Sunny and about 70 today. Stopped by the LHS last Saturday and bought a box full of parts that featured prewar 225 and 226E shells. I sorted through the box tonight and discovered that there are just about enough parts to put together a complete 226E. Looking at the parts, I'm going to take a guess that the 226E had taken a header, as the steam chest is a later casting that includes a cast in front coupler. The two mounting screw holes do not go all the way through on that casting. Probably the biggest problem is that one of the front drivers has a broken flange. It also needs a few odds and ends like hand rails, and valve gear linkage. It is going to be fun project to get it back together and running. All for now.

Good evening all,

Did a 10 practice walk/ jog tonight for the mini-marathon in May.   Did the distance in 2 hours 37 minutes so I should be ok for May.   Body feels like junk right now.   Work was lousy today and looks to get worse the rest of the week.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Life is good.  I just wish Buckeye would stop parking in the "Grounds Keeper's" parking spot when he drives here in his Rolls Royce. Buckeye almost scratched Baba's Cadillac.

Dear Grandpa Chief,

I'm almost done with college and would like to come home and take your place as Mayor of Roseyville.   If you are not finished being mayor, maybe you get me a job keeping the second set of books for you.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the new train store you are building.  A 4000 sq ft model train store should be considered for a feature article in CTT.

I was just over to Chuck's place today.  He is one great guy to show me his weather making equipment.  I don't know how he stands the noise from the oil derrick in his back yard.  Needless to say, everyone in town calls him "sir" these days.  When we went to the bank in the Bentley, everyone waved and yelled at him.

D. Baker, I have a hard time figuring out what some of you senior members have been up to.  A lot of that stuff probably just went right over my head.

What about Chief and Buckeye being related?  Is that just another vicious rumor?

Ray,

The "Dusenberg" goes back to early times when Buckeye would report on taking "Dusey" to parades and special events.  Chuck was always talking about polishing it and riding in it.  Chief always saying it wasn't rightly his.

Now you always here the Chief and Buckeye talking about the good ol days when they started this thread, and go on. and on. and  on.  And would originally refer to each other as brothers, I was a little suspicious about that, and did some checking,  I'm sure they are not brothers, but more like cousins.  I'm not sure whether it is 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.  I'm sure Chuck would know.,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COFFEE POT.

APRIL 1 is the date it was originally started.  Happy B-Day Cake Drinks

Started it early as I have a meeting to attend.  Figured someone might jump the gun and not wait for me to get home.  Felt it right for me start the new birthday one.

Chears.
