Good evening all,

Absolutely miserable day at work.  Work progresses on bathroom renovation.  Three days to the Mini.  Pick up my packet tomorrow.  Watched Arrow tonight.   Interesting episode.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Spring if finally making its appearance here in SE Michigan.  Not so true up north though.  Still snow in many places.  There is still so much ice on the upper Great Lakes they think they may still have ice in June!

More prayers for our friends in the west, south and east with these tough weather conditions.  It's been raining here for three days, mostly mist but steady.  Hang in there.

What rain???? Field down east look like lakes. One county and near my farm had 6" in two hours. That county's schools closed today due to water over roads. Getting read to brew another pot.

Evenin' boys.  Yowza, too much Storm in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Crazy how Cali is in a drought, yet the rest of the nation is donning swim-fins.  An entire city block has slid onto the CSX main (former B&O Belt line) in Baltimore City.  Gonna tie up rail traffic for days.  This just hi-lights how shaky the town's infrastructure is, and why CSX, NS, and AMTRAK need to find alternative routes, or north-south travel on the eastern seaboard could be jeopardized.  On a happier rail note, NS Heritage Unit #8105 (Interstate) was at Bayview today.

Aloha. Grey and cool. Working from home as I have to visit the docs for some blood work. Hope to pick up the youngest from school and take him to begin pondering a small gift for mom's day. Love the overnight rain helping the otherwise devastated grass grow. Added to the brush pile in the front for the town pick-up. Hope to run Ivor tonight.

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

It rained all day today and the high temperature only the low-50s.  I had a busy morning as I junked the car I drove for the past 2 and 1/2 years.  It was due for the biannual Japanese Inspection and the annual road tax, but I didn't feel like paying the money for all this since I'm leaving in 2 and 1/2 months.  I still received $250 for it which is pretty good since I only paid $800 for it.  We're down to one car until we leave.

Brent/Fife - Let me know if you need any information on Japan.

Good evening all,

Wet here.  Miserable day at work.  A lot of items got changed and everything is all fouled up.  Had a nice walk at lunch.  Picked up some quarter round for the bath room.  They mudded the walls some more.  May get to paint this weekend.   Maybe have all done by Mother's Day.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good morning all,

Just reviewing all the pictures of the U.P. Big Boy move at various sources from yesterday.  Have not had much luck with the Trains Magazine live streaming video.  You have to be on the site when they come on the air, otherwise you get a blank most of the time.  They only turn it on when they want to show something.  I think today the engine is traveling between Yermo, California and Las Vegas, Nevada.

Had a nice conversation with Don yesterday.  He will have a lot of stored up energy when he gets out of his leg rig.  I know he has a lot of projects on the back burner.  Best wishes Don.

We have been eating a lot of left over ham from wife's birthday dinner on Sunday.  Made black eyed peas to go with it yesterday.  Yum yum!

later,

Ray

Good Morning !

Great News John !!  Congratulations on the NEW Granddaughter !  That is so fantastic!  Glad you made it back from York in time!

Sounds like everyone had a great time at York!  Went to a local train meet this past Sunday, didn't buy much a couple of 1/50th scale JD tractors for a $1 each.  They were new in the blister pack, will make for a nice load on a flat car.

Leg doing OK just sitting around keeping it elevated, can only do isometric exercises with some toe wiggling, but that's better than nothing.  Can't imagine what its GOING to be like when I start walking again.  I have so many places I am planning to go to, won't know where to start.

Going to go out in the Train Room today and work on some kits, assuming it doesn't get to hot.  Apparently we are in for heat wave for the next few days.  Today suppose to get to 94.

Sure hope everyone does OK with all the storms going on thru the area,  hate to see that happen to everyone.  Especially all the tornadoes.

Spoke with Ray yesterday, it was really pleasant talking with him.  We discussed the relocation of the Big Boy, glad to see it on its way.  So many more people will benefit from it, than where it was displayed at.  It really will be awesome to see it running under its own power!

That's about all I know, so hope everyone has a good day, and STAY HEALTHY !

Don

Afternoon Fellas

Looks like York was a hit! Wish I could have been there. TheQ had a conference she was speaking at in SanAntone on Sunday and her flight out was very earl Saturday, and my older sister came down for a visit. The kids and I spent the day Saturday at The National Zoo with my sister and had a blast. On Sunday I was watching TV while the kids were playing, after lunch I put Matthew down for a nap and Christina came down to the family room with me, after about 15 minutes she fell asleep on the coach. Then after about an hour she crawled up on my chest and fell back asleep. Apparently having a 30+ lb child sleep on your chest is not a good idea as I now have a bruised/inflamed nerve along my 7th rib... hard to breathe and nearly impossible to get comfortable... but was worth every precious second! TheQ's conference was a success and it appears she may be able to drum up some business from it - good for her career and her company, not so good because it looks like she may have to do some travelling (of course if the family can go to Japan with her it may be worth it).

Aloha. Dodged the bad weather here though I was hoping for some rain at home  - really need it. Prayers for those affected by the tornados - and most without basements down there too. I was inspired by the MTH standard gauge catalog last night - expensive but neat things - especially that subway. Buckeye, Columbus sure gave them a run. It was an entertaining series. Hope for better things next year *II love the underdog.  Great York pictures and video.

Morning.  Cloudy and rainy.  Off to several Dr's apts.  Then down east to turkey hunt if not rained out by storms.  Light rain not bad.  Turkeys move in the rain.  Also fill feeders and change camera SD cards.

Konbanwa and Ohayo Chuck,

It was a slow day here today.  The weather was warm, but mostly cloudy.  It looks like we’ll have rain the next two days.  Hopefully it will not affect the baseball game we’re supposed to have on Thursday.  I need to catch up on some reading this evening.

Congratulations Hudson John!

Buckeye – Unfortunately the season is over for Columbus.

Good evening all,

Quiet day.  Doctor checkup went well.  Worked on piles of stuff I have scattered thru house.  Weather is wet but mild.  Got oil changed on PT.  Watched Turbo in DVD.  If you can never get to IMS, watch the movie.  It IS like being there.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mornin' All.

Congrats to John & Doray on the new granddaughter. Thumbs Up

Laz, Thanks for the search, gonna give your lead a few days to get back to the regular day-to-day before contacting him. Thanks again. Bow

Wow, what a treat late yesterday afternoon. What appeared to be a B-24 made three low level passes over the house about an hour apart. I'm guessing it was a B-24 based on motor and tail configuration since I never did get to see it's nose. It was definitely close to being at minimum altitude and those engines really sounded sweet, even if it did rattle the house and windows a bit.

Later all.
