Had a good day at the museum on friday, short of runners on sunday so went in again. No pile-ups on either day.
The wife and I tried sailing once on one of those glorified styrofoam jobbers when we lived in Grand Lake, Colorado. Needless to say things were going well till one of those nasty mountain storms blew in. Lets just say there were some nice whitecaps on the lake, when we got back to shore I think she was considering finding either a hitman or a divorce lawyer. Our first and last attempt at sailing.
Later all, the kitchen is answering the tummy rumbles !
P.S._Found a new burger place yesterday thanks to my daughter. If you have one in your area check them out as they are relatively new with regards to expanding eastward. The name of the place is "The Habit Burger Grille" they ain't exactly diet fare, do have some good salads, but they are great. Best I've had in a long while, think I even like them better than In-N-Out Burger. More like an upscale bar food burger than fast food.

Aloha from a beauty of a day in downtown Chicago - 70s, sunny, mild. This place is paradise on a day like today. Hope to walk down to the Field Museum during lunch - the main admission fee is waived today for some reason and I'll be able to visit Sue the t-rex.Dennis, I love Citroens - especially the DS. They were so far ahead of their time. The older ones are sure hard to find in the US. Are they still there? Fife, do you mind a few sailing questions via PM?
Kev, it should be a nice day out in Union. Are you going to the Threshing Bee down in Sycamore later this week? Lots of steam and tractors.
Good morning from a sunny North Bluff.
Daughter got tickets for the Day out with Thomas at the IRM on Sunday. So I guess I will see the place at long last.
Not much else going on.
Skin doctor visit went ok. Removed some skin tags. Sent one in for biopsy. Front of house is re-sided. Windows ship tomorrow. May be installed this week. More rain. Supposed to cool off tomorrow. Replaced headlight bulb on minivan. I hope everyone has a good day.
Had another bad night. Upset stomach for the 2nd time in a week. Up until 2:00AM with dry heaves. Called gastrointerologist this morning but he was out. Left message for tomorrow. I'm afraid to eat anything until I find out what the trouble is.
CNW, sounds like a fun time on a sailboat. Have to put that on my bucket list.
Did my biweekly watering today. I call it killing your lawn gradually. Lawns around here all yellow looking.
