It has been something of a challenging month for me here ... first my heart/CHF/blood sugar decided to play hob with each other but as well.....my band is doing quite well for itself .... The gig tonight was...erm...interesting. Doing the first set I managed to toss my guitar into the speaker bin behind me....Second set...skewered the headstock of same guitar into my 4X12.

Quiet day at work. Wife and I went to a little dinner that recently re-opened. Good food at a reasonable price. Will go back there. Watched Grimm. It was good. Sarah's team was quick at Barber raceway today, and Sato was midpack for AJ. Found out MTH will bring back Tinplate line for non-Lionel items. Tile in shower was grouted today. Looks better and better each day they work on it. Still probably a few weeks away. I hope everyone has a good day.

Test drove a Triumph Rocket III Touring - man that thing is FAST!!! Too bad they wanted all the money and it needed tires and exhaust. The previous owner felt the quiet exhaust was too....quiet.
Had 2 fire calls, both false alarms....not much on the train front. Still looking for a place to live and I might have the bike thing figured out....more as news become available....

Morning. On the run again. Then at noon, got to babysit 1 year old great nephew. Pam is working, his Mom is some super nurse and his dad is a paramdeic. Try not to hit the same shifts. Well, if they do usually Aunt Pam is around. Not this afternoon.
Got a text from Don that he is still on house arrest with ankle bracelet. Bad part is he has to wait for Dr.
This computer is still trying to catch up on everything. I think I am on IE 9 and had 145 updates yesterday. Runs a lot faster.

Looks like they may be having a decent breakfast! I don't see any scrapple or grits anywhere. Nice to see that everyone escaped the cold weather and snow for a good thaw. (Especially the guys from Michigan). Leave it to the Double E to be concerned about me and magnets.
Ironically, not that it matters much NOW, but I think my cold has resolved itself, all symptoms have pretty much abated. And, of course there isn't enough time to get scheduled back into the hospital for the procedure, so I just get to wait.
Kay and Chris are doing extremely well, especially having to tolerate me hanging around all the time. I need to get back to my project building. I did have a little problem, however. The A&W Root Beer stand has a small piece of balsa wood about 3x4 square. It is an internal wall, anyway the silly thing has warped and pulled away from the rest of the building. And, it was painted before assembly. Apparently, the moisture in the paint must have caused the warping. Never experienced that before.

Yesterday was a long, busy day and then we had baseball practice last night. The team’s first game is tomorrow and they are mostly ready. A few more practices would be great though. Today was an easier day at work and the weather was beautiful. We’re having a relaxing night at home now.
Ken – No worries about the coach’s name, I understand. My Easter pie uses many eggs, a ton of prosciutto, genoa salami, pepperoni, cappicola, and a good deal of mozzarella, pecorino, and ricotta cheeses. There are a few minor ingredients as well.
John – Thanks. I’ll give you a report tomorrow.

Nice day outside. Tile is all laid, and hopefully the grouting will be done tomorrow. Progress is being made. Work was quiet. Had a staff meeting that accomplished nothing. New MTH Tinplate catalog is out. Have to give them props for new standard gauge subway set. I hope everyone has a good day.

I only saw one item that interested me. It was the Railking Scale Baldwin Original Norfolk and Southern AS616 road switcher for around $329. I had been hoping they would do this ever since they did the Baldwin NS V1000 switch engine in red, black and yellow colors. I already have the V1000. The only flaw I saw in the AS616 was the lack of full side handrails along the walkways. They used a handrail mounted to the car body above the walkway. NS had the full hand rails attached to the running board but I can live with it. They also had their bell mounted on the long hood end of the car body. I don't think the MTH model has that either. Since they made this for several roads, they probably just made one size fits all. Lastly, I think most of the Baldwin road switchers owned by NS were AS614 but they look very similar externally.

Fifepup, upon hearing the sum, stated he would be checking his pockets better...
Back up on the mountain. Had a rush job to bring up some more fuses that we have been going thru recently. Here I thought I was going to have a relaxing day after doing laundry yesterday. So much for that. Tried grabbing a couple hours sleep after I handed off the fuses, Will be a long night.

Chief - we've only looked at asteroids once w/ this puppy. There are other telescopes that do look for them. Here's a little secret though: they find them by comparing pics of the stars from night to night. Anything that moves is not a star. But the one that is heading straight for us, is the hardest one to find.
Made it to the Ace w/ the hobby store yesterday. Found a few things I needed and one I had wanted. One of those big green hobby cutting mats. Think they were selling them off as the price was similar to the smaller one I bought a while back.
Also bought a fire extinguisher for the car from the hardware section. One of the floats stuck and one of the carbs flooded over on the way. Managed to deal w/ it before it became interesting, but decided it was time to put one in the car.
Don B, sorry to hear about your delay. I think we could both use some good news. Thanks for the prayers for my wife and I'll send some right back at you. I think you now qualify for having the patience of Job.
Saw some pictures on Trainorders.Com of U.P. Big Boy 4014 all ready to go with it's accompanying diesels UP 4884 and UP4014 plus some cars on a track next to he main line at West Colton, California. Scheduled for departure this coming Monday morning. My two sons will chase it. I will stay home with the wife but hope Trains magazine will have it on the net on a live cam.
Work was quiet today, which was good. Got to scrimmage with the high school kids tonight. Good workout on the grassy field. Work goes well on the bathroom. May be done with the tile tomorrow. Still a lot to do. I hope everyone has a good day.

I had some unfortunate news today. Went to the Dr.s office for the Pre-Op visit. He asked me if I had a cold, and I don't currently, just getting over it. He in essence said not good enough. Can't do the procedure until it is completely gone. And, the Anathesologist wouldn't proceed anyway. So not much of a choice for me, the procedure has been rescheduled. Now, I've got this Fixator for another month. The Surgeon is not available until after the 15th. Needlessly I am quite disappointed, but it certainly could be much worse. So will just make the best of it.
Thanks for all the well wishes, will just have to wait a month.

Jon, We paid $1.499 and your right our friends, in town with natural gas, paid a lot more. I too used every bit of wood we had cut that was dry enough to burn. Your contract is cool that if you use more they sell it to you for the same price. Nothing like that here so you got to have enough at the contract buy. Our neighbor Jim and I have a splitter we share, he owns the parts and I built it. So we can take our time and split as we cut. If you average out the Lp it is under $130 a month if you use it all. most I ever paid was $2.129 four years ago.

Mornin' fellas and gals; It is with deep sadness that i will not be able to attend the York meet..... WAAAA! However, if the stars are in alignment, i will go in October. Hey Baker; That picture could be from anybody's leg; looks like a female gam to me.(just kidding) Have a speedy recovery. Hey Joe; Hitting coach is mucho bucks; and he chooses who he wants to teach. Since i like my fingernails where they are i cannot divulge identity. On to culinary matters; wifey always makes Easter pies. It's a family terdition. These are meat pies; made with ham and pork sausage; home made dough and a secret ingredient, love. They are so good. Each version that different people make has a particular taste; however, wifey always wins the taste test. It's what keeps me happy. later.
