Evening all!

Good day today. Enjoying the late summer.

The geriatric pup is hanging in there. She had a very good day today and was pretty perky all things considered.

As LAZ would say - stay frosty my friends!

Have a great day tomorrow all!

Regards, Roy

Good evening all,

Work could have been better today, but it was ok.   Ceiling on new addition is almost done and looks nice.   Weather is hot.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Hi,

Sounds like we will be sweating it out this next week. 95% humidity and heading to the high 80s or low 90s today and 90s the rest of the week. UGH!

I am just going to look at the wood this week Dennis. Smile, Wink & Grin Oh yeah, I am retired.

Good morning all,

A/C at church yesterday was still barely working.  Priest says he has given it the last rites.  Plans are in the works to get a new system but it won't be here in time for the balance of hot weather this summer.  We tried going to early mass at 9:30AM yesterday to beat the heat and skipped breakfast to make it on time.  That was a mistake.  Wife became faint and we had to leave early.  Won't do that again.  We are considering going to a neighboring church until the heat is over.

Grandson had oral sugery this weekend and had 4 wisdom teeth pulled on the same day.  He is doing OK now but has a lot of healing up to do.  Poor kid!  Will try to see him today.

A little cooler this week but not that much.

Morning.  Finally rained again.  1.31 inches since daylight.  Inside chores and a few errands to run.  Town calls will not let me have a day off.

Prayers for Fifey's move.

Prayers for Ray's situtation.

Prayers for Doug W's health.

Hope all the rest are OK.  I know Buckeye is.  Too mean to get sick.

Remembering Chuck.

Have a good one.

Good evening all,

Did very little today.  Leg doing better.  I listened to part of the Indycar race.  Sato was the best finisher (8th) for the four cars I was rooting for.  Dixon was the race and the title.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all

Fife are you moving yourself ? if so if you think you need a 24' truck get 2 lol

I'm experince at moving my self ( 17 years in the navy doing them all myself) but this time I threw all that out the window for some stupid reason. I thought I could get it all in 2 trips with a 6' x 12' trailer seeing I made about 3 already with my truck well lets say it plus two different size small trucks later it finally got done and I'm totally wore out. I also look at if I had gotten the 24' truck if I could of done it all my self in 2 days or not ( I'm no spring chicken anymore lol. ) Next time except my trains its all getting moved by some one else and even a lot of my trains will I bet if I ever move again and I don't care if its across the street and cost $10000. lol.

This move has been one head-ache after another and its all been simple stupid mistakes like I went to change outlets for the dryer and the Stove last night and bought the ones already here not the ones I needed there close but no cigar the ones here the middle prong is straight on my cords they have like a L shape to them yes I know the one on the stove is a dryer cord but it still works just the same 3 heavy duty wires to a heavy duty outlet. maybe I should even thou its more change the stove plug and the dryer out let so they are correct. lol will see. But its another trip to HD or Lowes and there like 20 miles away now.

Not much else planned for today calling for rain and thunderstorms off and on today. Need to cut grass but was to sore yesterday might be able to come Tuesday which will be good as it will be good and tall by then lol. Need to do some trimming also of some of the bushes and trees around here.

Hope all have a good Sunday time to figure out whats for breakfast.

Evening all!

Dennis, those Industrial Rail stock cars are excellent. I have a small fleet of the UP branded cars. They run great.

Weather here has been quite tolerable. Mid to upper 90s. Had some showers this morning.

Watched the CBoys vs Minn preseason game this evening. Certainly looked better this week than last.

Angel for those in need.

Getting a little bit of rain before it gets hot again.

We just turned the AC back on here Mike. Humid and hot.

It was only 72 degrees this morning but the humidity was 90% so I was done with the wood working for the day at noon. ( I thought ) Did maybe a face cord or better and was sweating like a pig so I took some time off. Just trying to clean up a sweet two trunk shag-bark hickory that was alive when Jim next door cut it down two weeks ago to widen his driveway. All I have left is the large trunks that are about 15' to 20' long.

So I went back to the wood later. Like John, I look at it as good work as much as I hate it I need the workout. The doctor asked me once if I do any working out and I told him he is welcome anytime to come buy to see and help. He shut up.   I put the loader on the JD and got the wood next to the splitter to process. I cut most to the needed 24" and the rest I left in 8' sections that are about 16 to 18" in Dia.. Then I worked a bit more on the new quick hitch I got for the JD and now have it where I don't have to do much to change between attachments.

Have a good night.

Good evening all,

Stayed off leg today, but watched boys lose 1-0 and the girls tie 1-1.  After 20 years, finally got a "team" shirt from the girls team (long story).  Not a good qualifying day for AJ's team.  Getting a little bit of rain before it gets hot again.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all.  Not as hot as August usually is.  That is nice.  Need more rain.

Hope all are doing OK.

Ray, see if you can find someone dependable who you can "pay under the table".  You need to have some "break time" or you will "crash".  Might tap into some of the "illegals" you talk about.  Find a good careing person.  Good luck and prayers.

Have a great weekend.

Good afternoon folks.  It is unbearably hot here today around 105 I think.  Put some dry acid in the pool this morning to lower alcalinity then run filter for 4 hours.  Should be good for swimming tonight.  I don't swim, I just get in to cool off.  Have drank about a gallon of store bought lemonade so far today.  Got some N.Y. Steaks for dinner tonight.  Son will be gone to girlfriends house so it's just us chickens.

KRM - because of a certain 10 year anniversary on every news outlet, this is probably the only place I'll read of your terrible weather occurance.

Yes Fife, Hurricane Katrina sure was a big one and does cast a shadow over what we had but it does not change the pain or suffering of those who are effected by things like this no matter how big or small or where it happens. You know the meida bigger is better for them. Wink I sure will never forget that day 25 years ago or the one 10 years ago.

After 3 days of October weather we can finally see the sun again. Grass is wet but I need to cut it today as rain is expected at some point over the weekend.

Good morning,

25 years ago today was the F5 tornado that wiped out or damaged 1,100+ homes, many in Plainfield. It  killed 29 people and injured 353. It is the only F5 tornado ever recorded in August and the only F5 tornado to strike the Chicago area.

Seems like yesterday. Tongue Tied

The wife's car brake parts are to show up today so I will do them tomorrow.
Best be moving on.

Good evening all,

Won a battle at work today, but not sure if it will cost me the war in the long run.  Tired of petty bickering.  Leg feeling some better but only played a few minutes in a 4-1 loss.   "My" soccer girls got pounded tonight 5-1 and reading between the lines, I do not think it was that close.   Somehow I thought this season would be better.  Now they have to win all the "winnable" games to finish with 10 wins.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning all, day going good so far.  The doctor ok'd higher strength on wife's medication yesterday.  Best part was that she accepted it without an argument.  Thank the Lord for small favors.

Planning a visit this morning between her and her old hair dresser near us.  Thought she could visit while I run some chores.

Still fighting chemical balance in the swimming pool.  Getting water test today.  Pretty sure it needs dry acid to bring down too much alkalinity.  Vacumned it last night and took a swim.  So hot it felt like bath water.  Heading for the century mark today also according to the weather guesser.  Live in son due home tonight late.  He has been staying out of town more lately due to his work.  I'm having to do more at home without his help.

TCA member is having open house this weekend at one of the beach cities.  Would be nice to go if I can.  Might be cooler.
